Great little chippy. Friendly staff quality food. Fresh fish and chips among some of the best I've had. Definitely worth a visit. Good value too. Just over £21 for 2 large haddock with medium chips and 2 mush peas. Faultless

This fish and chip shop is a little gem when you find it food is cooked to order and fresh hmy husband and myself had a beefburger best I have ever tasted and chips are beautifully cooked we will be back keep up the good work and also reasonable prices

Came from Southend-On-Sea for a few days staying at a campsite 30 mins away and were drawn by reviews. We weren't disappointed! Lovely piece of med white cod and a huge portion of chips, all cooked beautifully and not at all greasy or stuck to the paper like some. Well done guys!

Very fresh and tasty fish and chips in Brighton with good portions. The guy who was running the shop has a very good attitude and is very helpful. I had needed some plates etc to eat in the car with my family and I was prepared to pay for it and he politely said no need to pay which is very kind of him. He is a very respectful person and his food is top quality. If you are ever in Brighton, don’t go to the expensive sea side ones, go to Captain Cooks!! It truly is the best. Will be returning next time I am in Brighton!!

Been going to this chippy for about three years now and have never been let down. The food is consistant, prepared quickly and not overly expensive. Although the main seller is the fish and chips the burgers there are good, along with the savloy and chips and cheesy chip options which are personal favourites of ours. For shorter queuing times avoid the student rush hour from the local colleges! (11:30-12:30)

The cheesy chips are the best I have ever had and it is very good that they have student prices as well

God I love this place. Staff always look after me and remember my name which means a lot. The fish is so fresh just enjoyed another fab meal just now promised myself I must write a review as businesses like this deserve recognition. Well done guys!

Friendly hard working staff. The fish is always super fresh as well as of excellent quality, being always cooked to order, plus served in generous portion sizes, with excellent crispy batter, and all at sensible prices. I'm even tempted to go so far as to suggest that this is (probably) the best fish & chip shop in Brighton! And their Kebab's look similarly good as well (wherein much as I'm loath to break the habit of partaking of their excellent fish & chips, next time I'm going to indulge their kebab's, which look equally good too). All in all, well done the lads at Captain Cooks, it's really nice to have such an excellent & friendly food establishment close by... and, for the rest whom might read this review, do yourself a favour and go try them, it's well worth the visit.

Fish and chips collected last night. Guy begins counter spent most of it chatting on phone. Chips were dry and seemed like they had been cooked in old oil. Donna chips was very small despite large ordered. Wouldn’t go back

Great chippy. I don't go often but the fish is fresh cooked and a good size. I only by a small haddock portion and that's plenty big enough. Good chips too.

Lovely fella that runs it, won’t be going back there though, the donor meat was burnt black around the edges and was rock hard. Wasn’t enough meat and salad for a large kebab either. Was a shame really

My seven year old daughter and I go to this fish and chip shop once a week and the food is delicious: very fresh fish (we have cod) and perfectly cooked chips. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Excellent and highly recommended.

Awful! Asked for a large battered sausage and chips he said he only had a small one cooked. Couldn't cook a larger one? Portions are TINY! Pathetic. Don't waste your money! Go else where!
