Capri At The Containers in Barnsley

We previously ate here last October and it was perfect food was beautiful and the staff were so attentive the gentleman server went above and beyond and was brilliant however the same could not be said for today. We arrived through the door downstairs with no one to greet you so we waited a good 10 minutes wondering if we just sit down anywhere when we finally saw a member of staff he simply said ‘upstairs’ no greeting or directions just ‘upstairs’. When we’d got to the second floor there again was no one to seat you the waitress didn’t even acknowledge we had walked in so we again were unsure if to sit down or not but saw a lot of others sat so we proceeded to the nearest table where the waitress finally came over and chucked menus on the table, again no greeting or pleasantries exchanged, I managed to ask if where we was sat was okay before she’d left again which was annoying as we clearly needed a high chair for our infant daughter which she didn’t even acknowledged to either say ‘would you like a high chair or if you need a high chair they’re located X’ I had to send my partner searching for one. She took our order and we wasn’t waiting too long for our drinks but the food seemed to take ages. The food was nothing to write home about it wasn’t the same level that we experienced last time and for the prices you pay you expect a lot more I felt like the food today was the same level you’d expect to get from a Witherspoon's. The service we received overall was really poor, the waitress even booted the high chair on her way past to another table and she didn’t even apologise. Really disappointed with our visit to Capri at the container this time, we won’t be returning.

Came here for breakfast on Saturday morning with my friend. It wasn’t particularly busy when we arrived and we had our order taken quite quickly. However it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks (just two cups of tea) and two other tables who came after us got theirs first. The food also took quite a while to come. There were only two members of staff on and they seemed a little stressed. The food was delicious when it did come, I had the breakfast brioche and my friend had maple syrup & bacon pancakes - couldn’t fault either of them! Would recommend coming here but only if you don’t mind waiting a bit for your food.

Came over yesterday morning for breakfast for our daughter's birthday. All 3 of us really enjoyed our meal - a perfect full English for me and a delicious flat white coffee - and friendly & attentive service from the staff in the upstairs dining room. Thankyou!

Booked for my mum's 60th after visiting Capri in Wakefield previously and having a great experience. Very disappointing when you arrive to find no-one to meet and great you downstairs so no clue as to where we were eating, when we realised we were eating on the terrace the table wasn't ready and the waiter was not interested in sorting it, we all pulled together cleaned the table that was half done sorted the table and chairs out just in time for when my mum arrived. Food was nice but when I ordered a bottle of wine I had to ask for an ice bucket, really poor if you ask me, the place lacks basic customer service skills, won't be going back.

Great, friendly and attentive service by the ladies serving and the food, pizzas, were very tasty tasty and the best we’ve had for some time. Nice atmosphere also.All in all excellent little restaurant and will definitely be back.

Very nice food and lovely service from the attentive and friendly staff. Everyone enjoyed their food and we will return again soon.

We hired out the fuction room for our work christmas party. Great atmosphere, great food and great team in the kitchen and behind the bar.

What can I say! This place /food is amazing. The gentleman front of house downstairs was just the best. We as a family of 5 norm find eating out a bit stressful but everyone of us loved it esp Rupert who tried everything then got his pizza in a box to takeaway with the finishing touch of a little note on his box which he loved. He even gave it 11*s which is high praise indeed! Def be back soon thanks again ❤️

The staff team worked super hard to put right a mix up with the booking for a very large party booking. We had a fabulous night and most of our guests didn’t know about the behind the scenes juggling going on. The manager (from the Vine restaurant) was a lovely guy and helped the evening to run smoothly. The food was amazing. We all had a great night. Thank you!

Absolutely lovely spot. Food was yummy! Had the chicken salad and it was served beautifully. Chicken was tender and the sauce was so tasty. Rob our server went above and beyond. I have two babies and sometimes feel anxious about coming out with them but he was amazing with them! Was visiting leeds with a friend, so not somewhere we usually go but next time I visit I will definitely be popping in. Thank you :)

An experience! We’ll worth a trip … and worth taking guests to experience it - but I’m not sure it will be a regular haunt for me! A little expensive for every week! Great for special occasions!

Quirky location, rather smelly environs from various odorous neighboring facilities (sewage plant, recycling plant etc). Food was tasty and relatovely good value for money. The three young girls waiting on were friendly and impressively efficient. It was very very noisy though, especially with several large parties in (including my own -- of 11), which means I doubt I'd return in a hurry as the noise put me off a little. Not for everyone but worth a try.

Average service, need at least one more member of staff or some form of management as none was there. It was the food that really disappointed. Missed two of the eight starters and Capri special pizza came out stone cold with raw mushrooms and peppers. As in completely raw, not even threatened with a cigarette lighter. Been few times before and its always been OK, not brilliant but OK but this will be the last time.

I had been recommended after a friend visited the mirfield restaurant. I liked the look of the building being made of containers. Very welcoming staff. We had drinks on the balcony before we went to our table. Orders taken and food was delivered quickly. The restaurant was buzzing with a good vibe and busy. The food was fantastic. Large menus to please all. A genourous portion of everything. The staff was so on the ball, very attentive. Making us feel very welcome. Thank you so much.

So we turned up a little bit early and had to wait for a good 5 Mins at the desk before anyone even came to greet us and then it was the chef that came and and just said sit where you want Then a waitress eventually came to speak to us. Drinks came quickly as did the main course. Food was incredible. Can’t fault it. Piping hot. Fresh. Really tasty and good portion sizes. Then a different very young waitress came and cleared the table and asked if we wanted desserts and brought us the menus. She was almost 25 minutes before she came back and that was only because again I had to complain to the chef that we had literally been left and no one had bothered with us. When she did come back I explained we had waited all this time and she said oh yeh that’s because we were downstairs and the servers are upstairs !!!!! Not good customer service at all Puddings amazing. All in all we enjoyed it but you expect to feel looked after and we didn’t.

Really was not impressed with the service or food. We waited a good 10/15 minutes to be provided with a menu. Our drinks came and my wine glass had pink lipstick marks all round the glass. Starters were average and mains were exactly the same. Could have made a better meal at home and really frustrating paying £80 for a meal and 1 drink each when you’re disappointed.

Great early evening meal on a hot summer's day. Might have expected it to be stuffy within a container setting, but was blissfully cooled( option to sit outside on terrace offered) Great food,portion sizes generous too. Will definitely be back.

Mmm, very, very average. Called in here as passing. It’s a strange venue for a start, burnt out cars at the back of the restaurant (which very nearly put us off, wish we’d have turned around) overlooking a main road, really odd place to have an eatery but having eaten at the Vine in Wakefield we thought the food would be ok. Steak was chewy, my husband was given the wrong main, me and my son had finished our mains and had to wait for my husband to be brought his. Spaghetti and garlic bread were nice. Desserts were questionable, tiramisu and amaretto cake, they were both stale but covered in chocolate to try and disguise. We ate it as we were hungry. Won’t be eating here again. Oh and also lots of flies buzzing around which is never great. Don’t waste your money here, go to Flying PIzza in Roundhay for a decent Italian, same prices.

Visited Capri at the containers a few times and would like to say it has always a lovely experience. Staff are fantastic and clean and tidy venue. The food is lovely and quickly prepared.

Went for breakfast with a friend who hadn't been to Capri before. Was greeted warmly as we entered and advised to head upstairs, where we were met and shown to our table with menus. Order taken promptly and we didn't have long to wait for drinks or breakfast. The full vegetarian breakfast was lovely - hot, with tasty mushrooms. perfectly cooked poached egg and wonderful salty halloumi! Served with beans. avocado and hash brown. Lovely tasty and hot coffee too. Service was attentive, but not over powering in what ended up being quite a busy morning. Ample parking on site, lovely decor, friendly staff and great food at a reasonable price!
