Capo Lounge in Mansfield

Absolutely love Capo Lounge, the food is amazing, great choice always fresh and served quickly. The staff are friendly and helpful, it's clean and always busy a really great place for meeting friends for breakfast, dinner or a night out.

Probably the best full English breakfast I have ever had!

This is an update a few years on from my original fantastic review of capo lounge. I have deleted my good review. Unfortunately things have gone downhill considerably. My first ever if vegan breakfast from capo was an Instagram worthy plate of food. Legitimately perfect, delicious. The price didn't matter. A few years later, my big vegan breakfast was hugely disappointing. No mushrooms, bad vegan sausages, tiny tomatoes and even the rubbish new fake bacon was missing. I'm not sure what I paid nearly £15 for. My partner got a gluten free option (which we didn't order) so there was no flatbread. My eldest daughter had the cheesy beans on toast that she always has. It was a sad excuse for a meal. The beans didn't even spill over the edge of ONE slice of toast, and the cheese... I ended up giving her my beans as she looked so disappointed (so I had even less food) My youngest daughter had the kids chicken strips meal and the chicken strip things were so hard she couldn't eat them. Coffee was cold. A staff member did bring us an extra vegan sausage and another tiny pot of beans, and the flatbread for my partners meal but it was too little too late in my Opinion. We paid around £50 for our whole meal and to be honest I feel absolutely robbed. I'm gutted to say you've lost a customer in me and my family as this isn't the first time there have been issues like this, it's been declining in quality for a while now.

We waited for some time at the door to be greeted despite 3 members of staff seeing us but no acknowledgement. We nearly walked out but someone came to greet us. We gave them the benefit as it wasn't our previous experience. Sadly been served at the bar was a little slow but was at least acknowledged. We had our drinks and decided to have cake which was devine. Would give them another try.

Food was great. Lot of choice on the menu but perhaps the tapas could do with a few different varieties or freshening up for a change. Service is rapid as always and a bustling atmosphere. A little loud if I am being picky. Not a cheap place to eat but quality food. Feels like a holiday bar.

I don't often comment on my views, however given the price paid for the experience feel it relevant to do so. I attended th4 Capo Lounge Mansfield today with my partner and 2 children (Following a recommendation from a family member) Upon entering I waited to be seated, and after 3 minutes or so when staff had been passing us without acknowledgment walked to the bar and asked if I just had to pick a table. I was then told to wait near the entrance and someone would come over (this could have been avoided if one of the staff who passed us on more than one occasion just spoke to us). We got seated then looked at the menu. Now I don't mind spending more than anticipated but £5.50 for 2/3rds of a pint of orange juice?? (For that I would have expected the man from delmonte himself to serve us) So for 2 pancake dishes, 2 teas, one coke, and an orange juice, we paid over £40. The service once seated was speedy, place was clean but I cannot say overall good value for money.

This used to be the place to go in Mansfield. Whether it was for a coffee, breakfast, or an evening out. Not anymore, the staff are miserable and disinterested. Its certainly gone down hill!

I love Capo Lounge, food and drink of a higher quality. The staff are friendly and helpful. Tried a new dish on the breakfast menu. Very tasty but the portion was small, so I'll go for an older favourite. The only issue is waiting to be seated and being asked about allergies because as it is always busy you can wait a while to be seated.

An absolute Gem of a place! The food is amazing, the atmosphere is great and the prices are very reasonable! Me and Mrs love it here!

Never been in but those I know who have rated it highly. I drive by daily at work and pings that I've visited but I haven't. So I've put 3s across the board, go check it yourselves and maybe you'll be able to give it more.

I have been calling into Capo Lounge with my husband almost weekly for the past two years and have also visited a number of times with members of a local Mansfield Ladies Group that I run. I always find the staff to be very warm and welcoming as well as helpful and have always received excellent customer service, which is no mean feat when having to accommodate a large group of 16+ lively ladies! As well as calling in for food and drinks (which I highly recommend) our ladies group have also attended a number of fund raising events involving fun bingo and quiz nights, the most recent one being Thursday just gone. The entire event on Thursday evening was hosted by the very lovely as well as humorous CJ… What can I say, as usual CJ was fab and definitely made our night a very enjoyable experience involving lots of good old fashioned fun and lots of laughter, leaving everyone looking forward to attending the next event. Needless to say the rest of the staff on the night were also friendly, efficient and extremely attentive, food served was excellent and the atmosphere and setting was inviting, comfortable and relaxing. So a big thank you to CJ and Emma (who has looked after me and my husband on numerous occasions), the cook for the great food and all the other staff who made our evening a very enjoyable experience… We will definitely be back! 😉

Disappointed by our first visit. Gluten free food is not as tasty as at other places nearby and what is advertised as a large breakfast is very small for the price. We ordered the Capo Lounge breakfast. Sausages were low quality, as was the bacon. Food seemed as though it had been cooked and left to go cold and then warmed back up. Service was slow and small asks to the staff seemed like we were asking too much. Beware also that the management will not allow any exchanges of items, so we had to pay separately for a slice of toast. Charged £2.95 and advertised as coming with jam, marmalade and marmite. All that arrived was one small slice of toast with no preserves. Will not return

Went to Capo Lounge for a Bingo Night supporting Portland charity. CJ was a great host. It was a night filled with lots of laughs and prizes. Highly recommend.

I always go here and always seem to find like Easter egg treats on the menu!!!!! If you've been here then you already know the vibe is good, the food is great and the staff are amazing 5 stars all the way! On this particular trip I come across something called the "Miami brunch"!!! OMG!!!!! TGIS JS ONE OF THE MOST TASTY, SATISFYING AND ENJOYABLE THINGS I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!! I was a little bit skeptical because I'm not a massive fan of feta, however this plate is really a top tier dish! So much so I've been there again and ordered the same. I think I've found my new breakfast/lunch meal. You could literally eat it for breakfast or lunch. Super happy I think I will be back again next week for it. Thank you for always filling my belly with great food 🫶🫶🫶

Unreal pulled pork, Garlic Ciabatta and honey feta. Ordered on the app and was on the table in 10 mins. Ordered extra, whilst eating and that come even quicker. 10/10 for the range. Just wish they had Olives.

Totally overpriced food with very poor service. I paid over £25 for 2 drinks and a sandwich. The sandwich was literally just that and it was a child's portion. The sandwich was cold and greasy. I asked for bbq sauce but it never came? I think I'll give it a miss next time

We had to check out of our apartment stay at 10am, but couldn't start our train journey to Edinburgh until 3pm. I had scouted out the Capo Lounge as a place that was likely to be accommodating-- and we weren't disappointed. There as a place for the four of us to place our suitcases and other baggage. There were several tables that would accommodate us. Other guests were pleasant and chatty, and when we explained our situation to the staff they said we were welcome to stay as long as we needed. The atmosphere is homey and very family friendly. The decor is quirky and eclectic, but very comfortable. There is ample seating spread across two floors. The menu is extensive, and offers something for everyone. The food is beautifully prepared, tasty, and filling. Beverages arrived quickly and again well-prepared. Water is self-serve and iced. If you ever happen to be in Mansfield, I encourage you to stop by and enjoy this delightful Cafe! Well worth the money!

I go to Capo Lounge fairly often due to a great gluten free menu. I had the Gluten free veggie breakfast today it was so delicious, definitely recommended

A great place to eat breakfast, unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of coming there at lunch time yet. A very pleasant place to look at, interestingly decorated. There is also a children's corner. The service is very friendly. The food is really delicious and the prices are affordable. Our favorite place for breakfast in Mansfield. We will definitely come here again.

I had my bridal shower hosted at the Capo Lounge and everything was perfect. We were given a nice area to ourselves upstairs and the staff couldn't have done more for us, but one who really stood out was CJ. He went above and beyond to make sure we all had the perfect night and he is an absolute credit to the team!

We came today for lunch and had the Tapas, it was delicious! The service was great and food came quickly. Would highly recommend! We will definitely be back soon!

Lovely place, coffee was nice and cakes were delicious. Interesting decor, although I have to admit that a huge painting of Lenin and his army was not something I expected to see. I guess art is art 😅

Lovely , friendly , clam chill out place to either come for a quick drink or pop in for a bite to eat. Breakfast , lunch and dinner , tapas all on the menu. Me and my hubby popped in, child free and had a lunch time snack with coffee. Surrounded by all the amazing and weird pictures/photos. Would recommend and we will definitely be returning. :D Cater for allergens. You are asked at the door if you require dietary needs

Great menu, lovely food and relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed the vegan Mexican superbowl which was very tasty. I would love the recipe for the black beans. Aubergine hummus flatbread is also good value and healthy if you don't add the fries like me! We will definitely be back soon thanks

Always get beautiful food here and lovely service but on this occasion we got the extra special treatment in the form of cake! Having over heard that a chef had made a cake we was intrigued! And to out delight we got to sample a piece! It was delicious! I think her name was Mo? Apologies if i got that wrong. Thank you!

They need to wash the glasses better , they weren't clean. Also random kids were messing around in the toilets.

I come in here a lot and I’m never disappointed but today I had the best experience. The waitress we had was mad in the best way. So funny and bright she really made it a great day!

This atmosphere needs emulating down south, friendly interactive staff, no stuffy uniforms and personality to match, food spot on, leagues above your regular cafe, has made me make my first google review, pleasure to eat breakfast here

The atmosphere is very chilled out. The cleanliness is a cause for concern. The table and salt and pepper pots were dirty. But that we thought was just about the table and being busy but we were not prepared for the filth of the crockery, absolutely disgusting on the cups and milk jugs and teapots. The coffee's did taste nice but the hygiene left a bitter taste in the mouth. We ordered a vegetarian soup and got chicken soup.! The panini was tasty though small and burnt on the edges. The chips were cold. The harissa chicken flatbread was delicious but cold. The assistant manager on duty refunded the cost of the drinks on my complaining. The place needs a deep clean and portions need to be considered.

Monday evening catch up with friends, it was very quiet in the restaurant, but the food and service was excellent and very reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.

Lovely dog friendly cafe, lots of food and drink choices. We ordered avocado on toast, chicken burger and Parmesan fries. With a water melon ice tea. Only negative it was £2.50 for a dog sausage 🫢, in other places they are normally 50p - £1 max.

I visit Capo lounge once maybe twice a month. I love the atmosphere. My parents have visited me for some time and came from abroad so I took them for lunch. Unfortunately, I have not experienced the best attitude towards me. Long story short, I went to self-service station to grab a glass of water but the glasses were dirty and sticky. When I have kindly asked one member of the staff (lady) for clean glass she brought me the one from the self-service station for water. I have kindly asked her to bring me a clean different glass as those are all sticky and dirty. She said that it might take her 5 min to bring me a different glass, so I have said ok no problem at all, after that she took the glass from me, firmly placed it back on her tray with attitude, shakes her head, rolled her eyes left and never returned back with the glass. When different member of the staff brought us food, I have asked her kindly to bring me clean glass and she brought it within few seconds. I have never experienced attitude like this from any other members of the staff before. As a customer I don’t appreciate attitude like this especially for only asking for a clean glass. That should be the priority for any restaurant to be clean and tidy…

I love this place, one of our favourite restaurants and always visit when in town. Their lounge breakfast is the best cooked breakfast I have ever tasted and the coffee is really good too.

Went in today for breakfast. Didn’t have tomatoes or mushrooms cos I don’t like them but had extra toast n hash browns. Absolutely delicious. Everything cooked perfect. Lovely staff Lovely place

Nice bar. Good selection of beers. We opted for the Hofmeister and the Menabrea. Serve food. We didn't eat but looking at the menu they offer your standard pub range.

So, a friend has been coming here for brunch for a long time. This weekend we finally checked it out for ourselves. We came for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were treated by a lovely man who gave me the gluten free menu and asked to sit wherever was free. This place is very chilled out. The décor is somewhere between kitch and Victorian cafe. We had the tapas. There was not a bad dish. Everything was hot, delicious and a great introduction to the food. There is literally something for everyone. All my food came with flags. Personal recommendations are the chilli brisket and sweetcorn and cheese fritters. But what pleased me the most was I had a choice of dessert. I mean a cheesecake I could eat I nearly did my happy dance. The drinks menu is good too. We sampled a fair selection. Finally the staff are young, chatty and nothing was too much trouble. What a lovely bunch of people. We'll be back and I'll be trying the nasi goreg.
