Sorry this place was overpriced, unauthentic, bland and very uncomfortable to eat in. Felt scammed because 12.5% service was charged and paid for when ordering and we didnt get very good service.

One of the worst pho soups I’ve ever had in London, and extremely overpriced. The dish is absolutely unseasoned, broth is flavourless and the side sauce immediately makes you think of a Tesco brand BBQ sauce off-shoot. For ~£20 you would not expect a disappointment of that magnitude, and the reasonable amount of protein doesn’t help as it is equally tasteless. The atmosphere is typical for a central London joint — nothing special, nothing criminal, the usual Bermondsey crowd. Bathroom is moderately clean. Staff was nice and professional — the only upside of the entire experience.

Caphe House is an off the charts Vietnamese ! The quality of the spring rolls and pork Banh Mi were exceptional and the best I have had in the last 5 years. I would go far as to say the flavour and quality of the food surpassed all the Vietnamese restaurants I used to frequent in Singapore and I will certainly be a regular customer having made the discovery. Delicious and a very friendly team.

Exceptional coffee and unbeatable service.

The vibrancy through the open door fell flat, being directed to our table in a space feeling more like a storage room than a restaurant. An easy ordering process became complicated when a table seated after us received their food before us, a near 45 minute wait had our bellies rumbling. Once food was served we were not disappointed, with a friendly waitresses smile, a large portion & delicious flavours.

Struggling to see how this place has such a high rating. The food was really not very good. The Pho broth was fairly tasteless and the combo included short ribs, which were mostly fat and bone resulting in lumps of animal fat in the broth and very little in the way of good eating. The spring rolls arrived about thirty seconds after ordering and seemed to be microwaved or something. Also, it's not cheap. We paid £65 for two Pho, spring rolls, prawn crackers and a couple of soft drinks. This included 12.5% service, which seems pretty cheeky when you have to order using a QR code on your phone.

Authentic Vietnamese food and delicious EGG coffee. The best Vietnamese food since we were in Hanoi. Egg Coffee was amazing and food so fresh.

This review is strictly for the food, and is not a reflection of the staff or service. The people are lovely and the service is good. They should disclose that the broth for all the pho is vegetarian. Typically, beef pho has a beef broth, and chicken pho has chicken broth. Not as flavorful or authentic as I was expecting based on the reviews. And very very expensive.

Small restaurant serving generous plates of Vietnamese cuisine. Delicious papaya salads (great spicy level), tasty pho and fresh summer rolls! A little bit pricey, but worth the big portions and quick service.

We've been to this restaurant a few times now, and it never disappoints. One of the highlights is their egg coffee—rich, velvety, and absolutely worth every penny. The restaurant offers a wide range of Vietnamese dishes, all prepared with care by this lovely, family-run restaurant. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, or vegan, there's something on the menu for everyone. During our last visit, I had a prawn pho with vegan broth, which was good! My partner had the fried chicken with noodles and loved it. This place is perfect for a quick lunch or for spending some time relaxing over a meal. If you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese dining experience, it's definitely worth a visit.

I’m a big fan of Caphe House—their pho is exceptional, perfectly balanced, and refreshing. It's our go-to choice for dinner because it's a healthy option. Our daughter especially loves the soup, and the chef is always accommodating when we request just noodles and a few prawns for her. I've visited many times and will continue to do so as long as we're in the area.

Cut of meat could be of higher quality, but the pho is very good. They ask to pay the tip as usual although it's order by phone. It's also fairly priced.

It’s been over a week that we slid into Caphe House just around 8 pm hungry for a sumptuous meal. I can still recall the tastes of what we dined on. The Vietnamese prawn summer rolls and raw papaya salad we started with were fresh and crunchy with herbs, the prawns were steamed just right and the dipping sauce was perfect. The hits of lemongrass then lime then a little anise from the papaya salad whetted our apetite for more! (My guests and I gobbled the rolls so fast that we didn’t even think of a pic.) For mains one of us had the spicy prawn vermicelli pho and two of us ordered the seafood pho. Both served in generous bowls that we were unable to finish!!! The pho stock was so flavourful and most fragrant yet light, it was a slow revelation of flavours from herbs then lime then star anise and lemongrass and a hint of garlic. My guest who has travelled to Vietnam several times was delighted with this authenticity at Caphe House. Our seafood pho had lots of pieces of tender squid, several tasty fish balls and just 2 prawns albeit large ones. Please next time add a couple more prawns in your beautiful bowls of goodness. The manager Nicky and our server Vivian (hope the spelling is right) made us feel so welcome, our next visit is very soon !!!

Very tasty, loaded and filling Banh Mi's at great prices and value for money. Having tried both the beef and chicken Banh Mi (and this sandwich from other Vietnamese cafes across London), the flavours are great and the baguette is as it should be. For me personally, the meat is a bit too tender and pulled where it loses its texture and bite. The summer rolls are delicious but the dipping sauce is a bit strange, not sure what's in it. It would be nice to have sriracha or other condiments on the table too to spice up the sandwich. As always, Vietnamese ice/hot coffee is just delicious! The staff are very nice, and you can order and pay through the QR code on your table which I like. Would highly recommend for a great meal at very good prices for London and in Bermondsey! Will definitely go back to try the other dishes.

Very tasty brisket & rare beef pho. The broth was great, fresh spicy chilli’s and a good portion size. Bit pricy at £20, but to be expected for that area of london. The pork bun bao was ok, nothing special and limited filling. They had run out of Bahn mi. Service was efficient. Electronic QR code/app payment only, no cash. Will likely be back to try the Egg coffee

Very nice and friendly Vietnamese cafe with restaurant quality/style food. I had the pork summer rolls and the brisket and rare beef steak pho. Both were very nice especially the dipping sauces that came with them. I’d say the food was light and comforting yet filling. My friend got the char siu pork steak buns and they were delicious. Had a slight sweetness to the bun and and was nice and fluffy. I got 2 things so my meal was between £20-£30 but I would say typical spend is about £10-£20 for one thing.

The pho, Vietnamese coffee, summer rolls and spring rolls are my favourites. The flavour and portion of the pho itself gets 5 stars! Although slightly pricy, it is understandable for the generosity of ingredients, flavour and quality! Love the variety of Vietnamese dishes and noodles! Really love this place overall - no frills and delicious :)

Absolute gem of a place. The food is fresh, beautiful and delicious. Full of flavor. Quick, friendly, efficient service. I like ordering and paying upfront on my phone so you can just leave when done.

Food was pretty good. You get soup for £20 that will not fill you up is a bit steep. Asking for a service on top is a bit too much. The service is fine but they took away my table just after I finished my food even though we were sitting as a group.

Popped in today as was passing. Very unimpressed. £19 for a vermicelli salad with thin strips of tasteless pork, the nuoc mam sauce was watered down so dish had no flavour. I also had a bottle of fentimans cola which had more taste than the meal.

Delicious pho and hue soup. Bit pricey, but the serving sizes are generous, especially the hue soup with well cooked brisket chunks! We had 3 soups and 2 Vietnamese coffees. Broth was also very nice, enjoyed the experience overall 👍 and the menu has many many other delicious options to try. There is also take away option if you want to eat in the park. Would recommend

Had the house special pho. Excellent broth, but missed the side plate of coriander and Thai basil that I'm used to getting with pho. The dip (tamarind?) seemed more suited to, say, spring rolls than soup. Also, my companion got more meat!

I ordered rice noodles and there was a lot of meat and the broth was delicious. The price seems a bit expensive at 43 pounds for 2 people.

It is recommended that those who want to eat Vietnamese food choose this place. The rice noodles are very generous and authentic. The environment and atmosphere are very good. The service staff are very kind.

I’m afraid I can’t give this more than 3* due to the price for a tiny portion of prawn papaya salad. I was expecting a lot more food for the £12 I paid. This was more of a side salad not a main. Looks like a lot of prawns but they were in fact all cut in half down the length. Tasty but tiny.

Came here based on a recommendation from a friend, they did not let me down. Absolutely fantastic lunch, generous portions, and the egg coffee is so much better than it sounds, absolute must have, very happy that Halal options are also available.

Not great food but does the job

I’m currently writing this while eating and I would have to say the experience has been amazing from front of house; the guy taking the orders to even the waiter. And their pho is absolutely amazing. The caphe house has a quaint atmosphere and you can tell they care about all their customers. I came here on my lunch break knowing I only had 45mins-1hr. They brought out my food in good timing and it was piping hot and delicious. Thank you for such a great experience

Great location and great quality pho. Soup was clean and flavours were great. Only concern I have was with regards to pricing. £9 for 2 summer rolls which could be finished in 4 bites didn’t seem great value. £42.50 for a regular beef pho, chicken bun bo hue and summer roll before service charge left us a bit disappointed. Especially since you’re asked to order via an app so service provided is just being served your food on a simple table. Quality was good, but can definitely find the same quality for much better pricing elsewhere.

We came across this place just a few minutes away from White Cube gallery. We had without doubt the best prawn pho we had ever tasted. Staff were all very friendly. Highly recommended

Great choice of pho including a seafood version and a vegan broth option. I highly recommend their traditional coffee with egg whites and condensed milk!

We came to visit London, from the hotel we walked around and stumbled into this restaurant. We decided to try and were amazed that the pho was quite excellent compared to the ones in the states. The broth was delicious, the meat was tender and the noodles were just right. The price is quite reasonable. The service was good. It’s practically self serve since we ordered from the phone, paid through the phone and the food brought out, we eat and leave. The water is also self service on a counter. Quite efficient and fast IMO.

The smell of the broth alone will bring you in off the street. Great Pho and other traditional dishes.

When a regular orders a gluten free option and you get the order wrong do not ask them to scrape away the egg noodles. Replace the meal. & Don’t humiliate them in front of the whole place. Oh. And maybe do food safety training. You can make people very sick.

It was a cold winter day with less than 2 degrees. We ordered a Rare Steak & Brisket beef Huế and a Chicken Phở. People who love sour and spicy must fall in love with the Hue. The rare steak and brisket beef were also tender and added a layer for the Hue. Personally, enjoyed the Chicken pho as well, the broth was perfect, its just the chicken is slightly chewy. Vietnamese egg coffee also great, the cream on top match well with the coffee.

It’s an Excellent place! I genuinely recommend Beef curry stew Egg 🤤🤤 Combo Huế is also delicious! The service is highly fantastic!!!

Thit kho and Jasmine Rice lacked flavor, with the meat being dry. The summer roll was tasteless. Will be back just for the special Banh mi.

Fancied some chicken pho, and this place was 5 mins from hotel. Fantastic food and service, portion size is huge. Highly recommended.

Finally found a Viet restaurant in London that does Egg Coffee! Although I got the wrong phó, (I ordered Combo Phó but got Normal beef Phó) the chef gave me an extra portion of short ribs at the end. The beef was so nice and tender.

Their Bánh mì was fresh and light and the coffee was mind blowingly good (try the egg coffee). I didn’t love the Bún Huế as I felt it was missing something, but I’ll be revisiting to try other items on their menu (and have more coffee).

The food is really nice and probably worth the money given the huge portion.

Superb authentic Vietnamese food. The large meals are pretty big so unless you've got a huge appetite the small meals should be more than big enough. Staff are polite and friendly and offer a warm smile.

For that authentic Vietnamese food experience, then this is the place to visit. The menu is quite extensive so you'll be spoilt for choice. You order at the table via a QR code, and there's no alcohol on the menu.

First time in London visiting from America, this was my first food experience. This place is great! Nice relaxing atmosphere, more than fair prices and the food was amazing. Will definitely be back to London and definitely back here.

Expensive but really nice coffee

Excellent! The aroma of this restaurant is the real perfume of Vietnam. It’s run by a Vietnamese couple whose enjoyment at sharing this authentic food is palpable. We (two of us) ordered the summer roll platter “are you sure you want the platter it’s for four people?” Oh yes we do! “ They enjoyed our enthusiasm and it was so worth it as they were fabulous and bounteous. We also shared a huge bowl of and a house noodle soup with prawns, chicken and deliciously rare beef slivers. Superb food and good value for money too. I’ll go back again! I also bought some chilli oil and garlic chilli paste to take home, what a find!

I really liked the Pho here. Service is simple, unfussy and reasonably speedy. Would come again on a slow weekend for lunch - wish it didn't close so early on the weekdays!

First-time at Caphe House, but we are seasoned Vietnamese foodies. Attended the Bermondsey Street Festival, and we stumbled upon this eatery. Proprietors were friendly, and they were even careful to confirm the level of spiciness with our kids after we placed the order. We each had various pho noodles and vermicelli soups, which were "infused with full-flavoured broth" and tender pieces of beef. Love it, and we left with very satisfied tummies 💕

Closed even when Google says its open. Wasted 30 mins coming here. At the resturant door - there is no sign at all to say you closed - only saying you closed on 12th september for refurb.

I am puzzled by how this place can be this packed. Unfortunately the food or some sauces were extremely sugary and the overall taste was not as I expected. The backroom kind of makes you feel good (because you have found a table) but then you realise how weird eating room that is. The only OK food was the rare steak & brisket hué. Stay away from the wings.
