Capeesh Bar & Grill in Liverpool

Absolutely appalled! Booked prior for yesterday and arrived perfectly on time for my reservation for my partners 21st birthday celebrations. I turn up to see a very much closed, might as well be derelict building. Google says open, instagram profile suggests open and they allowed me to book online which they should absolutely not have if they were not open. It ruined my first ever stay in liverpool as I am from the south and travelled up north 4 hours to have a good night away. I chose this place after seeing great advertisement and reviews but when I go to ask locals about this restaurant they didn’t even seem to know about it. This is a scam. I was left freezing in the cold and really messed up our plans with trying to find somewhere else to enjoy dinner and ruined our further reservations following for the rest of the night. I am appalled and would like some sort of explanation on this please asap!

Very pink inside shame the steak wasn't the same, it was dryer than my nan 💀 There is also a peppercorn sauce shortage here.... Alright for drinks but just go the kebab shop instead for a scran 👍🏻

A baby shower book a few months prior and arrangements were discussed of how we wanted the tables set on the private room with Olivia. We waited a month after paying £200 deposit for a confirmation email which was asked for several times. Nearer to the date when paying another £440 for the set menu meals and sending a pre order I was told Olivia was on annual leave and the adjustments to the room would be made. We arrived an hour before on the day to set up and the tables were not how we wanted we then helped arrange tables and set them up in a rush before decorating. We were then served food to which a couple of things on the set menu were incorrect, when questioning this we were told we had been sent the old menu by olivia. I didn’t want to make a fuss as we didn’t want to ruin the baby shower. The food was awful, garlic bread was hard and the calamari was so hard to chew from being over cooked. The staff on the day were polite and friendly but the organisation by who we booked with and the food really let us down. Definitely not somewhere I would book again or trust for a special event to be held. We spent over £900 that day on food & drinks and expected a much better experience.

We had an excellent time eating Birthday lunch there. Melissa from Brazil, our waitress was happy, friendly and overall amazing. She's a real asset to Capeesh Bar & Grill. Thank you for making us feel welcome, we sure will be back!

They really try to squeeze a lot of tables in a tiny space upstairs. There was no space for the waitress to walk and we had to stand up thousands of times when she was serving the tables around us, very uncomfortable. No food was ok.

Asked for steak medium and it was well done and freezing cold worst steak kicking had my pals being sick half way through the meal

The one star is for the starter everything else was awful. I went with my cousin on 14th Feb, set menu and table booked for 8pm. We arrived on time to be greeted by a staff member sat at a corner desk on her phone. We then were taking upstairs to our table and given a menu, it took another 40 mins for anyone to even come and take a drinks or food order. We ordered a bottle of white zinfandel (wicked lady on the menu - not the greatest but a nice 20 of quid profit for the place), we received starters another 25 mins later .. still no wine nor even a bottle a water on the table. The win came after asking the waiter twice .. BAREFOOT, not even listed on the menu! Shambles! Given it was going to be a busy one I obviously expected a little longer waiting time but nearly 2 hours into our meal before we received our mains is another level. To top it off no one took our dessert order and we had to ask for the bill about 40-30 mins after finishing our mains and no one taking out plates away. No apology from the poor staff who are running round mad to try their best to keep a slight standard, yet this was dropped when I seen a waited wipe a form on his apron and pass it to another customer! Dont be fooled by the decor...

Place looked great. Had a great atmosphere and good music. However, service took a very long time. Place was very busy but staff were clearly not getting along as we could see waitresses arguing with kitchen staff. Lots of customers appeared unhappy, sending back food and waiting 15-20 minutes just for a drink. Drinks that we got were served in dirty glasses, very sticky.

Got to be worst restaurant i have ever been to in town, Ordered rump steak medium well come out burnt, Waited an hour for deserts and then when it finally was ready it was given to another table so in the end we had to cancel them after an hour an half waiting in total. Extremely over priced would not recommend to anyone whatsoever. Ruined valentines night

Great food and amazing service. Would definitely recommend!

Went for lunch and was not disappointed. Restaurant is bright and airy eith plenty of room between tables and very comfortable seating. Service was excellent and quick without being rushed. Food was gorgeous. Halloumi and pepper sauce was very tasty as was the calimari, crisp and very tender. The pizzas are huge and very filling. The grilled chicken was beautiful and the mushroom sauce amazing. Sweet potatoe fries were crisp and very tasty but for something special the truffle parmasan cheese fries are something else. Delicious and moreish. Excellent choice of gelato and sorbet, pistatio gelato was beautiful. If youre a fan of cheesecake try the biscoff cheesecake, light, creamy and delicious. The only draw back was the music, although a good choice, was to loud. Maybe if the place was full to capacity this wouldn't be an issue. Having said that will definately be returning.

The selection of food on the special gift voucher menu was very good. Service was first class and we will certainly be visiting again. We are also telling our family and friends what a very good deal the gift voucher we received from our son was

Despite over engineered booking system, which left us unsure if we had a booking or not, requiring a phone call, we had a lovely evening. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Not that accessible (steps), although large accessible loo (weirdly no hand towels or a dryer). Would definitely come again. The truffle and parmesan chips are amazing!

If bland and cold food is your thing, then this is the place for you !!!

The bottomless brunch here was fantastic! We stayed for the full 90 minutes. The pizza was delicious. They had so many different flavour Bellinis to choose from... watermelon, strawberry, peach to raspberry! The drinks flowed and the vibe was lovely! We had a really good time and can't recommend this restaurant enough!

5 stars all round! We came here on Saturday for my boyfriends birthday and what can I say.. Lovely restaurant with amazing food and great atmosphere. Lots to choose from on the menu. The pizzas are super tasty and so fresh. Service was fantastic, food and drinks came out quick and the staff were great. We will definitely be booking again.

First time visit and won't be the last, a really nice place to visit, on entering you are met with welcomes, the meals first class (we had pizzas very nice to, staff very nice and the architecture inside (modern) in a beautiful building, lovely. Great place to visit and only in the next street to Matthew St (cavern club) .

Lots of confusion int he build up about when we could or couldn't use our Groupon voucher. Eventually came in on Saturdsy lunchtime. Even more confusion about what we could have as their Groupon Menu didn't match what our offer said we could have. Manager happily sorted us though and was very helpful. However unfortunately that's where the good service ends. First waitress had to ask us three times to get our drinks order right. Starter came quickly enough and the Calamari was very tasty. After that however we had to wait nearly an hour for our pizzas. Whole point about wood fire pizzas is they don't take long to cook. And whilst it was reasonably busy, it's not like the restaurant was full either. Once the pizzas arrived we had to ask for new cutlery. Twice the new waitress who served us knocked either napkins or said cutlery on the floor. The pizzas were perfectly fine, nothing particularly special. Glad we had a Groupon voucher put it that way. It then took us forever to ask to out what remained of our pizzas in a takeaway box. This was particularly frustrating as during this time there were three waitresses stood around chatting, mostly with their backs to the rest of the restaurant. Maybe this was a lunchtime experience and it's all a bit tighter in the evening I don't know. The cocktail menu looked good and a lot of the other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves. But the service is what let this pace down for me.

Awful place 2 1/2 hour wait for horrible food

Terrible service. Overpriced. More of a club than restaurant. Pre ordered our food earlier in the week as it was a large party attending. Starters arrived an hour and 20 mins after our reservation time. If we had showed up on the day I'd understand a delay but that was ridiculous. We had already paid a deposit for each head, or would have left. When food did arrive, it was... fine. I could have had a better steak for less in one of the several steak houses in town and it wouldn't have taken over 90 mins to arrive. Over priced for what it was. No table service when seated while having a meal. Had to go downstairs to get drinks which for a sit down meal seems a bit wrong. Atmosphere was also more club like. It could just be us but music was too loud and drum and bass for a restaurant type experience. If you want a bit of food before going out on the town, its probably fine, but for a large party going for a meal and company, avoid!

Food arrived cold and service was awful

Bought a deal through Groupon for 3 course and a drink. Absolutely fantastic. Great staff, lovely restaurant and food spot on. Garlic and tomato bread one of the best I have tasted and the steak was tender and cooked to perfection. Finished off with Biscoff cheesecake. Will definitely be back again

Lovely restaurant and great staff however was disappointed with the food. Sirloin steak was mostly fat couldn’t eat it very hard to cut, shame as was celebrating a birthday. My fiancés steak was also fatty which he did not eat but was still made to pay for his meal, which I did to save the hassle.

Loved the food, the best pizza I’ve had in a while. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. The staff are great too and looked after us well.

We where a group of 8 who had purchased multiple wowcher discount offers, which included a starter and a pizza for 2 people for 19.99 which stated on the voucher it was valid for Saturday 6:30pm till 12am. When phoning up to book the table we where told this was a error on their part and should not have been for a Saturday night but would honour the deal as it was their mistake. A phone call received from restaurant that they required an £80 deposit to book the table to which the organiser asked if would get a refund if all party members turned up, to be told we would spend that on drinks and that would be used for payment (how did they know what we would be spending on drinks) not an issue been there policy for booking a table, but to be told you will spend £80 on drinks is assumptious. The next phone call from them was to say we now need to pre book our meals before getting to the restaurant with the organiser needing to do a spreadsheet with people names on with what they would want for their starters and pizza’s. Never have I ever experienced this for a table of 8 people. A further phone call again to be asked you have only ordered a 2 courses and no desert, is their a reason to which the wowcher deal was needed to be explained once again. Why would anyone book a desert before the actual night unless on a set course menu. The whole experience just put dampener on night before we even got there and for few us out principle just drank tap water for the meal. If we did not have the terrible customer service prior to the night we would spent a lot more money on the restaurant. An after been made to order in advanced the starters were served to us with 2 people still not at the table. Then when the pizza’s arrived only 6 pizza’s arrived with the other 2 coming out 5 minutes later. Not how you expect to be treated as a customer.

We booked a wowcher deal for 8 of us. From start to finish the whole process was a nightmare. Capeesh made a mistake by allowing the deal to be valid on a Saturday night. Then did everything to try an stop us coming. I had about 7 phone calls from the same arrogant lady. Each time denying she new anything about the deal. We even had to pre order are food. But on arrival found the menu online is different to the one in the restaurant. We would of chose different food. 2 guests were running slightly late. But were told food was coming out no matter what. I could understand if the restaurant was packed but it was empty. As soon as we arrived staff were pointing at our table. Muttering to them selves. Food was really nice. Just a shame it was overshadowed by the appalling customer services.

2 visits. From my experience and experience looking around the room. Do not book as a group unless you want to spend hours waiting for food. We was a group of 8 and waited 1 hour for 3 starter calamaris and 1 cheese and ham (not entirely sure as to why since we was their only customers until a couple arrived, had their main while we waited on said starters). As a couple, you will be served much faster. The food is alright, on the pricey side for what it is, but that's to be expected. The service is great with the waitresses we've had, really caring for their customers. Sad to say, I'll probably not return as there are far better priced restaraunts with better overall experiences around Liverpool. Atmosphere wise, cold when placed under the aircon haha! But we was offered to be moved to be fair.

Nice pizza, would be better with some seasoning, chili flakes, and Italian seasoning (e.g., dried oregano and basil). But, there is a terrible coldness though in here, the lack of customers makes the atmosphere horrible to sit in. Then you compound this with the pizza chefs staring straight directly at you AND laughing all the time while you're served and eating your pizza is extremely off putting. Why are they staring at us and laughing? Makes you fearful they're talking about something they've done to your pizza. Maybe we're paranoid, maybe it's because they have nothing else to do, but it's horrific to sit through as a customer. Then there's the live music, can you move them further away from customers, like to become pleasant background music, rather than being right in your face and loud? I'm here to eat and chat, not to be crushed into oblivion with overbearing music. I hope if you're a potential customer reading this you'll still give this place a bash, the pizza is very nice and worth the visit, I think it's better than anywhere else in Liverpool. Rudy's and Franco can't touch Capeesh. While the atmosphere is a problem, I hope this will be remedied through experience.

Awful customer service, table booked at 8 pm and ordered drinks straight away took 75 minutes + to come

Absolutely fabulous place to eat. The staff was very caring an extremely helpful. I cant compliment the service enough 10/10 highly recommend.

We visited here during the the River of Light show. I called ahead because it was a busy night in Liverpool and we managed to get a table. The customer service was exceptional. The staff were amazing. We received a warm greeting and were seated promptly. They knew the menu, and offered suggestions. We were with our kids and nothing was too much trouble amending our food to accommodate them. For starters ordered the Barratta & Parma ham , it was lovely and fresh , the presentation was done really well too and also cheesy garlic bread. For our mains we all ordered pizza. They were really big ! Dough was lovely and cooked in a proper pizza oven. Lots of toppings again if you wanted to amend anything it wasn't a problem. We all really enjoyed it. The decor was nice, clean premises. I would highly reccomend Capeesh. Thank you we will definitely be back again !

My friends and I visited Capeesh last night and had a great evening. The food was amazing, I had the truffle pizza, the nicest pizza I’ve ever had. The drinks were great too. Our waitress, Demi, was really attentive and lovely! The venue is amazing too, great atmosphere.

We visited here on Saturday as a group of 7 for a belated birthday celebration. We had the bottomless brunch, the pizza's were all delicious, staff were very attentive and we were well looked after. The establishment is very nice and clean, great venue.

Fabulous food, staff are great nothing too much trouble, lovely decor will highly recommend this restaurant and will deffo be back again x

Food was tasty, but had a seriously long wait for our food. 1hr 30 for pizza and 45 mins for ice cream is way too long. Food was great and the serving staff were lovely.

This is a gem of a find, colourful decor with no expense spared. Food was gorgeous and staff were very friendly! I would suggest serving pizza on a hot stone / plate as doesn't keep hot for long.

Our server Addy was amazing! The food and drink were so quick to come out and tasted amazing. Can’t thank Addy enough for his attentive and positive attitude had an amazing night! <3

Went for dinner Saturday evening great atmosphere and small wait on food but worth it. DJ started towards the end of our meal So we stayed for drinks. Only feedback I would give is to let guests know of DJ in the evening as we sat next to a table who complained several times about the music level. It was not loud but the lady had a hearing issue so she made it apparent to everyone by sticking tissue in her ears! Will be back soon !

Food was great but experience horrendous. Thought I was in a nightclub not a restaurant. Couldn't chat or discuss food. One of our party has damaged hearing so loud noise really affects them. They plugged their ears with earplugs and tried to carry on but next day their tinnitus was awful and they had a bad head The rest of us didn't find the experience enjoyable due to the volume. We did ask if they could turn the volume down but instead it was raised twice as if to say stuff you! If you are eating a meal and an expensive one at that the most you need is some quiet background music. We don't go to clubs as too noisy. We don't expect to go to a restaurant where we can't even speak to each other and that's from 3 20 odd yr olds Wouldn't recommend unless they get shut of the awful racket

Loved the place absolutely brilliant experience with great staff and atmosphere, we went on a Saturday night and there was a DJ playing dance music which was spot on really enjoyed the night . Super clean great food and good staff 👌.

Came here just by passing through, starter was unreal and it was massive, got the ribs for a main they were okay like. The daisy cocktail is so nice though. To be honest reason am giving it 5 star was because of our waitress sinead she was so chatty, informative and all round a lovely waitress. Thank you

Poor experience. Great starters, but thats where it finished. Mains arrived after a long wait, but fries and accompanying sauces arrived 10 mins after mains by which time our food was cold. Background music far too loud and overpowering. Could not interact with staff or friends. People around us were also complaining about music being too loud. On the plus side, manager did try to rectify the issue by removing the main courses from our bill, by way of apology

The truffle & sausage pizza was to die for. Hannah (I believe she was a server) recommendation of the sausage prior to ordering was appreciated by the whole table, great knowledge. Was very happy with the service received from the whole team.

We took friends visiting us for the weekend for lunch, the decor and ambiance are lovely, the food is excellent and very generous, Alin was patient attentive and very professional especially as our friends are not used to restaurants. He offered recommendations and advice, all in all we had a great time and we will be back for dinner - and more lunches.

Went for lunch today. Food was really good (starter was huge) and the service was great. Addi, our waiter, was very personable and the right side of attentive. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Came in for a Pizza and a drink before the cinema, was a really lovely atmosphere, and the food was very quick and tasted amazing! I have had many pizzas before but this was by far the best one. Paul the manager was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. I had the Tai Tiki cocktail and it was really good! Will be coming back for another one very soon. Toward the end of our meal the manager Hannah started her shift and from the start she came over to check we where ok and had a nice chat with us. Overall, Capeesh was a very enjoyable experience and has lovely staff. Can’t wait to come again. Thank you! P.s the toilets are the best and most clean toilets I have ever seen.

First time at Capeesh today for a spot of lunch for my partner's birthday, and my god was it outstanding!! The truffle pizza was unreal, so much flavour and more importantly, SO MUCH TRUFFLE (unlike these restaurants who put the word on their website just to smell the faint once-was of the ingredient), and the rest was delicious too. The wine menu is incredibly versatile and exceptionally well priced given the quality. Our server demi was great, the attention to detail was superb, moving any unnecessary clutter from the table almost instantly and keeping on top of wine and water, the managers Mikey and Hannah were incredibly hospitable. Shall definitely be returning to try the steaks!! Love this restaurant and everyone should try it.

Lovely atmosphere and great staff, Paul the manager was very attentive. Food was so nice and quick service. Would recommend for a meal out in Liverpool.
