Not as good as under previous owners, long time for delivery but still good food. Price increase recently which was quite a lot!!

This is our go to Chinese takeaway delivery normally. Ordered tonight, wrong order, took an hour for delivery and food arrived cold and much more expensive than last time. Shame

Every time I go in here the prices have been increased and not just 30-40p either. Sometimes I just decide I fancy chips and curry sauce. This was back in September 2023 £2.70 very reasonable then in November 2023 this was £3.20 which again is a reasonable increase and I didn’t mind especially with everything else going up too. Having gone to order my usual chips and curry this evening 5/2/24 I’m told the price has now increased again but to a staggering £4.80 yes nearly a fiver. Plus the chips were hard and more like scraps. Far too expensive for me now and I’m not tight I just don’t like being ripped off.

Lovely food, great service and good value for money. Portions are generous too, ordered for new years eve and our huge order was ready right on time and piping hot. Definitely recommend

Canton king is the best Chinese in Hillsborough realy great potions. I go out of my way to go there I live in deepcar but well worth it.

Didn’t get our food because of delivery driver refused to deliver our food he was rude aggressive and arrogant we was being very patient so he had no reason to be rude.

Lovely little takeaway consistently good food at good price

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It used to be an amazing takeaway years ago but now it's disgusting. I phoned the order through and went to collect it I live less than a mile away and the food was cold. Worst thing was aa soon as we walked in we were getting bombarded with tiny flies. Food hygiene seems to be bottom of their priorities.

Used to love this place massive portions and good food but it’s been taken over or someone else is running it now and it’s gone way down hill the food is standard portion but the quality is shocking yes it was ordered fresh but it was just mush wouldn’t go again after years and years of use

Disgusting ordered a special omlette looked like someone had scrapped it off the pan and thrown it in the container only frozen chicken pieces in it and peas no flavour and would only feed a child asvthe portion was so small £6.90

1st time with this takeaway. The only word to describe the food is sloppy. The sweet and sour pork hong kong style tasted like mush with sauce. Fried rice swimming in oil and plain noodles must have had a whole bottle of soy sauce.

Been going here for years. Tonight's delivery had gone up £17.10 instead of £12.90. disappointingly cold and not as tasty as usual. Maybe the last time we have a delivery from here. Shame

Ordered many times before but meal tonight was very disappointing Sweet & Sour chicken was disgusting, chicken inedible & sauce had an undertone of cleaning fluid Prawn crackers completely bland & tasteless

Ordered from here today, spent over £30. The chicken balls were mostly dough, the beef chow mien was very bland, the rice smelt off, the chips were stale and old. Phone and asked for a refund and was told I couldn’t get one but could have more food cooked fresh. I declined as the rice was off and didn’t want more sending. A complete waste of money, it all went in the bin. Don’t not recommend this Chinese and would not be ordering from here again.

Delivery driver extremely rude, he came to the back door as requested, knocked once then walked off not giving us any time to answer the door and then had the audacity to start shouting down the phone refusing to come back to the door to re-deliver, when he finally did come back, he was just as rude, shoved the food in our hands then walked off without saying good bye. Very disappointed in the customer service

Discusting 😠🤮. Very unhappy the rices smelt of it looked greasey. The pancake roll was full of oil it even shock throw paper n it to bag! My chips was hard and dry they been re cook!! 1st n last time I order from here!!!

Watery sauces, old, hard veg and tough duck. The worst meal I've ever paid £20 for. If you know how Chinese food tastes, don't order here.

Mediocre food.. bit more tasty than Shangai Gardens at upperthorpe.. spent so much, but only free prawn crackers & not any spring rolls..don't think i be rushing to have a Chinese takeaway again any time soon...

2stars for delivering for early and quantity of food. Doesn't taste good, tastes cheap and I spent the next day on the toilet. Save your money and your life. Not a regular reviewer but I had to do this.

The original Cantonese founder no longer manages this place unfortunately. I hope the new owner retains the traditional “Canton King” standard. Just before COVID happened in 2020, the original boss sold the shop. I have been coming here since 2013 and have been coming here on a quarterly basis since. Its my favourite Chinese takeaway up in the North of England. They provide “King” size portions in comparison to competitors at a reasonable and fair price! This has been their main selling point since they opened! In my whole life of eating Chinese takeaways, not a single place has ever beaten Canton King’s value for money in terms of portion sizes! I was blown away by the portion size when I first came here! Their taste is very standard and generic. Do not expect very tasty Chinese like down in London! I recommend coming here if you are very hungry!

Dreadful food experience. Ordered the salt and pepper box. It was woeful in every sense of the word. We will never go again.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls that were crispy, sweet and so good.The salt and pepper wings and chips? spot on, probably the best! Plenty of salt, onion, chilli and garlic. The chicken chow mein was nice but but seemed incomplete, like it was missing something but still great. Unfortunately I cant say the same about the egg fried rice it was greasy, stuck together like sand and had a weird taste like it was out of date. To make up for this the staff were really friendly and gave very generous portions and I mean loads! The place does look a bit run down but don't let that stop you from coming in and trying them out; don't judge a book by its cover especially not this book! Cheap tasty food, friendly staff and one hundred percent worth it. Recommended

AWFUL! I bought sweet and sour king prawns, got home and not only was the source tasteless, but there were only FOUR PRAWNS in the source. I called up simply to let them know and the woman who answered was rude and aggressive, accusing me of trying to get a free meal before hanging up. AVOID THIS PLACE!

First time I've used this Chinese, Was quite ok. Sweet & sour chicken Cantonese style was a little waterery but delivery time was quite fast & very generous portions.

First let me say I have been a fairly satisfied customer of this establishment for over 20 years I'd more often than not have the same thing BBQ ribs and rice so can't tell you if it's all the same . You used to be able to see them cooking your food through the doorway, not now , the new staff in their nice new uniforms put the pre cooked ribs in the chip pan , my heart sank...the ribs had plenty of meat but we're dry and greasy at the same time and the barbacue sauce was like water , worst of all it was completely tasteless .... I've really enjoyed food from here mm ostly in the past but no sorry I'll never go again , end of an era

Would give 0 star if i could. Open and closing times are a lie for a start. Poor food service..previous orders turned up cold and clearly prior cooked food that has been warmed up. Not suprised they have reports of rats..shop venue appearance is ridiculously poor Staff are so so rude..portions maybe large but the time off work from food poisoning is not worth the slight saving...steer well well clear!!!

Siempre me encantó este chino, pero no he ordenado desde aquí durante los últimos años, ya que me mudé, pero volví y pedimos desde aquí esta noche. Pedí pollo al curry y arroz, así que no puedo comer esas cosas falsas reformadas con pollo. No ordene pollo aquí, así que decidí sacar el pollo imaginario y me queda casi sin salsa, principalmente cebolla muy cruda y sin guisantes cocidos y sabe absolutamente basura, así que desperdicio de dinero y hambre.NUNCA VENDRÉ AQUÍ OTRA VEZ

Was very disappointed with the food we had today. It is usually really warm and get a fair bit with it but wasn't today. The prawn crackers was horrendous and the rice was really dry the chicken balls didn't even taste like chicken and the batter was so thick and vile . we usually have it from here a lot but wouldn't have it again and wouldn't recommend it

Times have changed, Compared to how it was supposed to be its slipping in standards. Quality is dying. The BBQ sause was tasteless. Chips was re heated in too much oil and the oil wasnt hot enough . Come on guys, you can do better than this.. You used to be the go too place Get back to how you used to be.

This was our benchmark Chinese take away. Taste was always good and portions were plentiful. Went recently and noticed new faces working there. Tastes were bland and portions were not so plentiful.

Terminé ordenando de Tasy Bite. ¡NO TE ENTREGARÁ EL REY CANTÓN DE NUEVO! ! ! ! ! ???

Después de haber visitado Canton King en numerosas ocasiones durante al menos 10 años, fuimos en la víspera de Año Nuevo, la mayoría de Nochevieja y siempre hay una gran cola en la puerta, imagínese mi sorpresa cuando había una persona en la tienda. Ninguno de los empleados habituales era visible, las porciones eran muy pequeñas, claramente usando chips finos congelados (que no cocinamos y congelamos en partes - ¡la grasa no está lo suficientemente caliente - ni siquiera burbujean!), Los guisantes congelados en Foo Yung también están parcialmente congelados, Salsa de curry diferente, guisantes bien, arroz frito no está mal. El esposo tenía un rollo de panqueques que tomó más de 15 minutos para cocinar (y tuve que pedirles que pusieran el resto de la comida en la freidora caliente, ya que no estaba caliente así que no cocinaría el rollo de panqueques). ¡Cuando lo conseguimos en casa fue tan descuidado y en bruto que todo el papel se pegó a él y terminamos con el interior! Good food and generous portions

Went tonight, they missed things I paid for out of my order. The rice tasted of burned oil, the ribs had no meat on them, the chicken balls were all batter and rubbery. It’s not the first time either. This place used to have queues outside the door, not any longer which is a sign that even though the portions are generous, the substandard quality of food they now serve on a consistent basis has ruined their reputation. I will not be returning here again, ever! So disappointed.

Portions are huge. Quality isnt! Long waits for phone orders yet still take more orders! 50 minute wait last night for a phone order that was promised to be 20 mins. Felt so sorry for staff!! If catering for a big party then for the money it's ok however, If you want some good quality Chinese food choose elsewhere.

This Chinese as gone down hill really fast, our last take-a-way was disgusting, we binned 3/4 of what we bought. Chicken balls, the chicken was barely cooked and batter was soggy in the middle. BBQ ribs, I don't know what was on them, it tasted sickly, defiantly not BBQ sauce! Plain noodles well, I can't even describe them. Someone said they had been taken over, not sure if that us true, but food is now horrible. We won't be going back there again.

I love this place, I've been getting food from here for many years and always spot on. BIG portions so make sure you don't over order, most items will easily split between 2 to 3 people. Very reasonably priced, costs me between £15 - £20 usually to feed 2 adults, 2 teens and a child. Only negative is that it looks a bit run down, that doesn't effect the food but could possibly put off passing trade.

Best place for chinese in Sheffield. Portion are huge and decent prices. Free coke or crackers over 20 quid.

Place look like it did 10 years ago but the food is great best chinese around Hillsborough for the price, extremely good portion size, great tasting sweet and sour, very nice chips and the rice is very tasty and also great portion size, there is always a que but we'll worth the wait.

Great Food at a great price, there's 2 of us and we normally have 1/2 potion chip, plain noodles, chicken fried rice and a carton of curry sauce. wow the amount you get is silly enough for a family of 4 with enough left over lunch the next day.
