Canton in Poole

I ordered a takeaway of pork and prawn dim sum and Canton Special Noodle dish which should have duck, chicken, pork, prawn and beef. It arrived on time and hot. The dim sum was delicious although the dipping sauce was just a warm oversalted soy and very unpleasant. The Udon noodle dish was hot, full of bean sprouts nand large pieces of onion, and 3 or 4 large slices of very thin and very tough beef . 2 chicken slices tasty off and was of a slimy texture, which I did not eat. Plus one prawn. No duck or pork in the noodles and the sauce was watery soy sauce.. not the usual delicious sauce. I am very disappointed and will not be ordering again. The standard has deteriorated quite a bit.

Disgraceful that on two seperate occasions they can't get an order correct. Last time we ended up with chicken chow mein instead of mixed vegetable chow mein - our household don't eat meat!! Todays order we asked for Salt & Pepper King Prawns which I'd paid for and end up with 5 tempura prawns which actually cost less. Safe to say after years of going here somethings gone wrong in the last few months and sadly I'll no longer be returning as the simplest of orders can't be delivered correctly. Such a shame when the food is actually good.

Food was an hour late so phoned to find out where it was and was told it was just coming out of the kitchen. 20 minutes later we phoned again and were told it was just being cooked. Lady on the phone was rude and unhelpful. Food turned up 2 hours after being ordered and was cold and had dietary requests ignored. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

We're rather mystified by the poor reviews. This is our local Chinese takeaway and the quality, consistency and value have always, always been the same. The best Chow Mein I've ever had. Sweet & Sour impeccable. Friendly and always on time. They also serve food direct to your table in The Barking Cat pub next door; "Canton Chips" go especially well with a pint.

Aweful food. We ordered a Thai Red and green curry with rice. Didn't look anything like or taste like Thai food. We complained and initially they said they would give a refund if we took the food back. We agreed but 5 mins later they called back to say that the manager wouldn't give a refund. He explained that they were a Chinese restaurant not Thai so we couldn't expect the same quality. To top it off there was a hair in the food (which once pulled out turned out quite long) and when we mentioned it they said we had put it there! Please do not buy any food here, worst service and food I have ever experienced! I wish we read the reviews before going here

I order a mean for myself and partner. There was items missing - when trying to contact the restaurant they were closed. I had to wait till the next day to contact them and all they offered was the missing item to be delivered 24 hours later? Not good enough customer service. Won’t be ordering from here again.

I have eaten a lot of special chow mein in my life. The one I've just had delivered was the worst I've ever had.

Favorite place to order food from. Never had a bad delivery. The food is brilliant and they have so many options for vegetarians. The guy who delivers the food is so friendly and polite.

Woman on phone rude. The chef stunk of cigarettes and lots of children playing in the kitchen area. Food very low standard. Noodles tasted disgusting the chicken was a strange taste too. Wouldn’t go back again. The Chinese up the road lis is MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!

Gone here a few times. Never had a bad meal. Always good food when we eat. Would recommend to everyone.

We had stopped ordering from Canton some years back but heard some good reports and decided to give them another try, Have had 3 takeaways since then and everyone was top notch. Chow mein not at all greasy and packed with meat. Curry lovely great sauce and just had fillet steak Chinese style which was excellent. I don't know if it has changed hands but certainly well worth a try

Ordered a takeaway online to be delivered at 8.05pm and was notified it would be 8.35pm, which was fine, as our daughter was coming at 8pm. It was delivered at 6.15pm!!!!!! We had ours, which was only just warm, but tasty, and had to reheat our daughters when we she came, which wasn’t ideal. What really annoyed me though is that they say on their website and menu free delivery over £15 and 3 miles, which we were both, but they still charged us for delivery. Spoke to Just Eat and they were useless and awaiting reply from the restaurant. Don’t use for takeaway.

One time this was the only Chinese takeaway we'd use, then it went down hill, we stopped going, this was some 30 odd years ago. We decided to give it ago the other night, the beef curry was the same, my favourite, the spring rolls were more like pasty's in filo pastry, not very nice. All in all, the rest of the stuff, nowhere near as good as they used to be. Going give them some time to see if they improve.

It's the best Chinese takeaway Ive ever had in the area. Malaysian Kungpo is a must. Definitely go back

One of many Chinese takeaways on Ashley Road that delivers average Chinese. They seem to have Thai and Malaysian dishes too. Not tried these. The spring rolls came in a portion of 2 and quite tasty. But it was very greasy. On top it was kept in a cardboard box which dripped condensation and made the spring rolls damp. So not able to eat both of them. Their special rice was ok but rather dry. Not a takeaway that I would use again.

We've been regular customers since moving back to Parkstone a year ago and their food and delivery service is always excellent. In my opinion the best Chinese takeaway in the area.
