This place is such a beautiful atmosphere great staff and so friendly! Food came out on time and was perfect i would recommend coming here for food and drinks with family!

We came here for a work team building evening, the refurb looks amazing. The staff are friendly, polite and efficient and the menu reasonable. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be returning again, keep up the good work Ross and team 💙

Such a beautiful place especially the large open garden, perfect in the summer. We came for a meal with friends and met the managers who are just delightful. Super polite and friendly and clearly put a lot of passion into running this gorgeous place. Definitely be coming back, thanks for a lovely time

What a lost opportunity. The last Landlady may have been the most miserable human in existence but her food was great. Now replaced with a team serving up the smallest portions ever seen in a pub, and seriously expecting us to take children to see a Drag act special event! We’re blessed with lots of local alternatives thankfully, we’ll be giving this place a very wide berth.

First time visiting last night and had a fantastic time. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. They had a Bruno mars tribute act singing the night away. The pub is child and pet friendly with disabled access. Very nice place and has been done up well. Congrats on all that you have achieved so far and I will definitely pop in again soon.

If you want a bleach tasting gristle steak. Go here! Embarrassing! Poor services vile loud tasteless music, and atmosphere for idiots.

Have been a few times since the pub reopened. Fantastic food. Lovely smiling staff, who always make you feel welcome. The new management and team are amazing. Finally found my local pub I enjoy going to.

Been in a few times since the make over, which is really pretty good. The food (steak pie) that I had this week was epic. But the hours they serve food is now wider than before. I do like what they are trying to do at night, it feels like a venue for events not just a pub. Something Tewkesbury was missing.

It is with great upset that this negative review needs to be made. A rather large party of 25 who had pre ordered meals a month in advance turned out to be utter chaos. Only a few meals that came out of the kitchen were what were ordered. Even 5 children meals were wrong.. our meals from start to finish took 40 minutes to arrive . During this time unknown to us the manager walked through the dining area, not once acknowledging or questioning if every thing was ok. Part of my job is to recommend places to eat for large functions. I’m sorry but no recommendations from me or the other 20 adults who were present. A 50th birthday family meal totally spoilt.

Have visited here a few times since its reopening and I must say the food is superb the staff are all so lovely and will go that extra mile . Looking forward to their entertainment nights . This Friday its a drag night .

I came in this afternoon for some lunch with friends, I had a mixed grill and I must it was the best I’ve had in a long time. The food was hot and presented well. All the staff were very polite and welcoming.

Hubby had fish, which he really enjoyed. Unfortunately my Hunters chicken was awful. Chicken was over cooked, very dry and had very little flavour. The salad wasn’t very fresh.

Table service awful. Half of the dinner arrived when everybody had finished eating, even though they had been reminded of the error at the time. The waiter was very rude when challenged. No apology or offer of a refund for the later item.

Just moved to Tewkesbury thought we would give the Canterbury a try with it being a green king. Got seated and ordered food at no point were we told there was a long wait for food. 1 hour later it arrives cold even a sizzless...

I actually live in Tewkesbury and we've not been into the Canterbury for a few years. Didn't read any reviews beforehand but there's a board outside stating 2 meals for £13, so thought it would be a cheap light bite for me and my wife....

¡Encontramos este lugar cuando nos alojamos en el cercano Premier Inn después de que los Brewers Fayre contiguos tuvieran 3 bombas de cerveza real, pero ninguna de ellas funcionaba y el personal dijo que no tenían tiempo para conectar la cerveza real! El Canterbury Inn es un bar / restaurante de Greene King con una selección de cervezas reales, que sirve comidas bien preparadas y de buena relación calidad-precio y un servicio proporcionado por un personal amable y servicial. Está a solo 10 minutos a pie del Premier Inn, con asientos al aire libre, área de juegos y mucho espacio interior. Definitivamente lo usará cuando se aloje en el Premier Inn nuevamente.

Standard food, couldnt complain and service was okay. Lacks atmosphere and feels like those having food sort of takes second place compared to the drinkers. Quiet place but bar is fairly rowdy.

Often visit here on a sunday for lunch,would prefer a carvery,but the standard of their lunches make it all worthwhile.Recomended

Stopped off for a quick fix, nicely cooked food quick and helpful service and not badly priced, they do an offer for kids meals too, good for families

We stopped here as a way of getting off the M5 for a meal, Just turned left off J9 and there we were. The pub is nothing to look at from outside and some parts seem a little tired but the menu gave us lots of choice and the food came quickly. It was all hot and nicely presented too. I loved the macaroni cheese and my husband had the Cajun chicken baguette which he said was very nice. This was our first visit although the journey through J9 is a regular one. We will stop here again so much better all round than using the motorway services

Found this place as it was on my route home. Decent enough with a nice outside seating area but very quiet, even due to the time of day.We all had the roast which was nice enough but the roast potatoes were burnt.There were 2 young girls behind the bar and when we left we had no acknowledge from them when we left. A thank you would have been nice.Won't be visiting again.

Found this place when staying away due to work commitments. It's a 10 minute walk away from two well-known run-of-the-mill motorway hotels. The food is very good and at very reasonable prices with very good service to. I was told they are very busy at the moment and would I mind waiting 20 minutes for my meal. I've waited far longer in other places that are not even busy.Portion size is very good and well prepared and was brought out hot and fresh.Well worth the 10 minute walk to eat and the price good, £17 for a starter main meal and a drink.Will be using this place again.

This is the third time we have eaten at The Canterbury and we were not disappointed, there is a lot of choices on their menu and they have a good selection of beers and lagers.

Pub manager is horror and very dull person in the tewkesbury. Dirty any rooms. But the foods are good and service.

Popped in whilst car being serviced for an unplanned lunch. The place was relatively empty and not very clean. I was (sort of) met by a young man who was not very interested and said “sit anywhere mate”. I did, chose a burger and a coffee - it came, was edible, nothing special. The waitress was pleasant - but it seemed these 2 ‘youngsters’ were the entire staff. It was not bad, but not memorable and I have no plans to return. It has no character and serves predominantly grilled/fried pub grub and fair prices. Not my kind of place.

Had a great meal here with the family. For circa £30 we had two courses each for a family of four people plus drinks. I had a veggie burger, not my usual thing, but looked good, and it was fantastic. I had it doubled up but they only had one veggie patty left so they offered extra salad etc (great customer service) but I had it with another beef patty and it was great. Wife’s chicken curry was lovely and the boys cleaned the plates.

Very nice food. Beats the other pubs in Tewkesbury by miles. Staff lovely too. Pity the staff keep changing. Keep going as u know the standard never changes

Attended the new year's party which for 7 pound included a buffet and disco. I'd eaten before going but wish I hadn't as the buffet was stunning. Fresh salmon, blushing beef, prawns it was so much nicer than I expected. Add to this great bar service, drinks reasonably priced and a real party atmosphere and I had a great night.

Lovely macaroni cheese. Good value for money. Service quick. Not really had a bad meal here. Love the garden in the summer.

We went here for my Sons Birthday & everyone enjoyed their meals we went back a few days later for my Daughters. The kids meals are £2.99 or £3.49 to include a Caprisun & dessert, which to meal is excellent value compared to similar chains. The first time we went we opted to eat from the 'two for £12' menu both of which were a good size & were very nice. The Second time we went we both had a burger meal & added a pint for £1.50, my partner also added a portion of hash browns to her chicken burger for just 79p. Both times we went our meals were well under £40 for a family of four including drinks. We are now looking forward to going back in the summer when the kids will also be able to play on the play area there. The one let down for me was that I was expecting a better choice of ales with it being a Greene King Pub but all in all excellent value food & we will defiantly be going back.

Alojarse en el cercano y no Premier Inn muy impresionado con el brewer, basándose en la media milla hacia Tewkesbury y cayó en el Canterbury. El menú es lo que cabría esperar en un pub, pero la calidad de la comida que he tenido estaban muy por encima de la estándar. Con una excelente relación calidad-precio y comidas muy sabrosas, junto con un servicio amable y eficiente, espero ser un habitual de antes.

Struggled getting mum out of the car into her wheelchair sweltering hot day in June and went inside to order, before we had chance to speak was told by staff at end of the bar 'not doing food today' no reason why, as all the posters outside were stating 'food all day every day'

Average food on this particular evening. Cottage Pie was very dry and blackened on the edges. Did not look particularly appetising.

We stopped here to have something to eat and we were not disappointed,the young girl behind the bar (maddie)I think her name was, was so friendly and helpful,we didn't wait long for food steak and ale pie omg it was beautiful from the pastry to the filling not a bit of gristle on any of it,I would definitely recommend popping in,and you can guarantee if we are ever back in the area we will be back

This pub/restaurant has an excellent position just outside Tewkesbury on the main road close to the M5 motorway. The landlady is "funny" and often "taunts" customers in a friendly banter sort of way.

Went after shopping with the Mrs. Was not 100% sure when we walked in - but the beer was good, it had a good menu, was served reasonably quickly and I enjoyed it - cannot say more really - would go again

Canterbury Inn es ahora uno de nuestro pub que visitamos. Hoy decidimos reservar una mesa para el cumpleaños de mi madre en la ley. Resultó ser una elección excelente le encantó. Han decorado el mesa para como lo solicite. El personal y el gerente es muy amable y servicial. Excelente comida por un precio fantástico una gran relación calidad-precio. Tanto mi suegra y ella disfrutó de su comida y dijo lo fantástico que era. En general fue una gran noche la comida genial.

Food has improved. Getting busier than it used to be. Staff are friendly. Tends to be people who live locally and know each other. Has a good garden with tables in the summer.

Nos hemos alojado en y en torno a Tewkesbury durante varios años, y nunca nos aventuramos en el Canterbury antes, pero me hubiera gustado. Esto no es 'pijo' a comer buena comida bien preparada a excelentes precios. El restaurante está bien equipado con una combinación de mesas y sillas y cabinas y no te abarrotada. Hay un gran jardín para familias y muchas actividades para los niños. Visitamos dos veces semana y ambas veces estaba ocupado. Estamos ansiosos de comidas más allí en nuestra próxima visita Tewkesbury.

La comida es buena, caliente, caliente platos, servidos con rapidez y con un personal muy amable. Su forma parte de una cadena hotelera ahora, Greene King pub - así que el menú es estándar para GK Inns.
