Canova Hall in Lambeth

Called in for coffee and ended up staying for lunch. Food was superb. The vegan Po Boy was seriously delicious as was the fried aubergine both from the sharing menu. We had five star service from Georgina who was helpful, efficient and very cheerful. When you’re in Brixton Canova Hall is the place to go.

Sarah was amazing!!! We had a wonderful time for my friend’s birthday. She was lovely and helpful. The team was lovely 🥰

Tuvimos un increíble brunch sin fondo en Canova Hall, y una gran parte de eso fue gracias al increíble servicio de Emilia y Macieyk! Desde el momento en que llegamos, eran cálidos, amables y atentos, asegurándonos de que nuestras bebidas siempre estaban recargadas y que teníamos todo lo necesario. Su energía y entusiasmo hicieron que toda la experiencia fuera aún más agradable, y manejaron a nuestro grupo con tanta profesionalidad y encanto. La comida era deliciosa, las bebidas fluían a la perfección, y el ambiente era fantástico — pero fueron Emilia y Macieyk que realmente hicieron nuestra visita inolvidable. Si vas a Canova Hall, espero que tengas la suerte de que te cuiden. Sin duda volveremos!

Single workers hogging booths make it almost impossible to find some where to sit and eat . I don’t understand why the venue allow people to sit and work on their lap tops for hours on end and just ordering a coffee.We had to sit on a small cafe table which was difficult as it was just where you would want a coffee

Llevo casi dos semanas decepcionada, porque aunque el restaurante no está lleno el servicio de desayuno es muy lento y ya no es el mismo, la calidad de la comida no es sabrosa como siempre, y los ingredientes siempre están mal... a mi novio le encanta el ragù de especias pero la última vez en el almuerzo estaba casi seco, pasta demasiado cocida, y falta recotta en la parte superior. Espero que todo vuelva a ser como antes, era mi lugar favorito!

Cagué en el lugar para un descanso después de trabajar un día ocupado. Al entrar y aconsejar que solo necesitaba una bebida refrescante rápida me apuntaron hacia mesas libres, pero todavía no había sido atendida. Vi que la ubicación tenía pocos clientes, pero no estaba ocupado, así que pensé que la mesa se limpiaría rápidamente. Después de haber esperado durante 10 minutos sin que nadie se acercara a limpiar la mesa o tomar mi orden fui al bar y traté de contratar al mixólogo para preguntar si había alguien sirviendo. Entiendo que estaba ocupado pero que lo miraran detenido y luego lo ignoraran era demasiado. Entonces vi que había una sesión de fotos para anunciar los cócteles, pero incluso entonces los gerentes estaban demasiado ocupados para hablar con un mero cliente. Vi que había un personal de servicio trabajando que inicialmente me dirigió a una mesa, pero incluso ella no se acercó. Qué decepcionante encontrar lo que solía ser un buen lugar para relajarse se ha vuelto tan desagradable

L’endroit très grunge, musique agréable, service agréable. Boissons au top, tout comme le service. Thanks a lot Charlie Nice smyle :)

Personnel adorable et brunch délicieux : œufs, potatoes poulet … le cadre est industriel moderne et n oubliez pas la visite des toilettes : dans leur jus!

We had the absolute displeasure of coming here on Saturday for friends birthday. This was the first time I would be meeting my friends other friends and so there was lots of people who didn't know each other - naturally one wants to be able to properly talk, convivially get to know one another. This was impossible because of the deafening volume of the music. Despite being mainly a sit down pizza place and cocktail bar where no one, I repeat, no one, was dancing, they insisted on having this impossibly loud music. I appreciate that it was a Saturday night, so didn't expect a quiet atmosphere but was astonished when I asked if it could be turned down just a little that this cannot be done. On further enquiry I spoke to the extremely rude manager who basically off handedly and bitc‎hily yelled "we've been doing this for 7 years, we know what we're doing!". They really don't care and have zero hospitality. The level of volume cannot be safe either from a healthy and safety perspective for staff, who by the way apart from one barman looked utterly miserable and stressed. The pizzas were expensive and mediocre. The drinks obscenely priced even for London. And lastly the toilets were filthy and overflowing with faeces and remained that way all night - see picture. This place is very keen to be hip, but has no substance or class.

A hidden gem in Brixton. Tucked away from the main high street but still close to the buzz, Canova Hall is perfect for meeting friends, grabbing a bite to eat, getting some laptop work done or even a date. What makes this place truly special is the lovely Estera. Her warm and genuine hospitality makes you feel right at home. She brightens the place on a rainy or gloomy day. It's so rare that you get people who really understand customer service nd always refreshing when you get to experience it. I hope Caova Hall know the have a superstar working for then. I will be back to see her again.

A nice spot in Brixton, it feels more upmarket at first glance, but the service is POOR. We ordered a pot of tea to share, the order was taken by one waitress , while another brought the tea, but with one cup only. We asked her for another cup which she never brought (she looked like she had lost the will to live tbh). We had to ask the first waitress again (she seemed a bit more switched on). We considered ordering something else but eventually gave up. When the bill came, brought by a third waiter, we had been charged for FOUR pots of tea - apparently the till was faulty. Pretty shambolic experience overall. To add to this, the basement where the toilets are is always so dark, and feels damp and dirty. Seeing people's hands on the other side of the wall when washing your hands just feels odd, but some would call it quirky. Please put a light on in the basement and train/incentivise your waiting stuff to provide a sharper service.

The venue was exceptionally busy due to there being a gig at the O2 Academy Brixton which is close - despite this the staff remained as calm as they can and saw to everyone as quickly as they could. It also seemed every time a mistake was made this was rectified quickly. Leo was our waiter and he was especially lovely - customers were complaining left right and centre because they had to wait more than 10 mins for a drink, even though it was clear the staff were enormously stressed. We had a bottle of the house white + a margherita pizza each and everything was delicious.

Worst place ever. Waited 40 minutes for our drink order. Never gave any water either. No idea when the food is coming. The music was unbearably loud so can’t even talk. Rubbish.

Amazing service, the bartender was lovely and made the best cocktails! Had a great time with my friends for my birthday 🥳 Would highly recommend

Went around 11am 29th Aug...ordered Truffle Mushrooms on toast which was tasty with 2 eggs but got one which was a bit overdone..did have to wave and let waitress know it was my food as she took to other table and looked a bit lost...had a oat hot chocolate and soya latte which when bought had spillage down the mugs and went to wipe but seemed like they was old stains as picked it off...hot chocolate was so so but friends soya latte was lumpy like it had curdled..when she took it back the guy barrister was just making excuses why it was like that even saying thats how a soya latte is when made. Another one was bought over which was just brown water, so I took back and was told by the front of house girl that's what soya milk does .asked for a refund in the end which I got..interestingly about 10 mins later a customer also got up to take their drink back so it def was how it was being made or faulty machine...the guy to be honest looked like he didn't really want to be there..which seemed to reflect in the service. But have to say the waitress who bought the food to table was lovely..good customer service and friendly..a credit to an establishment that really is one of those gentrification creations ...boujie in Brixton good settings for the Insta...wouldn't go back ..ended going to Morleys and getting a way better coffee from Caffè Nero..

I had lunch earlie today with my brother and his business partners at Canova Hall which is a short walk from Clapham Junction Railway Station. It was my first visit but not so for my brother and his partners who - as Classic Menbers (£100 per annum which a range of attractive benefits) - patronise the property on a regular basis. Clearly they were not alone as the property was very busy. This was probably responsible for the relatively slow service but this didn’t detract too much from what was a most enjoyable lunch at what is a very convenient venue.

Lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff (especially Jeena)- the crispy chicken salad was so good, highly recommend!

We arrived for Sunday brunch . It looked nice & the waitress was friendly . We sat down . It felt a bit grubby ( glasses on the table didn’t look that clean ) . We waited a while to order coffee & food . The coffee arrived which was ok . I ordered mushrooms on sour dough having asked if I could have something else on the menu without the feta but with an egg instead but was told I couldn’t . My mushrooms on bread arrived which was pretty soggy . The worst thing was I had 2 hairs in my food . 1 long blond one & a short dark one on my plate !!!!! Disgusting . The waitress apologised . I won’t be coming back

Sophia was the best ever! Had the BEST time. Food was really tasty and service was exemplary - Sophia was such a darling. 10/10
