Visited the outside area, which is dog friendly. Food very good. Speedy service. BUT. so so busy, noisy and far from relaxing. Some lovely items in the Garden Center shop I was tempted to buy. Parking full and tricky at a weekend!

Went for cream tea. Sandwiches were amazing with the nicest bread I've eaten in a long time. Cakes were delicious and the accompanying tea was lovely. Had a wander round after and the shopping is small and specific so you know what your buying when you do. Outside area was well stocked and the pet section is great for a treat or toy for the dog.

The cafe - We came here for a birthday lunch and the food was exceptional, very tasty and delicious will definitely be back again. Garden centre - great variety of products to look at and ended up getting a couple of bits (dog treats, terracotta pumpkin just in time for Halloween, some garden thing too). Will definitely be back here again, is not very far from home too which is good .

Five star service from the woman working in Barbour, unfortunately massively let down by your rude and patronising checkout staff. You need to review your returns policy, as just firmly offering a credit note valid for 6 months is not acceptable, especially for someone who doesn't live locally. If it was a small purchase, I wouldn't mind, but we had just spent nearly £600 on various items today. Wouldn't recommend purely after that experience.

What a lovely cafe! The dog friendly side is called the Terrace. It is lovely. You have the option to sit on the high chairs or on the benches. It is all enclosed so it doesn’t feel like you’re sat outside. We had a toasted baguette and a sandwich. It didn’t disappoint. I would recommend this for anyone with a dog. We loved it!

Nice little garden centre to visit. Bistro closed at the moment. A tad on the dear side, but the products are good and can give you a lot of ideas. Usually visit when we go to Cannon Hall park and farm. Everything open and appears very popular. Nice garden centre and bistro

TBH the atmosphere is a little stuffy and customer service is not one of its assets. Toilets are on a pin number and is only available to cafeteria customers. Car parking, blue badge is changed be careful and is very limited space. Prices are competitive for most plants and shrubs some of the associated products are pretty expensive.

Garden Centre is good but the restaurant is what we went for, We ate inside although there is outside seating. Very nice food with quit a varied menu, prawn sandwich was well filled, too much for aged parents but doggie bags available from very helpful efficient and friendly staff. My lemon & herb baguette was very good Met family for breakfast recently, food was excellent especially my eggs royal special. Although busy we could hold a conversation without shouting thanks to the baffles on the ceiling. Much prefer this restaurant to Rob Royd farm shop as the ambiance is so much better for chatting and the food equally good, if not better. This restaurant is becoming our choice for a family breakfast meet up... good food and a very nice atmosphere Called for breakfast today and food was as good as ever. There has been one problem since we started using this restaurant, the outside area was sometimes smelly due to a stagent river feeding Cannon Hall lake. It wasn't a problem inside but affected the outside areas when the weather was good. I noticed today that the river has been cleaned up and there is now a strong flow so the likelihood of smelly stagnet water is eliminated, brilliant and makes outside dining a real option when it's warm. Worth 5* Another breakfast with family, excellent special, pancakes, bacon and maple syrup

The on site restaurant on site has been let down by an extremely un helpful, jobsworth of an employee. My small children were visibly upset from having to put their chat down. The lady serving at the counter refused to allow us to have breakfast 4 minutes past the finish time, despite admitting she’d just done it for the person in front of me who I assume hadn’t got 2 upset children. Then to show how much they value custom they respond to a Google review without any empathy or emotion.

Covid and 2 kids later we eventually got around to starting it; when we realised the card was due to expire the next day! 🤦♀️ It was the old style card and didn’t like being swiped at check out. Jill who served us called the number on the back to try and resolve our issue. After a good 10minutes she managed to sort us out. So pleased we got some plants for our new home 😊 it halved our bill too! Thanks Jill!

I'm writing as I've visited there before but wanted to share My 'opinion' and that is all these comments, on reviews, are?! YOUR opinions. I think customers need to be mindful that slating staff, can have a detrimental affect to those they refer to. In my opinion, NOT ALL customers are 'pleasant' either... so maybe consider staff who you may treat as a 'servant' sometimes who have to 'grin and Bear' those rude customers too?! We are all human and hospitality is hard work, underpaid and challenging at times!! I find some of the points, in previous mentioned reviews such as 'Fish21' and 'Lesley Shaw's quite rude. Try put yourself in others shoes and be constructive with your reviews, not demeaning!!

We used to love the food at Thyme Bistro so called today for breakfast. The menu I looked at yesterday showed breakfast at £6.95 when we got there it was over £12 think menus online need updating. Instead we had bacon and sausage sandwich, it was terrible the bacon was tough and must have been cooked for ages and the sausage was so small, weren’t even chipolata size. I left half of mine as not fit to eat. When we were leaving I complained that we wouldn’t be back and the girl said you should have sent it back!! What to get the same thing again don’t think so!, very dissatisfied.

We have been several times and always been impressed with the food, but today was a shadow of what we have experienced in the past. The staff were, on the whole, very short with us (pulling faces at my grandmother who is admittedly a bit doddery) and the quality of the food was poor. I had the meat and potato pie that had literally two small chunks of potato in it, and the pastry was so undercooked that I could have used it as wallpaper paste.

We come here a lot and I have to say the food is always very good, coffee is decent however, the staff really infuriate me. Every-time we come they act like they are above people, they look down on people and don’t seem to understand we are paying their wages. Before you ask why we come often considering this it’s simply for convenience, we love cannon hall and all it has to offer so it’s convenient to pop in for food or sometimes just a coffee and cake. We have spent a lot of money here over the years on the garden centre and clothes shop but it is starting to get very frustrating. They also need to find a better system for waiting customers who are out on a waiting list and asked to just wait in the garden centre to be called however if you wait too close to the entrance you are scolded like school children and asked to move away, it seems like a rue to get you to spend whilst waiting. Why can’t you just call to book like normal restaurants? Please treat your staff to some customer service training and get them to show the customer some love 🥰
