My husband and I got married here on 16th March 2024 and it was incredible! The staff worked tirelessly all day to make our day the most amazing day. They could not have done enough for us and we can’t recommend this venue highly enough! The food from the canapés, to the wedding breakfast and finally the wood fired pizza oven were absolutely delicious and so many of our guests commented the same! The portions were plentiful and piping hot! I hope future couples read this review and their minds are put at ease because the previous negative reviews just don’t ring true to us or our day!! Can’t wait to come back for our anniversaries!

Went here for a wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. Stayed there and was great , food was amazing and staff were very friendly

The setting looks amazing and is really peaceful. The apartment I was in was spacious and modern but it had a pretty bad damp problem. The TV reception was spotty and the WiFi was pretty dreadful across the whole venue (I know I should be watching a wedding but come on it's 2023). Breakfast at the little cafe - food was good although a little slow. The wedding breakfast food was pretty poor. Overall very nice venue but perhaps not run as well as it deserves.

I only went last night for wedding rehearsals. The staff were so helpful. Came as we arrived asking if we needed anything. Also, all throughout. So helpful, I had a good look around, got my bearings, love this place. I'm so excited for the big day Friday. 🤗 had lunch there Tuesday visiting. It's such a peaceful place.

Attended a friend's wedding. The room for the ceremony was stunning, and then the room for the wedding breakfast was just amazing. The staff worked hard and were very professional, courteous, and helpful. This was our first time to visit Canada Lodge. Our friends could not have chosen a better venue to invite us to share their special day.

Beautiful place to get married in. I went for an open day for the wedding venue and it was amazing to see the lake, the greenery around the place and the place itself. The wedding hall is decent size - looks to accommodate 100 people easily. The hall downstairs is a even bigger. There is lots of space available if you prefer an outdoor setting.

Beautiful setting and friendly staff but disappointed at the bar. No soft drinks available at Rhodri's and very expensive too.

Rodri's Food was poor, small plates and something out of an airfryer and the salad was limp and thrown tigether by a child.. not fab, 45 minute wait, supposed to be table service but this didn't happen and as you can see from the pics it wasn't exactly busy !! Had to go to the counter each time to order anything like asking for cutlery and condiments... shame really as a lovely setting but who ever is managing this is letting the rest of the business down.

Great wedding venue. Stayed the night in a lodge. Place was spotlessly clean.

We had our wedding at Canada Lodge in March 2023 and it was everything we wanted it to be and more. The layout of the venue is perfect for everyone to be all together but not feel cramped, the scenery is beautiful and the food and drink were amazing. From the planning stages to the day itself, the staff at the lodge were helpful and friendly, every question, no matter how silly was answered quickly and with a smile. I highly recommend Canada Lodge as a wedding venue.

Have attended one wedding here. The venue is amazing, but i think a recent change over of management or a change around in staff meant lots of changes to the wedding package for the bride and groom, frustrating communication, last minute package details cancelled, then allowed again and an increase in prices wherever possible! Which a lot of couples have been upset with and caused this bride and groom a lot of stress. Their reputation definitely wasn't upheld on this occasion. They are very much a wedding business and pinch or grab every penny they can, but definitely lack appreciation that this is someones big day, that couples are stressed, need help, updates, understanding, professionalism, flexibility and kindness. They need to be careful about keeping their good reputation as recently I have seen a lot of negative feedback on social platforms too. They need a much tighter (and nicer) wedding team to do better in the future.

A lovely venue for weddings, have been here as a guest, photographer and fishing at the lake. The facilities are great and staff is very helpful. Recommended for weddings, set up is great and lots of space for family and friends.

I photographed Veronika and Glen's beautiful Slovak / Wales wedding day this past spring here. I highly recommend it. The lake makes for great wedding photos, beautiful scenery! Staff was friendly and willing to help from the moment we arrived. The wedding party and guests raved about the quality of the meals and the variety of beverage options. Great experience! Was invited to a wedding. First time I've been there. It was lovely as it was wintery weather which suited the venue with the surrounding lodges. The bar staff were lovely and very friendly.

I came here as a wedding photographer and I have to say it lives up to the hype and then some! Every single corner both inside and outside is extremely wedding photo album worthy. The staff are all really nice and a pleasure to work alongside which as a supplier helps immensely. I cannot wait to come back here soon!

Celebrated a family wedding on the 15th October, the venue it self is stunning with great views over looking the lake.The staff I came into contact with was friendly,the ceremony room was beautifully decorated. The food was very disappointing although the main coarse tasted lovely the portion sizes on all 3 coarse were not sufficient at all.The starter was pate with a finger slice of toast,the main was a very small slice of pork, one floret of broccoli, one carrot & 3 green beans & little bit of mash,it was just big enough for a toddler not an adult.If this had been my wedding I would certainly requested some refund for the lack of food.

Had my daughter's wedding here and as a venue Canada lodge is stunning however there was a couple of downs the first one being one of the wine glass,s we broughtfor the happy couple was smashed by the lodge it would not be too bad but they were not cheap however accidents do happen but still waiting to hear of outcome .The socond point which is the big one the meal was not what was ordered the first course was supposed to be a parfett whereas they gave us a Patti the main meal was supposed to be honey roast pork of which was ordinary pork along with a very small portion of mash and I mean small one small carrot three small green beans and a one piece of broccoli as father of the bride I had alot of guest tell me how bad it was and the fact it would not even satisfy a child well infact we did have several small children and yes even they were still hungry afterwards the pudding though it was a bread pudding was no where near the standard expected in all for what was payed per head we got a meal which was only worth about £20 a head and that is being generous even a Michelin star chef which was amoug our guests was totally shocked at what was served for the price we payed it was totally different from the tasting menu as father of the bride the venue the staff was great the rooms lovely but the food was a major let down but will up date this review when I hear of the out come from my daught

We got married at Canada Lodge in June 2022 and it really was the best day of our lives. We fell in love with the venue on our first visit there in 2019 and couldn’t have imagined getting married anywhere else. All of our guests commented on how beautiful it was. All the staff go above and beyond before the wedding day and on the day itself. We would like to especially thank Delyth and Hollie who were absolutely amazing. Highly highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a South Wales wedding venue.

My uncle & wife chose this location for their wedding in June - it was perfect. The location is easy to find and well sign posted. The grounds are beautiful - breathtaking views. There is plenty of photo opportunities to get the perfect wedding shots. Lots of local hotels nearby for anyone wanting to stay over. All in all, a fabulous location!

Wow! What a weekend we had. From the moment my bridal party and I got there the day before the wedding, the staff couldn't do more for us. On the day of the wedding was no change, every single member of staff was so kind and accommodating even calming me down before I walked down the aisle. Thank you so much, the word stunning does not do this venue justice. If you are thinking of getting married here do it!! Special shout outs to Beth for calming me down, Holly for just being so friendly and kind and all the other staff who were just amazing. Thank you for giving us the day of our dreams!

Well what can we say about Canada Lodge and Lake that would do the venue and Nicola and her team justice? Sally and I got married here on 8th June 2022 in Rhodri's and we had the most amazing day ever 🥰💕 All the staff were amazing from the maintenance team to the bar staff, from the servers and chefs to the wedding coordinators. What a wonderful team you have there, you should be so proud! For a venue that mostly delivers weddings, you had the ability to make us feel like we were the only wedding you have ever done. You made us feel so unique and special 💖 A particular mention to Jasmine and Lee who looked after us on the day. We cannot thank you enough for making our day perfect, you were both amazing and so organised, reassuring and calming on the day. Also a mention to Delyth who looked after us at breakfast time, always nice to see a friendly face when you're a little worse for wear! The breakfast was just what we needed 😋 The venue is absolutely stunning, so beautiful and we were blessed with fine weather ☀️ The food in the day was wonderful, so well presented and so tasty. The rooms and lodges are first class, so well kitted out with beautiful views overlooking the lake, all our guests loved them. We had a perfect day in a perfect venue and cannot recommend highly enough. I cannot think of a better venue to get married in, or for your guests to enjoy, absolutely fantastic. What a beautiful place to exchange wedding vows. The food is absolutely top notch The accomodation relaxing and super clean.

What a beautiful place for a wedding so close to Cardiff! And you can stay in the lodges, although we didn't so no idea on prices. Nice seating area outside although there were mosquitoes this time of year. Occasionally there was that Spanish hot day sewer smell too! But staff were lovely, beer selection was OK and bar prices reasonable! Dancefloor just the right size and the DJ that was there was great too!

Visited here for a wedding. Not too big, not too small a venue. Lovely scenes for photos and fireworks

From the moment we drove down the long welcoming entrance, we knew this venue was the one for us. Open car parking space, leading to the wooden lodge overlooking a lake with two impressive fountains. Canada lodge is the perfect mix of outdoor meets indoor for a venue, with all-inclusive wedding day potential and accommodation to make this a dream combination to some couples. To think its tucked away just outside Cardiff! The venue has been extremely accommodating and easy to work with, despite a global pandemic, no request or question was too much or left un-responded to. The whole day was contained in the main lodge with the ceremony upstairs and wedding breakfast located directly below. Good overall accessibility to the site and mobility around it were key for some of our guests, and we were relived to find this catered for. We wanted to go further with our food on the day, and we were difficult to please no doubt – asking for things outside of the norm. However Canada Lodge rose to the challenge and it’s catering team and head chef Vasanth, worked with us to create bespoke beautiful canapés and a carvery style banquet for the wedding breakfast. The staff were always polite, kind, and happy to help. We had an amazing service from beginning to end, starting notably with the wonderful Hollie and her impressive event team on the day and this continued to the day with the front of house team lead impressively by Delyth – who worked all day to ensure we were happy and comfortable. The day went without a hitch thanks to the hard work of all those at Canada Lodge. We want to say a very special thank you to Hollie for the hard work and dedication she put in to making our day, bespoke, organised and understood by all. If you’re looking for a venue with a difference that guests will remember for a long time to come, then look no further. Thank you to all those at Canada lodge for being the most amazing venue for our special day. Joe and Mark.

Great location and a great views as well. Benefits from being close to the City to be accessible but far enough away to be an oasis of calm.

Absolutely amazing the most perfect wedding venue in South Wales

Lovely Wedding Venue with amazing Staff but accommodation totally overpriced at £150 per night. Stayed following a wedding (obviously late finish) and had to vacate by 10.30am with breakfast finishing at 10am. Silly little pots of milk for tea/coffee, not enough for 2 coffee's! (Why not put a pint in the fridge!) Tried to watch BBC news on TV but in order to do so you need to sign into iplayer via internet with a code!! Cheap and nasty pillows. Ants crawling on table where tea/coffee located. Electric operated curtains didn't fully close so had to complete manually so pointless! Too many other gripes to mention... won't be staying again.

Attended my friend's wedding here as a bridesmaid. The staff were fantastic. The location is beautiful and the food was lovely. We also stayed in the cabin on the night of the wedding. The accomodation was very comfortable and it was so handy to be on location - especially with a young baby to look after. The breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. Can't fault it. A lovely day and a lovely stay.

Absolutely beautiful venue for a wedding, staff excellent, nice rooms, but lots of niggling issues - lift not working, was the worst, and with 2 people with disabilities, 1 of the 2 hot tubs not working, both issues, only found out day before. breakfast was terrible, slow service, 1 HR 20 mins in total

Beautiful location and lodges for a wedding or any celebration

Visited for a family wedding and the site is stunning. The facilities are excellent, with a lake in the middle full of trout and lovely wood cottages around it. Would highly recommend the place for any functions.

Attended my friends wedding, was such a beautiful venue and staff were very great. Only thing i didn't like was that when everyone got served there meal so there starter first kids had to wait until they had there main to have there food so they had to sit around and watch other eat which I thought was quiet bad.. I think they should introduce a starter main and dessert for the kids as they were starving and having to watch and wait until others ate and finished. Apart from that that lovely venue

Lovely looking grounds, fantastic building and lake, huge fish as well. However a very rude staff member who served us, minutes after arriving, we were extremely polite but he was very rude. Really set our feelings about the place.

Attended a wedding on Thursday the 12 August. Of a very close friend. Found the venue. Absolutely perfect and stunning. Staff and venue could not be faulted in any way. Stayed the night room in spotless condition and very comfortable. Breakfast also excellent

Went to a wedding here yesterday and it was really fantastic. Such a beautiful setting and the facilities were great. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was glorious and the room we stayed in was lovely with a great view over the lake.

Beautiful wedding venue with two floors, a lake and log cabin accommodation. We had a lovely time at our friend's wedding. Could have been more drinks on tap at the bar, bur I think this was more the fault of covid than Canada Lodge having a small range. Food was really yummy and the location is stunning. Plus venue is about a 20-30 minute drive from Cardiff city center. Also the floral swing is the perfect place for an insta worthy selfie and now I just want one in my life at all times

Great wedding day and experience. Lovely lake. Hot tubs could do with maintaining is my only recommendation, and the room curtains are full of surprises!
