Can Do Cocina in Stafford

We had a lovely lunch after a dog walk. The food was great and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

If you’re thinking about ordering food here DONT! The meat tastes unseasoned and I cared for. As someone who has worked with food you can taste the love and care that’s made alongside with your dish, I can sadly say this isn’t the same for can do cocina. It made me have an upset stomach and left a horrible strong taste in my mouth of tinned tomato taste, unseasoned beef and horrible taste of oil. Where does all the oil come from, your face? It honestly tastes atrocious. For the price of one meal you could make your whole family a banging meal at home with better taste and care. We never had anyone come up to us and ask us if we were all okay and happy with our food. The service was poorer than a beggar on the streets of Stoke. Id also like to add I noticed they microwave their meatballs, probably why I got so ill and tasted like my dogs diarrhoea. If you have infants don’t come here, you’ll be having a hospital trip in the next hour. The bar looks like it’s falling apart as well. May I add the what I assume to be the head chef looked majorly depressed and like he hated his job, says a lot if the dishes and state of this restaurant is the way it is. Only good thing they serve is drinks, but still expensive for what it is. Further more, find a better restaurant or just sit back at home and cook a meal that’s worthy to serve. NEVER EATING HERE AGAIN.

Unfortunately not a great experience. Plenty of staff but just sort of standing at the pass waiting for food to take out rather than taking drinks orders. (Member of staff was stood doing nothing for so long the person who I am assuming was the manager sat at a table doing admin got up to ask if we want a drink then went to tell that member of staff our order) I did eat here in December 2021 and the food was lovely but this time I did not enjoy my meal, all our dishes came out with a large time difference, the meatballs in tomato sauce were so bland it just tasted like a tin of tomatoes had been used , not really a sauce. Patatas Bravas were just about cooked last time they were crispy and the sauce was delicious but these were also very bland. It seems that it is hard to go out and receive decent service now. Drinks order should be taken within five minutes , when drinks arrive at least ask if anyone is ready to order food and when the customer asks you to take a food order and you go off to get your pad and you get side tracked helping another customer , instead of standing at the bar correcting someone's bills and ignoring other customers why not ask of of the other three members of staff doing nothing to take the order. No one asked if everything was OK with the meal. Wish I would have left when the drinks order wasn't being taken its a sign of bag things to come. Ate our meal because I really can't be bothered having the awkward conversation of food and service being poor. Better food can be made at home and in future I will just eat out less often but at better restaurants like Lunar at Wedgewood , more expensive but value for money wise it runs rings around anywhere in stoke.

ABSOLUTELY Wicked - delicious tapas, amazing service, you tell this venue is full of love and joy, the staff WANT to be here and so do the customers. We’ll be back 100%

We had a lovely night Jess was fantastic such a great service from her even though really busy.We chose from the Tapas menu which was delicious the chefs were brilliant lovely wines at a reasonable price. Definitely will go again.

Away from the masses for a quiet mid morning break, cappuccino at Can do Cocina has a delicious depth of flavour for a fair price. On this damp day I sat inside where it was warm, cosy, and clean. Staff are customer orientated with fast service from Georgina. Excellent.

My favourite restaurant in Stoke on Trent! A little taste of Spain in Staffordshire. I am a Spanish teacher in the local area and have recommended this restaurant to all of my students who absolutely love it here too. Having lived in Spain, the food here is just as good as tapas I have had in Spain- if not better! Great value for money and a lovely place to eat. Thank you too all the staff!

This is a good place to eat for Stoke, but the food doesn’t, I’m afraid, stand up well to Manchester or London comparisons. Having said that we did find the waiting staff very welcoming (Stoke is v v friendly) and helpful when we joined them for an early dinner (we were staying at the Premier Inn opposite and wanted to eat outside in the lovely evening). We had a perfectly fine dinner with beer and wine and a sit in the sun. Outside tables are good for people watching and a bit quieter than inside too if you prefer that. There were a few things on the menu not available which was a shame, the fish in particular, but we were able to assemble some plates. We were allowed to take our time and weren’t rushed off the table either. A nice evening and good value.

Very indifferent service,long wait to be acknowledged, slow service after ordering. Attitude issue on service. Was going to order food but put off by the above. Just got 2 coffees (no sugar supplied had to get it ourselves)and went elsewhere.

Made a reservation for 6 the night before.Arrived and was seated quickly and our drinks orders swiftly taken. As we were getting our drinks the restaurant filled up, however we didn’t have to wait too long for our food orders to be taken. The waitress was really helpful. The wait time for food was slightly longer but we put this down to how busy they were. The tapas food was amazing and everybody enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

I feel really bad for giving this review but feel I have to be honest. I don't think this is a reflection on the owners but maybe the staff they employ. Arrived and waited 15 minutes to be seated. Then another 15 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. The place was empty so not like the staff were busy. Then to be told food we had already decided to order was on not on the menu. Bearing in mind the tapas menu is only small any way which would have been fine if all items were available. Food was nice no problem with that at all. I think if they could arrange staff and stock level would definitely be a 4/5. Can't expect people to return if they don't have an initial good start especially when arriving and not even been a knowledged for 15 minutes.

Booked a table for 18:30, waited 20 odd minutes for a drink and we’re then advised that 5 of the 10/11 tapas dishes were sold out after we ordered. Then cancelled the order, and comically the food still arrived. Nice enough girls working there but no management leading. Quite frankly pathetic that they ran out of fries, that really topped it off. All in all a complete waste of time…. Giving the 2 stars because the staff were nice. Apart from that this restaurant doesn’t deserve to be open, never mind deserving of a star. And really enjoyed the 3 out of 4 beers on the menu being crossed out. Bloody awful.

The food was amazing as always and the service. I tried a strawberry daiquiri was delicious. Thank you! I really recommend.

Looked OK but we weren’t shown to a table, rather we were given a menu and pointed to some free tables. Drinks (including tap water) didn’t arrive until food had started to arrive (and I’m not sure whether my asking caused it to arrive or it was already on its way). A number of items we selected were not available but they didn’t appear to be busy. It is a tapas bar so I expect food to arrive in the order it appears but I do hope the bread will be one of first dishes. I don’t expect to be told when I ask about it that they can’t make the type of “flat bread” I requested, such that we had nearly finished by the time we arrived. Getting the list of alternative types out of the waitress was like pulling teeth. By the way on piece of plain flat bread for £4.00 didn’t seem like good value, nor given how crisp it was much help when eating tapas. The food that we did get was OK for “chain” Tapas but not great. The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful, I just think they need better training. There were 4 front of house staff. I didn’t count the occupied tables but I would guess ten (may be less) there shouldn’t have been a problem, yet there was. Glasses from the tables were stacked on the bar awaiting washing, it didn’t look good and seemed to substantiate my dissatisfaction with getting the drinks after our food. We were not the only frustrated table and the waitress could be heard apologising several times. All in all the place seemed to lack energy. I have to apologise to them because I’m doing what i say I won’t which is write a poor review having been asked if everything was alright and in true English fashion mumble yes. Though the staff knew it wasn’t, I saw the “manageress” disable the gratuity option before she handed me the card reader! They need to be better organised, I think they had enough staff, I’m not sure what was wrong but it wasn’t clicking.
