Superb! Excellent Italian food and service. Amazing value for money, best Italian restaurant in Balham area. I have been a few times and I will definitely go back!

This is the perfect place for a meal out. We went for a date night, and Giuseppe was so kind, welcoming and sweet. The food was nothing short of fantastic and the vibe was authentic and cosy. We can’t wait to return. The prices are also super reasonable.

My boyfriend and I had dinner on Friday evening up at the counter (my fav spot!) and it was sublime as ever, made all the more charming by the lovely Giuseppe who served us!!! Caprese and bruschetta to start with, and the ragu for both of us with a lovely bottle of Chianti. Delicious. A fav spot in Balham to which I’ve gone to many times and have never been disappointed.

We took three young children here one Saturday afternoon and had excellent service. The food was genuine Italian and with generous portions. The antipasta platter was particularly good. They dealt with the family really well.

Been meaning to try this place for years LOL! Glad I did because the food was exceptional! 10/10. Amazing pasta, amazing pizza. Carbonara Pizza and Duck Ragù 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 the best. Service was just great too. Great value for money !

We had a fantastic take away on this occasion, having eaten in a couple of times before. The pizzas are really delicious and a generous size - where else can you get a great margarita pizza for £7.50?! We had a couple of pasta dishes too, the ragu spaghetti was incredible. This is the best Italian in Balham and the staff are really lovely too.

Went to Caminata for dinner last Thursday and had an amazing experience. The staff was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable. The food arrived quickly and tasted delicious. It was not too greasy, nor heavy, and tasted fresh. I would come back again to try different pasta and pizza options.

Pizza has gone downhill Burata pizza. Where is the actual burata? Total rip off, with dribbled burata milk / water (see photos) Shameful --------------- Hard and dry flavourless crust, wet, limp and soggy base. More like whole-wheat than sourdough. Used to be a good pizza, but a bunch of us went recently and we all commented at how it had changed. I won't be recommending it anymore, unfortunately.

I booked for 10 people for my birthday . The dinner went smoothly and food was great but they definitely need to improve their service. After we had the cake Giuseppe came to the table with the bill saying that they have another table booked at 9pm ( waiting outside ) . This ruined the atmosphere as he was pushing me to leave the table . I didn't even had the time to look through the bill as he was waiting with The card machine looking at me . Apparently they give 2 hours slot but this hasn't been communicated to me when I booked in fact I thought I could stay a bit longer and not be thrown out ! On top they added 12% service charge without me knowing ( restaurant should always state that when you book) and when I mentioned to Giuseppe that I wasn't happy to pay the full service charge he basically forced me to pay it!Which is against the law!!! Sorry I never leave feedback but this experience left me very unsatisfied!

The best pasta in SW London. I live up the road and nip in all the time for takeaway pizza and pasta on the way home, and have taken lots of friends here for a sit down meal as well. The whole menu is brilliant, service is friendly, and it has a great atmosphere. Would 100% recommend, it’s a highlight restaurant for the area and is worth travelling for if you aren’t a local.

6/10 Quite good pizza. Price was fair to slightly over expensive. Location: nice area, parallel to the busy high street. Service: one waiter was a bit pushy with upselling drinks which slightly soured the experience, the rest were very attentive and friendly. Caprino pizza 6.5/10 Porchetto pizza 6/10 £33.60 for two people, no drinks.

I’ve travelled a lot around the world. This is one of the best experiences i have ever encountered - it was not jus a meal. The food was splendid.

Honestly wonderful. Ive walked by this place many times and not prioritised so dont make that mistake. It is great food, with top hospitality service and great prices. We have been to highly rated places that were disappointing and Caminata is far from that. Home cooked food and great flavours with no pretentiousness. Giuseppe, Nico and Carola were top at service so bottom line you should visit this place. Loved it all. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

This place is the real deal - an actual hidden gem 💎 Booked about two weeks in advance for a 7pm dinner and I’m glad we did - the restaurant was completely full by 7:30. Service was amazing - attentive but not over bearing, friendly but not annoying. Drinks are well priced and quick to come out, the food options are varied and really well priced. We had olives and truffle burrata and a bottle of wine to start, shared a pasta and pizza for the main, and had cocktails and tiramisu for the dessert. Came to about £120 including tip for about two hours in the restaurant. Fantastic evening and will definitely be returning!

As per the title. Sadly had to give up gluten a few years back and I’ve been searching for decent gluten free pizza ever since. Caminata’s is something else. Do they buy in it? Do they make it? Who knows but it’s ridiculously good.

We came across this place through Balham Newsie on Instagram and as local residents, it didn’t disappoint! Food was incredibly yummy and fresh and service was 10/10! Decorated lovely inside giving off holiday vibes! We have booked to come back!

Absolutely 10/10. The food was just brilliant! We loved the atmosphere of the place, it was busy but staff were really attentive! Giuseppe made our evening. He is full of amazing stories and we had such a laugh! He really makes the place unique! How lucky to have this place right on the doorstep, I’ll be rushing back!

Wonderful food, great service and enjoyable (cozy) atmosphere. The pastas and pizza were delicious (my husband is still talking about the pizza crust). The cocktails were also very good and the house made tiramasu was wonderful, as were the other desserts.

Nasty bland no seasoning in the food ...dont get why its packed ...must be the atmosphere as its nice and bright always busy with customers talking and laughing x

wow amazing! We went this Friday and the food was incredible. We will definitely be returning or ordering a takeaway. I have allergies and the team were very helpful and knowledgeable. Gluten free pasta was delicious too. It was a shame the gluten free pizza were out of stock, so look forward to trying next time. Despite the place being very busy staff were attentive and food came out swiftly. We had 2 starters, 2 mains, bottle of wine and dessert and came to about £48 each.

I absolutely love this place! If I ever feel like having a tasty authentic homely Italian meal, this is my go to. The staff is so friendly, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is really nice and chilled. If you’re a meat lover like me, then I recommend having the al carne pizza (extra truffle on top!)

Booked table for three a fair while ago but ended up cramped round a table big enough for two right at the back of the restaurant a bit too close to the top of the staircase Food is ok. Decent pizza, lasagne a bit dry and £25 for cheapest wine a bit punchy . All felt a bit harassed and chaotic . Noting bad but nothing great

My favourite Italian in London (and I lived in Italy for a year). The staff are so friendly and charming, always making everyone laugh. We live in Balham and come here all the time. It’s always a great evening there. Really nice atmosphere and fresh authentic food. You have to book in advance because it’s so popular. You absolutely have to try their tiramisu- it’s a masterpiece.

Been here last summer with a couple of friends and we enjoyed the dinner a lot, but the company of Giuseppe was something unbeatable and he made our night! Food is just amazing and the atmosphere is truly Italian.

The best and most reliable Italian in London in my opinion. Every meal here over the last 5 years has been of the same very high standard, the pizzas in particular are the best around - service is always perfect, you absolutely must try here.
