veramente pessimo dall'accoglienza al Direttore che si sente importante e non ti dà neanche un saluto ci hanno portato una carbonara tutta attaccata e una cacio e pepe completamente con Llosa abbiamo fatto riferimento al Direttore via camerieri, ma la loro risposta è che non gli interessava perché tanto sono sempre pieni se volete scrivete una mail così ci hanno risposto vergognoso

Fui a última hora con un amigo mío para cenar, el personal nos encontró una mesa agradable fuera y tuvimos la mejor carbonara de la historia 😍

An absolute shocker of an experience. The carbonara arrived completely stuck together, like it had been cooked hours ago and just left to dry out. The service was just as bad – the waiters couldn't have been less interested, even saying they were too busy to bother with us. The whole place feels like a rundown, old-school Italian trattoria from the '80s, but without any of the charm. The quality of the food was seriously lacking, everything tasted stale and poorly made. And don't even get me started on the cacio e pepe – I literally saw them drop it on the kitchen floor, and they just picked it up with their hands and thought I'd eat it. When I brought this up with the manager, he actually told me, 'If you don't like it, there's the door. We're always packed anyway.' Great attitude, mate, really top management skills. They even brag about being owned by some Italian actor. Well, stick to acting, mate – the restaurant business clearly ain't your thing. Definitely one to avoid

Authentic Italian restaurant with italian staff, traditional italian dishes and wonderful pizza that was pleasing both the eye and the mouth. I am italian and I truly reccomend Taverna Trastevere.

Food is great here. The burrata with tomatoes to start was really good with a caramelised onion twist to it. Carbonara for main was packed with flavour and made the traditional way. Tiramisu to finish was really good, only issue was that it wasn’t big enough. Timely service. No faults.

We were a group of 14 people. We arrived at the restaurant at 20:50. We waited a lot before ordering our food because anyone was coming for it (also if we asked few times). After ordering food, around 21:40, antipasti arrived and when we asked them for the main dishes they replied that we had to wait for the other one to finish their plate. The main pastas and the second main arrived at 22:10 and the pizzas a little bit later. It is very late to eat and we waited a long time. The food was nice and the waitresses kind and funny. The service was very slow. The restaurant wasn’t full.

Le nostre papille gustative si sono finalmente risvegliate dopo un mese qui a Londra 😅 abbiamo assaggiato i 3 piatti di pasta più rinomati, tutti e 3 spettacolari ma la carbonara a nostro gusto li batte tutti. Poi i nostri figli hanno voluto anche gli arrosticini.. non male. (In Italia viviamo al confine Marche-Abruzzo quindi siamo abituati un po’ troppo bene agli arrosticini ma comunque non male … ) I camerieri molto simpatici e alla mano. Noi siamo stati serviti da quello con la barba più lunga ed è stato bello ritrovate un po’ di Italia anche nell’atmosfera amichevole e socievole. Se siete qui è una tappa da fare assolutamente! Londra è bellissima ma il cibo italiano non è paragonabile a nient’altro 🥰 ovviamente è un parere personale! Grazie ragazzi !

This Italian eatery is clearly very popular - queues of people going in over two sittings on a Wednesday evening. The food seems fairly normal for an Italian restaurant and we enjoyed our pizzas and pasta dishes. The service was efficient. The wine was expensive. The cheapest white wine available was £38 which for a local Clapham eatery seems a lot.

Lovely lunch with friends. Despite the sun, we preferred inside which has a lovely buzz. We mixed and matched starters and main courses and nothing was a problem. Everything arrived together and the food was excellent. I tried the steak tartare which is a favourite, and it was excellent. All in all a lovely time.

We were looking forward to attending this restaurant as we had seen some great reviews on social media however we were left a little bit disappointed. It was very cramped inside and we were seated right on top of people which made for a bit of an awkward experience. The food was ok nothing special. Starter was dry and the famous carbonara which had been so publicised online was incredibly salty which was disappointing. However the biggest and most disappointing factor of the experience was the cleanliness, i visited the toilet at the end of my meal and I was shock and disturbed to find a really bad drain fly issue downstairs. The problem is so bad I think it’s unlikely this restaurant would meet food and hygiene standards next time they are reviewed by local authorities.

If it’s a sunny day, or when it’s raining or you’re wanting to celebrate with a large family, or to dine alone, I can recommend this friendly Italian experience with its yummy food and even yummier waiters. A little bit of Roma in London.

Food is great, pizza the best in London and finally alla Romana here as well. 4 stars because prices are too high for the area ( not Mayfair ).

Oh, Taverna Trastevere? Absolute game-changer. Their carbonara blew my mind — seriously, the best I've ever had, and I'm Italian, so you know it's legit. The vibe's just like the cozy spots back in Rome, and the owners? They're the real deal. Every time I pop in, it's like being back home. If you're in London and craving a Roman holiday on a plate, this is the place. Hands down, my top pick in the city.

Esperienza fantastica! Siamo stati ieri a mangiare da Taverna Trastevere e siamo usciti tutti estremamente soddisfatti. Eravamo in sei e i piatti di tutti erano davvero buoni e la qualità era evidente. Abbiamo preso supplì, mortadella, fritto di calamari, puntarelle, carbonara, amatriciana e pizza ed era tutto squisito. Anche i dolci molto buoni, specialmente la millefoglie. A rendere questa esperienza più che positiva è stato il servizio. Lo staff è professionale, attento e soprattutto molto simpatico (perfetto per una taverna romana). Ci siamo fatti tutti un sacco di risate e ci siamo sentiti molto a nostro agio durante tutta la serata. Complimenti a tutto lo staff per la professionalità, in particolare a Nicola che si è preso cura di noi tutta la serata facendoci divertire tantissimo, e anche al resto del team di cui purtroppo non so i nomi! Consiglio questo posto a chiunque voglia passare una bella serata a farsi due risate e a mangiare ottimo cibo romano! Ritorneremo sicuramente.

Great homemade spaghetti . Really tasty, rich amatriciana sauce with crispy pancetta . Disappointing bruschetta as it was just very cold, sliced, large tomatoes on bread - not so tasty . Great friendly atmosphere, busy , genuine Italian feeling to the place.

Amazing cuisine from Roma, very authentic as I’m Italian and know my stuff! Ordered crocchette cacio e pepe, tonnare li alla gricia and a pizza vegetariana, plus 2 coffees. The bill was reasonable for London average prices.

You know you’re arriving at a great restaurant when there’s a queue outside in temperatures of 2°. Thankfully, we had a reservation (for five people) so walked straight in. We were greeted by the staff and sat immediately. The Italian food is probably the most authentic you’re going to find in London. I went for the pasta, but my friends Pizza looked equally as delicious. The starters were all tasty too. It’s a must for me, to return and try the pizzas next time. The staff were very busy yet friendly and helpful (packed restaurant in January…another good sign). A great experience. You will not be disappointed!

Such an amazing meal. Service was a little slow to start but worth the wait. Had the most amazing pasta dish followed by a huge portion of dessert that I couldn’t finish. Portions were really generous and I would go back again

We have visited once before with friends for lunch. The food is reliable with excellent pasta. The staff are friendly if a bit manic. However, this time we were slightly taken back at the bill of £40 a head for a pasta/ pizza main course and a drink each. On checking the bill later, I realised that we had been charged for a bottle of wine, as opposed to a glass. I'll put this down to experience and the chaotic service that night. I'm not sure if we'll be returning as it's not great value for money.

This was a disappointing experience, perhaps made more so as the previous reviews had given us great expectations and we were really looking forward to our meal. The service was soulless, the meal over salted and oily, and the wine just awful. Very overpriced for an underwhelming dinner, we won’t be returning.

The restaurant has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff has been amazing, advising us which wine to pair with what we ordered and always friendly and happy to assist us. Special mention to Silvia and Roberto for their outstanding service. Wine and food was great. I do personally recommend the "arrosticini di pecora" and "tonnarelli alla gricia", very tasty. We finished our dinner with the tris of tiramisù, which was just the icing on the cake. I totally recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

Nicola was our waiter for the evening and he was great - recommended a wine for us which was lovely, and was attentive and not pushy at all, or trying to rush us. The food was great - starters we had were good. The carbona lived up to the hype and the pizza was cooked well. Nice vibe inside and interior was lovely. Has a cute outside area which would be great if you come in the summer time! Would recommend.

My cousin has just moved to the area and had heard good reviews so I took her here for her birthday. A warm evening so had the option to eat outside but chose a quiet corner inside. Friendly and quick service. Pasta was certainly fresh whi h makes a huge difference compared to a chain restaurant. Great flavour. Not cheap but probably correct price for area and quality. We are lucky enough to live a couple of minutes walk away from the Taverna and have visited a number of times. The food is excellent, very good fresh pasta and pizza but also have tried the mains on occasion which are very tasty. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

Great selection of typical Italian dishes, the food is very good. Staff very friendly and the atmosphere is authentic. Service is prompt. They served a limoncello at the end of the dinner. Almost no-one does it anymore. We will definitely come back.
