Food is great, pizza the best in London and finally alla Romana here as well. 4 stars because prices are too high for the area ( not Mayfair ).

Oh, Taverna Trastevere? Absolute game-changer. Their carbonara blew my mind — seriously, the best I've ever had, and I'm Italian, so you know it's legit. The vibe's just like the cozy spots back in Rome, and the owners? They're the real deal. Every time I pop in, it's like being back home. If you're in London and craving a Roman holiday on a plate, this is the place. Hands down, my top pick in the city.

Excited to visit following the excellent reviews however ended up disappointed. Expensive and although homemade the pasta dishes didn’t impress on flavour. Beef tartare lacked garnish or dressing. Chianti and homemade bread both nice. Won’t be returning

Esperienza fantastica! Siamo stati ieri a mangiare da Taverna Trastevere e siamo usciti tutti estremamente soddisfatti. Eravamo in sei e i piatti di tutti erano davvero buoni e la qualità era evidente. Abbiamo preso supplì, mortadella, fritto di calamari, puntarelle, carbonara, amatriciana e pizza ed era tutto squisito. Anche i dolci molto buoni, specialmente la millefoglie. A rendere questa esperienza più che positiva è stato il servizio. Lo staff è professionale, attento e soprattutto molto simpatico (perfetto per una taverna romana). Ci siamo fatti tutti un sacco di risate e ci siamo sentiti molto a nostro agio durante tutta la serata. Complimenti a tutto lo staff per la professionalità, in particolare a Nicola che si è preso cura di noi tutta la serata facendoci divertire tantissimo, e anche al resto del team di cui purtroppo non so i nomi! Consiglio questo posto a chiunque voglia passare una bella serata a farsi due risate e a mangiare ottimo cibo romano! Ritorneremo sicuramente.

Great homemade spaghetti . Really tasty, rich amatriciana sauce with crispy pancetta . Disappointing bruschetta as it was just very cold, sliced, large tomatoes on bread - not so tasty . Great friendly atmosphere, busy , genuine Italian feeling to the place.

Amazing cuisine from Roma, very authentic as I’m Italian and know my stuff! Ordered crocchette cacio e pepe, tonnare li alla gricia and a pizza vegetariana, plus 2 coffees. The bill was reasonable for London average prices.

You know you’re arriving at a great restaurant when there’s a queue outside in temperatures of 2°. Thankfully, we had a reservation (for five people) so walked straight in. We were greeted by the staff and sat immediately. The Italian food is probably the most authentic you’re going to find in London. I went for the pasta, but my friends Pizza looked equally as delicious. The starters were all tasty too. It’s a must for me, to return and try the pizzas next time. The staff were very busy yet friendly and helpful (packed restaurant in January…another good sign). A great experience. You will not be disappointed!

We have visited once before with friends for lunch. The food is reliable with excellent pasta. The staff are friendly if a bit manic. However, this time we were slightly taken back at the bill of £40 a head for a pasta/ pizza main course and a drink each. On checking the bill later, I realised that we had been charged for a bottle of wine, as opposed to a glass. I'll put this down to experience and the chaotic service that night. I'm not sure if we'll be returning as it's not great value for money.

This was a disappointing experience, perhaps made more so as the previous reviews had given us great expectations and we were really looking forward to our meal. The service was soulless, the meal over salted and oily, and the wine just awful. Very overpriced for an underwhelming dinner, we won’t be returning.

The restaurant has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff has been amazing, advising us which wine to pair with what we ordered and always friendly and happy to assist us. Special mention to Silvia and Roberto for their outstanding service. Wine and food was great. I do personally recommend the "arrosticini di pecora" and "tonnarelli alla gricia", very tasty. We finished our dinner with the tris of tiramisù, which was just the icing on the cake. I totally recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back!

Nicola was our waiter for the evening and he was great - recommended a wine for us which was lovely, and was attentive and not pushy at all, or trying to rush us. The food was great - starters we had were good. The carbona lived up to the hype and the pizza was cooked well. Nice vibe inside and interior was lovely. Has a cute outside area which would be great if you come in the summer time! Would recommend.

My cousin has just moved to the area and had heard good reviews so I took her here for her birthday. A warm evening so had the option to eat outside but chose a quiet corner inside. Friendly and quick service. Pasta was certainly fresh whi h makes a huge difference compared to a chain restaurant. Great flavour. Not cheap but probably correct price for area and quality. We are lucky enough to live a couple of minutes walk away from the Taverna and have visited a number of times. The food is excellent, very good fresh pasta and pizza but also have tried the mains on occasion which are very tasty. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would recommend.
