We had a fantastic experience here this evening! Wonderful flavoursome dishes. I would highly recommend the lasagne and the tiramisu - both were 10/10. The ambience and the service were also exceptional. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back (third time here already!)

Had a meal here today and the service was incredible and the food matched, authentic Italian food which was cooked to perfection, a hidden gem in London and will be coming here regular. The tiramisu was unreal! Highly recommend.

Stunning meal, stunning service and best gnocci Nutella ever!!

I recently dined at this Italian restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was quite underwhelming. We ordered two pizzas, expecting a burst of authentic Italian flavors, but both were disappointingly tasteless. There was no spice or zest to speak of, leaving the food flat and unremarkable. The service was equally lackluster, nothing beyond average, which didn't help elevate the overall experience. In the end, I didn't feel like I was enjoying good Italian food or even that I was in an Italian restaurant.

Lovely, cosy restaurant with delicious menu (and wide range of GF options) - came for a friends birthday and we were so looked after by the staff - a highlight was dessert coming with a huge sparkler candle and happy birthday playing through the sound system! Total surprise and hilarious

Been here twice now and each time I've been blown away with the quality of the food. So fresh and tasty. The mushroom truffle oil pasta is one of the best pastas I've ever had. The Nutella gnocchi was so delicious. Cant wait to go back!

I recently dined at this Italian restaurant with my family, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. We tried a variety of dishes, each leaving a lasting impression. For the main course, the Numero Sei pizza stole the show. Its melt-in-the-mouth texture, soft interior, and perfectly crunchy crust made it a standout. Infused with Italian sausage, salami, and mushrooms over a fresh tomato sauce, and finished with bubbling mozzarella, this pizza was a symphony of flavours. The Melanzane alla Parmigiana offered another indulgent delight. The rich tomato sauce smothered the luscious aubergine, creating a mouthwatering combination that was enhanced by a generous layer of cheese. The Bufalina pizza, my personal choice, was a homemade masterpiece. The pizza boasted a perfectly cooked base – crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The beautiful and creamy buffalo mozzarella, complemented by the deep basil, added layers of flavor that delighted the taste buds. We concluded our culinary journey with two distinct desserts. The Chocolat Souflé provided a sweet and decadent ending, while the Gnocchi con Nutella, featuring gnocchi filled with Nutella and vanilla ice cream, was a unique and delightful treat. I’ve been here twice in the last 2 years and walked out out both times (I thought i would give them a second try)- that is how welcoming the service staff are. Edit- the owner’s reply clearly shows how hospitable they are. There were 9 empty tables when i arrived - but the only two i was ‘allowed’ were one table in the back corner facing the wall, or a small table right beside the bar door in-spite of the place being 75% empty. If you are not in a group best go elsewhere or be treated as a 2nd class by the condescending service staff.

Ordered item through Uber eats and food arrived cold as driver was clearly lost and ignoring phone calls and directions. Contacted restaurant and was informed the drivers are not employed by the restaurant, therefore I should contact Uber Eats. Person on the phone had lax attitude and clearly not customer support oriented. Restaurant should show also concern and feedback to Uber eats if food is not delivered with the minimum standards of quality **Updated** The Melanzana team is clearly showing it’s customer service skills and approach. Your response says it all.

This is an amazing resturant, the food is delicious and the staff are great. It’s got a great family feel to it and every in there makes you feel so welcome. I will definitely be coming back

Decent Italian place on battersea square. Atmosphere is nice, food was ok but nothing amazing. Service was really good!

The staff were rude, incompetent and uninviting, the food was even worse! The arancini was mush, in a revolting sugary tomato sauce, and tasted a week old. The pizza was bland, soggy and so disappointing. The decor is trash, the music felt like we were in a Eurovision nightmare. I cannot stress this enough.. DO NOT GO HERE. Bill came to an eye watering £60 -never felt so hard done by in my life.

I wanted a glass of wine to serve quietly in this location; but I was not told that they don't just serve simple alcohol. Very rude staff. A shame for such a beautiful place.

We took a table and it was so tight we had to adjust even though restaurant was empty but that’s not the worst part. Once we order, we are told order is less than £20 per person and they won’t take the order and asked us to leave. Please write your ridiculous policy upfront

Serious warning! Do NOT go to this resturant! Owner of the resturant threatened to "smash my face in" for using the lavatory. He locked us in the resturant and demanded I clean the lavatory with my bare hands and started kicking his wet floor signs and using excesive bad and aggressive language! I have been to this resturant a couple of times - food is bland, overpriced and staff are very rude and aggressive. *They are also very quick to over-charge.* Resturant decor is old fashioned and in desperate need of a revamp and new managment. They play music very loudly and refuse to turn lights on so that you can read the menu. Be warned, avoid this establishment at all costs!

I’m a client there . I had an emergency asking if I can use the toilette and in a ride day they said just no you not client at the moment . Anyway the food is not good and they claim to be Italian but food taste not Italian at all

Horrible service only excelled by awful food. Wet August lunch with my little one. The waiter looked displeased to see us. We were his only customers. The drinks order was wrong. The food was a definite miss. Tomato saturated pasta with a dry filling partially cold in the middle. The garlic bread was rock hard. Whole place looks like it needs a good scrub. The waiter slammed the plates down. We had to ask for the bill. He tossed it on the table. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

After receiving the bill for 51.18£ for having pizza margarita 12inch size, 11.90 £ Cesar salat 6.00 £ added chicken breast on the salat (that you can taste it came out of the freezer that morning )16.90£ !!! 2 * San Pelegríno orange flavor 330 ml and one sparkling water 1 liter . I was shocked. Decided to tell you guys before you go there . The guy (who took the order and cooked) is nice . His prices are outrageous.

The prosciutto and rocket pizza was the single best slice I've ever had. The place is cozy and welcoming, and is the only place on our vacation where our kids finished their entire meal - the 7 and 8 year old crushed a whole pizza and half the garlic bread.

The pizza isn’t authentic Italian pizza in the slightest… American pizza with burnt cheese and lots of grease… extremely overpriced for an American style pizza. I don’t exactly understand how it has such good reviews but I assume it’s because the servers r nice

I cannot recommend Melanzana enough! Celebrating a 25th birthday with a table of 20 and they made it so perfect. The food was amazing, the service incredible and they made us feel so special. Nothing is ever too much for the staff, they are so welcoming and so attentive. Thank you to all the staff for such a fun evening- we are so grateful❤️

This is such a hidden gem! So glad we finally booked after passing the restaurant in the car so many times. Please ignore the negative reviews as the owner and staff (who are family) could not have been more accommodating. Their recommendations were superb and they were so kind to our 4 year old son. Excellent Italian restaurant. The food is delicious, the portions are big and the staff are fantastic (thank you again Rola!). The decor inside is perfect and the whole experience makes you feel like you're in Italy. We were so impressed we booked to go again whilst we were there.

Came here to celebrate my birthday with my family. I love what they did with the place, beautiful restaurant. Amazing staff and amazing service. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone who came left satisfied and happy. They made my birthday extra special with all the decorations and by singing happy birthday. The owner greeted all of us and made sure we were all happy with the service as well as the food. Thank you so much Melanzana. We will definitely be returning.

Poor Service. We ordered a melanzana focaccia and there was no melanzana in focaccia. Food is not bad but small portion.

The male manager who apparently has 15 years experience treated my friends and I deplorably tonight when we told him we would like to split the bill. He seemed outraged that he had to work out the Maths and even asked of we couldn't work it out ourselves. I pointed out it was his responsibility to make sure the bill was split correctly. He went off on a tangent that we should be able to work it out ourselves pointing at all our phones. Such a rude and arrogant man and if he has the 15 years experience he says he has in running the restaurant, he definitely needs to brush up on the modules on kindness, courtesy and manners, as he was severely lacking in all areas. He even made a point after the bill was paid to come back to our table and to tell us not to dare tell him to split the bill and not to tell him what is and what isn't his job to do. Absolutely disgusting macho energy....shame on him.

Went here for my Birthday lunch with friends, the food is delicious and the staff is just amazing. We were served by Mirella, she did an outstanding job and made my birthday lunch a success!

What a let down. I have lived in the area for almost a year and decided to try it out. At 11pm, we were only half way through our main meals with half a glass of wine left when the music suddenly stopped, the waiters started blowing out all the candles and pulling the shutters down. Note that on both google and their website it says they are open until 11:30pm. When we went to pay, we expressed our disappointment of feeling rushed out, and the owner had the nerve to give US attitude and say ‘I tell my staff when they leave and don’t tell me how to run my restaurant’. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour. I will not be returning as there are too many other restaurants around to waste my money on a place that clearly isn’t interested in good customer service. It is revealing the way they are negatively and aggressively responding to negative reviews and additionally giving untruthful accounts about customers. Only positive thing to say was our waiter was very sweet.

Would not return. Food is so-so. Deco too kitsch. Rude people.

Nice italian restaurant with a great value for the money. The pizza was very good, however, it's not the typicall napolitan pizza. We had the cheesarama (mozarella parmiggiano gorgonzola and more) and the lasagna which was excellent. They have peroni although it's pricey (almost £7 for a small bottle). The atmosphere is nice and the attention was very good.

Rip-off!! A visit to London treat from our son. Great day but terrible dinner. £39 for a bottle of cheap Sauvignon, A 'sharing' fish platter for 2 with only 3 prawns, 3 sardines, 3 inedible calamari & some rocket for £16.90, £5.90 on the bill for tap water, £26.18 compulsory service charge but when questioned told it was a "business tax"!!. Come on Battersea there has got to be better places to eat than this establishment. Needless to say, I will not be going back, just feel sorry for my son who spent his hard earned cash on food that didn't match the extortionate prices. Would give no star but system will not accept it, hence 1 star.

I eat here 2/3 times a week. The atmosphere is nice, the staff are friendly, and the service is quick and good, the prices are reasonable and it’s a nice place to dine or take lunch.

Amazing little place. We went as a family of three, had the arancini, pizza bites, pasta and pizzas. Everything was delicious and the starters were huge. The waitress was really attentive and made recommendations throughout. Amazing value too. Great find

Great and very cozy Italian restaurant! Super tasty pizza and pasta as well as other options. There are vegetarian options too. Great desserts - tiramisu, pannacotta, profiteroles, ice cream... You can also order by phone and pick up as take away. Usually there are free tables with no advance booking bit if you are more people better to book in advance.

They served me one expired drink and the food taste like frozen. My friend wrote a comment about that and the manager threatened us because of this!!! She asked why we finish the meal and then took a picture for us WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION and she refused to delete it and said “call the police” Cops said that we don’t need to pay them while we still paid for it. I was shocked by these rude people.

Mirella and Rolla and the team are so hospitable in the true Italian fashion! The food is always great, reasonably priced. They do an amazing Birthday celebration!! I’ve been coming here for the past 4 years for my birthday and intend to keep coming. Amazing little proper rustic local Italian <3

First time around Battersea and we picked this place at random. Perfect service and even better food. Surprised us with Nutella stuffed gnocchi for desert which was amazing! Sam (owner) was very welcoming and made the night great, couldn’t recommend more

Fabulous pizzas with lots of quality ingredients

My experience at Melanzana was lovely. The staff was kind, the owner's daughter very welcoming, the food was tasty (I highly recommend the truffle tagliatelle) and the music on point. Will definitely visit again soon!

We visited this restaurant on our way out of London avoiding traffic so called in for a glass of wine. We had no intention of eating there. Once we experienced the ambiance and witnessed the food passing our table we decided to stay. What a great decision. Our waitress Mirela was so charming and knew about every dish and how it was made. She was able to recommend wines and deserts ( which I normally don’t have) but the tiramisu was to die for. We will definitely come back.
