A lovely wee cafe at the end of Linlithgow high street that doesn’t have many cafes. Handy for a wee catchup with family and friends. Clean and bright, seating is comfy. The home baking and sandwiches are excellent, scones are amazing. Tea and coffee are freshly made and hot. Staff are lovely and welcoming.

Stumbled on this place randomly walking down the High Street during a recent visit. What a gem! Excellent range of home bakes. As usual, the pair of us couldn't see beyond the Victoria sponge, so will definitely be back to test out some of the other mouth watering options!

The place could use some TLC, the chair legs are chipped, tables are scuffed and the overall decor is very dated. The staff are very friendly and attentive so can't fault them there. The toilets are in need of attention, much like the overall decor. On to the food. Taste wise it was good, value for money not so much. Five pounds for a wrap with a couple of slices of pepper and some houmous is a bit excessive. Overall, very average.

I don't think I have ever been served anything more disgusting I had macaroni cheese it was an awful stodgy mess with a strong smell of fish and cold in the centre. They were happy to reheat it in their microwave but it didn't help .My sister had the all day brunch the toast had been waved over the toaster so it was a soggy mess and it also had a strong odour of fish.

Visited with my disabled grandparents as it was one of the few places with wheelchair access. It looked a bit run down but we sat down nonetheless. We requested some information on gluten free options for my grandmother. She ventually chose a salad, which arrived with a bread roll on it. We assumed this was a simple mistake and raised it to the gentleman serving us. He simply took the bread off and gave it back.. We said that my nan was severely allergic and it couldn't be touching. He argued that it wasn't touching anything (it was sat on top of her salad and there were breadcrumbs on her plate!) and only replaced the salad when we picked the breadcrumbs up to show him. The place even had a sign up saying to just ask about food intolerances and allergies but he clearly knew nothing about food! Had we not noticed, my gran would've been very ill! Shocking service. We don't go out for food to risk becoming unwell and I worry for others visiting. That exchange aside, the food wasn't good. The coffee was one of the worst I've been served. Limited options for an "award winning" "bistro" and so, so overpriced. The toilets were disgusting, the server was unapologetic and unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, I'm afraid.

We visited this cafe today and having used the toilet facilities then found it very difficult to eat. I was sorely tempted to purchase a bottle of bleach, hand it in and ask them to please use it to clean the toilet. I'm quite sure that bleach would have made a difference even although the toilet was old. Although the cafe was quiet the bin in the toilet was overflowing with hand towels and didn't look as if it had been emptied for some time. I certainly wouldn't recommend.

We had our first vegan meal tonight at Cameron's. It was very good and quite surprising as most people imagine vegan is all nuts and seeds. I had mushroom pate with oatcakes and salad followed by black bean chillie and rice. Then homemade chocolate cupcake with ice cream. I enjoyed the meal. I can't say I would convert to vegan but it was very edible and not overpriced.

I have been here many times over the years and it seems to have been run for a long time by the same guy, who is a hard-working fellow. The service was good and I received my meal for quickly. I liked the food itself and the portion was generous. Price was fairly decent. Pleasant atmosphere. I spoke to the guy afterwards and was impressed to learn that he was hosting a variety of vegan evenings. I always appreciate when restaurants make the effort to accommodate vegetarians and vegans.

The manager was rushed off his feet today apparently 2 people called in sick so was a bit stressed but shouldn't really have attitude towards other customers. I ordered a club sandwich expecting something a bit more than chicken mayo and cheap water thin ham between 2 pieces of bread so was a bit unappetising if I'm honest considering a club sandwich in Scarlett's cafe in camelon is almost unfinishable. Surely there was someone who could possibly have helped him out today

Dropped in for a spot of lunch ,took a nice seat to watch the world go by.Outside seating available in good weather. Quick service from the usual cafe menu ,toasties panninis and baked potatoes. Service was fast and friendly. We took the bacon and brie toastie and I had a tuna mayonaise baked potato. Perfectly presentable and tasty . All the tables have good views out of the windows the cafe is light and bright . The toilet leaves something to be desired with the cracked cistern taking 5 mins to refill!! and the waste bin overflowing

The food was not awful, although a bit pricey for what you get. The cafe itself is tired, old looking, and the toilet is absolutely disgusting. I ordered a black coffee at around about £2-£2.50 and for that price I really expect something better than what was clearly cheap filter coffee that had been sat out for a long time. My partner had a 'latte' which was the same awful filter coffee with some milk added to it. The service we received from the young girl serving us however was excellent. So to recap it was expensive, had average food, and had some of the worst coffee I've ever been served in a cafe. I felt like complaining to the owner - an older gentleman - although the way I heard him talking to the member of staff who served us (who had been faultless) and another customer we decided not to.

Most of my reviews are on a positive note ... I like to give praise to people who give good service ... but .... certainly won't be back to these premises. Decided to visit Linlithgow when returning from Edinburgh festival. Linlithgow itself is a lovely town with loch and palace ... but this cafe lets the town down. Welcome was fine ... We (my partner and I) ordered tea 1 cake and a scone. The cakes were very limited and stored in direct sunlight . The scones were uncovered. The cafe itself did not look too clean but the shock was still to come .... the toilet was DISGUSTING .... Certainly has not been properly cleaned for months ... deep old brown stains on pan and lid .. bin overflowing and a 'certain smell' about the place. The people preparing the food must use this single toilet ... god forbid. I noticed a review some months ago complaining about same ....why has nothing improved ?? If he depends on passing trade ... well I'll be passing anyway. Sorry for negative review .. but it's an honest one.

Popped in for a coffee with a friend. Fair enough it was late afternoon but the floor and some tables were covered in crumbs and not very clean looking. I nipped to the loo whilst waiting on my coffee and it was disgusting. First thing that hit me was the strong smell of urine! Every bit of stainless steel was rusting and covered in grime and mould and the bin was overflowing with used paper towels. My 1st thought was 'I wonder what the kitchen is like'. My friend used it after me and I'd warned her but she likewise came out disgusted. Really needs ripped out and replaced! Then our coffees and scones came. The scones were nice but my latte was awful. It was weak and watery with about an inch of pure white bubbly froth. I had to take it back and the guy was pleasant enough and replaced it however the 2nd one was just as bad. My bill for 2 coffees and 2 scones was £9.50 which was quite pricey. I wouldn't have minded if I'd enjoyed it but it was not nice at all. The guy was pleasant enough but the full place needs refurbished and they need a new coffee machine.

Visited here today (15/05/16) with my husband and 2 year old son. Very warm welcome and asked straight away if we wanted a highchair. I ordered a brie and bacon toasted sandwich (was really nice) just thought for 4.75 I would have had nicer bread. My son had the sausage and beans. (Again nice but poor quality sausages) what I really did like the food for my son came out at a good temperature and not piping hot when you have to wait for ages to cool. Would definitely visit again as the cakes look lovely. As I said very warm welcome from a lovely gentleman who served us. Thanks again :)

I visited Cameron's cafe today. After having quite a tiresome day of business meetings. I was famished. After leaving Cameron's full customer satisfaction was achieved and so was my happiness. Excellent food, at incomparable prices. Please stop by.Roland EvansCafeFoodCritic

The only thing good in here is the warm welcome. The reason we came in, was to warm up, it was just 2 o outside. Two kids ice creams, two coffees and one bit of shortbread, just under £12. not good value. The kids were given paper and crayons straight away, so five stars for that. Good service and cheerful. When I stood up from my seat, my trousers were damp in one leg. The café had an air of being in need of some TLC. Toilets were reasonable. Mould under and round the sides of the hygiene certificate on the window says it all.

Haven't been to Cameron's for years but went here yesterday as it was a lovely day and it does have nice, sheltered tables to sit at in the sunshine, which we needed as we had our dog with us. There is an extensive menu with sandwiches, toasties, baked potatoes, home-baking, ice-cream and a large selection of different drinks. The prices looked to be fairly average for Linlithgow, though I can't speak for the quality of the food, other than what we ordered. It was mid-afternoon so we opted for the cream tea, a scone with jam and fresh, whipped cream and tea or coffee for £4.75. We thought this wasn't bad value at all and it was absolutely fine, with no skimping on the jam and cream. I ordered decaf tea which came in a pot and I got 2 1/2 cups out of it so even better value!Service was friendly and efficient and the man even brought out a bowl of water for my dog, unasked. It's at the very west end of the High Street so generally too far along for us but is very well-placed if you are at the Health Centre or have been on a walk round the Loch, and as I said earlier, probably has the best position in Linlithgow for sitting out on a nice day.

Stopped here with a friend for something eat during a long bike ride today.I ordered the jumbo roll with square sausage. This description is very misleading as the roll was a decent size but the sausage itself was pityful. Not only was it small but it was thin and of very poor quality. Quite frankly I'm shocked that a cook/chef would send something so pathetic out to a customer and expect them to pay a ridiculous price for it.I did mention my concern to the young waitress but nothing was done about it. The next time we are passing through, be assured, we will be passing straight by this establishment.

This is the worst food I have had in a cafe in a long time. I had a roll & sausage. The, what purported to be, Lorne sausage was small, thin and seriously overcooked. It tasted like tough cardboard. The roll was OK. My wife had what was described as scrambled egg which looked like some moulded concoction out of a packet and was gelatinous and tasteless. the meal was overpriced and definitely not worth the money even in a tourist town. Never again.

Thought we would try Camerons for our breakfast on trip to the area. Not the warmest of welcomes on arrival, it looked more like a creche than a bistro and so the theme continued the whole time we spent there. We were the only ones in the place other than a small child who had the run of the place in an out of the kitchen in the bistro and out side with the cook/mother following him when she should have been doing our food. The food when it did come was of poor quality and poorly cooked. We had to wait for the waitress to come back from cleaning the toilet to pay our bill. If this is the best in Linlithgow the standards must be very poor.

I was a regular visitor to Camerons until I left the West Lothian area a few years ago but I always take the time to go in whenever I am passing for work. I always get a warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff whenever I go back.Cameron's is a family run cafe with a great atmosphere, varied menu and good prices. They cater to all kinds of customers whether it's a quick coffee and cake (the cakes are fantastic btw) or a full meal. They are also children and breast feeding friendly which is very good to see.

Have used this wee cafe next to the doctors a few times now. The food has always been excellent and good value. The owner (assume its cameron) has been pleasant when hes not in the kitchen. The young girl who does most if not all the front of shop customer service has yet to crack a smile even when i was complimenting the food. Her demeanour suggests you are unwelcome and interfering with her day.

Not impressed. Order was accepted for delivery at 8.10 but arrived at 9.30! Informed by chippie they were very busy but the lady was on her break when my order went through or it wouldn't have been accepted! This actually isn't my problem and food was lukewarm when delivered! Not sure I'll order again!

We love Costa. Probably our first choice for coffee. Unfortunately the service in this particular Costa branch is the worst. Staff ignored the guest and very rude. Act like they don’t care in service. Busy with chit chatting.
