California Greenhouse Cafe - Lancaster in Chorley

Went to Green House Cafe after work last week for a quiet dinner. It was busy but not crazy. I had a chicken Cesar salad that just hit the spot. It was a perfect dinner after a hard day.

The Greenhouse Cafe’s Mandarin Chicken Salad is hands-down my favorite dish ever. We moved 1400 miles away and I find myself longing for it. The dressing is fabulous. When we’re in town visiting, i make sure to stop in for a meal or two and the last thing I do is grab a to-go salad to take on the plane with me and extra dressing to take home. They serve a very good selection of salads, sandwiches, and other pasta dishes, which my family enjoy. The parking is easy, the restaurant is charming, and the prices are quite reasonable.

Since my last review in May 2018, we didn't have such a pleasant experiences this time. I was with the same group of friends and family and only my daughter received her lunch in a timely manner (10 minutes). The rest of the group had to wait for 40-50 minutes before we saw food. When we inquired about our party's food at the 35 minute mark, we were told that the staff had to handle the large group that arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered! That response from our waitress set my whole party in an uproar! While she probably was being truthful, the answer she gave basically said to us "Your business is not important enough to provided timely service, we have bigger fish to fry!" We finally did get our food, however, my 1/2 Tuna Salad sandwich was dry and the Clam Chower was thick like gravy and I don't remember tasting clam. To their credit, when I asked our waitress to change my order because I didn't like it, the replacement pasta dish was spicy & delicious. Also, Greenhouse issued two gift cards to our party for use next time. We will continue to come here and we hope that next time will be a better experience! -Anthony

Once again enjoyed a relaxing afternoon lunch here. Definitely love the Cajun Chicken Salad which is served with a tasty toast. There is also a pasta version, so try them both! I've been going to the Greenhouse Cafe for years for group luncheons and even baby showers, but twice this month I've conducted business meetings with two different groups here. The food is good, the staff is very friendly and always willing to go out of their way to help. If you're looking for a great venue to hold your next meeting, take a look at this spot and enjoy one of the delicious soups, sandwiches or pastas.

Four of us came to join a larger group in one of the side rooms. It is interesting that the restaurant charges each diner $2 extra added to their meal if they are dining in one of the side rooms. I ordered French dip and there was a lot of meat and ample au jus. The sandwich came with a cold pasta salad of some sort, which was tasty. The issue we had was with our friend's order. His order arrived considerably after ours and when he received it, it was wrong. He asked for the missing bacon, which they did not just hand to him at the order window, but told him to go back to his table and they would bring it out. He waited and waited and waited. I mean really, how long does it take to give someone the side of bacon they asked for when they originally ordered? So as it was, the three of us completely finished our meals and had our plates cleared before our friend received his meal as ordered. The inconsistent service was an issue. I also noticed that the rating on the entrance was a "B" which gave me pause.

We chose this place for a quick, take-out meal and found the food to be very good, fairly priced, and prepared quickly for our take-out requirements. The staff was very pleasant and the place appeared to be nice and clean.

My travel group booked one of their private rooms for a breakfast buffet meeting. The room was clean, tables set up per our request, service was excellent and the price was right. Excellent customer service, and great food! Couldn't ask for better!! We ate there for a banquet and the staff was welcoming, as well as very accommodating.

My daughter recommended a visit as she was impressed with her previous visit a few months before. On her recommendation I ordered a sandwich and a portion of the hand cut chips. She had told me the chips were home made which is a huge plus for me. Not sure why but the chips I got were definitely not home made! Does hand cut not mean home made? Or does it have to say home made? Very misleading. We were also sat near the doors to the outside area, 4 different waitresses used this door to tidy outside area leaving the door wide open, absolutely freezing! Also bought a small custard tart in the bakery area at an astonishing £1.30!! Day light robbery. Will not be hurrying back!

You place your order as you enter the cafe and then you select a table and await for it to be delivered. The salad and sandwich when it arrived was fresh and the tri-tip sandwich tasty and hot. The service was really good, at least twice we were asked if our food was good. Our drinks were refilled promptly. We were there in the evening and it was not very busy but there was a constant stream of customers. The pasta looked good on other tables, so maybe next time we will check them out. There is a large party room which when we inquired has a buffet menu or if you order off the menu there is an extra $2 charge per person.

Love the salads and love the room with the aquariums. Very relaxing. My daughter loves the shakes and we all love the desserts. The back room is great for pasta parties. Have been to and seen quite a few back room events. Reasonably priced. Wait staff is friendly.

The Greenhouse Café in the Antelope Valley is a well known place. Great salads and their pasta's are the best. Different but excellent. The Greenhouse has a very strong following at their original location especially at lunch, the place was full with a long line to order. Their second site, in the AV Mall closed this year after battling for business for about five years. Rent and competition had to effect their decision. The service is solid. The servers have been there for a long time. The surroundings are pleasant. Finally the food which is the center of attention at this restaurant is great. We had pasta primavera and the Cobb salad. Of course we split each dish and we really enjoyed them. Hot, tasty and generous portions. Oh yes, the price for both meals was $21.00. It had been a long time since we ate at the Greenhouse but we will be back soon!
