Turned up at 11.10am to be told they weren't serving food untill well after 12pm, no where does it state you dont serve food between 11am-12pm. We wasn't standing around for an hour so went elsewhere. You may also want to train your staff on how to talk to your customers because we were spoken to like they had stepped in something. Won't be returning. Ended up taking our business elsewhere that was serving food.

Great Toby Inn, food is great and lots of it, staff very welcoming and friendly, service is great, we use this branch all the time now for the breakfasts. We'll worth a visit.

Went for dinner today , absolutely horrible , food cold , uncooked vegetables, sent drink back cos it tasted funny, no atmosphere, if you after a Sunday dinner with meat seemingly it's a carvery u better find some where else as you don't get much meat at ALL, u would be more fulled up with a maccy d's.. over all 1 out of 10 as it was open

Went for dinner with a mate, told by the manager over 30/35 minutes wait. So I had a drink at the bar, watched other walk-ins getting seated. Waited nearly 40mins when spoke to the manager his reply was "well you didn't make a reservation!" After a few words about being seated he was just rude! Very poor attitude towards myself. I could see they were short staffed but don't take it out on your customers. Be a while before I go again. Endon is much friendlier and helpful!!

This place is rubbish. Only two meat choices and we were told the beef was too fatty although it looked fine, seemed to only want to give you gammon. Got the tiniest amount of meat. Basically paying for a plate of veg. Avoid.

Just been for a King size carvery. Great food. Was going to knock a star off coz I'm way too full and sweating like a pig but that's probably my fault.

I left a few pigs in blankets and abit of Yorkshire pudding and devoured everything else plus the cider and coke zero were great.

Nice food and was seated straight away at 12:30 on a Sunday which was great, and unexpected without booking. Food was nice, the usual for a Toby Carvery. Staff seemed under a lot of pressure to turn over tables and it showed in the service towards the end. Otherwise good experience.

Very good place not busy at the time we went on Thursday after 1.00pm great service. had the roast the roast potatoes need work on not crispy and the yorkshire pudding need work on as well apart from that the meal was good .

Fabulous first outing to the Toby carvery and we loved it ,staff very friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. My grandchildren can't wait to go again it was lovely and very reasonably priced. Thank you Toby carvery at talke.see you soon.

They have cut down on the amount of meat they give you, food counter is nearly always got food over it, staff that serve you never happy, table are never properly cleaned or floor around tables, and know they have the cheek fining you when you legitimately park in a disabled bay, because they have a new check-in screen for your vehicle, euro carparks who know watch the carparks via cameras made 15.6 million last tax year, Toby carvery you are on your way out

Didn’t even get a chance to try the food as we had a phone call to cancel our reservation that we booked at 7pm for 8:10pm due to the fact there was no meat left at 7:30 an hour and half before closing , not the best impression. Luckily we went to a different Toby carvery that had good amount of everything left .

Complete disregard of the meat choice that was ordered, I understand if it's not available but I was not contacted about anything and just given pork that I didn't order.

Staff can be incredibly slow including cavers and waiting staff but they are predominantly pleasant. Average food and can be hit and miss depending on the quality of the cooked food and who cooked it.

Standard dry food but it's a carvery so you don't expect much

I found the staff to be polite and understanding they made us feel welcome.The carvery was excellent food hot and a clean environment we think that this venue is one of the best in stoke-on-trent for a carvery.

Girl serving drinks was nice and enthusiastic , everyone else didn’t seem to be that switched on. Got told there was no yorkshires left for the carvery but then magically appeared after we finished our meal. Not asking much for a toby experience but the basics weren’t even there.

My review is about the breakfast deliveries. Food is good, especially considering the price. Usually packaged well for delivery. My one complaint would be that I'd prefer if the beans and tomatoes were consistently packaged separately- there's no option to not have tomatoes, and the hash brown often gets drenched in tomato juice/beans. Other than that the food and service are great.

The food was delicious, plenty of room and we were seated straight away. No wait for the buffet. The menus, salt and pepper on the tables were all marked with food/sauce and needed a wipe over but this did not impact our visit and would go again.

Another lovely carvery at Toby, Talke. Food excellent and hot, staff very cheery and friendly which is probably why it's always popular.

The usual Toby breakfast experience, always have to wait for something to come out which ruins the flow of any meal. Sausages anaemic as always.

Says there open at 8 online and you turn up to be told not open till 9

Called in at lunchtime because we had just bought a car from next door and seemed too good an opportunity to miss. From the moment we went in the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Being a vegetarian I don’t always get the amount of choice of dishes as other people but I have to say that was not the case here. There was an excellent choice of dishes for me and what I chose along with a really good selection of veg from the carvery ( which I must say was very nicely cooked) turned out to be one of the best meals out for a very long time. Well done all.

Unfortunately only one vegan option to have with the carvery and when that is not available then you have a choice of only veg or going without, pity. The choice for meat eaters great and the food tasty.

Usual good quality, but disappointed with portion size. A lot smaller than usual and only just enough gravy to go around.

Service was shocking, waited 10minutes before someone came to our table, the waitress wasn’t busy. She was sorting salt and pepper dishes on tables beside ours, I had to call her over and ask what we done regarding carvery etc. In the middle of speaking to her she walked away, then shouted over from a desk to ask what drinks we wanted. We then went to the carvery queue where no one was present, a ‘chef’ then came from the kitchen, I asked if there was any more gammon, he returned to the kitchen and brought a fresh gammon joint, he proceeded to cut the bit of gammon that had been left lying on the hot plate instead of cutting the fresh one. On returning to our seat after filling plate which was filled with cold vegetables, potatoes were brown inside, couldn’t cut through the beef. The meal was absolutely disgusting. My son wanted a kids meal and even that was terrible, they brought both starter and main at the same time, £6.95 for a tiny bowl of soup and 5 chicken nuggets on their own. I had to speak to the manager, food was terrible. We’ve used toby carvery a few times so we thought we would again while on holiday but NEVER again will we be back to a toby carvery. Wouldn’t give this place a 1 star but couldn’t be completed without a star rating.

10 Mins to be seated , 10 mins for drinks to be served and 10 mins for the server to appear for the carvery . And the pub wasn’t even half full , shan’t be returning

Had a Sunday carvery. Turkey was really nice didn’t have other meats I don’t eat them. Roast potatoes not too good, not crispy enough. And the Yorkshire puddings I left as I bit into one and grease all came out.

Seated rapid, food was good however table service was non existent once you've sat down.

Food was good, but I think we were overcharged. 3 carveries and 2 bottomless drinks came to £41 that was with £10 off with birthday voucher. Need to ask for itemised receipt in future so I can check

Terrible service, the buffet wasn’t explained, they had ran out of everything except vegetables and meat! There was no one to serve the meat at the buffet until I told the bar staff.

Stopped off for breakfast, the service and the food served were excellent with the chefs constantly supplying fresh food. It is a great price and also as many visits to the service table as you wanted. Very good value for money and would highly recommend.

Good simple carvery. Can take a little time to get a table but never had a bad meal and staff always friendly and helpful 17/3/19 Return again for a stress free bite to eat on Sunday! Great welcome by front of house. Chef Tom was chatty and attentive. Good food great service. Will be back again! :)

I dined at the Talke Toby carvery yesterday, choosing turkey and lamb as meats. Within half an hour I had extreme stomach pains. I was then extremely sick and vomiting for about 9 hours. I have I have reported my food poisoning to Toby carvery's complaint system, still waiting for a reply!

Saturday roast dinner, it was ok, beef was inedible as it was the end of the joint and was so fatty and chewy. The roast potatos were really greasy, and the cauliflower cheese was dried up. It didn’t then help that it was served on a nearly cold plate and the gravy wasn’t very hot so the whole thing went lukewarm within a couple minutes. You get what you pay for, it was a roast and it was quick and easy but it was nothing to shout about and wouldn’t return again, we had just been to one in Edinburgh which was far superior

really good, you get to fill up your own drinks(bottomless) they have really good eggs and mash potatoes

Just had a parking fine as I didn’t know about the change and none of the staff mentioned it either , maybe the person greeting at the table should check valid customers they serve have registered? If I were to produce proof that I had a meal with you would that show that I’m not an unauthorised parker and therefore invalidate the fine ?

First time going for a breakfast. I was not disappointed. I told them I was gluten intolerance and they went above and beyond to cater for my needs. Would really recommend.

The food was delicious and there was an excellent selection of meats and veg to choose from. The beef dripping roasties, parsnips and dauphinois potatoes were all amazing and an excellent thing to see compared to other carvery restaurants which can be very basic. Some family members had the lamb and said that it was fatty, however the gammon and pork were both BRILLIANT. There was 15 of us and we were all happy!

Came today with my sister. First time here. We thought the carvery was excellent and the staff were very attentive. One of the best carveries we've had. It was packed and we're not surprised. Really enjoyed it and will definitely come again.

Buffet breakfast is good. Wide range of items to choose from. Friendly helpful staff. Tables nicely spaced out. WC ladies could be a bit nicer as it's very dated but clean and functional.

Standard Toby carvery fair. Had to wait a while to be served with our food. The dining area seems a little cramped. As it was lunch time there were a lot of children eating with their parents.

waited 5 mins to be seated, after that rushed from start to finish, rushed to order drinks, rushed to decide what food we wanted to order, rushed when at carvery line and not given enough time to choose what meat selection we actually wanted, food average nothing special, wide range of choice, gravy and mint sauce like water, ordered pigs in blankets although there were some on the carvery line we were told they will come seperate, they then arrived as we had finished eating the rest of meal, told staff we didnt want them as we were finished got a snappy response, wont be dining again thanks anyway👍🏻

Arrived earlier than booked but the young man took me to the table, as always lovely staff, excellent fresh food and very enjoyable. The Cauldwell is my Toby to go to and the Bonus of a Voucher from you guys Thankyou.

The slices of turkey were almost see-through. It was wafer thin. Was this because it was only £6 that night? This is something I have never seen before. Extraordinarily thin slices!
