Caldecotte Arms in Milton Keynes

Sorry stayed 2 nights premier inn not hotel side that’s fab chucked out on both in grill side no staff after 8pm gutted so sad this used too be great place to stay now full of reserved tables just so you don’t sit there and stay and drink and eat gutted not friendly at all

What a shocking show of hospitality. Was advised by hotel that food had to stop at 7pm because of kitchen staff issues, that is okay, no ones fault. However, 3 courses took over 2 hours and then even though there was 3 people on the bar and at least 16 customers, they decided to shut the bar early. At 8.40 the server told us that it was last orders! Why? Could they not be bothered to stay open until 10.30pm, as advertised. Then I went to the bar to order our last drinks and they'd already wrapped the pumps! Barman tried to refuse me, and I objected, he realised he was wrong and poured another drink. Then 10 minutes later we were rushed out of the door. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING! You clearly don't care for your customers. I know you are closing and revamping, but it will probably be the same staff and definitely still the same company. Would advise people to avoid at all costs! X

Food was ok, unfortunately whilst eating main course , only 5.30 pm,was told couldn't order dessert or any drinks as kitchen and bar was shutting. Struggling to employ staff !

During our recent stay in Milton Keynes, we decided to visit The Caldecotte Pub & Grill located on Bletcham Way. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a charming and friendly young lady whose collection of tattoos made her stand out. Her welcoming demeanour set the tone for a pleasant evening. Our server, Samuel, was efficient and took our order of two wholetail scampi dishes with ease. We were seated at table 86, and despite the pub being moderately busy, our meals arrived promptly within 15 minutes, which we appreciated. The scampi itself was cooked to perfection, with a crispy coating and succulent seafood filling. The chips were generously portioned and perfectly golden. However, there were two areas where the experience fell short of being a full 5-star outing. First, the portion of peas served with the meal was disappointingly small, especially considering we had requested no salad or tartar sauce. We were expecting a bit more to balance the plate, but unfortunately, there were only enough peas for about three forkfuls. The second point that impacted our overall enjoyment was the state of the decor and furniture. While the pub has a cosy atmosphere, the furniture was visibly worn down, with some seat coverings peeling off. This detracted from the otherwise comfortable environment and left a feeling that the place could use some updates. In conclusion, The Caldecotte Pub & Grill offers good food and friendly service, making it worth a visit. With a bit more attention to portion balance and some refurbishment to freshen up the space, this could easily be a 5-star venue. For now, we give it a solid 4 stars.

I have to give this restaurant a fantastic review. It’s well overdue! I attended with my partner in April this year (2024) for a Sunday roast. We were greeted by a waitress who we later found out was called Beth, a student working part time. As my partner comes from a strong customer service background and a manager in tourism, he is sometimes hard to please Lol 😂…….but he couldn’t get over how professional and friendly Beth was but also the 2 managers who run the restaurant were extremely polite and welcoming. Not only was the food served quick, it was fresh, hot (the trio of meat roast) and the staff went out of their way to have conversation and have a laugh with us which was very much appreciated. We both felt very well looked after and will definitely return again. Beth…..you are an angel and will go very far in life as you have great communication and people skills. Any questions we asked and you didn’t know, it was no trouble for you to find out. Both Beth and the husband and wife managers took their time out of their busy Sunday shift to have conversation with us. You were all amazing 🤩

We stumbled across this pretty cool looking building which looks like an old windmill. It's a pretty spacious pub and the staff were very welcoming. The menu isn't ground breaking and it's not home made food but for the price you get a decent meal. We were served by Beth who really looked after us and ensured that we had everything that we needed. Having a toddler makes mealtimes more challenging but Beth was lovely with our little one and made us feel at ease. There is a little miniature railway nearby and this pub sits right next to a lake and play area. It really is a great little find.

Only really visit for a drink The service is very slow I would never eat in the restaurant as the hygiene standards are poor I would shut it down for a deep clean and maybe new furniture I do feel sad to see the state of the place as I remember it first opening and being wonderful Finally toilets are shocking

Got bitten alive by bugs or mosquitoes by Monday they were big red blotches had to go to my pharmacy for antibiotics!! Unbelievable surely something should be done !!??

Plasic cups 🥤 NO Pimms NO garlic bread Çhips soft Katsu curry tastes chemically NO atmosphere ( music in background ) STAFF DID NOT MAKE US FILL WELCOME ( didn't come round and ask if everything is OK ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS ( Think is a manager), had their children running around whilst she is on shift!

We wanted lunch in the garden, but we were told that food is not served in that area, it was 28 degrees and we did not want to sit indoors, so we just had a drink outside, there was no parasols, we asked for one, which was brought to us, we had to put it in the table and put it up. A lot of the tables slope, there was rubbish all over the grass. The pub site says top notch amenities, certainly not top notch in my world

Excellent parking, and lovely surroundings and building, however there was some kind of disco quiz which was at a ridiculous volume and a DJ that sounded like a Peter Kay sketch in that you couldn’t understand him even if you wanted to. It was a shame because the waitress staff were attentive and friendly in particular Jeanette which somewhat help to rescue the evening.

Best place in Milton Keynes to have a tomahawk steak (t bones are also great) delicious!! Fantastic staff as well, kudos to Alfi!!

Our waiter harry was amazing did everything perfectly and to when didnt have burgers he gave me an amazing recommendation i couldnt fault him once amazing experience thank you so much

Scabby and bitty! All the chair seats need recovering, all the glasses need replacing they look filthy ( bars excuse is it’s the dishwasher) food was served rock hard and burnt, tepid puddings, no salt and pepper on the table, sauce bottles nearly all empty, took ages to clear tables.

Tabitha's customer service was DISGRACEFUL. Got my order wrong and blamed me for it like how disgraceful can you get? I will NEVER return!!!!!!!!

I have previously left a review for an outstanding experience provided by Beth, one of the waitresses, and returned to find myself amazed once again. The friendly and professional service provided by this young lady, Beth, makes me 100% recommend visiting this Pub and Grill purely for the pleasure of having beautiful food brought by fabulous staff.

Really disappointing. The trip advisor page looked amazing. But we were quite let down. The Tea was luke warm when it arrived with us. We wanted a starter but all but the bang bang caulflower and Hullumi fries were sold out. Our Beef roasts arrived. The meat was cooked to perfection and as described pink to the centre. The cauliflower cheese was pretty bloody good. The downsides were the Yorkshire puddings had the consistency of prawn crackers and the most concerning thing was that the beef had a fishy taste to it. The building is nice though, there are some nice walks and the EV charger worked perfectly.

Food came out quickly but whilst the starter was nice, the main was unpleasant, dry and overcooked fish, and the dessert was tiny. Very poor value. I would not eat here unless you are in the Premier Inn next door. Friendly and helpful staff. Probably nice for a beer in summer with the lake nearby but well over £5 for the lowest strength lager.

Very pleasant evening of 6 adults, 2, 5 year olds and a 1 year old. Very acommadating and excellent service. Food good and great location

We ate here for 3 nights and the service was quick and friendly. Beth served us on our last night and she was very helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was better than expected with the steak cooked particularly well. I would definitely recommend eating here.

We were staying for two nights at the adjoining hotel and dined here on both nights. The food was good quality and well presented. The two members of the restaurant staff that we interacted with, Lorraine in particular was extremely helpful and considerate over my wife's food allergies . We can not praise her enough. On our second night there we had the great pleasure of being attended by a very smart young man named Harry. His manner, skill and quality of service were wonderful.It was only later that we found that it was his first day working there. Well done Harry. I hope you new employer recognises what a great choice they have made in taking you into their employ.

16 of us with a wide range of tastes were at the Caldecote for a family meal to celebrate my Grandson’s 21st Birthday. The food was really good, but above that was the tremendous service we received from Bethany our waitress. It was decided that the bill be split 5 ways and Bethany arranged it brilliantly. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she smiled cheerfully throughout the whole meal, which made the event extremely enjoyable. Well done Bethany

The service and welcome here is amazing and the staff are really attentive and helpful - a special shout out to Jenny and Reece for looking after us so well, they are both fantastic!!!

Arrived in Milton Keynes for a uni trip - popped in for a cappuccino here while waiting to check into my room room at the premier inn. Stunning lakeside views and easy access walk by the water but my favourite part was the friendly staff....

A group of us, including wheelchair users went on 2 separate Monday afternoon. We had been to visit The Caldecott Experience and was having lunch. So of our group have adapted food 😋 The staff couldn't be more welcoming and accommodating. The adapted the menu slightly and moved furniture to say the least. They treated us all respectfully and were helpful, professional and friendly. I was ultra happy with the superb service from all staff. 1 of whom gave the name Lorraine Lloyd. She was on our second visit.

I was greeted in the morning by Lorraine with a smile & a welcome, I order coffee & was served promptly with zero fuss. Very professional. Always a lovely place to go.

Really enjoyed breakfast here this morning. I had berry and yoghurt pancakes and my husband had full English. Both really tasty and the pancakes were beautifully presented. Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Food was served promptly by Shai who was very attentive and looked after us. Table next to us had a minor disaster with a drink and initially I thought the young lad who was serving had ignored them and walked past them but he'd gone to grab some stuff to mop up the mess and resolved the screaming kid situation with the minimum of fuss. Food portions were good, tasted fresh and the Tex-Mex beyond burger was very tasty. Could not fault our meal out.
