Cakey's in Kirklees

What an awful experience! I called in with my Daughter and Niece for a drink and a snack. My daughter chose a diet coke and some brownies. My Niece wanted a fruit shoot and some pringles. We paid for them and as we were walking away my 4 year old niece wanted to sit down to drink her drink and eat her snack. I don't even know how to convey how embarrassed you made us feel when you came over to us and announced ... "I didn't realise you were eating inside! You can't eat the brownies in here or I'd have charged you more"! At the time.... There were only 2 more tables of customers. So not like you even needed the room l! I had no idea there was a difference in price and you embarrassed me so much I purchased a coffee, just so I could wait for my niece and daughter to eat their snack! I have NEVER been somewhere and made to feel so embarrassed ever and I will NEVER come back. Neither will my Mum, who often comes in with her grandchildren. Do better!

What a find. Travelling back to our hotel we just happened to pass this place and had a lovely late afternoon snack. Lovely cosey atmosphere, friendly staff and great prices.

Had afternoon tea for Mum’s birthday with my sister. It was delicious especially the soup. The girls could not do enough for us and happily changed our sandwiches to suit our tastes. Definitely be back again. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend

Fabulous hidden gem in Scissett!! I have visited this place many times to meet friends/family or visit the Christmas craft evenings, The coffees are amazing, the cakes are to die for, and it’s also a lovely little shopping experience, Great attentive staff and so friendly So nice to have this place so close 👍🏻

What a great find! Excellent coffee, great food and staff who go above and beyond. Comfortable atmosphere and spotlessly clean. Well worth a visit or three!

What a fabulous little gem of a place. Staff can't do enough for you. Clean and well kept venue. Great choice of cakes and light bites. Great coffee!! Venue also has a good selection of gifts, cards and produce to take home. Well worth a visit!!
