I asked Hannah to make a cake for my daughter’s 30th birthday and it was amazing. Exactly as I asked for. It tasted lovely but to be honest the decoration and skill was the best. She was able to accommodate dietary requirements which helped too. I highly recommend. Plus I’ve had afternoon tea twice at her cafe which were both wonderful 😊

Went for Afternoon Tea with two friends to this charming little tea room. Super ambience and, staff were lovely, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Book in advance as space is limited but you will not be disappointed. Fabulous communication beforehand re dietary requirements. The afternoon tea itself was delightful - freshly made sandwiches; fruit scones (with a bowl of clotted cream and another of jam!); we also had lemon drizzle cake, brownies and rocky road. Last, but definitely not least fabulous meringues with fresh cream and fruit. Tea and coffee plentiful and lots of choice. I do not eat cheese, so my sandwiches were prepared and served separately - very thoughtful. There was so much food we couldn’t eat it all so were provided with boxes and bags to take the rest home. A really lovely afternoon was had by all three of us and we will definitely be back!

After some fantastic afternoon teas and take away cakes from the shop I reached out to the team about our wedding cake and evening treats for guests. Hannah was amazing throughout, she was super helpful and accommodated all our requests and gave us loads of options on flavours and decorating and accommodated a special bake for vegan and gluten free guests, as well as providing much needed cake boards. Hannah created a beautiful main wedding cake which was delicious! She also made an extra birthday cake for the morning after the wedding and an absolute mountain of assorted tray bakes which were used in our evening buffet. Cannot tell you how many positive comments there were! People went absolutely mad for the tray bakes - the millionaires shortbread disappeared in minutes, we didn’t even have time to get any photos of the baked out before they were all tucked into by grateful guests! Even our neighbours were talking about the bakes the next day! We will 100% be returning for any cake related catering needs going forward! Would recommend you try some of Hannah’s cake either in the shop or directly as it’ll brighten your day!

Scrumptious afternoon. Lovely sandwiches, great choice of cakes, scones (plenty of jam and cream) AND pavlova dessert plus lots of tea. Had to give in and have a doggy bag to take cakes home. Cute little tea room lovingly decorated, embroidered tablecloths and vintage cups, saucers, plates and teapots. Been years since I've used a tea strainer:). Thoroughly recommend. Disappointed we complete forgot to take any photos.

We then all had a slice of cake, my raspberry and white chocolate was delicious as were the chocolate and carrot cake slices. The staff were very pleasant and it was lovely to have music playing on a record player. We thought rhe food was reasonably priced and of a very high quality . Had a wonderful event here for a baby shower in June 2019 for 16 people. The ladies were so helpful and lovely throughout the booking process, the day itself and ensured all went smoothly. The three course afternoon tea was fantastic and there was plenty of it! Tasty sandwiches and very delicious scones and cakes! We had a couple of attendees with very specific dietary needs and these were met with no issues. We were able to bring along our own decor but only a little was required as the cafe is very nicely decorated inside anyway. We were also able to provide our own prosecco which the girls kindly chilled for us upon arrival which allowed us to have a little toast during the afternoon tea as well. Would definitely recommend and will be a first thought for any future events. Thanks so much Cakestand and Crumb team :) x

Very small room, we were sat at a table squashed between two others, very noisy as we were an arms length away from a table of 6. The sandwiches were tiny, the scones bite size, one being already sliced which made we wonder if it had been left over from another customer. What added insult to injury was that the scones in the cabinet were normal size. The cakes were certainly not worth the price, once again the cakes in the cabinet were far more appetising.

I’ve visited before as a small group for sandwiches and cake and had a good experience. This visit was with a large group for afternoon tea that was really too much for the tiny cafe to cope with. The table was a very tight fit, a good job we knew each other well. Sandwiches were traditional ham and mustard, egg, Brie and cranberry etc. The scones were tasty and very tiny. Eton mess in a tea cup was an unusual addition. The quality of the tea was variable from acceptable to very weak indeed. We had to ask for a pot to be replaced because it was so weak.

My friends and I met each other for lunch and were really looking forward to a good catch up. My friend booked well in advance for a table and was told that we could have a table at 11:30am but they would need the table back by 2pm. This was fine by us. We got there, and the table cloths were very dirty with jam stains. We ordered our food and in the middle of eating the waitress told us that we needed to be out by 1pm. We explained that this was not what we had been told but the waitress couldn't care less. They were all extremely rude, and made us rush down our food!! There was no offer of any compensation for their mistake and they didn't value our custom one bit. We will not be returning! Terrible place!! Dirty, too small and horrible service!

We dropped in for tea and cake on a rainy afternoon. Tea was great and cake selection also good. Unfortunately visit was marred by a cracked cup. Not a problem in itself, but when I asked politely for a new one, it was taken away without comment and a new one virtually thrown down in front of me. The notice in the toilet made us chuckle 'please please please only spend a penny or the toilet overflows into the cafe' However, a nice little stop off

This tiny cafe serves great cakes (as well as savouries) in a peaceful corner of Ampthill's town centre. Well worth a visit to this independent local establishment.

A tiny tea room serving sandwiches, and delicious homemade cakes on vintage china crockery. When we visited it was not possible to pay by card.

Such a lovely independent cake shop. You can eat in or get cakes to take away. Also do sandwiches. You have to book though. Also cater for children with children's menu and crumpets.Really relaxing, listening to Glen Miller vinyl on an old Dansette. This place is a must for anyone who doesn't do dieting!!

Sadly shut forever unless someone comes up with extortionate price Fullers want. Could be such a great destination pub with right chef

A very welcoming experience thanks to the excellent heritage centre guides who knew their stuff and pointed us in the right direction. The Centre is a must visit not just for aged train spotters but for every one. The line has a new future with East West Rail which needs all our support to get locals back on trains. Great coffee and cake made the day.

It started well with a good selection on the menu. When we came to order our breakfast sandwiches my friend asked how much it would be to add an egg to her bacon sandwich, at which point the waitress advised that the prices on the menu had increased so weren't correct & could only say they had gone up by about 50p. On asking for a sparkling water she advised that had also gone up by 20p maybe 30p, these increases were due to the cost of living increase. When we questioned why the menus hadn't been updated she advised there were new owners & it hadn't been done yet but that there was a sign on the wall inside the shop advising of the price increase, we were sat outside but to be honest anyone entering the shop wouldn't have seen it as it would have been behind them. She then brought out the A4 sign. She also tried to find an updated menu which she couldn't find. Firstly I am sure this must be illegal to advertise one price & charge another & secondly a hand written note could have been added to the menu or a copy of the price increase attached to the menu which everyone would have seen. Maybe the new owners should hold fire on the price increase until new menus are available as it may save their reputation. The breakfast sandwiches were very tasty, however the 'glass' that accompanied the sparkling water was in fact a jar with a thread for a screw top. Some might call it funky but not to everyone's taste. Needless to say it wasn't used. There are standards which have to be met & the clear advertising of correct pricing is one of them. We are all effected by the cost of living crisis & on occasions when we do our bit to support local businesses we might be watching the pennies too.

First time in this local pub for a Sunday roast and didn’t disappoint Friendly welcome and lovely service from all the ladies in the pub All of us had roasts and best roast had for some time went large all the meats and decent portion and selection of veg Finished off with lovely creamy ice cream and can recommend the sticky toffee pudding Good pint London pride and nice hot floater coffees Will take some beating for friendly staff and decent food
