I recently visited Cake Box in Langley Green and decided to join their loyalty scheme, hoping to benefit from the discounts offered. After paying for my order, which totaled £32.57, I was asked to scan my new membership card using Apple Wallet. However, my experience quickly turned disappointing. Upon requesting the bill, I was initially given only the card payment machine slip. When I asked for a full till receipt, the staff member seemed reluctant but eventually provided it. To my surprise, upon checking the receipt, I noticed that I had only been given a 10% discount on one slice of cake, rather than the entire order as promised in the loyalty scheme. When I pointed this out, the lady serving me did not apologize or acknowledge the mistake. Instead, she simply looked at me, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. This lack of accountability left me feeling as though I had been misled, and it raised concerns about the integrity of their loyalty scheme. While the monetary difference may seem small, the principle of honesty and transparency is important to me. If this is how they treat their customers, it raises questions about their business practices. I believe it’s important to raise awareness for new customers, as this experience felt like a scam to me. Unfortunately, due to this dishonest treatment, I will not be returning to Cake Box. I expect better customer service and fairness, especially when it comes to loyalty schemes that are meant to reward customers, not mislead them.

Ordered an 8” photo cake for my partners birthday. When I picked it up his face was squashed wider, it looked awful !! The lady behind the counter went and got a man who said they had to make it square from a portrait photo ??! Why they never rang or emailed me he couldn’t explain. I paid £33.99 and couldn’t take the cake to our family party, it would have been so embarrassing for him so it went straight in the bin .. Gutted !!! After complaining to the company they said they would put it down to experience ?? A full refund and an apology would have been far better. Who has money to waste these days..

I ordered a cake from this outlet 10 min away to receive it at Hilton Gatwick as soon as possible. Checking on Uber eats, they had stopped taking orders through uber where delivery fee was only 1.29. I still wanted it so I paid 12.95 delivery fee and then ordered and paid this approx 50 pound bill for the cake. I had called them beforehand to ensure my situation was communicated and that I needed it before 5. The employee said it was dispatched already at 3pm which meant it should have arrived no later than 30 minute maximum. I stood by the entrance thinking this would arrive any moment. I called back twice and all the employee said was it is 5 minutes away. I got calls from 2 different delivery drivers asking about drop off charge. After paying 14.95 for delivery alone they wanted me to pay extra for drop off. I said i was happy to collect it from afar if thats the case, nothing for the next 2 hours. I waited at the entrance until 5:45pm before the delivery driver handed the cake to me and said it was not his fault, he's just the delivery driver. Moreover, on the first phone call 2 min after the order i had with the employee, i had made it very sure to communicate that i had to commute to guildford via train and needed the packaging or bags if possible. She ensured that would be the case but when it arrived it was just the box. Terrible terrible experience for a popular franchise as Cakebox. Pathetic

The cake are not fresh. Even though the staff will tell you that they are. Been let down more than once.

Easy to order, ready on time and totally delicious. Capped a momentous day spent celebrating at the Windmill.
