Cake Box in South Somerset

We visited the cake box cafe in the Quedam Yeovil for breakfast and have to say we won’t go back. The food was pretty naff to be honest, the option of egg was fried or scrambled. (Couldn’t do poached ) um… really… ? The scrambled egg looked like it was from a packet., and tasted as it looked, don’t get me wrong, the savouries and bread is amazing. But breakfast was a real let down.

Best bakery in the area and brilliant prices.

Popped into the cake box had a lovely lemon viennesse whirl & a piece of chocolate cake. Great service, great food.

I’ve been to the cake box before , but I’m a little disappointed with my first impressions today . Most of the tables had not been cleared away . Only one lady serving whilst in the back kitchen the owner was stood having a laugh and a joke with his other staff , whilst the lady was struggling to do everything. I feel this was a bit unfair. Another customer walked in and they had to clear their own table . Which I wouldn’t expect to do if I’m paying for a coffee & slice of cake ! Come on Cake Box , I’m sure you’re better than this.

After being let down by another baker, I contacted Cake Box with only 24 hours notice to see what they could do. I had a prompt and pleasant response via Facebook and they went above and beyond to help us. The cake is beautifully done and we can’t wait to try the yummy Victoria sponge later on. Thank you Cake Box for all your help!

Have just been to the cake box cafe which has opened in the town centre. Lovely cafe with lovely friendly staff. Lovely lunch with lots of choice of rolls, pastries, cakes etc. Situated in a quiet part of the quedam, would recommend.

Good cakes and well priced but I wish prices were displayed so I didn't have to keep asking how much everything is when making decisions. It would also be helpful when my children are making pocket money choices here.

Lovely bacon, sausage & egg baps aswell as cakes & hot drinks. Great staff always kind and helpful (Jo, Brian & Shannon at the Quedam branch to name a few) lovely to see a business growing, keep it up guys :)

Just like stepping back in time. Price's are extremely reasonable. The size of the items and the quality found within will take anyone by surprise for the price.

Ordered a 21st birthday cake for my daughter. It looked pretty good, but tasted extremely synthetic and not particularly nice. Very oily and not very chocolatey. Certainly not worth the money.

Highly recommend Cake Box Bakery! We used for our wedding evening by filling a doughnut wall with 300 different flavour ring doughnuts that were delivered by Cake Box the morning of our wedding, from their service to their bakes they are amazing! The doughnuts looked awesome and tasted delicious!! All our guests were asking where they were from and we recommend you constantly! We can’t wait to visit the shop for a treat!! Can’t rate this place highly enough they did the catering for our wedding afternoon tea it was truly amazing what a wonderful selection of filled rolls and cakes as well as cream teas. So easy to deal with delivered on time and very good value as I said can’t praise highly enough

Omg just Omg amazing cake only problem I didn't buy more!! Fresh and I mean Fresh!! Homemade hot crossed buns and they are beautiful 😍 I got x2 iced ring doughnuts, x2 mint Australian crunch 6 hot cross buns 1 pack Easter biscuits and a huge slab of carrot cake for just over £10 and they aren't small servings need I say more

I visited The Cake Box Bakery in January 2023 for the first time to stock up on cakes, bread and milk and received excellent service from the lady working in there and I met the co-owner Deb for the very first time and she made me feel welcome during my first visit to the Cake Box Bakery, so highly recommend The Cake Box Bakery because the cakes I bought in there were lovely and the bread was the best I've ever had.

Ordered this cake for my mum at short notice. They were so friendly and couldn't help enough. Collected at a time which worked for me. Excellent value. Beautiful and moreish! Would definitely order again. My friend has already put an order in for her sister because of it! Fab!

Value for money NO, 1 box of cakes and 2 boxes of sandwiches for £250.00, what a rip off. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. The lady who ordered this for a Xmas party in a care home was in tears when she saw what was delivered, she had recently lost her beloved husband and decided it was her last year organising the Xmas party, next year I'll go and buy what we need and make it myself, more for less money.

Ordered a birthday cake at very late notice and was super pleased with them accepting and being able to make it for us. Beautifully presented and daughter was extremely happy with it. Thank you Cake Box 😃 🎂

The best bakery in Yeovil or at least near me 🙂 Their vegan pasties are incredible and I'm not even vegan but they taste amazing.

They have an amazing variety of cupcakes which is a must try. We ordered some of the cupcakes and they were soft and super yumm. Totally loved the taste. The packaging was also cute. And each of them tasted different. Very good quality cakes. Highly recommended.

Bought four cakes this morning, 2 cream donuts and 2 cream shell puff things and asked if they were fresh cream, the girl serving said they were. Well they were awful, stale, the pastry was like dry cardboard and the cream very sweet synthetic stuff. Very disappointing as they actually looked lovely and weren’t cheap! sadly they were inedible and ended up in the bin. My guests had to be content with Jaffa cakes. Sorry I won’t be buying from your shop again.

Definitely not the proper traditional bakers I remember. Was there about 12.30 so plenty of stuff to choose from if you like chocolate. Got what I thought was a cream meringue mums favourite to her disgust it was filled with better cream. They never said it wasn't cream. The Cornish pasties pastry where very hard not nice. But to be fair had a very nice filling. Very disappointed not a traditional bakers cake in the shop. Really fancied a Belgian bu or chealse, or even a decent doughnut. Definitely won't be going back very disappointed.

Had a delivery of assorted rolls ready for a family tea party. They were delivered on time by a friendly driver. The rolls were absolutely delicious and very fresh. Everyone enjoyed them and they were eaten in a flash. Thank you very much.

Arrived around 10am and there was so much to choose from. Great place!

I had been before a few months ago thought it was great tasty moist cakes and lovely bread however returned recently to find dry cakes and the bread was doughy and somehow burnt at the same time. Unsure what has changed but don’t think I’ll be back in a hurry.

Be careful here. Belly busting fare available in delicious quantities.

Love their pasties! You can't beat a small independent bakers can you. The staff are also nice to deal with too, just don't go in if you are in a diet.

Cracking afternoon tea. After a slight delay, the goods arrived for our son's 3rd Birthday. As an apology they included an extra couple of cupcakes. Cant fault the selection and well priced for the amount you receive. Thanks again and we'll be using in the future!

I always pop in when I go to have my hair done, so I can take some cakes to the girls at the hairdressers. They always look forward to their "Cake Shop" treats. I also bought a granary bloomer loaf. It was delicious. The Cake Shop is hard to beat!

This is a traditional bakery. Their bread is so tasty. Their Chelsea buns are amazing. Long live the small bakery.

Best bakers for miles. Has some lovely specials. Bought some cupcakes in the shape of the cookie monster for the grandchildren. Thier bread lasts a lot longer than supermarkets.

I can't recommend the Cake Box high enough, we get our bread, cakes and biscuits here often, and it's really good food. Also, they' ve been wonderful bringing us a delivery of bread whilst we were self isolating. I just can't thank them enough.

First Impressions Not Good! Man behind counter on phone ,unwelcoming. Lady came ,I asked if there were any Cream Doughnuts,"dont have any"!! Settled for Jam & Cream Pastry,Synthetic Cream & a Chelsea Bun that was edging on the verge of being Stale!

Lovely cakesvand home mafe rolls keep me comimg back. The cheesecake is lovely and creamy with loads of toppings. The rolls and pastrys are a cut above the large chain offerings. A bit off the beaten track but worth a look

Been shopping here on and off for donkeys years. Cannot praise their bread highly enough. If you're feeling a bit crusty, go there and treat yourself to another other kind of crusty. You're guaranteed to cheer up.

This is a great little shop, off the beaten track. We always come here for cakes when we have a special occasion. There is always a good selection of cakes available.

We ordered a surprise 50th Anniversary cake for 23rd December and they did an amazing job! The cake was perfect and everyone that had some thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend them for a special cake and would use them every time
