Delicious. Loved the concept - lots of cakes to choose from and then decide whether you want custard or not. We had the chocolate brownie with custard but lots of other options available. Quick service and delicious. I suspect it won’t be the same if ordered home but it came to our table fresh and hot.

We made a massive order and received only one thing and an additional cake which is not what we ordered. Very disappointing won’t be ordering again.

Ordered for home delivery with a waiting time of 25 minutes quoted, which kept on being pushed back, until an hour later when my order was cancelled with no apology or explanation. My money has been taken from my bank account and won’t be back for 48 hours.

Ordered two desserts from this place and was given a delivery time of 25 minutes which then changed to 45 minutes and then an hour and half until being outright cancelled. Terrible service. Don’t order from here.

So I ordered in the evening for delivery. The custard were neither hot or warm. The apple crumble did not taste fresh. However, they provide a good portion size of the custard and I would say their cakes and lotus biscoff cheesecake tasted nice.

My kidz love this desert place. Its located on the main road. The shop is usually busy with customers and delivery drivers taking orders. I have visited this shop many times. The cake and custard have always been of good quality. The staff have alwaya been friendly. Price is very good if you collect rather then delivery option.

Unbelievablely disgusting!! The cakes tasted old & off, when me and my friends complained they made excuse. The lady at the counter was rude! I'd get better from the over the counter cakes...pls dont waste your money

Very disappointed. No taste in cake and lady delivered the cake saying "sorry the ice cream is melted"- no attempt to rectify. The ice cream is straight out the tub of Iceland or some sort. Also slow service and even forgot one item on the order. Poor quality. What a waste of time.

I ordered some vegan cakes on deliveroo and the app glitched so I couldn't even rate the restaurant. I never bother leaving a review for places really, but I really wanted to because I am so impressed with how delicious these cakes are. It is my birthday and I dont live in london AND I am vegan, and they didn't have one of the things I ordered, so I was initially quite disappointed, but the customer service and the way they dealt with the issue left me completely happy and I felt like they really went all out to makeup for what I couldn't have. Their cakes are served in decent portion sizes and they are a very decently priced, especially considering how delicious they are! The ONLY thing I would comment on, at all, is that I hope that they can start using more ethical packaging... however, that is literally the only criticism I have. Seriously recommended this place so much!

After getting some comforting school style puddings from The Caramel Tart Company, I discovered that they had a dessert shop on Commercial Road near Whitechapel so I just had to go there. It is a lovely place to spend an afternoon or go there after school if you are a still a student. There is a lovely glass cabinet which displays all the desserts and menu. Strangely I didn't try the caramel tart at the other branch which was called Caramel tart because I was overwhelmed with all those sponge desserts so I tried the caramel tart here with custard. The caramel tart base was thin and crumbly complimented deliciously by the custard but it would be good if they had the school type shallow bowls to give it that complete school feeling. Will definitely recommend this to anyone as it is a lovely place to hangout.

Deeeelicious home made cake finally a dessert place had opened that is less about the frills and more about the taste. We had the whitelicious and pineapple turnover and lotus cheese cake which was divine tastes like the one from pizza express. The cake and custard was so good aswell without it being overly sweet. Well done guys!

Stef was a superhero to our 9 year old who hit his head gawping at the London skyline. Stef grabbed a huge bag of ice and helped our little boy in his hour of need. Frappacinos and coffee great here too.

Im assuming this is the stour cafe 258 Kingsland Road, and if not then thats what I'm talking about! Amazing coffee and the best bacon sarnie Ive ever eaten. Had in back in early December. Sour dough bread, butter, amazing meat and brown sauce - it was just brilliant. The bread was ace too. Great chef!

Sargeant's Mess is a British restaurant just in front of the Tower of London and adjacent to Tower Bridge. Created by celebrity chef Mark Sargeant, the restaurant serves unmemorable food in a fairly bland atmosphere buttressed by one of the most spectacular locations in London. The food concept behind Mess is to offer traditional British fare at a high quality. Frankly, it is just average. The food is the weakpoint of the restaurant. The concept just seems to have fallen away with for instance the only vegetarian dish in the main course even using the American name Mac N Cheese. It is ok but it is just macaroni cheese so there's a clear ceiling to how good it can be. A large part of the menu is burgers. Not exactly traditional British fare. The vegetarian burger was not bad because it had an avocado in it. Otherwise not the kind of a quality a specialist upmarket provider might generate. Dessert options are fairly limited though the Eton Mess is ok. Service was not that great unfortunately. The faux accent was jarring in its articulation. Chips as an accompaniment to a burger were served without question as to whether a condiment could be offered then an over the top response was generated to a question asking whether such a thing could be provided. Price is high considering the fare. The location does demand a price like that but the food does not. Sargeant just has failed to generate interesting eating. One real shame for a December lunch was that it turned out the Christmas menu was not on offer. It was a real disappointment and made the whole place feel like a let-down. The plus is absolutely the magnificent location. Nestling in the shadow of the Tower and next to Tower Bridge the views are incredible. Looking out at the Thames is beautiful here although the number of window seats is quite small. However, going outside while waiting for food for instance offers a terrific perspective on some of London's finest buildings. Admittedly it is perfectly possible just to walk along the Thames and get the same view. Sargeant's Mess is ultimately a disappointment. The food is flavourless and too simple. Nothing interesting about it at all. No creativity or flair. The price reflects the location and so is too much for the quality of the eating. Service is not great and it was such a shame to find the menus advertised on the website did not exist in reality. The plus is the magnificent location, one of the very best anywhere in London.
