Popped in today, a lovely cafe, good service. Had a frappé latte and a scone with jam and cream. All good tasted excellent and was good value. If you are in the area pop in, you won't be disappointed. 😊

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here found in the corner of the Long stay car park in Pickering. Bright,clean and busy cafe. Staff highly efficient and friendly. Varied menu catering for all tastes and dietary requirements although don't do chips. Lunch at reasonable prices and generous portions. Will certainly return, thanks.

Nice food, great service from the older gentleman all 5 of us enjoyed the food. Would recommend and return. Parking very close.

No Chef but instead of saying food would take ages to arrive they said nothing until my wife went back in after half an hour enquiring where our food was, still not arrived after an hour so not as impressive as others have reported. If you don’t have a chef be honest and say no cooked food, we only had two hours to stop in Pickering and wasted both sat waiting for something to eat when there were another dozen or so places we could have gone

The food is ALL absolutely delicious. We had afternoon tea, they was 23 of us the staff were amazing. The food was freshly made and baked. Bottomless tea and coffee.

We ate here twice during a recent stay in Pickering, the breakfast was great, the staff were friendly and the brownies were amazing. Would highly recommend.

Had an absolutely amazing afternoon tea for my birthday, the food was incredibly delicious and there was soooo much, it was certainly value for money. Can definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed my breakfast. Well cooked and tasty. Welcomed and served by friendly helpful staff. I was very pleased to see the Ambulance staff getting free hot drinks!!!!!!!!

The young man who served us was very pleasant and helpful. The Iced Frappe Latte was delicious as was the hot chocolate, will definitely be returning soon!!

Stopped off here for brunch en route to Robin Hood Bay. Covid 19 well catered for hand sanitiser and social distance tables.Breakfast was a good size portion and great value.Staff friendly and quick service

Food here is great and good value. The baked potatoes and the all day brekky are recommended. Staff really helpful. The place is clean and airy with some tables outside, which we used. Only drawback Is that it is positioned in a large carpark. Luckily when we visited there were very few cars there and no tour coaches. So it was quite quiet. I suppose it does make the spot easily accessible by car! If you can sit inside, this is the recommended option.

Went here with the family as everyone was craving a full English breakfast and we were very happy with what we had - if you can put away a bigger breakfast like me order the big Stevie it was very nice. The place was nice and clean and well lit with windows all round creating a bright welcoming environment. PS toast was a bonus - nice thick bread!

We called today whilst out walking from Thornton le Dale. As soon as we approached a table to sit down a As As soon as we arrived the waitress approached us to ask what we wanted. We asked to look at a menu. Eventually she returned and we asked for a decaf latte to be told they only do decaf tea. When we asked for a decaf americano as well she said she would ask. We also ordered two cherry scones. Eventually the scones arrived with a tiny pat of butter each but no knife to cut the scone!! After a wait the coffees arrived but no information was available as to whether they were decaf or not. The waitress then asked if we needed a knife for the scones. After quite a while and no knife arrived I had to find her and ask for them. With care the butter supplied just put a thin coating on one half of the scone!! I approached the waitress again and asked for more butter for the scones to which she returned with one more pat of butter. I had to explain this was for both scones so another was supplied. The scone was so dry and tasted old, we couldn't believe it. The menu clearly stated the order would be taken at the cleaned table and payment would be taken there. This was apparently not correct as payment had to be made at the counter where people were queueing to order food to eat out. Whilst standing at the counter for quite some time the waitress who had taken our order informed the other lady at the counter I was waiting to pay, at which she put her head in her hands and walked off to a small booth in the corner returning to take the payment.Whilst we sat at our table a gentleman appeared carrying a tray with food on but had no knowledge as to who the order belonged. It turned out some was a part order for one table whilst the rest was a part order for a different table. As we arrived a customer claimed one of the outside tables and followed us in to order his coffee. Despite the length of time it took us to oder, eat and queue to pay he was just receiving his coffee, obviously not very happy.As the title says it wasn't an experience which will encourage us to return!!

We went here for brunch. We both ordered the all day breakfast. The cafe felt very safe with all the changes they had in place. We followed this with a slice of cake each. Friendly helpful staff and value for money.

We had afternoon tea for 3 today. Absolutely delicious and the food just kept coming. Couldn't believe how much we got, went home with a full doggy bag! It was excellent and great service, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend the afternoon tea

The food is very cheap and good quality nice and the staff are lovely will definitely be returning again.

We stopped in here on the 4th July. The staff were friendly and well organised. Especially considering it was the first day open after the covid shutdown.Breakfast was okay. Hubby had the full English and he was happy. I asked for a vegetarian breakfast. It was nice enough but just eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans and toast.Nice enough but not nice enough to make us return.

Coffee is good and cakes ok. Some appear to be bought in and not home made. Fresh food very good. Staff very friendly. Good value for money

Absolutely love the food and cakes here, cannot fault this. However of late the caffe smells of the kitchen and there is often a haze of smoke. You leave with your hair and clothes smelling of burnt bacon. The service has also gone downhill, often not been greeted by the staff and sometimes there is a long wait for food.

We went in today for breakfast and our little ones and they loved it. The kids couldn’t have enjoyed it more, the staff had a laugh with them and it gave me a couple of minutes to eat my Steve’s breakfast. It was a lovely stop off and won’t be the last time that we stop off here. Next time we go to Dalby forest we will be coming here first.

Down hill as soon as we arrived......Walked in to an empty cafe and as we had a 4 year old who wanted space on the table, we were told we were not allowed to sit at the table that was larger but could sit there but if a group came in we would have to move. Not worth the hassle so we opted for the smaller table.Having used the cafe for many years under the previous owners, the same menu has been replaced with cheaper alternatives (sausages on the breakfast are not fatty alternatives) the bacon Brie and cranberry panini was missing Brie and an authentic looking panini.When we came to pay I informed the lady that I wouldn’t be paying as I never ate it, the issue could have maybe been rectified had someone come over during our meal to ask “if everything was ok” the waitress (who was sat at a table eating) whilst I paid gave me a dirty look towards her colleague. Tip to the waitress: be careful because some people can have eyes in the back of their heads or friends with them who see you dish out those filthy looks.The establishment is clearly now catering for coach trips who will use the cafe once and never be seen again, shame really because a clear lack in customer service pushes people to the over priced and mass produced conglomerates such as costa! Change your ways or loose the local trade, which judging by a Saturday during kids holidays you already have!

The food is absolutely delicious. I’d had a cooked breakfast with tasty sausages and yummy scrambled egg. The staff were nice they gave me nice food they had some lovely treat’s I had a chocolate bun. I gave them 100 stars because they made amazing food and were very friendly. By Elizabeth aged 7.

Always call whenever in Pickering, lovely food and great staff. In my opinion the only Caffe to Stop at there.

I visit here every week and can never fault it. The food is friendly and the staff are tasty. It is always very clean and welcoming. Dave and his team work hard in delivering excellent customer service. I would of posted a pic of my food but I ate it before writing this review as I was hungry

Went in for a sandwich, went for the full English. Fabulous, fry up with 2 sausage 2 rashers of thick bacon , egg, beans and granary toast. Absolute unexpected delight with good service too.

we usually call in here when we go to Pickering as it is right by the car park. the coffee is always good and they has good toilet facilities.

Our sandwiches & pastries were delicious. Good quality food at down to earth Yorkshire prices. Great friendly service, you can even take anything from the menu home. Highly recommend

We just stopped by on our way back from the coast for take away sandwiches. The staff were really friendly and we ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches which were piping hot when we got them and then ordered a children’s sandwich and all were delicious. While waiting for them I couldn’t help but notice the tasty cakes buns and biscuits so ordered some of these to go too. Really good price, a clean place with friendly staff Definitely worth a visit.

Dropped in for a light lunch. Staff were friendly, service was swift and the Ploughman's was stunning. Great value for money too. Will definitely be calling again.

We stumbled on this place by sheer accident and boy were we glad. The surroundings aren't the best but its clean, the staff are lovely but the food is absolutely excellent. I opted for the mozzarella, pesto, olive and sundried tomato panini which was bursting with ingredients and packed with flavour. I have to say that it was the best panini I have ever tasted. My husband had the chicken and bacon panini and my mum had the coronation chicken jacket potato which was absolutely piled high with filling. All came with a delicious side salad and a lovely dressing. Very reasonably priced and you didn't have to wait very long. Overall excellent and we shall be back!!

Called a few times for breakfast. Brilliant, quick and good service everytime. Do gluten free bread and cakes I believe. Also one time my order was wrong and they gave a smoothie on the house, can’t fault the service. All members of staff are lovely too. Bacon is amazing too!!!

What lovely, helpful staff they are! My friend and I go regularly for a cuppa and a catch up and they really are lovely. The food is delicious and helpings always look very generous when we see other people's orders arriving! The wait whilst the food is cooked isn't long, but as it's freshly cooked, it takes the time it needs to cook properly. The cakes are delicious and my gluten free cake is always properly served to avoid cross contamination, and I can enjoy it with confidence, knowing that it won't make me poorly.

Next to main car park. Limited menu but our breakfasts were well cooked and promptly served. Looks popular with locals. Clean toilets. Ramp access for disabled.

A regular lunch stop for me after work. Called in Sunday and only just managed to get a seat because the place was completely full. However service was swift and friendly as always. Well done Joanne and the team!

Ordered four breakfast plus extras that didn't arrive and eggs very hard! No one checked on the table and no customer care! Also ordered a tea cake , it really is a skill to make it so flat! Waitress very blunt!

Have often stooped here when visiting family,. Now a regular visitor to the cafe. Great food, friendly staff, an ideal place for a nice coffee and lunch when visiting lovely Pickering.

The coffee was nice but my toasted teacake looked like it had been flattened in a panini press! Still tasted ok tho.

Called here after seeing it when we parked up, it was closing In the next 30 minutes, I had a jacket potato with beans and cheese, it came well presented and garnished with a lovely colourful salad and was delicious, my husband had the all day breakfast and he said it was top notch and the toast too. Could have done with brollies over the tables outside as the sun was beating down. Will definitely be visiting again in the future as the prices were good too

This is our go to place for fab food and coffee in Pickering. Always brilliant service from the happy team, headed by Joanne. Delicious food, reasonably priced, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, what more could you ask for........

This cafe is situated next to the coach park and public toilets, and so may be a convenient spot for a quick cuppa for travellers. It's a pretty ordinary cafe, pleasant enough interior, table service. They don't do chips. Prices somewhat on the high side eg £4.50 for soup and £1.80 for a canned drink.

Stopped here on the way to our camp site, the cafe is adjacent to a large car park which is really handy. We loved the fact it was dog friendly and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We both had an All Day Breakfast which was lovely, this also came with thick buttered toast and tea or coffee. Will definitely return.

We always stop off in Pickering en route to Whitby, on this occasion we took advantage of Breakfast at Caffe Stop, situated adjacent to the Car Park it is obviously very popular given the number of people within.Despite being really busy we were served promptly and the "Young Staff" were excellent, Our two Full English Breakfasts were "spot on" and My Wife Michelle was about to leave part of it given how filling it was, I obviously did the Gentlemanly thing and relieved her of a Sausage and Slice of Bacon !!, the Black Pudding was awesome. Reasonably priced we tipped well and will certainly be calling again en route to Whitby....Well Done !

My husband and i have visited this cafe on quite a few occasions either on our way to Whitby or on our return journey and always have enjoyed the snack/lunch we have had, the staff are very friendly and helpful, they have a varied menu all prepared to order. The cafe is in a car park just behind the public toilets and unless you use the car park you wouldn’t know it was there, they have a few seating areas outside and dog friendly, we would recommend you give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

War weekend in Pickering , couldn't find anyway to eat. Found this little cafe on the bus/car park, looks like nothing special on the outside, but had a surprisingly good meal. Had an all day breakfast and the quiche with salad, both excellent. Salad was lovely, with fresh crisp ingredients including fruit, nicest I've had in a while. Excellent coffee too. Will be calling back soon. Good service, friendly staff.

We were on a bus tour and had an hour break in Pickering. Decided to head in the direction of the Caffe Stop despite it seeming a bit out of the way. Can't say we were feeling confident when we finally tracked it down, but the coffee was quite good and our piece of cake as well. Best of all was the price which was very modest.

Drove into Pickering for brunch & this place was located right next to the car park we used so decided to give it a go. Nice location with an organic farm shop opposite. Full of work men in high vis bibs but this place is better than the average greasy spoon.

We are regular visitors to Pickering having a touring caravan on a seasonal pitch locally. Caffe Stop is our place to go for bacon/sausage butties and a cup of tea on our way up we've also had full breakfasts and called in for lunch. We never leave without taking cake to have later, the Carrot Cake is 'simply the best'.

Traditional type cafe that serves good coffee and breakfast sandwiches etc, The smoothies are gorgeous and you can get them to take out! There is seating outside, but the cafe is in Eastgate car park so not the most glamourous of locations! :-)

Había una selección limitada de desayuno pero parece flexible por lo que puede elegir, todos intercambiamos nuestras tazas de té para otras bebidas. Sin duda nos volveremos a volver :-)

Disfrutamos plenamente de nuestra comida en este establecimiento. La comida y el servicio era excelente. Recomiendo el queso hamburguesa. El personal era muy agradable y nos dio la bienvenida.

Came for a full English, lovely food, great prices! Everything was perfect (the bacon could have been crispier but that's just my personal preference haha!) lovely staff, would definitely come again.

Visited with family while camping nearby. Very good food with a healthy angle. Liked that chips were NOT on the menu. We ate burgers served with salad coleslaw and potato salad very tasty and also a jacket potato which was enjoyed by the recipient. Staff cheerful and friendly - will visit again next time we are in the area

Stopped for a bacon butty and tea - lovely and good value special offer. Right on car park near public toilets by main roundabout. Friendly staff - clean and tidy with outdoor seating.

Ordered a soup each and a BLT to share and after we finished the soup we struggled to eat the BLT. Never mind they put it in a box to eat later and the dogs loved it (well the bacon anyway!)Very good cheap cafe and local for the parking in Pickering

What a cafe! Great food and great staff, I really enjoyed my hot chocolate with all the trimmings and prawn in Marie rose sandwich. I always enjoy my stops at the Cafe. Would highly recommend.

We meet regularly with friends in this venue. Always a great welcome they know what our order is and service is great. Coffee is good and good selection of ''eat treats'' highly recommended .

Really nice out of the way cafe. Lovely staff great food friendly atmosphere.. it serves mainly snacks and sandwiches, quiche, soup etc. Not large lunches with veg etc. cakes are amazing! Also great takeaway service if your going for a picnic..

Stopped off at lunch time on a Thursday. Jacket Potato with Chilli Chicken very nice and nice to have a different filling choice . Husband had Burger with Cheese and Mushroom and was equally satisfied. Both had Coffee and free top ups, Very impressed with service and cleanliness- spoyless.

We visted on the 1st June after searching for dog friendly eateries. So glad we checked it out, staff are lovely, food very good, coffee great, clean and relaxed. We came back today and will visit again on our next trip to NYMs

Very clean, plenty of seating including number of high chairs. Greeted with a smile and warm welcome. We chose selection of cooked breakfasts - with welcome choice of breads for toast. Everyone happy with meals using local produce which is very welcome. One suggestion would be to offer vegetarian options. I had a good coffee and my girls enjoyed thick shakes. We definitely recommend to families.

We visited on a damp Saturday with our daughter in law and grandchildren. The food was excellent. We all had something different and they were all spot on. A bit of character but nothing pretentious, just how we like it. The service could be a little better, only because we would of spent more if encouraged, but having said that, the fact that the staff weren't 'in our face' made it an enjoyable experience Highly recommended

We visited Caffe Stop today for lunch and we were very impressed with it, the staff were very polite and efficient and the cafe was very clean and nicely decorated. We had sweet potato and parsnip soup which was delicious, the leek and smoked cheese soup sounded nice as well. Would recommend a visit, a lovely experience

The food served in this lovely café is simply the best !The cakes that are made on the premises are divine .There is a lovely children's corned with comfortable sofas there. The character of this place is warm,homely and friendly.The staff are very pleasant and helpful. There is a positive atmosphere in the air and I have noticed that it is an animal friendly café ! How nice is that? Can warmly recommend it to anyone :o)

We visit Pickering regularly and always stop for lunch at Caffe Stop. The food is delicious, always lovely and fresh salads and the best Panini's I have ever had. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing is to much trouble for them.

Our 2nd visit...1st was a takeaway cappuccino, flapjack and caramel slice...yum :-DCame back the day after for full breakfast...really nice, locally sourced food, fantastic toast...really thick and smothered in butter!Even got filter coffee refill...staff great, venue clean and tidy, lots of choice on menu, including all day breakfast ....and loads of room to park as its next to pay and display....great stop before or after a day at dalby....will definitely come again.

My family and I visited here today for a teatime treat for a birthday. We basically came for the scone, jam and cream that we had when visited last time (see my previous review). As previously stated they are MASSIVE and so tasty, there was cheese and fruit scones on offer today. My father had his usual bacon bap and loads of tea, and my partner had the daily special which was just lovely, bacon, goats cheese and caramelised onion paninni (unfortunately there was no paninni left so there was a toastieoffered as an alternative) with salad on the side which he said was really tasty and looked great, include lots of hot cups of coffee and we all left happy!.The girls who work here are just lovely and really friendly and nothing is too much trouble.Lots of choice and very reasonably priced. Will come again in the summer.

Has to be said that I preferred the old site at the top of the market place but it's easy to see the sense of the move. Nothing has changed in terms of the quality of the food or service both of which are excellent. I've used the place to drop In for a quick coffee or for longer meetings. You are never rushed or pressured and the pace is relaxed but efficient.

We recently moved to Pickering and discovered Caffe Stop. While we have now moved in properly we still visit the cafe I absolutely love their salads, you an eat in or take away. Everything is quality food and at the best peice

Stopped here today with my parents and Aunt and we just wanted a quick bite to eat . Staff were lovely and friendly and explained they would come to the table and take our order. Special blackboard with the daily soup and quiche choice along with other specials/choices additional to the main menu. Order taken from the helpful staff of 3 scones with jam and cream,with coffees and a bacon bun and a tea. The cheese scones were just amazing really big and so soft and tasted wonderful......probably the best cheese scones I have ever had. My father's bacon sandwich was lovely and he stated his tea was nice hot and strong.....just as he likes it. Wish I had taken a photo of my scone it was just so nice. Overall a really pleasant visit on a wet day in Pickering. Would definitely visit again and it's also dog friendly. Thanks so much Caffè Stop!

Here for the 1940's weekend and came in both days service and food is great and lots to choose from ..I would recommend the Caffe Stop when visiting Pickering

One of the best paninis we've had so far - with goats cheese, bacon and caramelised onion. Nice spacious surroundings and friendly staff. What a fabulous find!

Good bits lovely friendly staff, pleasant and seem happy to be at work, attentive most of the time. Not so good bits:far too many large flies (I counted 10 at one point) and settling on eating areas. Lid on coffee pot loose n dribbling. Lastly although some people may like extra extra thick toast (approx 3 slices thick) I found this unpleasant and under toasted. It might be advisable to mention this in the menu,particularly for people who may have dietary requirements,this would enable them to place a bespoke order and not waste money or food.

We called for lunch on a Friday on our way for a weekend at Scarborough. We have visited this cafe before a few times for coffee on our way to the coast, but not eaten there before. The lunches we had were delicious, hot drinks quickly served and staff welcoming and friendly. We were so impressed with the food that rather than have breakfast in Scarborough on the Sunday morning, we decided to head back to Caffe Stop and have our breakfast there as it was on our way home and were impressed with the quality of food and standard of service. We will definitely visit again and perhaps sample the delicious looking cakes next time too!

We stopped here for a light lunch when passing through Pickering and really pleased we did as the food was delicious and very good value. Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely eat here again.

Nice and tidy cafe plenty of room clean and cosy very tasty food from a great menu but for me breakfast is one of the best i have had staff very friendly

This lovely café, is ran by a lovely lady, her staff are all very friendly and attentive! There is a good range of drinks to choose from and also a good range of foods, many home made cakes, scones etc on show to tempt you too! The service has always been very quick, and you aren't sat long before everything arrives. One of my favourites is the carrot cake! A must try!

We had a takeout lunch, the food was good quality and the staff were really attentive by making sure they made a lunch for my 3 year old that he would like.

Whilst stopping in Helmsley on holiday last week we called in here once we'd got directions on two separate days, once for late morning coffee - which turned into brunch, then the following day for a late afternoon drink. It was worth the finding. Nice friendly service from the girls on duty, lovely coffee, good value nice tasting food and snacks, and above all dog friendly. My wife was especially pleased to find they serve decaffeinated tea on request. The granary toast was particularly nice with bread from a local baker. If ever we're back near Pickering we would definitely call again.

Cafe stop is one of my best cafés in Pickering. Even if you are going for a tea or a full English breakfast there are lots of stuff to choose from.

Café Stop is a lovely place to visit, whether just for a coffee or something to eat. The staff are always friendly with good service and the food is delicious. Children are welcome and there is plenty of room between the tables, a lovely place to visit, always excellent.

Although we visited this establishment (twice) on the very busy 40s weekend Saturday we were amazed at the speed of service & excellent quality fare served,the bacon sarnie special is fab,almost to die for!! The cream tea is well worth the very reasonable asking price.there is a terrific menu & the owner & his staff ar very very welcoming.certainly the best cafe we've been to & it beats certain chains into a cocked hat!!
