Went to this coffee stand today and the owner was so rude . The conversation had was totally unacceptable and avoidable so so rude . Thanks for bringing the security guard over as well unbelievable . Thanks for making my visit so memorable and trying to make a show of me in front of my family . Also your hot chocolate was awful . Word of mouth is massive in retail and hospitality , it’s a wonder you have any customers .

Just perfection. Great coffee. Great snacks. A tiny piece of Genuine Italy in Liverpool. Costa will never ever go out of business, so we need to support the Independents in our city. And this is the perfect Independent coffee bar. So, bloody get here!!

Don’t ever miss the real Italian taste of coffee in Liverpool, with an amazing barista, and a great person.

After years trying all Liverpool's coffee joints ...... finally discovered the best. Coffee is sensational and all the food is superb ...... pasta, panini's, soups ..... in fact everything transports you back to Italy ...... why would anyone wish to go to a high street chain when you can have an Independent that is cheaper and miles more tastier. Dantonio is a real character and the staff make the food to order. FAB

This is a real Italian treat ...... the coffee is the best I have tasted in Liverpool and Tony's (he is a real Italian character) has a simple but Fab menu. You can get what is probably the best Coffee and Cake/ Panini/Pasta combo in town ...... and the tastiest. Well worth checking out.

Tucked away in the Met Quarter, it's easy to miss, but you definitely shouldn't. The coffee is excellent ( keep away from the Costa downstairs !) and the sandwiches and cakes are a treat. The pasta meals have a very authentic taste to them and are reasonably priced. There appears to be a regular sprinkling of Italians in the cafe, which is always a good sign. It gets quite crowded with regulars at lunchtime, though there is an upstairs section. The owner Antonio ( Tony ) is one of the cafe's major assets and is always open for a chat to right the wrongs of the world, though he has dubious taste in football ( AC Milan )

If your in Liverpool and want a fantastic cup of coffee then this is the place for you. Forget the chain coffee houses Novecento does coffee to perfection, do not miss one of his brilliant cakes to go with the coffee, my husband recently had the cheesecake and has not stopped talking about it, so I think we may need another trip. My brother lives locally and is a frequent visitor for the soup at lunchtime, he fully recommends it and whilst it changes regularly he has never been disappointed. Excellent service at Caffe Novecento and definitely the best coffee and cakes.

I don't normally do shopping mall food but this place seemed to tick all the boxes. I opted for pasta meatballs and it was delicious. The sauce was lovely and the meatballs were nicely seasoned. The only gripe o have is the server was really quite abrupt. I'm hoping it was just an off day as I will be back next month for sure!

If you visit Italy, and pop into a cafe, Antonio's spot on the first floor of Metcentre is as close to reproducing the experience in Liverpool. When his cafe was in St Thomas St. the authenticity was completed with Italian visitors drinking espresso and smoking outside. The clientele now is less cosmopolitan, but the music and ambience remains Latin, and the cappucino is still a drink worth savouring. The only thing I miss is the people - watching..

I do not live in Liverpool and I thought that as the caffe has an italian name, I will be getting the best coffee and of course the best service. A big dissapointment that was not the case. I asked for a Mocha that tasted and looked like dirty water and I left half of it. It was also very dissapointing to find that the customers who arrived after me where served first and then i had to ask where is mine? Definitely, will not be making another visit.

Hidden gem, is perhaps the best way to describe the Caffe Novocento. It is an independent family run cafe serving coffee tea and a selection of food. Forget the coffee chains with their baristas, give yourself a treat and relax with a coffee served by staff who are welcoming as well as helpful. A favourite stop when shopping.

The staff are excellent, friendly and tentative - the owner Antonio is a real authentic Italian who is passionate about coffee and has plenty of Italian charm and makes you very welcome. All there coffee is excellent - you will taste the difference if you are just used to the chains. Food is freshly made and of a very high quality. Love to visit this place, and am constantly introducing it to friends and family!

Tony's (for that's what many call it) serves the very best coffee in Liverpool. It knocks the spots off what they serve in the branded coffee shops downstairs. The welcome is warm Italian and it's about meeting friends, enjoying the papers and savouring a perfect macchiato. The food is also very good - especially the mid-size pasta dishes that make an ideal lunch.

The cafe itself is quite nice and has nice surroundings in the Met Quater. It wasnt very busy and we found a table easily. The toilets are adequet, although a little strange as you have have to go through a small storage area holding cleaning products etc to get to them.I ordered an americano coffee with a bit of cold skimmed milk on the side. When the drinks arrived after 5 minutes it was actually a latte. I didnt order a latte. I didnt have time to ask for it to be changed as I was in a rush so had to make do.Although, having the drinks brought over is a welcome change to the chain coffee shops where you have to wait for them. That said, Im not sure Id return as there is a Costa Coffee downstairs.

We first came across Antonio's (Tony's) Caffe some years back at another residents nearby and have always been a fan of his coffee which is specially imported from Italy. Now based for the last year in the fashionable Metquarter, Liverpool this larger establishment consistently serves the most flavoursome coffee along with a variety of food options to complement the palate. Surprisingly the Caffe Novecento is reasonably priced for a place surrounded by a host of fashionable shops and other pricey food outlets. Its decor and comfortable chairs will enable you to take a break and unwind from all that shopping! Worth a visit if you're a coffee connoisseur.

Shame on anybody calling themselves a coffee fan who doesn't frequent this wondrous establishment. Passionate about coffee, like only the Italians can be, don't be fooled by its slightly haphazard position at the top floor of the Met Q - this is truly a hidden gem and worthy of MilanPastries, panninis and pasta to die for, Antonio and the girls deserve your patronage.

We visit this café as often as we can when shopping in the city centre. So much nicer than the homogenised coffee house chains, with a friendly welcome, great coffee served with a smile and a choice of fresh paninis with tasty fillings, toasted sandwiches & appetising pastas. You can also have half-portions which is good for lunchtime. I hope this café continues to do well.

This genuine Italian cafe is a small, independent outlet that can really show any of the 'chain' coffee shops what a real cup of Italian coffee should taste like. The blend is specially imported from Italy, not bitter & always served at the correct temperature......totally individual & a delight! The daily choice of delicious fresh pasta & sandwiches should also not be missed. It really is the best coffee in Liverpool & well deserves more recognition. RME. Southport

We visited as a group of 3 on a busy lunchtime, we were lucky to get a table as it was so busy. It had a great buzz and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional- very tasty and lovely sized portions. I’d definitely love to come back next time I’m in Liverpool.

The one thing about Liverpool City Centre is there are many interesting old pub's and the Cornmarket is one of the oldest and it's one of the best.Located on Old Ropery'the Cornmarket has a fantastic interior with an old world look and feel. The pub dates from the 18th century and is full of character. The interior to this historic pub has many interesting fixture's and lot's of original feature's.There's wood panelling that was taken from a clipper ship that was called the Reina Del Pacifico and excellent seating options. If you enter from Moor street this pub looks completely different as up to the 1960s this was the Bulls Head pub. This pub was taken over by the Cornmarket and has thrived as a pub since then.We have been visiting this pub for many years and it's just as good as it's ever been. We went to here early in the afternoon and it was very busy which is how we like places as the atmosphere is better when pubs are busy. When we visited we had a few glasses of Carling brewery lagers which where first rate and were reasonably priced. Its an excellent old world pub in a fantastic area of the city centre and it's a pub that's well worth going to.(This is my fourth review of the Cornmarket). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-11.30-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. James Street Train Station Bus Stop-10A-10Q-18-26-N1. Train Station. James Street Train Station.

Nice cup of coffee thanks! Greeted by Holly who was chatty and took my order with advice when asked for (type of milk used, how many shots). Not a regular at Starbucks but would return. Holly wished me a happy holiday too! This after the the smoothest transit trough the airport ever. Lots to like today at Liverpool JL airport.
