Staff seemed disinterested and not wanting to be there. Anyone would have thought I’d been putting them out on a limb asking for a coffee. No please or thank you when asking for payment and after I’d thanked the staff member for the coffee. Don’t intend to visit again - lots of choice of coffee places in Reigate so happy to go elsewhere for better service - a smile wouldn’t hurt the staff I’m sure.

Pretty rude staff member seemed to eavesdrop on my friend and I discussing where we’d take our takeaway coffees, barista misunderstood and snapped “yeah I know it’s a takeaway that’s why I’ll put it in a takeaway cup”... we said Yes thanks we know that... then I said to my friend the drink was really cheap because of the discount and he snapped again “well you can pay double if you want”... what? Both times we weren’t even talking to him/complaining... kind of ruined our visit that he was so snappy and rude (Young guy with dark hair in two braids)

Words cannot descirbe how gormless, rude, moody and slow all 3 staff members are in here. I should give 5 stars for absolute novelty factor - pay to be ignored!!!!The pastries are uncooked, squashed and will upset the strongest of stomachs. The coffee's are piping hot and served with zero eye contact, no "hello" no "thank you" just a nod of the head to say "yeah.....what do you want".Choose between Morticia from the Adams family who has zero expression and looks like she has seen a ghost, the military commander who will order you to pay with zero facial expression or the half asleep bloke who just doesn't seem to know why he is there - together they are the dreamy team!

Of the chains I usually prefer Cafe Nero, but the Reigate branch is poor in terms of both service and coffee. The baristas are often slow, unskilled and rude. The space is great, but is not kept clean. In my experience this is not typical of Cafe Nero staff at other branches.

Really dont like to leave a bad review, but just have to. I use Nero regularly as it is convenient, but the service there and coffee is terrible. In particular, they dont seem to have a clue how to warm/froth milk and you end up with half a cup of coffee and a load of froth. It's a coffee shop - the coffee should be good and the service should be right. Shame - neither is rocket science.

This is an odd branch of the popular chain. There seems to often be a line of customers waiting to be served, however the staff seem disinterested and I have never had an acknowledgement despite often waiting at the back of the line. On my latest visit as the line was dealt with the staff disappeared until I found myself waiting behind one other customer who had eat in items! I endeavour up waiting almost as long for his order to be dealt with as I had been cueing. When I mentioned this and asked for my coffee and mentioned I had a train to catch, I received a sullen response and my order banged in the counter. The only aspect wrong with this branch is the customer focus or lack of (the coffee is always excellent).Try Cafe Rouge across the road.

This place is always busy. I see the staff are now a really good crew working there now. They are friendly and respectful and see they work their butts off. Yes it's a bit messy sometimes but what Caffe Nero isn't in the UK! That's part of their reputation (Caffé Nero). Good coffee, sometimes messy. But as a whole this branch is a great one to visit. New manager from what I can make out and some newer faces in the work force. All very pleasant.

Met a friend for coffee I accept it was lunch time so there was a queue, however service was slow the black coffee was only warm and the cream on the other was poorly served, dropped down the cup and was not served with a saucer which it needed. Downstairs was full with small tables close to each other. Upstairs was better but tables not cleared. All disappointing especially with better independent coffee houses near and they don’t make the most of a splendid building.

Almost perfect for working remotely - lots of little tables, plugs, decent wifi etc. Coffee is quite good, cakes etc. are fine. Service varies a bit depending on who's working, but always quite friendly and helpful. Think they are missing a trick by not doing table service - lots of people work upstairs on laptops and would probably buy more drinks/food if someone came round taking orders, but don't want to risk losing their table/having their computer stolen and stay put at the table without eating/drinking anything for a while. Can be a noisy place to work when mums and tots are in, but that's fine - it's theirs too. Piped Jazz can be a little too loud, especially in echo-y upstairs section. Great location in central Reigate, covered smoking area outside, space for bikes/buggies to park, sofas and bookshelves upstairs make for a more relaxing venue than other chain coffee shops in Reigate.

This is the first time I felt I had to write a bad review of a cafe or restaurant but I was very disappointed. At 8.30am on a Saturday morning there was just one Trainee Barista serving, a very pleasant girl but she was under a lot of pressure with a queue forming with no help. It was very unfair to leave someone alone who is not fully trained and because of this made a porridge that was solid and could not be eaten. The restaurant needs a good clean, the walls and paintwork are very dirty and the floors need a good scrub, all very off-putting when you are drinking and eating.

This is easily the 1st or 2nd best coffee shop in Reigate, I visit here frequently as I live in the general area, they provide you with a large number of food and drink that are of a very high standard and for a very low price, there is a second floor with newspapers and books that you can read with your beverage, the staff are very kind and helpful, they also provide nice, in the shade, outdoor seating!

There's something missing here. It's in the old town hall, a lovely building, rescued by the arrangement with Nero and reasonably refurbished. it's inevitably formulaic, which means the food's dire, while the coffee is generally good. Staff turnover seems high and I'd not say customer service and interaction are their strong suit. Everything is wooden, so the noise level is distractingly high, especially upstairs and especially when noisy, uncontrolled children run riot, while mummy converses about the family's latest 4x4. I gave up a long time ago trying to have an adult conversation without screaming to be heard across a table and so avoid the place. For a (relatively) fast cup of good coffee, choose downstairs, if there are no children, and watch Reigatians go about their retail therapy. It's a busy high street and the town hall creates a slight chicane in the one-way high street. This means you have a keen vantage view.

I was not going to review a cafe chain such as this but wanted to make a comment on the staff. Initially we were ignored as the member of staff was talking to the person in front of us who I thought was a customer. However this conversation went on and on and I realised that although the person in front was having coffee they were discussing something in detail which meant that we were kept waiting for longer than was necessary. While we were waiting I helped myself to a muffin and put this on our tray. When we eventually got served the member of staff reprimanded us, quite rudely, on helping ourselves to the muffin. She then went on to slop a lot of the coffee into the saucer. Not the best experience. Nice building but very, very steep stairs. Toilet is upstairs. There is a lift.

Went to lunch here today with my two daughters and grandchildren. The cafe itself is good but the disabled toilet upstairs is dreadful. The cafe has been refurbished but not the toilet. It is dirty and just looks awful. Having to take little ones in it to change them is just not what you want to do. My lunch was pretty tasteless. I had an egg and cress sandwich. Coffee not very pleasant.

I went with a friend at around 2.30pm... probably not the best time to go, as it was packed with young adults lounging around with nowhere else to go. One sofa was occupied by a couple heavy petting... kind of off putting, when you just want to have a catch-up over a coffee with a friend. We had to remove the rubbish piled up on our table, before we sat down. It was very busy, so the priority for the staff was getting those coffees made. Maybe, the morning would be more suitable for our needs in future. I will try it again, as the venue is convenient and over all look pleasant.

Came here Wednesday morning and although starting to get busy the kind waiter carried our lovely hot coffees in one hand above his shoulder up the spiral stairs for us. We were very capable but he had a fab sense of humour and was very jolly and welcoming.Sat upstairs and saw quite a few parents on their own using the lift with children in pushchairs, then noticed the same jolly waiter coming up the spiral stairs brining up the hot drinks/order with a smile for them. How lovely this is his day job, does this all day every day and yet brings fantastic customer service :)

The staff were all welcoming and we had lovely hot chocolates.Noticed that as well as the usual cafe sandwiches, toasties, cakes etc, they also do soup, pasta and rice dishes. There is also seating upstairs ( lift on ground floor). Toilets are down a flight of stairs( quite cramped and could be improved) not sure if any are available upstairs for wheelchair users. Will definitely visit again as it is such a bonus to be able to relax over cafe goodies with your furry friend!

drinks were absolutely phenomenal, staff were lovely, however there were builders screaming and swearing and throwing tools on the floor when we visited. i of course understand that the staff cannot help what other people do but there was no effort to ask them to quiet down or even to just lay off the swearing as there were a number of young children in the cafe and it was incredibly unpleasant. i usually really like this place but im disappointed with my recent visit and id recommend sticking to the costa in redhill town centre if you can.
