Caffe Nero - Golden Hinde in Southwark

I was enjoying the peace and quiet in the upstairs section when they started to play loud music, including rap. This is the third Cafe Nero I've visited recently where the music has been too loud. Anyone who wants to listen to music has their own system these days, and it is just annoying. Starbucks seem to get this and have music on low so it's not intrustive.

Nous avons décidé de tester le caffe nero à l'heure du goûter Erreur !!! Après avoir passé la commande au comptoir, nous nous sommes retournés pour chercher une table libre .. la mission s'est avérée quasi impossible ! Une bonne dizaine de tables n'avaient pas été débarrassées : elles étaient jonchées de plateaux, assiettes, bols, serviettes... Une vision apocalyptique !!! Quand elles ont été débarrassées (nous étions assis depuis près de 10 minutes), elles n'ont pas été nettoyées. Ce manque d'hygiène est inquiétant. Les toilettes n'etaient pas accessibles au public. C'est peut-être mieux ainsi ! Même si vous êtes exténués, puisez dans vos dernières forces pour ne surtout pas vous arrêter.

The first guy was nice, but I was on the toilet for maybe 2min. (Which was gross btw. )Than my jacket was gone, my food was gone. The jacket was luckily in the office, but my food that I had payed for was thrown away. Didn’t even got anything back. Thanks for nothing!

E’ davvero piacevole sorseggiare un caffè con vista sullo skyline dei “buildings”, peccato però che le condizioni del bagno fossero veramente indecenti.

Sat having coffee here right now. Coffee ok and standard range of snacks. However, I just used the toilets and YUK - they are truly the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. They were so filthy with a grey dirty loo brush and the toilet so manky and soiled I thought I’d gone back to the last century. Felt truly physically sick! Filthy filthy filthy - let’s just hope they clean their cups and plates to a better standard. Err huh just awful 🤮

It has an outdoor sitting area, right next to the Golden Hinde, and is much quieter than the Borough Market nearby. Coffee was good and the place is friendly and tidy.

It's right in the middle of the action! It was a cold and rainy day when we popped into this Caffe Nero. We were greated with a big smile and quick service. If you're in need of a quick cup of something warm and a quick bite this is a great place to stop.

Popped in for lunch time break whilst wandering around London. We had toasted sandwiches and tea. Toasted sandwiches were tasty and good enough size for a snack. Tea was ok, always find these coffee shops don’t do great tea. Best of all is the lovely view of the golden hind ship. Unfortunately service was on the slow side.

Great if you're looking round the area (Golden Hinde, Borough Market, the Globe, The Prison Museum etc.). Also, it has a large downstairs and upstairs so while it's busy, it's also spacious enough to hold a lot of people. Coffee here is the best of the chains (how do Starbucks and Costa even describe what they serve as coffee? Sorry, controversial I know) so worth a visit if coffee's a draw for you.

Kaffeespezialitäten hervorragend (Siebträgermaschine). Personal super nett aber hoffnungslos überfordert. Sanitäranlagen so lala 🙄 Stempelkarte nicht vergessen, nach 9 Stempeln gibt's nen Kaffee gratis

I stayed here for around 2 hours on a warm August afternoon. The drinks were ok, however I found the staff clearing the tables tried to hurry us on and were generally impatient. The store was not busy and the two tables outside either side of us remained empty throughout, so it was not like we were inconveniencing anyone - apart from the waitress? It is a Cafe Nero - so it is not a great disappointment. I just will just mean that I try another faceless coffee chain next time.

Great location by the Golden Hinde ship. Enjoy the coffee before or after you visit to the ship. Clean restrooms and friendly service.

First of all I must say that this review relates to one staff member & apologies to the rest who may be amazing. I bought a cup of tea & bottle of water but on the way back to my table the bottle fell & knocked over the tea on to the tray I was carrying. I was covered in boiling hot tea & in pain so ran to the toilets to dry myself & deal with the scalding. unfortunately the hand dryer in the toilet was useless & it took a while for me to get dry. I was surprised to hear loud knocking at the door & found a very rude staff member who said people were waiting & I needed to get out - there was one person waiting. I told him what had happened & that I was scalded but he didn't care, I pointed out there was another toilet but he still insisted I get out. He made no attempt to clear up the accidentally spilt tea or offer me a replacement. So I left in agony & wet clothes. I can't tell you what the drinks are like here as I never got to find out!!! but it's Costa for me from now on!!

Quick service and a variety of drinks always something new to try. Hazelnut latte is great with the cheese toastie

Friendly staff. Efficient service. Good coffee! Would recommend if in the area and you fancy a cuppa.

I stumbled across this place almost tucked away! I had a strawberry milkshake type drink with cream and strawberry sauce which was very nice, if a little indulgent! Very good location close to Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market. The service was very good too.

If visiting Nero here, it is quite a spacious coffee lounge. Plenty of sofas and armchairs at the front of the lounge and a lot of tables towards the counter. Try the winter specials on the hot chocolate - awesome.
