Caffe Nero - Eastbourne in Eastbourne

The tea was excellent. But sadly the cleanliness was very poor. Its such a shame because the staff were very pleasant. As well as the quality of the food being very good.

Good service and friendly staff, the only thing that some tables still have used cups from previous customers without getting cleaned, this attracts flies and we were annoyed with that.

At last, the Eastbourne Café Nero have hired Joe Southgate, who is an excellent manager. He always acknowledges every customer who comes through the front door. At last, someone with marvellous customer care approach and with a great personality to look after every customer. Faz - R

Today we went in to cafe Nero after a long day of shopping. We was greeted by an absolutely lovely lady named Kirsty who made us feel so welcome. She had a huge smile and ensured we had everything we needed. We then sat at a table near the window that had some dirty cups on it from others who had just left. Kirsty instantly came over, cleaned the table and ensured we had everything we needed as she knew we wanted to sit near the window. It’s not often you get people like Kirsty. Thank you so much for your kindness, we need more people like you in the world.

Used to be really good but now quite dirty, most tablets full of uncleared cups and saucers, surly service and only 2 staff members - instead of clearing tables were chatting and messing about with an insect zapper.

Eastbourne Nero has the loveliest atmosphere. Considering they are often short staffed the staff that work there remain friendly and cheerful. In the morning there is a lovely female staff member who never seems flustered even with an impending queue....and the drinks are great x

What sad and a Messy café Nero in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Just dropped in to the Café Nero to have a quick coffee and a piece of cake. It was around 4.00pm on Friday 27.10.2023. Café Nero looked like a recycling centre. The place was in a such a disgusting mess. All the cups, sauces, glasses, plates as well as trays were around the tables, some left on chairs too. Never in my life seen a such awful café anywhere in the world. I have to clear the cups and saucers myself from a table to sit, I cleaned the table myself by using toilet tissues. I am sure they may have been busy while ago, however, I was there for 40-45 minutes. For my amazement the young lady and the guy working there busy talking to each other. They were not interested about clearing the tables and they were busy in a conversation for a long time instead of keeping the place nice, tidy and clean. I wonder where they find this type of calibre of staff to work at the Café Nero? It is so sad they have run down the business; they use have an excellent team. To prove my comments attaching the I have taken to prove the point. Let’s hope the owners will take notice about the shambles they seem to create at this lovely place. God Help us all!!!! Roger

We are a regular customer at the Eastbourne Café Nero. At last, [on Friday 25 Aug 2023] we were happy to be served by 2 extremely pleasant baristas, namely they are Imogen and Dori I must say, they were very professional, unlike the others for the first time greeted saying good afternoon as well as said thank you at the point of service. Let’s hope things will get better by the day at the Café Nero in Eastbourne. F & J

It could be lovely place, if you are lucky to be greated good afternoon, or smiled at you, Person in charge has no experience in hospitality. It's warm day, AC is on full, don't understand the energy costs elements.

My Husband and I was staying in Eastbourne and went into the Caffe Nero for a coffee and snack. The building was fine and the food very nice. BUT I do not know where they got the staff from. There were two barista's one serving and the other one was bang crashing the crockery every thing in sight. The tables were full of dirty crockery etc. The closing time was 6pm. we went in there at 4.55pm and the toilets were being cleaned and cones shutting them off. The floors around the tables were being noisily swept and mopped and once again coned off. There was a queue and I personally saw 5 people walk out as they were so very slow serving. When we left we said Thank You (I really don't know what for) and we did not even get a grunt. Guess what from then on we went across the road to Costas where we received a very warm welcome.

Last few days during the Easter period until yesterday 12th April with the new staff at the Eastbourne café was a delight to be there, there were smiling faces and polite to everyone. I would vote Darcey as No 1 Barista at the Café Nero, Eastbourne. She is a gem of a star with good manners and customer approach. Also, for a student she is a fast server with a professional approach at the counter. Understand Darcey mainly work during the weekends and bank holiday days only as she is full-time at the University. [NOTE: Gold Medals only for the new staff]

i am a visually impaired guide dog user , my experience was poor and offensive towards me as a disabled person , I visited this coffee shop on the morning of Monday 27th February 2023 at about 9.30am the main issue was the female member of staff who ignored me as a customer and was more concerned in talking business with her male colleague than attending to me as a customer , when she spoke to me it was Curt, Brusque and did not help to understand my disability , I had to be honest and straight down the line explaining about her manner, I told her she was brusque and was more concerned with conversing with her male colleague [who frankly was more professional] I also explained to her customers should come first, and you should talk business after serving customers , I also explained to her , as I was visually impaired with a guide dog , you did not even recognise this fact, and did not take this into account , because of her verbal manner to quick and off hand , and because of my disability I need to have things explained slowly but with this attitude i refuse point blank to use caffe nero in Eastbourne 1/10

Not great in terms of cleanliness.. Went in on a quiet day, hardly anyone there and there were lodes of mugs/plates left behind on all the tables, and even on the empty tables it was just full of crumbs, and also crumby chairs. It's not a nice play to come into and definitely turns people like me away. I'm not sure I want to come back if the staff clearly don't care about keeping the cafe presentable.

True opinion by a once loyal customer, just waste of time coming into town now. No reply from Nero's when we contact them. Friends were told they was not being served, been going in for years. Couple of staff okay rest terrible, coffee is Bitter most times, most cannot do a proper drink, Latte and cappuccino, come up the same and warm. Needs a good shake up in this store. CHICHESTER store very nice and friendly.

Came in today after being out for my partners birthday. Was met by a very smiley lady called macey (usually works in the Brighton branch) she is a right asset to the team and was lovely to be greeted by! Thank you for putting a smile on our faces!

Five of us went to Caffe Nero for coffee and a snack. Service was pleasant and fast. Coffee and the food were good.

After shopping wanted to have an early lunch. It was busy inside so sat outside where they have 3 tables and was pleasant on a mild December day! Coffee and tea good quality and enjoyed the rolls of ham and mozzarella.

We use Caffe Nero regularly and have enjoyed coffee at branches right across the UK. We had a lovely coffee and cake here and love the service. The coffee is always a delight!

I would like to make a comment about your server at the Café Nero, Terminus Road, Eastbourne BN21 3AN He is Stuart Godwin is an asset to your branch, he is very much customer focused, he is always good with anyone entering the café door. Stuart always makes time to create a conversation, whether he is busy or not. Stuart displays an excellent customer focus approach; we are very impressed with his customer care approach. I would say! Stuart can teach a one or two simple customer care skills to your manager.We see your manager wonder around the café, but he lacks customer care skills and no body language. it would great, if the Café Nero ownership decide to promote Stuart as the Manager, NOT as an assistant manager.By the other great server is Sabo, I think that’s his first name, a lovely Italian guy with a smile too.

Visited today at 12. 30, for coffee, felt unsafe due to the manager and assistant, nor wearing masks, coughing while serving food, I observed 8 people entering the cafe no one was asked to sign in on the app, 4 where not weating masks, no one asked them to wear masks totally unacceptable shame on you both, we're all supossed to be doing are it.Honest Kelvin

Este establecimiento es típico de la cadena Cafe Nero, por lo que generalmente sabes lo que obtienes cuando entras por las puertas.El personal en la ocasión que llamé fue muy amable y eficiente. El café era muy potable, y al ser un lugar amigable con los perros, la visita fue agradable.

A veces vengo aquí con mi familia cuando estoy en la ciudad. Tiene un personal muy amable y definitivamente volvería a este Caffe nuevamente. Las mesas están limpias y las bebidas y la comida son decentes por el precio. Lo único que diría es una muy mala disposición de los asientos.

Cada vez que visitamos Eastbourne, llamamos aquí para tomar un café antes de hacer cualquier otra cosa.Por lo general, está bien, pero hoy no estaba ocupado, pero era muy ruidoso. Good service although was not given a tray as I had a ‘reusable’ cup. Poor seating arrangements which led to a lot of unusable seating in inaccessible areas. Coffee/hot chocolate good as always.

There was quite a line up waiting to order at 10.30 on a Thursday morning but it moved quite quickly. The seating area was also busy with people having to share tables. The coffee was good, as I have come to expect from Caffe Nero.

Went in last week. It was a very hot day and the place was like an oven. Was told the air-con has been broken since March! Placed my order, got my debit card out and was told the card machine was broken!

Normalmente un gran servicio en Caffe Nero Eastbourne, pero hoy mi esposa dijo que su café con leche era un poco amargo para ella, así que volví al mostrador y me pidió una gota de crema / leche, la chica dijo que no, la esposa dijo que estoy dispuesto a pagar, chica dijo que tendrá que comprar otro café. Increíble satisfacción del cliente, supongo que ha tomado mi dinero y eso es todo lo que importa, no si volveré algún día.

El lugar no se lleno de gente y puede conseguir personal abrumado. Esto es evidente, muy a menudo, cuando no tienen tiempo para limpiar las mesas. Busy but staff worked quickly the coffee machine was purged and wiped after every usage staff were excellent and seem to know many of the regulars and encouraged them. This I assume will lead to repeat custom.

Of all the franchises Caffe Nero is my fave! It is formalised for comfort and relaxation. The staff are well trained, friendly and efficient! I can recommend the blueberry muffins.

Me visita Nero en una base regular y el personal son encantadores. Amable, eficiente y servicial. Café siempre es buena y la comida está bien hecha y sabrosa.

It is the same as all coffee shops but the coffee here is great and the service very friendly. Nice, comfortable place to sit and relax with friends or alone.

Whilst on a shopping trip to Eastbourne my wife and I called in here for a relaxing coffee. We both chose an Americano with hot milk. The coffees were lovely, but the milk jug was not. It was chipped and cracked, which can't have been very hygienic. I did tell Cafe Nero, but have not had a reply.We will still visit there, but pay more attention to the crockery next time!

Myself and my uncle were regular customers of this particular store, up until recently. The staff are friendly to your face, and when they eventually serve you they will have a small conversation with you, but only to delay making your coffee for a little while (it's never because they're interested in what you did over the weekend). The coffee is over priced and is average coffee, nothing special. On some days, it's even served hot. But most of the time it isn't. So if you like Luke warm coffee and snobs then this is the place for you.

Lieu très sympathique et accueillant sauf quand il y a trop de monde, ca devient bruyant. J'y suis allée plusieurs fois. Les chocolats chauds sont très bons ainsi que celui à la noisette. Les pâtisseries aussi. Le bémol, c'est l'expresso, trop court pour le prix et surtout très fort, obligée de mettre beaucoup de sucre (après chacun ses goûts).

I have been a loyal customer at Cafe Nero's branches. Here in Eastbourne, everything is perfect. Staff are very friendly and polite. Food always good, specially my espresso coffee. It's always an excuse to have a break for a coffee, it's here. :)

Cappucino Coffee served here has a very smooth taste. There is a good selection of snacks, and cakes. Comfy armchair seating just inside the door, either side of large windows allows for people watching whilst supping your choice of drink.

I feel like the people giving negative reviews are going to a different Neros to me. Yes it gets very busy yes it looks a bit tired and yes they beed more space but apart from that the coffee quality is great and the staff are lovely. Once you've been there a few times they learn your name and remember what you drink and are always really welcoming. They cope admirably with the queues as well. I've got to admit I've become quite a coffee snob and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Caffe Nero has a good image and high standards but venture into this branch in Eastbourne and you will want to make a quick exit. It feels like a dentists waiting room because the ambience is dreadful. The staff are NOT at fault..it's the design but more effort could go into making this a much better experience.

Called in for a sit down and coffee about 3.50 today (23rd sept).I like Americano with hot milk on the side ..sometimes erudite staff use a paper cup for the milk to ensure there is enough.sometimes staff fill a dolls play set type jug and we have to return for more milk several times.Today I went back for some more milk and politely asked the (miserable looking?) guy for another hot milk.As i lifted the jug i could tell it wasnt hot, or the jug would have felt it too.I asked him could he make it hot please.answer "IT IS HOT" i put my finger in to show him it was cold. reply"WELL it must be warm".I replied i wasnt being hard work but i would like it hot...and it wasnt even warm.Dumped on the counter and away i went.Not had this sort of service ever in a Nero.(hope i got the right Nero, this was near the arndale in the centre)

Meet a friend for coffee here, staff friendly and efficient. Cafe seemed busy tables available clean and sitting comfortable. Free wifi if you want internet access. We ordered coffee's and sandwiches ( a little over priced for what they are) however very tasty and hot.

Okay service was normal my friend had a coffee and I had a hot chocolate Milano, this was silky smooth(not thick as stated). The staff prepared the drinks at reasonable speed quicker than Costa in Eastbourne. The seating area was clean and tidy, the atmosphere was good and staff seemed busy clearing and cleaning tables. Coffee and hot chocolate was ok , what you would expect from a coffee shop.

It was ok - service a tad slow and seating area was untidy - the staff were not very helpful - selection not that great either
