Caffe Nero in South Kesteven

We visited at around 230pm Sat Aug 19th and ordered 3 cake slices, 2 hot chocolates and a cappucino. While the drinks were tasty the service was extremely slow to the point the hot chocolates were lukewarm, not hot. Too long a queue to join to ask if they could do 2 more as the other drink, cappucino, would then have been cold. Lots of tables uncleared and the ones that were cleared were not wiped down well. The plush lesther seats were stained and lots of dust on the wooden rail trims. Then after all of that, the toilet, oh my word, it was just disgusting. It clearly had not been cleaned all day ( do staff even check it?!), it absolutely stank, pee on the floor and not just recent either, there were dried stains of pee too. Bits of toilet tissue over floor and the sink stained and dirty. If we had used the toilet first before ordering our drinks, we would not have stayed to order anything. It is only one toilet to be shared by all and that is fine, but with so many people using it, the staff have GOT to step up amd clean in there regularly. Manager of this store is clearly not keeping an eye on it all. Save your money and drink elsewhere.

Ordered coffee and a biscuit each both of which were good. However we surrounded by uncleared tables there were thick layers of dust on the rails. Certainly not a place to relax and enjoy. The staff consisted of a young trainee working hard producing coffee and a manager who floated about doing very little. I peeked over the screen the work area was filthy and the manager obviously exhausted by her trials was relaxed on a table enjoying coffee and a snack. Disgraceful we shall not return

Was out shopping with our little dog on a cold day and Nero was the perfect spot to stop and have a drink. Typical Nero menu and we like that we can use our 25% code with Compare the Meerkat. Not loads of seating, but people come and go quickly so you are likely to find a seat. Only one toilet, but it was clean.

Had to find a table myself, clear the table myself, wipe the table myself. Wait in slow queue, order and collect the drinks myself. Then they wouldn't accept cash. Why do we let them get away with such shabby service. Come to think about it WHAT SERVICE?

Generally our experience was pretty positive. Quality coffee. Sometimes you have to wait for a seat.

There was a good head on my latte and the coffee is an acquired taste which improves with drinking. Slightly bitter for my palate. Served with the minimum of delay.

Called for a coffee but disappointed with the general appearance and cleanliness - disappointed as of course the coffee is good. Should not have soiled dirty chairs and floor and toilets need attention

As it was a fine day we sat at the tables outside on the street, although on a cooler day we would choose to use the comfy seats in the Cafe service was quick and up to the usual Nero quality

It's a chain coffee shop, but I prefer Nero to Costa and Starbucks. Staff are friendly, drinks are very nice. The sandwich choice is not very good though, and they seem to sell out early, so that's the only criticism.

We were passing through the town and stopped off for a quick something to eat and drink. Local pubs seem expensive and not everywhere welcomes dogs. We were pleased to find this cafe did let us in with our two small dogs. We had a pastry and coffee. There’s chilled water to drink too - just help yourself - and free Wi-fi.

Very disappointing with the actual place as it looks very tired and sorry to say, the tables, chairs and flooring was very dirty - so have decided to not visit anymore which is shame as the coffee served is very good and is reasonably priced

My Daughter loves this coffee shop as she adores the hot chocolate which is far nicer than another major brand. As soon as you arrive you are always served by some lovely staff who are always extremely cheerful. The toilets are a bit grotty and there is only one for everybody but happy to put up with this for wonderful customer service.

Really shocked by the state of the toilet here, honestly didn’t look like it had been cleaned for weeks. It was horrendous and everything including the loo, sink, drier and baby change were filthy. I am shocked. There were also loads of little flies everywhere in the cafe, they looked similar to fruit flies, not sure why there were so many/any! Everyone was swotting them away, they were flying around everywhere and landing on everything. Tables cluttered with cups and plates. I wouldn’t choose to return again.

Stamford has changed recrntly. Joules, SpaceNK, Jack Wills etc - says there is money around! We find Cafe Nero is the best for coffee in the High Street. Much better than Starbucks or Costa. The Stamford Branch has good staff and prompt service. It is a medium sized Cafe Nero and being in the High St gets very busy. There is outside seating too in the pedestrianised High St. Stamford is a tourist destination nowadays with loads of eateries and has gone upmarket with its shopping offer.

This Nero in Stamford High Street is clean and comfy. Very busy on a Thursday lunchtime. As you can imagine the coffee is consistently good, unlike taking pot luck at an independent. You can get toasties and panninis. Comfy chairs are available to watch the world go by.

Caffe Nero at it's best. Very friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located in the high street. Caffe Nero have a great app to collect points and pay for your drinks. Everything made easy for you.

You know what you are getting when you visit Nero's great coffee and great cake, its a shame some of the independents don't stock such great cakes too.

Sunday 22nd April 2018 approximately 3.0 p.m. Went into Stamford Café Nero . Tea and coffee okay. We both thought that the toilet was disgusting - only one toilet for both male and female. Just walk in - no double door to separate from people eating/serving food. Thought that two doors was a requirement. Hoped that serving staff did not use that facility as well as customers. Wet paper all over the floor - unhygienic appearance. Obviously not been checked out all day. Husband had difficulty with the door handle/lock. A child walked in whilst he was washing his hands - could have been worse!

I pop in here about 3 times a week for a takeout latte and am always struck but how friendly the staff are and how great their banter with each other is. I’ve also heard them chat away with elderly customers using their names and making them feel extra welcome. Doesn’t feel like a chain. Well done!

Just popped in this afternoon and was greeted by a very chirpy barista called Anthony. It's so nice to see an employee with an individual charisma and someone who radiates positive and happy vibes on this rainy Monday afternoon. Thanks to Anthony for brightening up my day and for making me a delicious white chocolate mocha!

They have Great staff, great coffee, great prices . Does its job nicely , I much prefer this independent coffee shop to any of the chains :)

Terribly rude staff. I was shouted at with a very loud voice from a member of staff for closing the coffee shop door??? I wouldn't return to another Nero again.

Caffe Nero does sell the best coffee but this then means that there is always a queue in this small shop and I waited an age to be served. But worth it! Tried the new cortado - what a treat!

Most places were closed when we arrived in the town centre but Caffe Nero was still open. We had a pleasant hour here with coffee and cake reading the paper in decent surroundings. Nice staff too.

Comida maravillosa, y postres. El café era excepcional. Y en la calle donde la gente viendo era absolutamente maravilloso.

Estoy muy contrariado por el capuchino tenía en Caffè Nero esta mañana. Barista debe tener pasión por hacer café o capuchino o lo que sea. Personal no feliz en todo y no tengo palabras. sobre Capuchino No era en absoluto y espuma caliente leche. Sólo Yo no recomendaría este lugar a todos.

Buena ubicación céntrica y un ambiente tranquilo y un buen café. Hay mucha variedad de opciones de comida y servicio del personal

El personal en este café es muy eficiente y también muy amable.

Some readers may have seen my review about Javawocky in Stamford at the start of January, so in view of this I decided to try Cafe Nero for the first time. Nice interior with comfy chairs in places.Very impressed with the Americano coffee which I was able to have with cream. The staff were polite; I will visit again.

We called in when in Stamford as we thought we could rely on Cafe Nero. No longer will we be so sure! This is the worst Cafe Nero I have been in. Airport ones are far superior despite their high through put. This one was unbelievably grubby, three customers had their dogs with them and the toilet was unhygienic. The waitress who served us had long hair some of which was tied back. The rest hung loosely around her face and was frequently brushed aside while serving food. When I approached her for a knife and fork after we were served, she handed them to me with the same hand that was holding used paper napkins and other detritus from the the table she had just been clearing. The only saving grace was the coffee was good. Will not return and apply caution when entering other Cafe Neros.

Was just looking for a place with a quick bite to eat and a drink, amazing coffee and some lovely sandwiches.

Called in mid afternoon and found available tables full of dirty cups and table tops in need of a good clean. The service and coffee were good however, on visiting the toilet it too was in need of cleaning and there was no soap in the dispenser. The whole place just looked tired.

Very friendly cafe. Excellent atmosphere and great coffee. Struggled to find seating as it was that busy!

Visited here with friends.... who had dogs. I did not realise that some cafes allowed dogs inside... this one does! really nice tea and coffee and super efficient staff. Nice clean place. Highly recommended.

Caffe nero makes nice coffee but this one is ok but if you are a local you are fine but if your new people seem to keep looking at you because your not local which is not very nice I am sorry Caffe Nero's..

Go here every week, staff are always friendly, comfy chairs and nice drink and food selections! Good reward scheme too!

Popped in for a coffee and chat and have been here before. Warm, cosy atmosphere, always busy and bustling. Good coffee and a great cappuccino cake!Wanted to mention the service from the two baristas today - friendly, efficient, calm but so, so welcoming. Everyone had a friendly chat with them and they took your order as soon as you came in so everything was ordered, calm and ran so smoothly.Just brilliant - great work everyone! Thank you!!

First visit here and was impressed.Loved, loved, loved the cozy chairs, not just one but enough for everyone around the shop.I read that "Every Nero should always feel warm and inviting and make people feel comfortable" & I think the Stamford cafe definitely did that. friendly service & relaxing atmosphere.I actually preferred this cafe to Costa, also in the High street, which I've been to a few times & found a tad grubby and not so much relaxed seating & far busier.Also loved the lemon tart the & pannatonni!

the flat white is quite small here and can be rather strong - smaller and stronger than Costa. The staff are ok. the cafe has a loyalty card. The staff can seem quite slow at times .

i went to caffe nero today for lunch but there was only a couple of sandwhichs left, this was a dissapointment. however i had one of the muffins which was very nice. also i had to clear my own table.

Staff excellent, always helpful and even remember what drinks you want when you go back next time. Better than most Nero's

This is our local "go to" coffee shop. Friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful pastries early in the morning, and as an earlier reviewer says, right in the middle of the town.Once you have visited more than twice, the staff seem to be able to remember your regular order and usually strike up a conversation with you. My Senior Management prefers Costa Coffee as she says that Nero's can be bitter, but I think this is a "Guy/Gal" thing personally. Just ask for one shot.The best thing about the staff is that when you ask for extra hot, they understand this, and are willing to take their time to get your drink extra hot - at last! Other coffee outlets take note - there is nothing worse than lukewarm mocha or hot chocolate.Free wifi, comfy seats, ease of access and good vibe make this our regular coffee shop.

Went for a warming cup of coffee but was surprised to see that Neros was hosting the local dog show.I love dogs as much as the next person but a wet dog smell in a food and drink establishment is not on.

Caffe Nero is a warm and friendly place to catch up with friends while drinking the superb coffee or in the summer their ever increasing range of iced drinks. The staff are beyond helpful and always take the time to get to know their customers. An all round friendly place from when you open the door to when you leave. The best loyalty card scheme by far too.

Just a normal coffee shop. Nothing special. Coffee like any other Nero, a bit bitter and muddy.Well-known locally more for the planning dispute over putting tables out on the public street, than for the goods.Incidentally, ignore tripadvisor's map. It really is in the pedestrian precinct in Stamford, not in the village of Carlby.
