Caffè Nero in Sheffield

This particular Cafe Nero in M / Hall has deteriorated over the last few times we have visited, dirty tables full of used crockery,people just moving to another table so they can sit down,the staff eventually clear the tables after being asked ,but for some reason don,t wipe them down leaving food/stains, the store itself looks scruffy,ripped seating,stained walls ,I could go on ! Coffee & food was good, but comfort & cleanliness should also be part of the experience too so unfortunately I will be going elsewhere.

It was a lovely good time to spend at CaffeNero

Nero Sheffield Meadowhall - the waitress was extremely impolite. I had to remove the dishes and cups from the table and after asking material to clean the table, which was covered with liquids and food, she was extremely unpleasant. Nero definitely needs to select and train the staff appropriately.

Nothing to complain about as I sit in here writing this review. The music is pleasant. It’s not overly noisy. The staff are buzzing around keeping things in order. The festive drink is tasty (albeit sticky) and big and came with vegan cream if desired - wow! There was water for extra hydration which I took advantage of gratefully having left my bottle in my wheels! The biggest downsize was the wait to be served I would say! Not ideal but not the longest of waits so am happy overall. Addition: I notice this bit of wall needs cleaning/painting.

Male staff is extremely rude acts as if he doesnt want to be there get another job made me walk out because i was waiting for soo long no one was infront off me for 4 minutes straight did not look back at me once

The place is beautiful and quiet, the coffee tastes delicious and the service is fast

some used trays on the tables. however, excellent coffee and friendly staff. They could just do with another caffe nero at the other end of the mall too.

Ran out of oat milk, so wasn't able to purchase my drink. Refused to serve my mum in a proper cup because they were closing in 40 mins. She hates drinking from cardboard especially after paying £4 for a coffee. The staff were completely inflexible Despite me pleading with them to serve it in a proper cup for her, the staff refused. Ruined our experience. Staff were rude and inflexible.

Friendly staff, always served quickly, food and drink always good. Stayed in today with a flat white and some kind of chocolate pie which was too nice. Enjoyed the coffee as usual or I wouldn't return for more. Plenty of seats, all clean and tidy, no cups or plates left around, good stuff.

Extremely rude behaviour by the staff despite confirming that we would be staying in, he prepared the coffee in a blue paper cup, when requested for the coffee to be made in a glass cup, he literally FLIPPED the coffee (with cream) from one cup to another.Obviously refused the coffee. Just terrible, terrible customer service!

Came here to pass sometime ended up playing 3 games over chess and the latte and brownies were spot on nice disabled toilet too

What a dump, seating area dirty, tables not cleaned and the toilet was a terrible mess. Will not go again. Coffee was standard cakes not nice, sandwich just edible.

The customer service skills of the lady that served me was practically non existent. She took my order, pulled out her phone and stood on WhatsApp and was taking a photo of the coffee bar after having a disagreement with a coworker about how it should look. The other co worker didn’t start serving even though they had a line out of the door and people starting to leave. We came in at 6:30 and was told we had to use paper cups because of the time when the centre closes at 9? Not the overall experience you expect… the standards of Nero are definitely higher in the city centre.

Staff are hard work and miserable, they look down their noses at you. The cakes are decent and coffee is alright. The tables are very rarely tidied and wiped down. The only reason I come here is because of the 3 rewards voucher to get a coffee for a quid

Visited today and staff were super friendly. Very fast and on it with the job. Only issue I had was syrup wasn’t added to my drink but I didn’t realise till later and as I got takeaway I couldn’t request it to be added. Other than that the service was 10/10

We tried few times ,,, sweet it’s so expensive… all tables for few times is dirty and we clean my self

Horrible staff very rude dosnt know how to treat people with respect

This was the second time I was turned away, although I got there 10 minutes before closing time. Customers were literally still sitting in, and it was the same guy both times the one with dark curly hair and glasses. Hands-down the worst Nero in Sheffield.

Drink was spot on ad always. However it would of been nice to have actual mugs when sitting in not paper cups as they had "ran out" of mugs even tho it was quiet in store. I think because it was an hour before they was due to shut they just didn't want to do the washing up lol.

There's a lot of places you can go for a coffee in Meadowhall, but if you can, head to Cafe Nero. Great coffee, great staff. Its rather popular so do make sure a seat is available before you order (assuming you're not having a take out).

Understaffed as usual, so many frustrated faces and people walking in then straight out, very strange business model

Drinks are good but it's a very busy store, clearly understaffed. Furnishings are worn and the staff don't clean the tables very well, Often run out of cups and resort to using takeaway ones, which isn't what you'd expect when paying their prices. If you don't have discount offers I'd go elsewhere.

Had a coffee today and accidentally spilled it. The bloke on till couldn't care less just said "mops over there" pointing wildly. Are you talking to me? Am I to clean this? Rubbish customer service. Thankfully BROOKE is a legend who came and helped clean up and made me a new coffee and we shared how our days were going. Legend!

Clean, friendly, surprisingly quiet fir a Friday 1 week before Christmas

Really nice stop off for a rest bight, if you can get a seat. Staff are friendly and the coffee is as expected of a great coffee house.

Good coffee and the cakes were so so so tempting. I resisted. How, I don't know. Probably the price which seemed a bit high to be honest.

Although everybody else I was with enjoyed their drinks I had a chai latte but it was disappointing, no real taste ronit and the flavours it had was very weak.

Cafe Nero serves nice coffee and the cakes are also tasty. A must try. Visited on 8th Nov 23 for the festive drink photo attached. Unfortunately, after visiting different branches in different cities I'd say it's a hit and miss with everything whether it's the presentation or the overall experience.

Lovely place for a refreshing drink. I had the best latte for a good while. The young ladies serving us were really pleasant. We went back later for a bite to eat.

Lovely staff and really lovely drinks too. The gentleman on shift this evening was around 5.7" inches and has short, dark hair and a shaved face. He was really nice as usual, I wish I knew his name. He made me a lovely drink. Thank you.

Nice coffee house next to Primark in Meadowhall....

Bit small but then i realized theres seat outside to the side. Drinks where lovely. Staff served us well but someone else ordered food and they left it on counter for a while going cold. Then they asked customer to fetch it. Why couldn't they just take it across when it was ready not that much work lol. Been to better cafe nero s.

Coffee ok, small latte very small compared to Costa, and with a little too much froth. Service is usually pretty good, might struggle for a seat at weekends.

Nice to sit outside on comfy seats, drinking coffee, snacking, chatting, taking in the ambience and refreshing the batteries.

Would be nice to offer fruit for those people who can't have what they offer. Plesent service and very quick.

Worst place 5o chill in the whole city

Coffee was okay, kind of bland, tasted a bit burnt, machine is too hot or the coffee is getting ground too fine. Used two shots that were sitting on the machine since I walked in the cafe. They don't clean the portafilter heads properly betweens shots meaning the coffee is probably not being extracted evenly with clumps of old coffee stuck in it each time. Staff friendly though.

This was the perfect coffee snack stop, just when we needed it!

Food and coffee are excellent, service however is below par. The barista had to ask 3 times what I'd ordered and they weren't very friendly in their tone or manner.

A quality establishment serving good coffee

Lovely coffee but the place is absolutely filthy, if I had visited the loo before ordering I would have walked out! Bits of food and crumbs all in the creases of the seats. The seats are sticky. The toilet pipes at the side of the loo are an inch thick in dust and covered in " various" hairs! The place looked as you'd expect at the end of a busy day, only we arrived at 10am when they first opened.

Nice place to stop and grab a coffee or hot chocolate, but they're unbelievably slow with serving.

Friendly and quick service. Ample seating on this occasion. Only slight issue I have with this one is the food never seems hot enough compared to most others.

Meadowhall branch. Not sure who's got the cleaning contract. No soap and filthy in the toilets.

Very nice staff, but drinks are usually served in takeaway cups as "they don't have enough", not enough seats by half so you're lucky to be able to sit down, also their prep area is filthy. Only go because we get regular discounts.

I'm so sorry for having to write a negative review, and please note it's only based on the cleanliness of the place. There were only 2 or 3 empty tables, but all were filled (and I mean filled - it looked like other people had had to put dirty pots on it from their own table too before they could sit down). We sat at a low table with couch style seating, and the cushions and seat pads were absolutely filthy; underneath the seats and table was full of food a d rubbish. However, service/drink was good, but you could tell that they are seriously understaffed. The grubbiness of the seating areas though was appalling.

I honestly don't know why I bother coming here. I have a coffee stamp collector card that I was really close to getting a free cup of coffee for, and on one occasion I'd forgotten it, so they gave me a new one with two stamps on. The next occasion I came back with the two cards, told them what had happened and asked for my free coffee. The baristas looked at me blankly and said I couldn't use two cards together. It honestly wouldn'tve taken two seconds for them to just transfer those two stamps onto the card. It's not like it's their business and I was cheating them out of money! There are plenty of other cafes, chain or otherwise that would've done that. Won't be going again anywhere near as often as I have, not worth the free coffee.

I love Nero but this one more than the others for one little reason. The woman who always remembers my order. I absolutely adore her! Even though I hadn't been in for a couple of months, when I turned up the other day her first words were, "your usual?". It made me glow. I wish I had the courage to ask her name. She always makes me day whenever she serves me, and BOY does she make good coffee. - coconut milk, extra shot :)

Its busy and very small , so best food here wont be so much enjoyable

Used to have a lovely oat latte, but it is not nice at all. Went today, had to leave the latte as it was way to strong. The latte was just dumped in the cup. Won't be back

Nice place for break, bite to eat, sit inside shop or outside in small area. Very pleasant. 👌😊

On my visit, the staff didnt seem to want to be there. Not one smiled, and they actually looked miserable. They were more interested in 'closing down', tables on chairs, restocking, etc (at 6pm when its open until 9pm) than giving any form of customer service. I wasn't looked at once in my 2 visits to the counter. I have the meerkat app which entitles me to 25% off hot drinks and pastries. I was informed on my second visit that the system had froze, and that if it didn't accept my meerkat app 1 more time there was nothing she would do! Quite frankly that's not my problem, my app works, her till didn't. Why not apologise for the inconvenience, and suggest if it didn't work, I could pay in a few moments when it unfroze. I visit here once a month with my mum for our dinner, and we come for the evening (plus numerous times in the month with my husband and 2 children). There's one girl that works there that by far has the best customer service skills, but we rarely get her on shift. I think this visit will have been our last. We will go elsewhere. It may not be much to Nero's, but we spend over £30 there on just one visit. I'd rather spend it where we actually feel welcome. Very disappointed.
