Caffe Nero in Rutland

We were pleasantly surprised to find Caffe Nero so far from home - especially as we wanted a quick bite to eat. We love the relaxed settings of armchairs and coffee tables. Gets our vote every time!

Relaxing vibe, very friendly staff and coffee of normal good standard from Nero. However, over 5 times in 2 months the staff have tried to charge me the "drink in" price for coffee despite asking if I'm drinking in or not. Too obvious to be anything other than a deliberate policy. There are also always people who bring their dogs in and sit so that you have to lean across them and their dogs to get to the sugar and stirrers. Definitely not an atmosphere to welcome new customers. Regulars very welcome though.

Coffee and panini’s are standard fare and the same as all Cafe Nero’s. The staff are friendly and polite but the premises is tired and needs sprucing up.

Friendly staff and lots of seating. Dogs are welcome too. Had a lovely mocha and my son enjoyed his hot chocolate!

While I love the coffee in Nero, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired tables are dirty floor needs a good wash,. Needs a good clean and a refurb.

One of the most dirty and run down cafes I've been to. There are coffee stains everywhere on the floor and the walls! The seats look revolting and dilapidated. Some very questionable staining. There are cobwebs hanging in every single corner. The tables don't look like they've been cleaned properly. Why is nobody cleaning the area customers sit in. You charge extra to sit in ruddy and a run down premise. It's not very inviting and looks incredibly grotty. Also the front door is broken so you had to use the fire exit. It need TLC urgently.

I wouldnt even give it a 1 star. The place was disgusting, tables, chairs dead bees on window sill, coffee granules spillt on sides of counter. Toilets well, will just leave it there.

Staff were very friendly even though they were very busy on a Saturday morning. Coffee was great . Lovely old shop.

Go there every week with the grandchildren. We all love the place.

I visit regularly and like it because the coffee is good, far better than Costa, and they allow dogs. Staff are friendly too. Food is a little average, but that’s par for the course in chains like this, so I wouldn’t expect too much. Cake selection isn’t the best for my taste, too many chocolate variations.

Paige (one of the workers) is probably one of the rudest people I've ever come across in my life. The other staff are all lovely but she is hideous and I have seen her being nasty to several other customers before. I haven't wanted to return as she makes the experience so unbearable and unpleasant.

Waited outside for cafe to open at 7:30 with perhaps one of the staff. Colleague arrives at 7:40 to open up - started to walk in - “sorry you can’t come in yet - it will take 30mins to get ready” - “well why didn’t you tell me …🤨” - was looking forward to a good coffee - not to be !

We visited this morning with our two dachshunds, I went to order and my husband had the dogs , we sat near to the till , our young dachshund was a little anxious and did whimper as he was separated from myself but service was prompt, unfortunately the unkind remarks of Barista and even to a costumer who was comforting our dog which was probably a minute , he also stated , ‘ how would she deal with it if it was a child !’ We decided to have take out coffees and leave , a dog friendly cafe , pity member of staff wasn’t !! The two stars was for the coffee and the young barista that served me . Disappointing :(

Yes it was still a good cappuccino, but I'm afraid the place was a lot down, a good clean up required (maybe refurbishment) it felt unkempt, tables not cleared etc. I appreciate staff shortages are common.

Bless em. Run off their feet..love the coffee, but the place looks positively messy and downright unappealing sometimes. I do not blame the staff. They do not stop..

My favorite place for an arly coffee, great front siting facing outside. Love the classical playlist as well as the double espresso in a large cup.

Clearly man who served me was having a bad morning. Won’t be visiting again. Quite unpleasant and unecessary.

Trainee barista who served us was very speedy and friendly. Decently busy which would account for the lacking of baked goods by the afternoon. The cafe is fairly warrenous, being narrow and long which makes some of the seating a little bit awkward but it still works. Dogs seem welcome at this location so keep that in mind.

I like dogs, but 4 in one cafe is excessive by anyone's standards, probably not an ideal place to bring children or relax because of this. A clean and tidy place otherwise with nice coffee and good service.

We just popped in for a coffee and a cake, the coffee was very good and the pastries delightful. The staff were really friendly ( I'm struggling to work the NHS covid app). It was a very pleasant relaxing atmosphere, and very enjoyable.

Coffee great, staff member forceful and asking me to download a track and trace app which is not a mandatory requirement.

Cafe Nero is always our choice for coffee, and we have used this branch several times before. As ever, service was good, as was our coffees and panini. The location is also very good, but I thought that the interior had a distinctly unkempt feel about it and, at the far end where we sat, there were several areas showing damage to the wallpaper and woodwork. Hence my “average” marking. It really could do with a bit of a facelift.

Nero is always good for drinks but yesterday we were served by the loveliest lady. Friendly and helpful, very cheerful despite the heat, wearing a mask and a long queue. Whoever she was at 4.30 on Saturday August 1st, she deserves a medal. #cafenero

Nice coffee shop. Pity that they are not taking cash at the moment or using proper cups. Will be near perfect when the changes are made to cash and crockery. Not seen tables sanitised when people leave either.

Interesting building. Lots of different seating areas. Spotless toilets. Excellent service and of course wonderful coffee.

Very good service,staff very friendly & pleasant,the gingerbread lattes were the normal great tasting nero drinks,just lovely & hot ! Well Well Well ...Wot a contrast I found in the seating areas @this venue,the place couldn't of been properly cleaned for months & months,infact it's in need of a deep clean for starters with ceiling cobwebs & coffee splashes on the walls,floors & chairs/ furniture are grubby too .A refurbishment in the future should be a requirement with wall paper decoration hanging off & paint /plaster falling off in view of customers, it may have a Food hygiene rating of 5 in the window but public drink areas are a tip ,get your act together.

Good coffee, good cake, always lovely service. The only disappointment on this visit was that they’d sold out of my absolute favourite Carrot Cake, but the lemon drizzle comes in a good 2nd place.

Visiting Caffe Nero is almost the same across the UK with the venues ranging from small to large this is a smaller type with friendly staff but it can be busy on market days

Although I prefer to go to independent cafes, I have to say I was grateful for cafe Nero, it was open early on a Sunday and had vegan options. Staff were very friendly and they had newspapers available to read. Had a lovely Sunday morning - thanks

Hi, I ordered a chicken pitta and got a donner! And I ordered a garlic margherita and this didn’t even turn up with the order?!?

Food was cold and the garlic sauce looked off so had to chuck the whole lot in the bin.

The chains have lost their way with there massed produced bland prepackaged food. Independents provider fresh local produce and Oakham has a couple of far superior venues. The staff here are warm and friendly but don’t have the peripheral vision to clear tables quickly so it always feels grubby

Pizza was fantastic, not too greasy and the base was perfect. The chips however were not great, unseasoned, floppy and a bit soggy. Overall, just get the pizza.

Nice place and location for coffee with friends in town. It's also dog friendly which is handy for me. Interior decor could do with a bit of tlc, but otherwise it's pretty comfy and the usual nice Nero coffee

Pizza was lovely Mixed Donna and chicken kebab in pitta with salad 1. It wasn't a pitta 2. Not salad was 4 peppers 3. Galic mayo looked disgusting and just doluped in the corner of the box under kebab 4. Chicken was disgusting 5. Donna meet was ok but not fresh Safe to say I never ate kebab and will never order again

Great kebabs! Cannot fault the quality, will deffo order again. Only small thing, asked for mint yoghurt and got garlic mayo which I don’t like but not a huge issue.

Epic kebab. Salad in separate box so didn't go soggy. Super.

The money which I paid I did not find food is good, will not order again.

Food ten minutes. Chicken kebab and chips was spot on and good portion size. Hubby was very happy with his donner kebab and onion rings! Will use again!

Worst kebab i ever had, everything was in that container but not mixed, way too much meat and not enough sauce and salad. Never again

Took over an hour to arrive even though we live less than 2 miles away. Some pizza toppings missing, no coleslaw that we had paid for and pizza generally no flavour. My husband enjoyed his kebab though.
