Caffe Nero in Trafford

A lively atmosphere and central location but has these issues... 1. Air conditioning is often too cool depending on where you're seated and we have sometimes been sat in our coats! Yes we've asked for it to be turned down but that's not always successful somehow. Other times it's required but not working. 2. Certain staff members can be a bit off hand or unfriendly 3. Toilets are usually awful, are dirty and stink and in general the cafe can be messy and very dirty. Used as a public loo by non-customers. Filthy windows, cobwebs, dusty, worn seating, dirty floors. 4. Some mothers let their kids misbehave or left screaming heads off (yes we ALL like to relax and have a coffee break...no not Nero's fault but just saying. 5. Dog friendly but some owners let their dogs on the seats and some animals are loudly barking. Err, this is a cafe!! Plenty of room for improvements and a cleaner should be employed. We go because it's our local and the best coffee in Sale to my knowledge. Have complained on FB but Nero don't bother responding... says a lot!!

This place used to be great but what spoils it is the severe lack of table space. Many of the tables are designed to fit four people but often have to be taken up by couples or indivduals visiting alone as the number of tables are minimal considering how popular the cafe is, being situated in a great location in the centre of Sale. The majority of the tables to the rear where couples or individuals would get the most suitable smaller tables are constantly hogged by individuals on laptops and recently this has become totally out of control. It's normal for 5 or 6 tables at the rear to be hogged by people on laptops that have finished the minimal number of items they order continuing their work for long periods causing other guests to have nowhere to sit. It would be great if they took control of this by removing the wifi and sockets and maybe playing some music or even better putting in place table service or a laptop ban as other cafes are starting to do. The outside area is only comfortable if you are happy being around smokers really as it is quite compact and many people feel no issue with smoking around others. It is a real sun trap in the summer. The food and drink is what you would expect from a Nero and is decent enough to keep the cafe very busy at all hours.

Absolutely disgusting attitude from the big girl with glasses serving me. No hello , no thank-you. Cutlery , floors and tables Absolutely disgusting and not been cleaned for a while by the looks of it. Will never go there again.

Went for a coffee with my partner. Staff pleasant enough but the whole place looked tired and dirty. I went to the toilet and the ladies toilet had the seat hanging off and the floor was soaking in either water or urine with toilet paper all over the floor. Looked in the gents and it was the same filthy state. I asked to go in the disabled toilet and this was passable. Will not be going back.

Don't order, always get it wrong and it's the obvious stuff, so much of a shame because Nero is decent, just a few staff members who obviously make it apparent they dislike dealing with the public during service and cleanliness as well. Used to go in alot but this has put me off dramatically and have spoken to a few people who have said the same thing and have started going the coffee house next door or just Starbucks. Sorry Nero, hope you up you're game soon

One of the best Nero's I've been too. Very friendly barista service. Pleasant atmosphere. Great coffee. Friendly to dogs.

Very poor service, sat inside half an hour before closing and really felt like I was in the way.

Staff only care about their own work, ignore customer is waiting for order, also they don’t service the first line up person, just serve the customer they familiar. Also this is not the first time!? Very disappointing service👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I've always liked Cafe Nero coffee but this shop was underwhelming in terms of cleanliness and decor. Felt like everything was a bit grubby, sticky tables, and an odd layout of places to sit. Friendly staff but not enough to lift this to a four star experience

Whole place in need of a deep clean. Not enough staff on to collect used dishes and clean tables that have been used.

Coffee excellent as always, but what a dark, cold and rather dismal place. Staff fine, but it is in serious need of an upgrade.

Liked it, nice and comfortable I didn't have any food there just coffee and a hot chocolate which was nice because it wasn't overly sweet. Staff were ok too.

Care Nero is a popular place. A cozy place with outdoor seating. The drinks and food is a bit pricey in my opinion

This place is the pits in terms of cleanliness, we visited on a summer afternoon, decided to sit outside, most tables were vacant but piled high with used cups, plates etc…entrance is filthy. Needs a good clean , coffee is fine but who wants to sit in scruffy surroundings.

Lovely coffees, frappes and muffins. They've also got all sorts of other pastries, but I'm dying for the blueberry muffins which are very delicious.

My name is Paul,l am a regular of 10years.The manageress Magda l've known for that period of time.The standard of the service,& coffee is excellent. But the last 2 days,there has been no air-con working.The poor staff are exhausted,the customers including myself are not very happy. The first priority is customers. We will go elsewhere if you don't get it fixed. Thankyou. Just a quick update.Still no air-con.So have started taking my own fan in with me.Using their electric.

Made to feel like a nuisance for asking for allergen information during a visit here today. Tutting. Asking why I needed to know. Diabolical. Even a fellow customer commented on it. The drink I did have was so poorly made too. The only decent thing was the flapjack. I don't like leaving poor reviews but eating and drinking establishments shouldn't be treating customers so poorly when asking for allergen details, particularly given the severity of cases where people have suffered ill consequences. I thought recent legislation had created some change. Clearly not. I won't be returning.

Couldn’t believe how unwelcoming the staff were. It’s my preferred chain coffee shop and I’ve been here numerous times but today the staff were bordering on rude. Barking out ‘who’s next’ when in a queue it’s obvious who’s next and then just glaring at the customer waiting for their order. No welcome, no greeting, no professional enquiry, no ‘how can I help’ or similar. Most unusual the staff are usually very pleasant. Plenty of other coffee shops in the area.

Had the caramel latte, absolutely divine. The guy who made my drink was really nice- definitely will be going again, my mum even commented on how nice it was!

Nice hot coffee but had to ask for fresh cup when I saw barista wiping lipstick off a cup with her thumb!

I've recently been to this Nero and when I arrived the service was perfect and the workers were very polite, it was nice to see such a happy team. The drink I ordered was super tasty and the store was spotless! I'll be coming back here again as my new coffee hot spot, thank you to the girls that were working for making such a nice atmosphere. :)

Like all other Caffè Neros in the chain. The hot chocolate is decent.

Have used Neros for years, but it’s looking tired these days; in great need of refurbishment. There used to be some great staff (particularly Magda) but staff turnover seems to have gone through the roof. I still visit, just think they need to up their game now that Coffee House has opened up next door!

Regular visitor to cafe Nero Today in Sale our coffee was like warm and too weak I brought them back Pleasant staff replaced the drinks Hot but still weak! Said it might be the machines! Disapppinting

Smelly toilet, the seat was hanging off the toilet I had to report it three times it looks dated and scruffy inside .

Always a good place for coffee and cake. Helpful and efficient staff. And the loos were clean too!
