Caffe Nero in Croydon

Excellent service at this Nero's in Coulsdon. Mehmet the manager and his staff give excellent service and are so friendly to their customers, the drinks are great, the tables are kept clean - nothing is too much for them.

Top team run by a great boss. I go to many of Neros but this team manage the busy times without snd problems and to a high standard. Thanks to you all for this

Worst cafe nero I’ve been to. Grim staff. Un inviting layout and was overcharged! £11.60 for a takeaway Flat white & ham/cheese croissant… by the time I realise it was too late to go back. 🤬 And I didn’t get a receipt. Lesson learned. Avoid this cafe!!

Nice café at the high street. It is very silent most of the time and gives you a chance to concentrate and work. There is a huge hole in the ceiling that has not been fixed for almost a year now. It was leaking for a while and had been there for ages.

I really liked my visits to the Caffè Nero in Coulsdon and I really liked the Food, Service and Atmosphere as the staff are really professional when they're dealing with customers especially the difficult ones and they will not tolerate with being physically and verbally assaulted which is inexcusable.

Nice place. Could do with fixing some infrastructure I.e one corner ceiling. Relaxed atmosphere. Great coffee.

What a weird cafe experience with the worst uninviting layout of seating. The type of baristas that wouldn't get work in quality establishments so they hire them in this cafe. The Eastern European woman (I think she's a woman, I shouldn't presume her gender) was rude and short tempered. If I was her boss, I'd show her a P45 immediately. She's not fit for public-facing hospitality roles.

Dark from outside but the lighting is good once you get in! Like your usual cafe Nero. Nice coffee and expensive selection of food and sweet stuff. Staff are always nice. Lots of seating available. Update: my local coffee shop I visit most mornings ☺️ I have stopped eating their apricot croissants (a shame) as I've had two that were undercooked. Coffee is always spot on though. Sometimes there is a queue but their service is good.

Visited this afternoon 12/12. Very poor service for take away coffee and cakes. Two young men slow, uncoordinated, poor communication skills one of them sullen -verging on rude and I arrived home to find a cake missing despite pointing them out.Very disappointing

The lady at the till was very rude. Their internet wasn't working so had to use chip and pin which also didn't work but instead of apologising she just kept saying it's a fault at my end.

Every time I go to this Nero, the staff is smiley, welcoming, happy to serve me, present me with different options and checking that they got right what I asked for before paying. The atmosphere is cosy and it is a spacious cafe. Thank you!

Best place to sit and enjoy your food in a peaceful environment. Service is excellent. You can sit with family or friends. Hot and cold food, both options available.

Received my coffee in a leaking cup, did not notice until a few minutes and a few coffee spots on pants later went back to get a new cup, the middle age lady looked at me like I was asking for money, poured the coffee in another cup and gave it back, no words. Not a customer service you expect when buying £5 cup of coffee.

Unfortunately this place has not been maintained for many years and it shows. Some staff members are not really interested in serving and people are therefore voting by going next door or other places. Very sad as it used to be a good coffee place.

coffee was ok but i got charged extra for cream on top which i have never experienced before in other places. still had 45 mins before closing but staff were sat elsewhere and had pushed in all the chairs making me question whether they were closing early. this made me feel a bit unwelcome and the cream i paid extra for ended up tasting gone off.

Lack of soft furnishings and a busy Saturday afternoon meant it was quite noisy. However the coffee was excellent, the chocolate fudge cake moist and delicious and the service from the batistas friendly and efficient.

A tired and dirty coffee shop with lethargic uninterested staff

Good coffee, lovely barristers and fresh croissants. Not the best coffee in town but good enough, the service is always good and the staff are lovely to everyone. Croissants are fresh daily.

Had to ask for a cloth to clean a table, as did other customers. Food debris left lying on seats as well as the floor, no attempt made to clear this by staff. Café felt grubby. At the time cafe was quiet and not particularly busy.

Ordered large latte to take away, I mean I know latte ain’t the strongest coffee but at least you should be able to taste a tiny bit of coffee, just a warm large cup of milk, absolutely the worst coffee that I have ever tasted, 3 sips before being thrown in a temper into the oblivion, AVOID.

Awful chain that hasn’t paid tax in the UK for decades … we are in the middle of a cost of living crises and every penny that is sent to shell companies overseas is a leakage to the UK economy and makes us all poorer - spend your money with local tax paying companies!

I believe this is the best place to vist in Coulsdon, the staff are always friendly and remember you every time you go there or at least when I go there they remember but that’s probably because I go every time I go Coulsdon. Ps would highly recommend because they make banging ice coffee and let you off any time you touch the ceiling.

Barista had no idea what he was doing

Coffee was so so. Not very nice and strong. Place looked unwelcoming but the staff was very polite.

Never gives Decaf when requested, so many things always out of stock as Staff unable to also count beyond 2. Would give zero stars if I could. Avoid.

From time to time I have the misfortune to have to go to Croydon for work. This place becomes an oasis on the way home. Nice coffee, nice stuff and comfortable surroundings.

Nice little coffee shop A bit on the dark side and drafty if you sit near the door as it was constantly left open. They have free wifi but you have to register 1st.

Don't you use parchment paper for the grill? I am a vegetarian, how can you grill a meat sandwich and a Tomato panini together? Never going to visit again.

When I started going here , the old manager was miserable and I found they made really bitter coffee, which was far too hot. I went back with colleagues and they have the best barista you will find. Like finding a decent barber, once you do, you go nowhere else. Unfortunately this lady is only on loan from Gatwick. But while she is there I shall enjoy her flat whites, friendly service and always smiling.

It was nice to sit in but the Caffè really needs a boost of a makeover! The coffees were okay but the ginger nut Latte tasted a little synthetic.

Was one star initially. Haven’t been served by such a cold person only interested in robotic like adherence to rules rather than genuinely helping customers with warmth. Some people aren’t really cut out for customer facing roles, not everyone is great at small talk, it’s fine.. but don’t put those people front of house, that is a management mistake. Slight improvement at the end and I got a thank you but enough to put me off visiting again. Shame.

Used to be great, but now dominated by rude, nasty and overbearing management. I am avoiding this place until she’s gone!

I was not happy with the service. The person serving was rude and then I was waiting for my son who was being served, we went in together. She asked me to leave before serving my son. There was only one other person in the shop. The notice on the window said Not More than 3 people in the shop. I do not think I will go into Nero Coulsdon if she is serving. I would rather buy my coffee next door.

Usually i am a loyal costumer of Nero cafe as I found their coffee of a high quality. I have tried this branch the first and I didn’t like their coffee at all, yet I was passing by once and decided to give it a second try, all got was an even worse coffee. I think they should change their baristas or give them a proper training!

I’m a vitality member and get coffees as form of vouchers. This is the only caffee Nero store that doesn’t allow me to purchase two coffees at the same time (mine and my husbands on different phones) ridiculous! First time I visited I was made to wait 20 mins while the lady decided to clean the store. She closed the door on me and told me to wait while she cleaned! Service is horrible. Will try my best to avoid this store again.

Very bad experience! Barista was rude and was talking to her friend leaving me waiting for 10 mins while she has he conversation. She made my drink wrong TWICE when I only wanted a iced caramel latte, she instead made me a hot latte with no caramel and made me pay for a drink I didn’t want and didn’t drink.

Painfully slow even when it isn’t busy. Every time I go in there is only ever 1 member of staff working. You might expect 2 members of staff in the mornings at least but not at this branch.

Just op pped in to use loo as public ones not work said I have to pay fair enough so I tried to get something small and they said I wasn't allowed to use cash so I ask as I have fill in trac and trace if I could just use loo and they said no I have to pay and I said we'll I ah e nothing on card I tried cash and ur not expecting and I fill in track and tracee but they said not bladdy stupid just cos I didn't have money on card I couldn't use the toilet nice way to treat people with a disability well done guys good work lady at till nice and tried to help manager not so helpful

Overall a good service and lovely products but the batista allowed a customer to enter the store and purchase a drink without a face covering, after telling another customer that they was not allowed in without one, this seems strange, it says mandatory covering required until you either leave or sit to drink/eat. So I don't understand why they were allowed to enter the store, very disappointing.

I visit this place for first time in Coulsdon. Service wasn't bad but wasn't great also. Barista didn't wear mask, was sitting on table with friends who didn't wear mask either, so what rules are this...?? I ordered some food and Barista told me, when it will be ready she will call me as I was sitting outside. No one called me! I was waiting over 10 mins, when I came back to store she was sitting on table again with her friends. So I asked her if my food is ready and she just pointed that it's next to card machine... I never ever had such a bad experience from Nero Caffè anywhere around UK.

It's now the worst Café Nero I've visited and I have been to a few!!! Barista clueless on what to do concerning the Special Offers on Eat in Monday-Wednesday, and kept on saying she was right, very bad Attitude and very appalling did not apologize for this, left without having my typical Morning hot drink, it's very disappointing for the High standards of a Café Nero, it's my last visit to this particular branch, avoid at all costs, otherwise You will be out of pocket.

I wasn't very impressed with the service and the drinks at Cafe Nero. The drinks that we ordered was a Hot Chocolate Milano and a White Chocolate mocha and this was a hefty 7.20 for these drinks. What we received was half a glass of hot chocolate and the rest of distasteful and frothy whipped cream. The whipped cream tasted like it was gone off and we just picked it off and put it on the paper towels. The white hot chocolate was nice apart from the whipped cream on top. There was no complaints for that, a full cup. The staff that was servicing us was relatively nice but I feel like they could've done a better job with asking for allergies, and speaking up so we could actually hear them. The surroundings and the seating was a very cosy and home like feeling, with soft and cushiony seats. The general volume of the cafe was quiet so we didn't have to shout when talking to each other. All in all, I rate this cafe Nero a 2/5 stars due to the drinks being overly priced and the contents tasting awful. Thank you, Kyle

Small but nice with some comfy seating. WiFi does not auto connect - you have to register or have a Cloud account already. Coffee okay but a little weak for an Americano. Prices reasonable compared to other larger chains.

Staff are usually ok but today I presented a torn loyalty card that my child had ripped and asked for this to be transferred to a new card. I was told I could have “picked this on the street”. Highly insulting. And highly unlikely considering my coffee cost £3.50! Fine a more polite way to say no in the future. And perhaps get rid of paper loyalty cards altogether if you’re worried about people defrauding the system on such a petty scale. 2 stars as my coffee was nice and the cafe is nice and quiet.

Always a pleasure to eat here. The Manageress is lovely and always greets you with a smile. The food is great. Definitely recommend.

Like it as very convenient to get to from home. Relaxing atmosphere. Ordered a soup yes I did like it but a shame that they told me they had run out of bread rolls. So got part lunch. Suppose I ought to look at it as a slimming meal. Service good.
