We very much like this cafe and most of the staff are lovely. But the cafe needs upgrading especially as there are so many new cafes in town. Because it's used a lot the interior is tired and the windows need cleaning inside and out. Want to stay loyal to the café but there is a lot of competition in St Anne's.

I was not acknowledged as I stood at the counter whilst one barrister prepared drinks for the one lady in front of me another was wafting about with bags of rubbish and stuff and the other was having a personal conversation in a animated excitable loud manner indeed I had to wait whilst she finished her chatter then she turned to me asking 'are you alright' the retail no no in any establishment.....I was made to feel unwelcome invalidated and undervalued Time was when I used to visit most days as I love Nero drinks and always felt welcomed by the excellent manager and her team however she maybe is not aware of what is going on or perhaps she is on leave The giddy barrister did apologise when I protested at her discourteous behaviour however when I sat down to enjoy my drink she continued to chatter ABOVE the music the other team members were about their business just our resident chatterbox shrieking on inappropriately This was about 10.30 and there were 11 patrons all sitting away from the counter I shall send a companion to the counter if I choose to go again but I was so disappointed

I don’t like to be negative but this coffee shop needs some serious attention. My husband and I popped in at 7am on 28 April and there was one other person in the cafe. During the time it took us to drink our coffee only 2 people came to get takeaway coffees. My point is, it was very quiet. There were two members of staff on. Yet I had to wipe the table we chose to sit at as it was covered in crumbs, there were smears of pastry on the inside of the window and there was litter in the doorway and on the floor inside. Rather than attending to any cleaning, the two members of staff simply chatted behind the counter the whole time we were there. This coffee shop is dirty, the staff clearly don’t have any pride in their work and there doesn’t seem to be any ‘managing’ going on. I could go on… I don’t even want to start on the bathrooms 🙈

I’m in here a lot, despite the 3* rating, so why? Well, the coffee is good, I can normally find a seat in the afternoon and there is no pressure to leave, in fact they promote it as a place to work from. Dogs are welcome, which is a big plus for me, but obviously not if you don’t agree with dogs in cafes. Top tip: Costa doesn’t allow dogs, go there if you want a 'brand' coffee shop, don’t come in here and look disgusted when people pet their dogs. The service can be slow, however, with generally two staff serving so I tend to avoid weekends. Cleanliness is consistently poor, and the toilets are appalling (well, the gents is).

I am a regular here but am getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of respect for customers who don’t have dogs and the general air of apathy from some staff. The fact that I am allergic to dogs is something I have to deal with as I enjoy coming out for coffee and don’t know any local cafes that are dog-free, so I’ve given up looking. Therefore, I accept that well behaved dogs may be in the cafe. However, there seems to be no limit on how many or what kind of dogs are allowed in here. Consequently I am often surrounded by dogs, have to step over them and last week found our conversation repeatedly interrupted by the loud yapping of two dogs who were leaping around straining at their leashes. Surely there needs to be some sort of control where only so many dogs are allowed in and that they should be quiet and still? This is only one of the issues. It is also dirty, tables are rarely cleared and wiped, the toilets are disgusting. I could go on. However, I do still like their coffee.

The great thing about Nero is the consistency of its coffee from branch to branch - always a good brew and we visit a lot of locations. Usually service is good too, but not here. On our Saturday lunchtime visit, the queue was long but the two staff on duty seemed to be getting through them well, appearing to take it in turns to serve customer, as would be expected. But as I approached the front, the woman ahead of me was already having her drink prepared when the other server asked if she could help her and proceeded to get her a cake. Then straight after, without a word, that second server came from behind the counter to start clearing cups from tables, totally ignoring me and the two or three thirsty customers behind me. Now I know cups need collecting, but surely it could wait until the queue, by then three or four, was clear. After us, within a few minutes, it was. Ignorant, inconsiderate service - unbecoming of Nero and a very poor advert for the brand.

Good service, clean toilets. The only reason I have not given this review five stars is that they allow dogs inside. Today dogs barking and jumping up at the counter. Not very hygienic. There's plenty of seats outside so sit outside with your dog (or even better leave it at home). Dogs should not be allowed in cafes. Hopefully Caffè Nero will review their policy and ban dogs.

Firstly they are still serving their drinks in paper cups. No need for this, you can use crockery. They then have the cheek to charge the full price and ask you to place your paper cups in the bins on the way out which many people do not and I don't blame them. Gents toilet - toilet roll dispenser broken, evidence that a repair has been attempted with sellotape. Anyway no toilet paper at 11.30 on Sunday 23.08.20. Toilet brush container has seen much better days and needs to be replaced. Taps leaking.Come on Caffe Nero - get your act together and do it quickly!

We visit a number of Caffe Neros- so know what to expect. On this occasion we were visiting with our son, his wife and granddaughter - so needed somewhere to 'park' the pram! Found a perfect table with comfy chairs, settee and a space beside them. So met our needs. The coffee is good and I had the carrot cake which was moist and very enjoyable. It is not the cheapest place - so ok for a treat. The staff were friendly and helpful. The toilet facilities are in need of a refurb but are adequate. Overall a good experience.

We stopped briefly in Lytham before heading home after spending a couple of days in St Anne’s. Lytham itself is a nice place to visit and there is generally decent parking either free (for a limited stay) or reasonably priced. So we stopped for lunch at Nero. I remembered being here before but I had ordered before I remembered that this place is dog-friendly. I don’t mind dogs - just not when I am eating. Should have read my own previous review of this place. The service was good, as were the sandwiches and cappuccino. Unlikely that I would revisit here (though I did see many of the cafes in Lytham were dog friendly too!!).

Firstly, for folk unfamiliar to the area, please do not confuse this cafe with the one in St Annes. These comments apply to the Lytham outlet only. It's a standard Cafe Nero then. It might be a little cleaner perhaps, but the service is O.K and the coffee et al is good. A nice place for a quiet coffee perhaps? Well no. Your peace and quiet is crashed by the barking of a dog in the window. Aided and abetted by the owners who revel in it's playful yaps. The ignorant customer who insists in taking his dog into the toilets, returns and lets it wipe it's nose on my trousers. This fine if you are a dog lover. We are happy to "live and let live" but not to this extent. Unless you enjoy sharing your tranquil moments with our canine friends then I suggest you may wish to "jog on" so to speak. The dog is certainly wagging the tail here.

Good food and service but 'dog friendly' can go too far. As I write, there are 12 (honestly) dogs lying around the place. Asked a member of staff if there was something special going on. She said that there were only two places in Lytham which welcomed dogs and it was "Very popular". Amongst dog owners I'm sure it is, but in a place serving food and drink it is bonkers and unhealthy.

No table service, which means queueing up at the Counter, and this can be pretty busy at times.Patience therefore required. There are many places to have a decent coffee in Lytham so cafes have to try hard to attract custom. This well established Nero has always needed firmer management since the very blonde lass (should know her name!) left for Blackpool's central Nero. Staff chat with each other as they serve customers, sometimes forgetting details of orders (I did say no chocolate on top...) and pastries baked on site ranging from under to overcooked (when I enquired they put it down to the oven .... Why then hasn't it been fixed?)Otherwise this is a pleasant venue with outside seating and the usual range of food and beverages. A good variety of seating adds to a comfortable visit. Centrally located and easy to find on the main street.

Visited today with my husband for a browse around the garden centre and lunch in the cafe. We have said never again! The garden centre is nice with a nice selection of gifts and obviously home/garden ware, but the cafe was absolutely disgraceful! First impressions are that the cafe looks very run down. Empty display cabinets, and even though it was 1.30pm so peak lunch time, it wasn't busy at all. We took a seat in a booth and noticed the seats were all ripped. Dirty floors full of crumbs and food and dirty, uncleared tables everywhere. Flies hanging around and crawling over the tables. We had to clear a table ourselves to get somewhere to sit. I sat down and found a squashed chip stuck to my shoe. We should have just walked out there and then. There was a sign saying hot food wasn't available today for some reason, so I ended up selecting a cherry scone that looked like it had seen better days. We ordered two lattes that tasted burnt and strong. Overall, a terrible experience and we definitely won't be returning. I suspect Dobbies at Preston will be closing soon, as I know they have closed other stores in the North West, so they have not spent any money on the cafe and they are running on skeleton staff.
