Disappointing meal. Drink came in a chipped glass, my panini arrived before my partner's with the caveat "sorry I've burnt yours, I haven't made one before" Panini arrived ages later accompanied by the saltiest crisps we have ever eaten. Can't see us going back.

We would usually go to Costa when in town but its just too pricey. Decided to pop in here because it always looks busy no matter the time of day. There's a reason why it's busy, the hot drinks are tasty and are cheap. Soya milk is available. I usually have a pot of tea with soya milk and my boyfriend has a latte or a mocha. Today we took a family member who had a soya latte and it came to £6.95. The staff are friendly. Not many seats unfortunately and the outside ones are normally sat on by smokers. If you're looking for a well made hot drink at a great price then look no further.

My wife and I noticed a sign on the window of this cafe when we went shopping in Swansea, We normally have a coffee in the indoor market mid morning as a little break in the day.The sign advertised coffee and a bacon bap for £2.99 and as this is only just above the cost of our usual coffee we decided to try it out. We honestly were expecting a small instant coffee and meagre bacon bap but what we received was a large real ground coffee and a large bap filled with well cooked bacon. We had sat outside as it was quite mild and sadly the gentlemen next to us proceeded to chain smoke at least 4 cigarettes whilst we sat there and this was the only thing that took some of the enjoyment away from our new found bargain break.

Caffe Lucia has recently become one of my go-to cafes for a snack lunch when in the city centre. I can recommend the toasted cheese and onion / cheese and tomato sandwiches. The bread is always nice and the cheese is lovely and mild with plenty of filling and the sandwiches come with a side of tortilla chips. Coffees are always good too. Haven't got round to trying the cakes yet but will do on a future visit. Pleasant ambience too.

All the staff members were most welcoming, courteous and friendly and the café was quite busy. All the other customers appeared to be enjoying their choices of food and drinks and it seemed as if they have a regular clientele. I enjoyed a lovely snack and a cappuccino in friendly and clean surroundings.

Ordered a slice of chocolate fudge cake and pointed at the cake that I specifically asked for that had two layers of icing and three layers of sponge. I was given a different chocolate cake with only one layer of icing. When I took it back in (I was sat outside) to explain this wasn’t the one I ordered I was told “they are the same cake, I can’t do anything about it”. If it was the same cake, I don’t understand what it would have cost the staff to replace it with the slice I wanted as I hadn’t touched it. The two cakes were set out separately with another cake in between them and they looked different so I think this was pure laziness on the part of the staff. This is also from the same staff who don’t know how to prepare a double espresso macchiato. I wouldn’t recommend.

My daughter was visiting from university and we decided to visit Swansea for the day and called in here for a light lunch. We were a little surprised that we didn't have to wait for a table, but we now know why. We decided to share a sandwich and have a cake each with an orange juice. I went and placed the order and chatted with my daughter while the sandwich was prepared. The waiter brought our sandwich, which was lovely, there was a good amount of filling and the presentation was ok. We then waited ages and ages for our drinks and cake. I then went back to the counter to ask for them and was told they would be with us soon. There were three staff working and only two tables inside with customers (us being one of them) and three tables outside being used. Not entirely rushed off their feet. The male waiter who had taken my order then came to our table with two coffees, when I said they weren't ours he was really surprised and asked what we had ordered, when I told him he had taken our order he asked me if I was sure. A female member of staff then came and asked us what else we had ordered as they could not remember. Once we had told her we were served very quickly after. It was while we were eating our cakes that we could not believe what we were seeing. The male waiter left the cafe and went across the road to the side of Costa and started rummaging in one of the large silo bins, he then proceeded to remove two black bin bags and carry them through the cafe into the back, he then returned to to large bin and removed another large black bag, enter the cafe and go behind the food preparation counter with the rubbish bag, he asked another member of staff to put some blue gloves on for him while food was being prepared. He then carried the bag through to the back and went back out with another male staff member, who then climbed up into the large bin to retrieve another bag, they then carried it through the cafe into the back. We were absolutely dumbfounded, I have never witnessed anything like this before and I never want to see this again. Fortunately my daughter recorded it and we have sent it to Swansea Council. This place needs to be closed down.

Went here for a quick coffee and teacake during my shop on a Sunday. The service was good as was the tea cake and coffees. I wanted more butter with my tea cake so I asked the man behind the counter for some and he gave me 3 extra portions so I was very happy with that as the more butter the better serves on a toasted tea cake. If I was in that part of town again and was looking to recharge my batteries, I would consider going back again.

Dropped in for a quick lunch, being strangers in town chose this place as it looked nice and was busy. The special price sandwich and drink offer was advertised outside, but no mention in the menu. When I went to order the girl who took the order was hopeless, she had to ask her colleagues to seek answers to every question I asked. This became very waring and embarrassing to me. Eventually I chose a BLT and my husband a jacket potato. We were served quickly but the food was vey poor, the bread was dry and very tasteless. The jacket potato was unappetising. I never did get the offer that included the crisps!

APPALLING SERVICE AND ATTITUDE My sister and I visited the Caffe Lucia for coffee and cake this week (3/9/15). It looked clean and pleasant. There were customers sitting outside, with a couple of customers inside, all of whom had been served. We ordered Lattes and cake and paid for them. After 10 minutes the coffees arrived, shortly followed by my sister’s cake. I asked for mine and was told it was being prepared. My sister’s cake was rock hard, so she called the waitress over and told her it was stale. The waitress was very ‘off’ and asked her what she wanted to do about it. She requested a strawberry tart instead. I asked for mine again. We continued to wait. I saw the waitress take the strawberry tarts into the back room, but they were still not forthcoming. We finished our Lattes and the cake still had not arrived (after about 25 minutes). We went to speak to the girl on the till and said that we wanted our money back for the cake as we had finished our Lattes. She got very flustered and asked the other waitress what we had ordered (even though she had taken the order). The money was refunded, but instead of taking the money from the till, they counted out the £5.80 in 10p pieces from their tips box. My sister and I felt that this lack of service and bad attitude was deliberate, for whatever reason. We were absolutely appalled by the attitude of the two ladies and the abysmal service we had received.

Visited here today after shopping. Sat outside as it was a beautiful day. First thing I noticed after ordering coffee inside and taking my seat outside was a bowl of sugar lumps on the table all uncovered yuck ..... I wonder how many flies had walked over these cubes or how many customer fingers were handling these cubes??? Pretty disgusting I think

Where to begin! We called in to this cafe after a long shopping trip yesterday. The young boy who served us hadn't a clue what was going on around him. First of all I asked him what gluten free foods were on offer and his reply was none. He then referred to a folder and showed me a list of foods that contained gluten. All items were ticked except weetabix. Yes that's right caffe Lucia offers weetabix as a gluten free food! They clearly haven't got a clue on how to cater for gluten free requirements! How could you trust a menu that says weetabix is gluten free. Unbelievable. Anyway we settled to have two teas and ice cream for the kids. We paid and took a seat. There was only one other table being used at the time and maybe three or four people sat outside. Fifteen mins later there was still no sign of our order! I went back up to ask if it was on the way and the boy said it wouldn't be long! Five mins later, we were still waiting. At this point we had enough. I went back up to ask for a refund and yes at this point a pot of tea and two ice creams were on a tray and the boy had over filled the tea pot so the tray was covered in water. I was told by another member of staff that there wasn't any manager on duty and they would be unable to give me a refund! Eventually they called on another junior member of staff a very sullen rude waitress appeared and informed us we wouldn't be having any refund and that they had a very busy day hence our wait. Yet like I said, there was only one other table being used at this time. In the end I made the choice for them and took the ice creams and two cokes to take out as they wouldn't offer a refund. What a comedy of errors from beginning until end. We won't be returning. I advise you get your staff up to speed and inform them on all allergens. They haven't got a clue. I work in a very busy restaurant myself and I wouldn't employ any of them. Rant over.

first time in Swansea at the weekend and decided to take a break from shopping and have a late lunch in this cafe as it looked very nice from the outside. However staff did not seem to know what they were doing and very disorganised considering they were not that busy. Sandwiches we ordered were lovely but drinks still hadn't arrived by the time we finished eating, after asking a member of staff and realising they had forgotten we had ordered drinks, drinks did arrive quickly. Toilets were disgusting and actually didn't want to use them as looked as if they had not been cleaned at all that day. WIll not return in the future.

I was down in wales for the weekend visiting friends and during the afternoon we decided to go for a late lunch having organized what we would like to eat i approached the counter where I can only assume that it was the manageress who served me and I ordered three of the lunch special soup and sandwiches half way through the order she asked would I like the soup to this to which I replied yes she then snapped at me and said why didn't I ask before as I now have to start the order again felt that the manageress was under a lot of stress when the food eventually arrived it was all wrong however the young lady that served us was very helpful in putting things write and was very friendly I mentioned the fact of the beginning and a little later the manageress came back to my table and apologized and offered us cakes on the house and for the delay of the lateness of the food which we accepted we will return and hopefully the service will be better next time .also the sandwiches came before the soup incidentally the soup was on special and I later found out that it was bought in it would of been better home made ( my opinion )

Today we visited as a one off, try something different from our average Costa across the road.Sandwiches = Good bread nice and think and very soft, but where was the filling? We ordered a cheese tomato and extra onion for 20p. Firstly this was meant to be toasted and it clearly was still just bread, one thinly sliced tomatoes shared between two halves and they couldn't have been more sparing with the extra onion ordered, not forgetting we paid and extra 20p for this. Wait time 25mins*Coffee= Cold milk with hardly any flavour of coffee. Was also given a stick to stir the latte, if I wanted to stir my coffee with a stick I'd go to McDonaldsWould not visit here again.... Back to Costa we go

Dropped in here for a quick coffee and waited nearly twenty-five minutes for two americanos. No surprise the place was nearly empty. The smell in the toilet was dreadful and while the interminable wait was briefly enlivened by watching people demand refunds rather than wait any longer this didn't compensate for the drab coffee.

Wouldn't even give it 1 but 0 on all counts. After ordering I sat down near the kitchen. The door was open and to my absolute horror, the girl preparing the food was sitting on the food prep area, feet resting on the units opposite whilst on her phone. In between this she would prepare the food in the same location that her bottom had just vacated. On and off the units as well as never cleaning her hands. I complained and asked for a refund.

This cafe is set up in the lobby of the old Dolphin Hotel in Swansea, so firstly I'd like to say it's really great to see the space being used for something rather than it being another empty shell! The layout is nice and they've made a good use of the space they have; I particularly like the high sided sofas. Coming in it's easy to order and then sit down which is a nice change with a baby; they staff are friendly and great with babies; I've often popped in to grab a tea and to feed my son, the staff are understanding and supportive and the high sofas are great for being discreet!I've been coming to the cafe for around a year now and they've had some ups and downs but they're certainly on an up with this new management; it's great to see that they have a nice new baby change table in the toilets too. I've been recommending this cafe to my friends as being baby and breastfeeding friendly so I hope they'll drop in too. Food and drink wise they're pretty comparable to what else is around town; the drinks are fairly priced and the hot chocolate is delicious; they have a decent selection of hot foods like paninis and sometimes soups and delicious looking cakes. I'll certainly be dropping in for ice cream in the summer too; they even have Joe's Ice cream which is hard to find in town! :D

I visited this Coffee Shop on Saturday 18th January with my Wife, we were in town doing shopping and it started to rain so we decided to go for a Coffee, we were near this Cafe and noticed that they sell 'Lavazza Coffee' which my Wife loves so she dragged me in. When we got inside we were served by a very pleasant gentleman who took our order with a smile. He told us to take a seat and he would bring it over as soon as it was ready. We took our seats and saw that there was a constant flow of customers going in and out of the Cafe, the lad was working with two other women which both seemed happy and chatty which was very nice to see, it looked as if they all really enjoyed their job. The staff were all working as a team, a woman was making our Coffee while he was serving customers and the other woman was clearing and wiping tables. When our Coffee was done he brought it over and apologised to us for the wait, even though we had only been waiting less than 5 minutes for them to make it. I was very happy with how polite and well mannered the staff were, also the Coffee was extremely nice. As we were leaving we noticed the Chalk Boards outside said that they are under new management, after reading the reviews they have then I think they must have new staff as well, because I had a very nice experience while going there. I shall be going there again. The only negative thing I have to say about Caffe Lucia is that I think the interior does not suit a Coffee Shop, I have been to a few in my time and seen different types of styles, there are other Coffee Shops in Swansea which has a nicer feel to them, I think that they should re-design the interior to give the place a much more warm and social feeling.

Really is this place for real. This place should not be open to the public. After waiting to be served for a considerate amount of time. The girl who served me was very rude. She was in a mood and did not appear to want to be there or serve customers. How she got a customer facing job is a mystery to me. She was short tempered and very sharp when taking my order. I over looked this at the time as it was busy, how ever this does not excuse the way she was taking orders and serving customers. It took 15 minutes for my latte and hot chocolate to finally be brought over to me with no apology. I noticed he attitude towards other customers was as just as shocking as the service she gave me. I did not manage to get her name but she was only member of staff there that had blonde hair. I will not be returning there with my custom and I will be advising friends and family to stay away

Went here a while back for a quick bite to eat before work. Ordered tea and a teacake and friend ordered a cheesecake and latte. After a 15 minute wait (was quiet) a waitress clumsily bought out an order which was not said back to us and spilt the drink a little over my friend then swore afterwards. She seemed new so it was no biggie to us. My friend tucked in as I waited. We noticed the latte was actually a coffee but said nothing as trhe waitress was a little flustered.Suddenly another lady appeared who seemed to be the manager and told us we were tucking in to somebody elses order. We thought the order didn't seem right but didn't want to complain as I already said, the waitress was flustered. The manager then demanded that we pay for the order that was wrongly bought to us and refused to bring us the correct order. She was ridiculously rude and by this point I was still waiting for my food. After re-iterating to her what we actually bought and payed for she seemed to blame us as though we had walked over to somebodys table and stolen their food.I eventually waited about 45 minutes for my tea and teacake which never arrived. I wanted a refund to which she replied, I wont refund you for the one you had. Trying not to get annoyed I just said I wanted a refund for the food that never arrived which begrudgingly was given back to me. I then left for work hungry and pissed off.Need to sort their staff out!

Poor menu choices, chose ploughman's salad for £5.85 which was the most pathetic looking salad I've ever seen. Couldn't finish it despite being very hungry. coffee was alright though (should be for a café). Save your money and choose any one of the many cafes and other eating establishments in Swansea. Presentation of the food (cakes) in the display cabinet was not appetizing. Left the place still hungry and out of pocket :(

Terribly slow service unless of course your a friend of the blonde lady with glasses serving at 10.30 am 19/1/24 and you want to chat about things . I have to be honest , I didn't like the way she served a young guy in front of the blonde lady in front of me . When he asked for a pasty she seemed to find the way he asked to be amusing and smirked at the blonde . When he left she started to serve this lady but stopped put her elbows on the counter, cupped her face in her hands and started to have a full blown conversation. Then it appears as your a friend you get free extras oh and don't forget a blank collectors card that she'll fill up for you while you wait . I turned around to the guy behind me who looking at me raised his eyes and I said loud enough to be heard . '' Maybe we should have a conversation about how our day is going and pass the time while we wait '' . Eventually it was my turn to be served with a spitted '' Yes '' ? Really not a pleasant experience in my opinion and I'm sorry I stopped at this branch .

Not safe for people with food allergies. None of the staff members had any understanding what gluten was. I had to explain I couldn’t eat bread, flour, wheat etc and they then brought me a salad with couscous. I asked them for a fresh salad but I don’t think they understood how serious an issue this is for me. I have been unwell since. The service was very substandard in other respects. It felt like it was all of their first days at work. I think this cafe would benefit from decent management and training staff. It’s gone really downhill since I remember it from years ago. The cutlery was all dirty, as were the glasses. None of the tables were clean. Really disappointed

Such a shame as this has a great location and captive audience with all the walkers and visitors to the National Trust coast. We were visiting from Norfolk to see our family in the area and had a lovely walk along the cliff, so decided to have lunch, which was a terrible mistake. The food was “thrown at us” by an obviously disinterested male member of staff, who had about as much personality as one of the cold chips on our plates! The “loaded” chips had a mediocre amount of cheese and cheese sauce, so we asked for some additional cheese sauce. However, the thimble full of cold orange stuff they brought had no taste or resemblance to cheese sauce. The baguettes for the club sandwiches varied between dry and hard to soggy, so had obviously been frozen and reheated. Even though you provide a table number with your order, we noticed that the front of house staff repeatedly took food to the wrong table and not one of them had a smile or ounce of personality. They asked to clear or table while some were still eating, which we declined and when the guy eventually came back to clear the table, my wife told him the food was not good, but she might as well have been talking to the table as there was no acknowledgement etc. Then the girl reappeared and proceeded to wipe down our tables while we were still drinking. Needless to say, we will not be returning and would not recommend this place.
