Absolutely atrocious coffee. We couldn’t even finish our lattes. Watery biter We love coffee but couldn’t believe how bad it was. A machine at Tescos provides better coffee. Pleasant enough place but omg the coffee - we won’t be back.

Crazily good coffee and a continental street atmosphere outside their small business. If you like coffee, you'll love Caffe java.

We have a couple of the big chain coffee shops in Newcastle but Caffe Java has that real little European Café feel. Small and friendly but with a surprisingly decent amount of seating inside and out. The food is great as is the coffee and the staff. My favourite place for a coffee in Newcastle under Lyme.

Normally go to one of those chain coffee shops when I’m in Newcastle, but thought I would try Caffe Java for a change - and wow ! It’s so much better ! Great coffee, friendly efficient service, and lower price ! Definitely going there from now on !

You get a small Biscotti free with your coffee. Also they have artificial sweeteners. But since this is a one woman show, you might have to wait to be served (while she was preparing Panini's at the back, as I as told by another customer)

Went here years ago when it first opened. Have got into the habit of visiting whenever in Newcastle under Lyme. Friendly and helpful staff. Offers various hot drinks in differing sizes. Love the Gooey hot chocolate. Some cold drinks also on offer. Number of paninis to choose from. Toss up between beef and caramelised onion and tuna for me. Baguettes varied and tasty. Give it a try if in town. It's worth it.

Spent a few years going to Caffè Java since it opened Always found it clean. Staff very good and friendly. Offers various hot drinks. Recommended the gooey hot chocolate. Various baguettes, pains and cakes are offered. Try one of the paninis. The beef and caramelised onion is outstanding. As is the tuna and cheese. 9 year old had a cheese and red onion baguette. He loved it. If you fancy a drink or good food when in Newcastle under Lyme give it a go.

We came last Friday. The place was very busy which is a good sign. I ordered the chocolate brownie and orange juice. The brownie was good but the drink was too sour. To improve: they should spruce up the decor and build more toilets. That's all!

Not a bad coffee shop, although the owner can be very tempremental' and I find 'brusque', with you, the customers, when she cannot serve you all at the same time. That"s to be 'expected', but are manners a 'thing', of the past??? I will personally not be visiting this coffee shop again, I was spoken to very rudely and by the person who 'apparently owned it, she may have bn having a 'bad day', but, personally, I am not spending my money in a coffee Shop', like that. I travel around the country, frequenting many coffee establishments and I find the 'reception', I received there, a lot to be desired, sorry, but that was my 'experience' on the day I visited and won't be going back!!

Café amigable con zona para sentarse fuera un soleado y, de hecho, más espacio interior que aparece mirando el edificio desde el frente. Un poco caro teniendo en cuenta hay una amplia variedad de bares, cafeterías y en las inmediaciones.

After our church parade we decided to take a group of cold, wet Brownies for a little treat of hot chocolate. It was close to closing time but we were welcomed by the very friendly staff and the girls all enjoyed their hot chocolate with a small chocolate bar surprise.

Called in for a Saturday morning cuppa. Quite cramped inside so sat outside. Luckily the sun was out. Service good. Expensive for what it is - competing with the Costa and Nero chains.

I have been visiting Java for years. The coffee is excellent and at least equal to the big coffee chains. As a discerning coffee drinker I am happy to recommend what Java has to offer. If you visit you will be served by Lisa, the extremely hard working owner, who is always cheerful. Her cakes are brilliant too! There is outdoor seating where you can watch the world go by in Newcastle's busy Ironmarket. If you are lucky you may get an indoor window barstool seat. The main thing about Java is the quality and taste of the coffee.

Coffee very good. Caramel shortbread chocolate rock hard and sweating. Unable to hear assistant due to 5 staff congregating next to / almost blocking till area. Wouldn't be to bad but place was almost empty so plenty of room!!! Mug milk jug stained and tray dirty. Shame. Won't be back in a hurry

I've been to Cafe Java many times, and the service has always been with a smile, very friendly and welcoming. Lisa always remembers my usual and tailors my hot chocolate to personal preference. The cakes have been delicious every time, and she even went out of her way to find me a container to take some home. I go whenever I can !!!

Having read the previous two reviews we were very disappointed. The coffee was certainly excellent but the paninis were not. The filling was hot and tasty, so no problem there, but the panini itself was awful. It was warm and chewy and certainly didn't taste as though it had been toasted. The salad (actually just a few leaves) was brown on the edges. We were warmly welcomed. I would have a coffee there again but would not have another panini.
