Caffe Italiano in Brighton and Hove

Stopped in this little cafe for a pit stop during a day out in Brighton with my husband and son. We enjoyed a lovely fresh lemon and ginger tea, fresh coffee and very tasty authentic Italian pastries. The cabinet was full of tasty offerings. I also saw a fresh orange juice machine behind the counter. We will be back. They are also dog friendly inside.

The place a very nice Just the girls are very rude and not smiling to the guests! The food are amazing Just the staff are rude !

Probably the worst scrambled eggs that I’ve ever, and I mean ever, had. In fact to call them, scrambled, eggs is probably a breach of the Trade Descriptions Act Clearly made with powdered egg, which I naïvely thought, had gone out with the end of rationing, and prepared with vegetable oil, they were nothing more than a miserable, thick, pancake, tasteless, apart from a depressing hint of oil. If you want, decent, scrambled, eggs, creamy, silky and buttery, as they should be, go to Rust or Marmalade in Kemp Town. Just don’t order them here. Oh and the service. I forgot because I suspect the waitress forgot about us. When she did finally serve us, she grimly handed over the offending article with a blank, thousand yard stare. Perhaps she knew what we were in for….

We were charged for coffe and flapjack a total of £13.00 this came as two items on bank statement. One for £10.00 and a second for £3.00 which seemed ODD! To spend a total of £13.00 on coffe and snack seems excessive and it was not worth it. We spent a week in Brighton and this was by far worst coffee and the most expensive we had. Our ages are 88 and 84 and this did not add any pleasure to our stay!!

I cycle past this place all the time finally I had the time to try! And I’m so glad I did the iced coffee with vanilla so so good they have a really good selection of breakfast and brunch it’s in a amazing location so on a hot day perfect! The staff are really friendly and got smiles on there faces which is what you want to see nice experience definitely will return!

Came today with my dad, I had a hot chocolate and a toasted goats cheese sandwich, both delicious, great service as well

Had lunch here whilst staying in Brighton I chose the pasta Bolognese. It was freezing cold, I had to take it back inside where it was put back into the microwave. The staff are the unfriendliest people in Brighton One of them (owner I presume) came out and shouted at someone over the top of us. Accusing them of sitting on their flowers, they weren’t they were just leaning up the wall. There are plenty of better places to eat and get coffee in Brighton. I would advise somewhere that serves hot food or offers service with a smile

This place doesn't know "service with a smile". Felt like I was an inconvenience, instead of a customer. Food was ok, but expensive; also overcharged me!

A great way to start your morning: happy, friendly staff serve you the best coffee in town, and I say that having tried a lot of cafes in Brighton and Hove! They also have a good selection of delicious toasties & scrumptious cakes: their chocolate and toffee shortbread is the best. Centrally located near the Royal Theatre in a lively area with good table service, the cafe gets the morning sun & there are tables outside too. Dog-friendly & very much a place where the locals come to meet to catch up. The ideal place to watch the world go by – or get a takeaway to enjoy in nearby Pavilion Gardens. Highly recommended.

We visited Cafe Italiano twice during our Brighton minibreak as a family of 5 and both times we were certainly not disappointed! Exceptional items included the apple cake, baked lemon cheesecake, panini, cannoli & strawberry sorbet 🤤 the breakfast options were also scrumptious! Lovely, friendly service and a great central Brighton location. We will definitely visit again next time 😊

We stopped in for a couple of toasted sandwiches and a coffee. Really tasty sandwiches - especially the focaccia with mozzarella, spinach etc. The iced mocha was also really nice. Maybe a tad expensive for what it is, but I’m not complaining.

Never been before came with my mum , I had a mocha very nice and we had some Cannoli , vanilla and chocolate very delicious

I stopped here by chance as was passing and thought the cafe looked quaint. Staff were helpful and friendly. I had a coffee and bought a couple of the sweet pastries, the counter looked amazing! Lots of options for cake, cheese croissants etc. Great location for people watching, it was very relaxing watching the world go by in an authentic Italian atmosphere.

Not precise I ordered tea (honey ginger lemon) expecting that it’s tea but ended up with water mixed with honey lemon and ginger without tea.Anyway it was good but i hope you be more precise in describing drinks

Popped in for coffee finished up with coffee and cakes before going to the circus round the corner. Similar feel to a place we went to in Verona, many years ago. A great spot to sit and watch life go by in a busy streetscape.

Came here for a coffee my dad got an espresso which looked excellent, I got an iced coffee which was made out of instant espresso and cost £4. So disappointing really.

This café appeared to be authentically Italian. It seems to be full of locals many enjoying breakfast. We ordered two flat whites and sat outside on the terraced area to drink them. The quality was excellent and they were reasonably priced at £5.00 for two.

Pedí una comida de dos por una y me cobraron por no hacerlo! excluyendo la oferta y negando la oferta que estaba claramente en el menú. No vieron cuando habíamos terminado o queríamos pedir bebidas. asqueroso.

Wuntu a través de las tres redes móviles, este lugar anuncia 7 días a la semana 2 por 1 platos principales. Visitamos y mostramos el trato, como lo hemos hecho en muchos otros lugares que figuran en la lista y el personal se negó a aceptar la oferta y dijo que solo ofrecerían un 10% de descuento. Esto es horrible, si un establecimiento decide suscribirse a un esquema como wuntu para ofrecerle a los clientes ofertas, ¡deberían respetarlo! Cumple se ha planteado con wuntu y wuntu se disculpó y dijo que están llenando una queja con los propietarios por el hecho de que nunca se hayan suscrito si no aceptan clientes con el acuerdo. Nunca hemos comido aquí antes y ahora nunca intentaremos después de la experiencia que tuvimos y el inútil personal.

Nice coffee, and small but delicious croissants. Great way to start a morning. Here in may this café catches the early morning sun . Has inside and outside seating. A loo is available although not obvious.

Great coffee and delicious snacks...lots of genuinely home made goodies and a small but very good daily menu. The staff are very attentive and warm. Best thing about it is the location...perfect for a real ‘feel’ of Brighton. Love it!

Stopped for a pick-me up cappuccino, and loved it. Ace coffee. The vanilla cannoli are to die for. Lovely location sitting in the bright sunshine of a cool February day. Hard to tear yourself away.

Stopped off here Friday for coffee and lunch. Wonderfull spicy meatball sandwich and great coffee. Homemade quiche and salad. Great too and lots of it. Great location. Gorgeous deserts.

My naan looked suspiciously like pitta bread... and my kebab was deconstructed, I wasn’t planning on spending 15 mins trying to contstruct it...

Been here a few times for coffee. The cakes and filled rolls look very tempting. Will share one next time as they so big. Cosy place with friendly service

We visited this place for a snack and drinks. It is clean and reasonably priced. Drinks were fine as was the service. The jacket potato meal was appetising and of good proportion. We would happily return.

It was an hour late. At this point we tried to ring to cancel as we decided to order from someone else. After 32 attempts to get through to them they eventually arrived. The delivery man was very unapologetic.

Over an hour late from delivery time given, which meant delivery was 2hrs 10mins for a burger and pizza. I live a 2 min drive away from the shop. Shocking service.

apparently if you order so much you get free onion rings.... don’t believe it as we didn’t get them,even though we specified in the notes overall the other food was delivered on time and would order again and was good just you should get what you are promised

The delivery time was early. The food was delicious and hot and more than enough, I feel I got more than I paid for. Delivery staff was very polite and friendly, and I got my free onion rings. Nothing was missed off my order and food was well presented. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Thank you :)

amazing food, melt in your mouth pizza and all delivered piping hot.. highly recommended

cheese and chips were poor. hot wings fell apart so easily and tasted plain. pizza and cheesy garlic bread was good. maybe order again but im still considering other places.

Not usually a pizza lover, however tonight I fancied one and Italiano’s did not disappoint! Gorgeous pizza! not full of grease and very generous with the toppings! cooked to perfection from fresh! Will be ordering again very soon ! 😋😋

the food was really good really good portions sizes, food was late but not the takeaways fault it was just eat that messed up the order and didn’t send it to the takeaway, when ringing the takeaway the staff was helpful and friendly but was all down to just eat so would recommend this place but I’d ring and order over the phone next time as I now don’t feel right ordering through the app. when they got the order they sent it really fast and was great at helping us out. would definitely recommend this place for nice food and friendly fast services!!

The pizza was just ingredients thrown into a base and cooked, an Italian would slap you for that. And the chicken...wow...honestly the worst chicken I’ve ever eaten, tasted like soggy cardboard with an undercooked breadcrumb batter. Never reviewed anything before but this had to be documented because this was absolutely terrible, also had to wait nearly an hour 45 for it so thoroughly ripped off is how I feel. Sort your self out Italiano

The food was really nice but I only received 2 out of the 3 drinks on my order and my pasta looked like someone had already ate a quarter!?

We have stopped here several times while in Menton for a quick lunch or just a coffee. They serve many Italian espresso drinks and have an assortment of pastries. The prices are the cheapest in Menton and the wait staff are all very friendly. Sunday mornings are tough to get a seat but otherwise both the indoor and outdoor seats are available. There is also a clean restroom.

This good was excellent piping hot plenty in fact was more than enough great service too ..

some discrepancy over delivery but as always the food was 100% and will still be my no 1 choice

Came for lunch today; penne bolognese was great. Cheap(ish) and chearful. What more could you ask for?

Arranged collection so would be quicker but still another 10mins late. Garlic bread dry beyond belief. No chilli sauce despite ordered. Donner meat had no taste and was grey?!. Pizza was OK.

The Garlic bread had an awful taste. My kids love garlic bread but wouldn't eat this. I tried it and agreed with them. The rest was nothing to write home about. Italian in name but defintiely not Italian in eating. We won't be ordering again.

Top food as always! This is our No1 takeaway in Horwich! never a bad choice! Burgers are unreal, same with the pizzas and the donner kebabs are the best around!

The burger that was ordered was more like a cheap rustler burger, pasta was nice but cold due to lateness as was same for chips.

Fried chicken and chips meal x3... Honestly it was superb...the kids loved it..chicken was cooked perfect and the delivery driver nice and cheerful

Love this place! My only disappointment was I would prefer the fries to be cooked for longer -keep up the great tasty food peeps.

Only place I would eat pizza from -not a fan normally, but love the sweet veggie! Food arrived 5-10mins early, piping hot & very tasty thank you.

We eat here a lot, as in 2-3 times a week. Never had a problem until tonight. I went in and was told, very rudely, that I was ten minutes late. If I am collecting, anything could get in the way which coincidently it did. I had to defrost the car as it was the first use today. When I got home I realised my drink was missing. So I suggest that if you choose to be so patronising, get the order right in the first place. I usually find the service pleasant so maybe this was the new manager or something? Either way, disappointing.

The food was delivered approximately 2 hours after ordering this. The delivery provided a bottle of wine as cmopensation for this, but did say that they had just not noticed the order which is why it was so late.

Great food but the delivery driver was extremely rude so on that basis I wouldn’t order again.

Honestly cannot fault this meal! Piping hot when arrived, made specifically as I requested (several special requests) but everyone was taking Into account will defiantly be ordering again! thanks for the great food! x
