Do not go here, service very disappointing and food isn’t that great, my sister and I got food poisoning, when I spoke to the manager he couldn’t stop thinking of excuses to not refund what we paid on Valentine’s Day, bearing in mind there were only two tables, should’ve known. Disgrace your best of going to pizza express! Always believe in giving small Business a chance hence the visit, certainly not here again.

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday night, to celebrate our anniversary. The food was delicious, cooked by the Italian chef who also happens to be the owner of the place. It’s a very quirky, cosy restaurant, we really enjoyed it.

An absolute hidden gem of Twickenham. Family owned, the owner is the chef, the don kitchen is within the restaurant, so you can watch Chef cooking every meal from scratch. Really authentic Italian, loved every minute of our experience, really friendly waiters , chef comes out to check everything is okay with the meals, small menu, but once sat down, we found at least four or five specials on the board. I had the aubergine starter and pasta from the special board - Absolutely beautiful.. The pizzas looked absolutely amazing as they were coming out. If you’re in the area and you haven’t tried this restaurant, please do pop along and savour really comfortable meal in a friendly setting with incredible food. This restaurant does close at 10, so arrival at least a couple of hours before. Really enjoy your experience. Can’t wait to return.

Absolutely fantastic! This is a cosy family run business and the actual owner is the chef. He will make you whatever you like or take out what you don’t like. He couldn’t have done enough for us and the food was lovely. The crostini was delicious and the calamari too, along with the mains. We got the red wine called montepulciano (I’m not a big wine drinker) but I could have drank it all night. It was gorgeous. Please visit this place if you’re in town!

Returned tonight after our last visit five years ago. Still a great, welcoming atmosphere- good true Italian menu. Perfect weeknight venue for a get-together with old friends, top notch meal!

Great local home made Italian food

Definitely the best pizza around Twickenham. I've been several times now with my partner and friends, both dining in and have collected takeaway, we keep coming back! Lovely staff and really nice place to eat - good little wine and drink selection.

Great, authentic Italian restaurant with amazing food. All ingredients are fresh and although I noticed some reviews commenting that it’s expensive, I disagree. Our pizzas were £12-14 each which is pretty standard, so well worth it for a good quality Italian pizza in London. Most of us could only eat half so had leftovers for the rest of the weekend. The restaurant has a very homely feel with the chef cooking right by your table. Friendly service and it can be easy to forget you’re in twickenham as it genuinely reminded me of being in Rome again.

We went on Saturday evening after the rugby, 4 adults and 3 kids. Quite busy but no attempt to rush us. Limited menu due to the circumstances - Pizza and Pasta, every meal was spot on, house wine very nice. Staff made it with their friendliness. Been many times and the normal menu is great as well

One of Twickenham's great Italian places, which there are many. I went here with a friend and his family. The first thing you notice is the setting, there is all sorts of interesting trinkets inside creating a great atmosphere. It's quite small so you get great service and the food was great as well. You can always tell an authentic Italian restaurant because during summer, they close for month to go back to Italy for holidays. If you are looking for an authentic Italian dining experience you can't go wrong here.

Highly recommend for authentic Italian place! Great cozy, genuine family atmosphere to enjoy pizza with a glass of red wine. The chef/owner will give you special treatment and meet all of your desires. The bartender-waiter is delightful and polite, good addition to your pleasant dinner experience any time of the week!

We stumbled upon this place looking for dinner after a rugby match. It is a proper family style Italian restaurant which isn’t pretending to be anything else. We were welcomed in with a smile by a nice lady and shown to a small table for two. For a change I felt like she actually was pleased to have us there which was a good start. The menu was small and simple but this isn’t a problem for us because it usually means it is all made fresh. We ordered a couple of courses, a nice glass of wine each and had a great meal and a lovely evening.

Had a great night after a rugby game here, the food was excellent as was the service. A simple menu done very very well. We were a table of 11 with a mix of adults and children who all loved it.

Fantastic food in a quaint authentic atmosphere. Last minute booking for 8 but Don was brilliant. Menu a little light on choice but between us we had every starter and most of the main course dishes. All cooked perfectly and all were delicious. Thank you.

Dumbfounded how this has such a high rating!…Avoid..looks like a traditional Italian but is anything but that…antipasto (£13.5) looks like a child put it together blindfolded, with cheap meat all over the place, cheese and cucumber (cucumber really?..what’s that doing there anyway?) and red pepper that looks like it had been diced with a plastic fork! Calamari starter is £9 and come out of a frozen bag …greasy, cheap, rubbery and nasty! Again presentation was amusing. Enjoy a pint of moretti for £6.90 and a glass of cheap rose for £9.00 if you fancy being ripped off, also when you haven’t sent food back and you order a coke it comes in a glass bottle..once you’ve sent food back it comes out in a can. Also a can San pellegrino (lemonade) sets you back £3.90. Right moving on to the mains…the pizza is okay but only okay far from special first time my kids haven’t finished their pizzas when eating out. I ordered porcini mushroom pasta (£13.90) and wow what a sight it looked like sick that had been scrapped of the floor the smell was awful and literally turned my stomach, not a case of it being too rich and not to my liking…it was just disgusting! My wife got the seafood pasta (£16.90) which also looked very odd …not what we were expecting… none of the ‘seafood’ was recognisable and was smothered in a very bland (probably bottled) red sauce. We sent them both back, worth noting the waitress couldn’t tell which dish was which either even though one is in a white sauce and one in a red sauce they both looked and tasted…filth! Should have seen the warning signs… all other tables were old people, big hairy staff and chefs with no hair masks..they have what looks like Italian chef in view and then the rest are Indians out the back. Toilets were rotten and in need of various repairs…decor was dated and grubby and the service was a joke…waitress was incredibly awkward and doesn’t know the little things like not to just lean over your plate etc and just clearly lacked any training. Who I assume is the owner ‘Rosie’ was ok at first…but soured when we sent the mains back I almost felt like she knew we weren’t going to like the food and was only too happy to take it back and took off the bill as I made it clear I wouldn’t be paying for that junk. I Haven’t felt well since leaving about 2 hours ago and I’m annoyed with my self for paying the rest of the bill (86.50) But couldn’t be bothered with the drama as was out for what I was hoping would be a nice family meal with the wife and kids. This places days have got to be numbered, can only assume they have survived because of the rugby event days, with drunk rugby fans eating anything and drinking £7 pints. Lastly your receipt is a dodgy hand written receipt with what you’ve ordered unreadable and written with a crayon with only the prices written in pen! Please trust me and ignore the good reviews for this place you will not enjoy it…and you will leave feeling ripped off!!

Stumbled on this place after watching England beat Wales in a tense match! Absolutely amazing. The truffle ravioli with mushroom sauce was to die for. We will return ♥️

My friend and I couldn't believe we had overlooked this place in the many years we had been living here. We had a really warm welcome from the server so friendly and put us at ease straight away. Although his knowledge of the menu was questionable (he was unable to tell us what was in certain dishes) not a problem as the friendly chef helped him out. We got garlic bread to share which was delicious! For mains I had the special of the truffle mushroom ravioli and my friend had the seafood spaghetti, my dish was outstanding. However my friend didn't enjoy hers unfortunately. The house red wasn't to my taste. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was a tiny portion. Overall we had a good night. Disappointed in the size of dessert and it is overpriced for what it is, for a starter to share, two pasta dishes and tiny desserts it was £81 excluding service. Definitely overpriced but food was good, not sure I'd go back due to it being expensive. Cute warm place, glad wrote tried it out.

The best compliment is that it reminded us of Sicilian food!!! Delicious, authentic & packed full of flavour! Unassuming from the outside, this place serves excellent Italian cuisine. Owners are so friendly & happy to chat. A quite special place to stop off and have a bite to eat. Pasta & pizza were delicious, quiet & relaxed atmosphere all added to the occasion.

Caffe del Mare is a real hidden gem in the heart of Twickenham. Incredibile Italian food - 200% quality guaranteed!!! This family-run business has a unique charm and cosiness and a delightful service. A must whenever you may find yourself in the area!

It is currently (10 Feb 2021) open for takeaway on Friday and Saturday evenings. Still the best pizza in town.

Local Italian frequented by regulars; understandably limited menu give the restrictions for Covid-19 but the food remains authentic and good, the staff super welcoming and friendly. Support them, they deserve it.

Since Lockdown 1 we've been lazy-bones and had loads of delivered dinners. Our favourite restaurant Cafe del Mare don't deliver - only takeaway. For the first time since March we picked up 2 pizzas. We must have tried 4 different local pizzerias who deliver, but...

Booked this for a meal before the theatre so we were early diners, really friendly welcome when we arrived. Had antipasti for two shared between 3 but this was plenty and very tasty. We all had ravioli which was very light and full of flavour.

We have been coming to Caffe Del Mare almost every week for 5 years! It really is a special restaurant run by the nicest family. The food is cooked by the owner himself and although there is sometimes a wait for food, the atmosphere is so relaxed that we find the time flying by, even when we're with our children (4 and 6) who are happy to wait for 'the best pizza in the world!' We've recommended this place to a lot of friends over the years and most are now regular visitors themselves. Also, incredible value for the food and wine you get!

Discovered this little restaurant a year ago, and now it is our local haunt. A simple yet substantive menu, with delicious pizzas and pastas and salads all made fresh by Dom, the Italian owner and chef who will somehow manages to find the time to pop by the table to say hello. The front wait staff are welcoming, the house wines are good quality and we know that we'll leave having had a good meal, and a good conversation in a place where we are welcomed and made to feel right at home.

Visited this restaurant a few weeks ago for a girls' night out with a party of friends on the recommendation of one of my neighbours.The food was delicious and very authentic and the service efficient and friendly. We had a great time and will certainly go back again.

Me and my partner had dinner here recently for the first time. After reading loads of good reviews I was really excited to come here and have this amazing food. For the starter I had prawns which were so poorly presented, but most importantly, very salty. That was disappointing. For main course I had a steak that came with roasted vegertabels. I have to say the steak was cooked to perfection, but vegetables were swimming in oil and it was simply too fatty to eat since the steak had enough fat itselt. The salt levels were perfect for the main course. Slightly disappointed with the whole experience.

Visited it a couple days ago. Space: cosy. Toilets: in a very bad shape and old. Service: genuine, but slow. Food: Italian sausage starter - very salty, but reasonably priced. Prawn starter - very salty, no presentation at all and overpriced (£7.99). Steak meat was great, veg drowning in fat though. Truffle ravioli - tasty, but difficult to gauge truffle presence. No presentation on the plate.

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years, but had not been for a while, so it was great to see the same chef, cooking great food.

Went to the restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday, we were not let down the food was excellent plenty to eat loads of choices, the restaurant has that rustic feel to it. The staff made us very welcome the house wine we had was red and I must say it was one of the nicest I have ever tasted. We enjoyed the place so much we made 2 more bookings on our way out can't wait to go back. I have often drove past and seen the restaurant busy, now I have made the effort I will certainly be back and will be telling friends, do your self a favour and make a booking, try the real thing forget the other pasta joints, this is the real thing.

These guys cook lovely rustic Italian pastas and great Napoli style pizza. You can tell they really care about thier customers and they're super nice too!

Lovely ambiance, staff and menue. Have been over the last few years a few times and found it to be consistent. This is one of the few owner run restaurants left that I know of and the food shows the difference between franchise/chains...no microwave or frozen food here!
