Caffe Concerto in City of London, Westminster

Ich persönlich habe mich in diesem Café alles andere als wohl gefühlt. Da es ewig dauerte, bis unsere Bestellung aufgenommen wurde und dann auch nochmal ewig gedauert bis unsere Bestellung endlich serviert wurde. In der Zeit fühlten wir uns durch das überforderte Personal unterhalten. Wenn Mitarbeiter zurechtgewiesen werden, sollte man das nicht vor den Gästen machen. Die Bestellung hat es im übrigen auch nicht vollständig an unseren Tisch geschafft. Wurde der Kaffee halt geteilt. Kurz zu den Macarons , die haben geschmacklich maximal 2 Sterne verdient.

Lugar bonito, bem localizado, ótimo atendimento, fomos muito bem tratados. Tivemos uma ótima experiência em nossa estadia em Londres.

As a well-established and reputed dining spot in Piccadilly, London, known for its excellent ambiance and quality food, I expected much better from Caffè Concerto. My wife and I visited for an enjoyable evening, but our experience was far from what we had anticipated. We were seated at table #18, which was originally a 6-seater but had been converted into a 2-seater near the window. The ambiance of the restaurant, with its elegant décor and lively atmosphere, was welcoming and perfect for a pleasant evening. The desert, as expected, was excellent—beautifully presented and delicious. Unfortunately, despite the quality of the food and the setting, our overall experience was overshadowed by a distressing incident. I had placed my backpack on the floor next to my feet while we took some photos and enjoyed the evening. Around 7:50 PM, a man sat at the table next to us. Strangely, he left without ordering anything within 10 minutes. At around 8:10 PM, when we were about to ask for the bill, I noticed my backpack was missing. I immediately informed the staff and requested them to check the CCTV footage, especially as there was a camera positioned directly opposite our table. To our dismay, the staff refused to help, stating they didn’t have access to the footage. The manager, Mr. Vito, mentioned that they could only investigate after we filed a police report, as access to the footage was controlled by their head office. He also advised us to lodge a police complaint and kindly provided the address of the nearest police station. In a gesture of goodwill, Mr. Vito waived our food bill and issued us a receipt from table #14 to include in our police report. During this interaction, our waiter, Mahir, mentioned that the man who sat near us had raised some suspicion, as he didn’t order anything during his short stay. However, Mahir admitted that when he noticed my phone was still on the table when the man left, he felt more relaxed, assuming everything was fine. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. While Mr. Vito’s assistance was appreciated, the overall response from the restaurant was deeply disappointing, especially given Caffè Concerto’s esteemed reputation for its service and setting. Mahir also mentioned that thefts in the area were common—though not typically inside the restaurant—and prepared us for the likelihood of not recovering our belongings. For a renowned establishment in a prime location like Piccadilly, the lack of immediate support, security measures, and the indifferent attitude of some staff members was shocking. A restaurant of this standing should not only offer excellent food and ambiance but also prioritise the safety of its guests and take swift action in such situations. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case, and it left us feeling unsafe and unsupported. We are deeply disappointed with the experience and cannot recommend Caffè Concerto, Piccadilly, to anyone seeking a safe and secure environment, regardless of its reputation for excellent food and ambiance.

Beautiful decor, good service very good food. Your website software is a bit cumbersome and requires too many security steps for something that is not very confidential; bad design. I may not respond to requests to evaluate service in the future for that reason.

My everyday breakfast spot! Great food and service. I usually go to the one in Piccadilly, next to Notto. Alex was very professional and friendly.

Great staff, who are let down by the average afternoon tea. For start they ran out of English tea (Tescos is just around the corner). The scones were a little stale (fell to bits when you pick them up). The macaroons were average and the cakes were ok. There are better places to have an afternoon tea but if you want average then this is the place for you

Had lunch here today, and the Rigatoni Siciliana was absolutely sublime! The flavors were incredibly rich and intense—truly a standout dish. Highly recommend, even for non-vegetarians like me!

I have been wanting to visit Caffe Concerto for ages and finally got my chance last Saturday. The location and Art Deco ambience was perfect. The choice of food and drink, esp the coffees, was mind boggling. I had the seafood risotto followed by Black Forest Gateau, my guest had the seabass, with mulberry iced tea and rose syrup cafe latte. I look forward to going back, and it's great to find a small chain of patisserie cafes that fill a yawning gap between ubiquitous Starbucks etc and the top end Fortnum and Masons type afternoon tea venues. A bit like the sorely missed Lyons Corner House of my youth!

Always good trip. Food good as always. Service was a tad slow, drinks were made and left at the bar. At to ask for them twice. But overall, great brunch.

Very slow service and very over priced food - £27 for a small bowl of spaghetti bolognese is absurd. Cakes nice but again £9 for a slice is crazy. It used to be a really good chain, with good service and good value: no longer.

This is not our 1st time at Caffè Concerto. Staff @61 Piccadilly were very friendly and welcoming. Special mention for Vito who was a gentleman and very patient with 2 indecisive customers (us). Food was of high quality and reasonably priced and the restaurant was very clean. The one observation I have is, that the gents toilet is snug (I doubt they can do much about that).

Great experience - this was our 2nd visit and delighted to speak to Vito who is a great host! Lovely lunch and drinks. Hoping one day that the scaffolding will be gone so everyone can see beauty of Caffe Concerto from the outside as well !

Service was very slow and they forgot our water. The worst was that our table was so sticky that our plates, glasses and everything stuck to the table. It was truly disgusting and with such bad service it was not possible to communicate this to anyone. We are just a couple of middle aged ladies who were out for tea. Until now I could recommend a Cafe Concerto to anyone as I live in Central there are plenty around but never again

I took the afternoon tea, and The food was not good.

We went for the afternoon tea for my birthday. Vito was an excellent host, very attentive and warm. The food and tea was delicious. The only slight downfall was the lack of cakes for vegetarians, as most contain gelatin. If there is a vegetarian option, the whole meal should reflect it, not just the sandwiches. But Vito was very understanding and offered to swap the cakes. Overall, it was an enjoyable afternoon experience, and I would definitely recommend it.

The restaurant was so short of staff, I was there during my office lunch break. The food came 45 mins later, after we explained we were on lunch break twice. No water was served throughout, we left after the food without any water, we were rushing to go back office.

Tried on booking to tell staff about egg and dairy intolerance- was told to tell on the day of the afternoon tea. Everything was good, except the Manager/Supervisor working that evening was just miserable and everything seemed like an effort or an inconvenience. I understand people have bad days, but if you work in hospitality then it's no surprise you have to be nice to the customers who come into your establishment.

We wanted afternoon tea for 3 but the waitress didn’t understand so we had afternoon tea for two between three of us which actually was a blessing as the sandwiches and cakes selection was not good at all in contrast to the cakes in the window and it all seemed a bit dirty, tired and busy in there for the price. Unenthusiastic waiter, wasn’t really interested in anything. Asked for extra tea and forgot for 20 minutes even though we asked twice. Or an afternoon tea or two there were 4 cakes all of different flavours so had to share to enjoy the flavours together ( ie 1 chocolate mousse and 1 strawberry mousse. 1 chocolate tart and 1 strawberry). Small portion of cream to share in 1 pot. Sandwiches were good and 1 brioche finger roll each. Surroundings were ok by not great. All a bit underwhelming. And had to pay for the extra cup of tea. Don’t think we will be returning 😔

The service we received was very poor. On arrival I said I had booked Afternoon tea and had a voucher. After we were seated I was asked for the voucher. The member of staff was not very friendly and only after securing the voucher details gave us any details about the tea. We asked for some alternatives to the sandwiches which we did not get and the tea service was not explained to us properly in terms of having more than one cup of tea. When we asked for clarification the member of staff didn't seem to understand us. I will not be returning and would not recommend .

As a gift for my 60th birthday a very enjoyable experience. We had a cream tea with delicious sandwiches, scones and beautiful cakes, all fresh and great variety. Maybe a small point was one of our waiters wasn't the most friendliest, no interaction or a smile, saying that, others were lovely! Thank you for a lovely time at Green Park, would recommend.

The servicw was excellency at the Picadilly Square location. I had the Risotto with Prawns and it was delicious. I highly recommend.

It was divine. It was a slice of luxury. The most lovely masala chai tea. We loved it. The crepes with banana and Nutella were to die for and the portions are terrific. Loved the experience.

When you walk into your kind of cafe the welcome that you get from the staff member that you encounter says a lot about the visit ! . The staff member appeared to be bored with her job and did not interact at all with us . It took 35 minutes to get our pots of tea . Apart from this we were very happy with the food .

Terribly poor value for money for afternoon tea. Tapenade with cucumber sandwiches in particular which is not on the menu. Tea water is replenished but you do not receive a new tea bag. And that for about 70 pounds. for 2 persons. A rip-off.

Visited Saturday 6:45pm (with my family) for some tea and cake. I was disappointed with the service from what I assumed was the manager (bearded gentleman) as he was shouting orders at staff. I walked in and missed the sign which said “wait here”. I sat down at a table, when this gentleman quite aggressively told me people were waiting. I said sorry, got up and waited by the sign. Almost immediately he took me back to the same table. Seems he just wanted to prove a point which is silly, if no one was actually waiting. He didn’t tell a white couple to get up who had come in at the same time and sat down. It felt he could be rude to me as I was non white.

Came for afternoon tea, they offered two tea selections with the food tower. we requested the prosecco upgrade but they never gave us the prosecco, however, we weren’t charged. the scones tier was pretty good but the sandwich and dessert tiers weren’t delicious. the desserts tasted like they had been pre-frozen. service was good though.

We had pre booked and we're shown to our table immediately on arrival. The restaurant was very busy, but our order was taken fairly quickly. The food took sometime to arrive, and was tasty, despite the fries being luke warm (we sent them back to be re-heated). Which they did promptly and they were hot and tasty. We also ordered scones/cream and coffees. The scones arrived fairly quickly and were very nice (soft fluffy centres and a crunchy outer pastry 😋). Unfortunately our coffees didn't arrive until we'll after we had eaten the scones (despite following up with various waiters 5 times!). We were eventually told their was a problem with the coffee machine which was causing the delay. It would have been more forgiveable if they had communicated this sooner! All in all all, despite the above issue, we would visit Cafe Concerto again.

Greeted very oddly by a lady at the door. After being seated the same lady took our orders and was being very rude by showing her impatience by tutting and rolling her eyes when we were ordering but seemed to be quite patient when dealing with other customers. My cutlery still had a piece of food on it and so did those of the people sitting with me . After inspecting one set of our cutlery , she says " this is not dirty" and gives the cutlery back to one of my party. She then came to our table to replace our nearly burnt out candle and swaps our candle with the one from the table behind which was also nearly burnt out. To my horror, she comes back with fresh new candle and uses our little candle to light the new candle which she gives to the table behind us. Whilst we are eating our meal, she comes back with yet another candle that she uses our candle to light AGAIN. She then comes back to ask us if everything is okay with our meal, to which a person from my party says that her cocktail is very diluted. The waitress proceeds to say " I'm talking about the pizza" and completely dismisses the issue with the drink. I am so disgusted by the conduct of that staff member and will never come back. We were very polite and stayed that way even after the poor treatment. Evidently we didn't pay service charge and I will be making a formal complaint as this is not acceptable at all. I can understand if I or anyone in my party was rude/disrespectful, but this was not the case. She clearly did not want to welcome us here.

this is a beautiful restaurant/cafe. The staff were very good. It was especially great because I requested a particular table where it could be quieter. I was delighted that it was kept for us for the appointed time (I think it was the manager who kindly did his best to fulfil my request. It was important for me as I was meeting a very old friend who I meet up with only twice a year so we had plenty to talk about. I will certainly be booking again for our next meeting.

I have been going to café concerto for years and loved it but something happened. Service is quite bad and OMG - the prices surprised me…average main dish prices around £25 which is a price for a very high level restaurant which café concerto is not. As the food is not as good. We had dinner in the superb luxury restaurant literally around the corner with the same prices but the food is the next level, service is VIP so overall - I was surprised by this new strategy, I think that was the last time I go to to cafe concerto.

Extremely slow and poor service. Staff had limited English which made it difficult for them to understand customers. The wait for our food was almost an hour and we asked several times where it was as all around us other customers who came in after us were being served. We were told it was coming and then told it was taking longer because we were having poached eggs and these take longer! Customers on other tables were complaining about missing ordered items and the slow service. Not sure if this was an issue with the kitchen or just generally but not good enough. During the very long wait we were not even offered a drink - this demonstrates a lack of understanding of any customer service and points to training issues.

I went today and the attention from the waiters iwas flawless and the food extremely tasty. For sure we are coming back!!

I invited a friend who was visiting from the USA for a late lunch at Caffe Concerto in Green Park and it was a terrible service. We were left unattended to for over 35 minutes (and it was not a busy day). The waiters were all walking about looking busy but never came to us to take our order. We had to physically walk up to them to remind them that we were seated guests. The whole service left a bitter taste in my friend's mouth and said he would not recommend this place to anyone.
