On arrival it seemed nice , we sat where I could see the kitchen , a lady preparing food was touching raw sausage, she then went on to make salads and avocado without washing her hands , whilst doing this she licked her fingers and the carried on preparing fresh food . Make us feel sick

I've been popping in for coffee and a sandwich since it opened - What a really nice place and everyone is friendly and welcoming. I'm a boring old fart and just want an old fashioned cup of coffee, the waitress didn't understand but the owner knew exactly what I wanted and made me a cup of coffee{:-) The food is excellent and plenty of it This is a must visit coffee shop *****

I endorse the previous reviews of this lovely little cafe right by Riddlesdown Station. It's clean, bright and very welcoming with excellent staff. Hasan the owner is an experienced restauranter & knows how to make customers feel at home. He has a wide ranging lunch menu to suit most tastes. It's fairly small making it more intimate but not squashed. Parking locally isn't always easy but If you are in the area it's well worth making the effort.

I visited this new cafe for lunch and was very impressed with the standard of both food and service. Had a very nicely done mushroom omelette and salad, also a latte which was the best I have had for some time - creamy and delicious. The service was really welcoming and I will definitely call again.

***CAFE ISTASYON***, Lower Barn Road, Riddlesdown, South Croydon. I decided to visit this new cafe situated on the parade of shops opposite Riddlesdown Station. It is a fantastic cafe / restaurant / deli which ~ which has been fitted out beautifully and decorated by the owner to a very high standard. He has done an amazing job, and it also has a lovely decked area outside with balustrades and beautiful flowers which make it a glorious place to go and sit out in the sun. The menu is 'extensive' and is not just your usual cafe, but has some amazing 'First Class' Lunch Specials as well as the 'All Aboard' for Breakfast specialities. I went for the large, 'Traditional Breakfast' which was very tasty and great value at £6.90, also had the large Capuccino at £3.20 which was huge and delicious, also a large fresh orange juice aswell. The staff are delightful, very friendly and can't do enough to help look after their customers. If you live locally in the Riddlesdown area it is a delight to visit and a 'destination cafe', can't wait to return.

Bad food. Loooong wait both for drinks and food. Waiter (owner I was told) got 2 meals wrong. Brought calamari fritti for my husband and I which he never ordered in his life and I can't stand them as they are like rubber in the UK so would never have ordered that. Waiter insisted I did, not once but 3x! My husband actually asked for whitebait! My husband ordered calf's liver as a main which is soft and succulent in France, Germany and Greec etc. It was thin and like shoe leather. It is supposed to go into a hot pan, then turned over after a few seconds and taken out of pan - served. This is what it should be like "A classic of British cooking, Calf's Liver is succulently tender and fine-grained with a deliciously mild, sweet flavour. More and more people are discovering the delicious flavour of Calf's Liver due to its place on the menus.« I took it home to give to the dog and foxes!! My friend next to me (we were 13) ordered meatballs which were so salty she couldn't eat them. Another lady didn't like how the fish was done. It was mediocre. MY mussels had anorexia. I have photos. They were non existent or if there was one in the shell, it didn't measure more than 5mm. 20 were empty and the sauce was not nice. Obvs they were not fresh mussels, they were cooked already and just heated up. Lots and lots of small broken shells in the sauce. Must have been the last dregs. Just as well I didn't swallow one of the shards. Will I go back? No, I'll go to a real Italian restaurant next time. Bragging about an Italian chef! He needs to go on a cookery course IN ITALY! I lived, ate and cooked there. I know what Italian food is supposed to taste like!!!!! And sooo expensive.

They cook the best skinless cod, away from the seaside, that can be found locally but the CHIPs!!! By the time you sit down to eat them at home, they become dry and shrivelled and there are just so many of them, that we don't have plates big enough. I recommend asking for lots of salt and vinegar in the hope the moisture sweats some plumpness into them while they are wrapped up. The Fish still wins out over the local competition, where some places are still cash only, a disgrace in this day and age.

What a difference. Just had the most lovely evening with a group of 12 people. The service was fantastic, with all orders coming out quickly and separate payments for each person. Totally went above the redirected. The portion sizes were very generous. Great brass band playing Xmas songs for a short while.
