Restaurant is well designed with plenty of seating, unfortunately either the management or the staff have no idea about customer service my wife and I have visited cafe 89 2 weeks running on the 1st occasion we were advised that they had very little to offer as they had run out of provisions at 1.30 so we left and went elsewhere on our 2nd visit trays were dirty again much of the menu was unavailable this was at 12.30 hardly late in the day with the size of premises rent and rates I don’t believe they know how to run a restaurant

What an absolute hidden gem! Found via Google by accident passing through and needing some food. Within Ducati motorbike shop the food was absolutely amazing! Clean and fresh food with perfect portions sizes and the top quality food highly recommend a trip here and the desserts are unbelievable you have to try!

Café 1989 is hidden away inside the Ducati dealership, but well worth the effort! Lucie runs an awesome restaurant from behind the ramp. From bikers’ breakfasts through café staples: panini, baguettes, jacket potatoes etc. to her amazing homemade cakes and scones. Coffees are excellent (Lavazza, obviously!) and Café 1989 does a roaring trade all day. The magic is Lucie herself here. Always smiling and a fantastic rapport with her customers, be they new or regulars. A hidden gem indeed!!

Whilst shopping in Maldon we fancied some refreshments so saw this cafe & thought we would give it a try. The staff there were very friendly & they provided us with some nice coffee & all for a very reasonable price.

This is could do a lot better for the location. To the average visitor the place seems ideal, good location, tide in or out, very pleasant views and almost captive clientele. Yet there are rough edges

Very crowded for Sunday lunch. We were party of six. We had to wait over an hour for the meal. Two of our group had beef which was uneatable as it was very tough. There was no apology for the delay: o
