Staff haven't got a clue. Took ages to take order and still got it wrong. I had chicken and my brother had steak pie which he gave up on as pastry was like trying to eat a brick, chips pale as pale can be. Tea and coffee just about OK. Don't waste your money or time.

Breakfast is amazing view of the bikes below is also fantastic and never been pressured to buy anything and the sales guys are more than happy just to chat about bikes because they love them. Everyone just really friendly and Cafe 1989 is always our number one place to go for breakfast.

Restaurant is well designed with plenty of seating, unfortunately either the management or the staff have no idea about customer service my wife and I have visited cafe 89 2 weeks running on the 1st occasion we were advised that they had very little to offer as they had run out of provisions at 1.30 so we left and went elsewhere on our 2nd visit trays were dirty again much of the menu was unavailable this was at 12.30 hardly late in the day with the size of premises rent and rates I don’t believe they know how to run a restaurant

Café 1989 is hidden away inside the Ducati dealership, but well worth the effort! Lucie runs an awesome restaurant from behind the ramp. From bikers’ breakfasts through café staples: panini, baguettes, jacket potatoes etc. to her amazing homemade cakes and scones. Coffees are excellent (Lavazza, obviously!) and Café 1989 does a roaring trade all day. The magic is Lucie herself here. Always smiling and a fantastic rapport with her customers, be they new or regulars. A hidden gem indeed!!

Whilst shopping in Maldon we fancied some refreshments so saw this cafe & thought we would give it a try. The staff there were very friendly & they provided us with some nice coffee & all for a very reasonable price.

Limited menu, service was brilliant as was my nachos, but the salsa and guacamole were poor. The burgers were not the best but The chips were good.

Looked inviting from the outside so decided to give this establishment a try. Spotless interior , big menu with many tempting options. Our coffee was spot on , just how we like it "proper coffee." Wifey had bacon, brie and cranberry panini which she said was delicious. Myself chicken , bacon and pesto sandwich with granary bread. Thick slices of gorgeous bread with a well packed filling , it was very satisfying. Very good service and highly recommend.

Visited The Queens Head last night with my fiancée to try their new carvery all you can eat roast dinner. The food was outstanding, when they say all you can eat they really mean it, and it includes meat unlike any other I’ve been too. The meat was cooked to perfection, the gammon was the best I’ve had and there was 4 meats to choose from. The chef was previously a butcher and knows how to cook and carve, it was so yummy. There was a good selection of potato’s, yorkies and veg, also all really yummy. The potatoes were crispy outside and fluffy inside and the gravy was a good thickness and also very tasty as it’s made from the meat juices. I was hesitant trying an all you can eat carvery, however this blew other roasts I have tried in Essex out the water. It was as good as an expensive roast that you would find in a bistro pub. My fiancée and I are making our way round local pubs trying their roast dinners and this flew straight to the top of our list! Also - the homemade icecream is outstanding and i’d urge that people try it. It’s really creamy and they have lots of options. Thank you for a lovely dinner!

We nipped in yesterday but even though they were just about to close (it was 4pm and we hadn't realised) they still took our order and served us. We had three lovely waffles. Really welcoming service and so grateful that they stayed open for us as the kids really enjoyed it. Lovely little place as well.
