Whilst shopping in the store we had coffee and a sandwich in a nice relaxing lounge, good choice of meals and cakes available. Clean and tidy and friendly staff. Unfortunately there were hardly any other customers here. Sadly this House of Fraser department store is closing down late September, I’m sure previous customers will have fond memories of this cafe and remember the days when it was really busy!

Visited this afternoon (Tuesday 31st July) for lunch and coffee by myself. I won't make this a long one, I'd just like to thank the lady who served me; tall slim blonde lady, possibly wearing glasses but I can't remember properly. Due to personal circumstances I ended up being very upset and the lady was warm and friendly, and even came up to the table and asked if I'd like another cup of coffee. In a fast paced world where we are all busy doing our thing, I found her conscientiousness and warmth refreshing and I'd just like her to know I was grateful for her kindness (and the coffee). I hope she is recognised by her employers as exceptional and going beyond the call of duty. Thank you

I popped in as we were shopping in the House of Fraser and I was really happily surprised. So many of the cafes round here are just chains like Nero and Costa and they are really noisy and cramped. This place was huge and light with tables nicely spread out. Food was basic but cheap and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. I’d like there to have been more vegan/Veggy options but the staff were really accommodating with what they could do. Would def return it’s perfect place for a meet up due to space available. Could do with a little TLC in places but couldn’t we all!

Dos veces mientras compras llamado en un período de 2 mes. Agradable con un personal muy amable y un impecable Café feliz. Recambios de café eran solo 99 p y café y una tarta de 3 libras. 99, a un precio muy razonable.

We have used this restaurant a number of times recently, and the same things stand out each time. 1 The staff are wonderful; polite, attentive and friendly 2 the food - though somewhat limited in choice - is cooked well 3 if you ask for something not on the menu, staff will do their best to create it; so far, met every requirement we asked of them The place could do with some attention to the fabric. Well worth going for something more relaxing.

We visited this cafe as we fancied a change and as we were in the House of Fraser shopping we decided to have some lunch,it's a large place with an airy feel,we chose sandwiches and cake, the staff are so lovely and friendly, that kind of "old school " service that makes you feel very welcome, the food was ok the best part was the cheesecake, which was light and fluffy, the only thing that let the cafe down was the tired and in places run down decor,we chose to sit in the window seat looking down at the street and it was particularly bad there which was a shame as it has the potential to wonderful

The staff are so helpful here and always help me with my tray as I have a baby. This sadly only happens rarely anywhere else! The place is clean and air conditioned. The food is similar everytime I go and is alittle over priced but its fresh food and spacious seating. The cakes arent great but toasties and hot meals are great. A wide variety of tea and coffee 😃

Old Beatties restaurant. What a lovely spacious place for a value for money breakfast. £3.99 for 6 items with free toast doesn't sound much but when it's on the plate it's just enough. They do a larger breakfast for £4.99 for 8 items, bit too big for me but my husband enjoyed this one 😋 Reasonable priced drinks decent sized too, this place is a little gem in Birkenhead, we will have try the tasty looking toasties they make for lunch time , some of the cakes looked amazing and the homemade scones were huge !!

Located on the upper floor of the former Beatties in Birkenhead. View from the windows good, comfortable and airy seating area. However, the cakes were artificial tasting and we think had been frozen and defrosted more than once. Looking around, most people had gone for pastries which may have been fresher. Partner had a fish and chips, which was simultaneously greasy and stodgy. I ordered a baked potato which took so long to arrive my partner had finished his meal. Some warning would have been nice as I would have picked something else.. And then it was pretty disappointing, poor quality tuna topping, and as it cost more than the fish and chips, should have been far better. The staff were pleasant enough, but managed to look harassed even though they weren't that busy, and were stumped when I asked the price difference between a large and small draft soft drink. Location should make this a cash cow, but poor quality overpriced food means you're better off in a decent caff on the market than here, sadly.

We found this little gem as we walked along the street. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, and had very nice staff. we both had a light lunch which was very good and the coffee excellent - piping hot and just as we like it. It is also dog friendly and had a corner with plenty of things to amuse the children. We really enjoyed our visit,

Used to go here a lot and the last two time we have been they now fill the salad boxes half full when you are paying just under £4. I also pay extra for pasta and you get around 6 pieces. Won’t be going back anymore as it’s not worth the money, when there are other places so close by.

What can I say except sublime! The cakes where fantastic. There was plenty, but not too much, chocolate and the choice inspired (the six of us all had a different favourite). It’s not just the food though, the building is gorgeous and the dining room is a very special place to have an afternoon tea.

Currently on a miserable no caffeine and limited sugar diet for medical reasons, treated myself to an iced decaf cappuccino and found 20 mins later when I sat down to drink it that it was topped with a ridiculously thick layer of sweet cream. What a waste of money and time waiting
