We had afternoon tea. Marvellous! Best afternoon tea we have had. The staff were great and couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend!!

We had an afternoon tea with our friends and the comment was, "... as good, if not better, than an afternoon tea at the Savoy!" Beautifully presented on mini picnic benches, all homemade and enough quantity wise to warrant taking two doggie bags home. Superb!!!

Café Willow is a small café attached to the Hillier Garden center. A good selection of cakes were available, but my cappuccino was served too hot and too weak. The prolific number of signs, stickers on the floor, barriers etc whilst helping to make the café covid safe, when coupled with the quite stark / minimalistic decorations, did not make the café feel welcoming or relaxing.

We arrived on a Sunday jaunt after the cafe opened. You would assume that it would have been cleaned either the evening before or early before opening. Dirty floor, tables and visible dust on the radiator. The Cobb roll was very dry and the sausage was small and burnt. Rude counter staff who didn’t want to be there. I won’t be going back!

This is a lovely little cafe - food is excelent and staff very attentive with good service and extremley clean. The main problem we have is that we can't normally make it untill 1 o'clock or very closely after that, by this time it appears that lunch is over and we have never been able to get a meal. We couldn't even get a ploughmans lunch a few weeks ago so usually have just a toastie, scones are exceptional and good quality. The last time we came our cups and plates were whisked away almost immediatley after we finished. I wonder if they would get more custom if they extend the lunch period.

3 sandwiches, two waters, one coffee for £26. Highly over- priced. Avoid and go up the road to Little Gaddesden.

This is a small café but it is trying to expand its appeal by serving roast dinners on a Sunday and cater for special occasions, such as Mother's Day. The coffee is good. The cakes are good and the staff are obliging.

This is a small café attached to Hillier Garden Centre and provides a welcome break from the shopping. It serves drinks, cakes, snacks and light meals. Service can be slow sometimes, especially if there is only one person serving. The meals are good, but maybe a little pricey for what's on offer.

The fish and chips are not worth much, the other dishes are good enough. The place is very beautiful and relaxing on a good day. You have to go and order inside the pub and it's a bit of a hike

Chicken parm is horrid, chicken is dry and bland, pasta portion is smaller than a child’s meal, neither of which is stated in the description, the sauce is average at best, nothing special, and the service here is slow.

Food was lovely. Service was amazing, staff were all polite and professional. It was definitely a nice place to dine out of the city

Very poor experience at this pub last week with our assistance dog. We booked a table for 3 for a business meeting and phoned the pub in advance that we were bringing an assistance dog. They placed us on a table that had a very busy walkway next to it, not major problem until the dog got stepped on by a guest who was being shown to his seat by the manager, no major issue we moved to a quieter table. Later in the meal a jack Russel dog who was off lead inside the pub/restaurant area kept coming over to annoy my assistance dog, we politely asked our waiter to ask find the owner (who was not present with the dog) and ask him to collect his dog and keep it on a lead, she said "I will try" This did not work and the dog kept pestering us leaving us to have an awful experience. Turns out this man and his dog are in this pub often and he never has it on lead and it seams the staff are scared of him, they didn't even ask the doorman to ask him to lead his dog or leave. The pub has a policy that dogs are welcome but must be on lead, the manager was not aware of this policy until i told her. They did give us a partial refund and an apology but i feel for a pub/restaurant of this quality from this chain they should be doing better. The man waited outside the pub for us late at night (9pm-10pm) and when we left he gave myself and my 2 young female guests verbal abuse and was very threatening not good enough all round.
