Cafe Wander in Glasgow City

I went here for a sandwich for lunch to take away. I didn’t have a good experience on a previous occasion, but I decided to give it another try and I wish I hadn’t bothered. I ordered a sandwich and a piece of cake and the person that served me charged me £9.25. I asked the person not to bother with the cake as it was far too expensive. A man behind the counter said “Give the lady the cake” and charged me £7.25. He was extremely pushy and I ended up with cake I didn’t want. I didn’t want to create a scene in the place, so I left. I went back to my office to have lunch. The sandwich was awful. The bread was hard, a small slice of cheese and two slices of tomato which had seen better days. The cake was hard around the edges. As this was the second time I had visited with not very pleasant results, I will not be back. It’s far too expensive for what you get.

We came here before Covid on a cheeky weekend in Glasgow and stumbled across it. On our recent ( last week ) visit we just couldn't remember where is was and then found it on our last day :) Hooray!! .... with a very poor experience of Drouthys the day before we had high expectations of this place and it really didn't disappoint. It was just as good as the last time and the comparison to the day before was stark. The service was super friendly and the food was beautifully cooked and presented, this was a great experience and restored our faith in great Scottish breakfasts.

Wonderful little cafe in the centre of Glasgow. We went for breakfast which is currently served right up until 14:00. Great food, very reasonably priced, and amazing service - what more could you ask for. A fantastic start to the morning.

Fabulous wee cafe in the heart of Glasgow. We opted for the full Scottish and Veggie breakfast which did not disappoint. The cafe was busy and had a nice atmosphere. Staff were lovely. Will return when we are next in Glasgow

Me and my partner went here for a wee bit to eat. Had the most amazing breakfast fry and gingerbread coffee. The staff are so friendly and the deserts/buns thats available will blow ur mind. They are massive and totally delicious.

Every time I visit Glasgow this has to be the place for breakfast. Apart from regular breakfast menus to cater for veggies and vegans they offer a breakfast Burrito which is to die for. Both coffee and tea selection and quality is good too.

I'm a semi-regular customer. Been coming here for a while and I'm never disappointed. Great place for a breakfast, good ingredients and always nice and hot. You get your choice of eggs and toast which is nice, and the prices are very reasonable for being in the heart of the city. The cafe and toilets are always nice and clean. Staff are always pleasant as well. Great place to come for breakfast, 2 minute walk from Queen Street station.

Underwhelming. Cappuccino wasnt very strong but was a nice temp. Ordered two breakfasts, the haggis was soggy with oil it seemed, lorne sausage over cooked, bacon over cooked, didn't taste great. The toast and the scrambled egg was fine. Uninspiring interior and 8.95 for a breakfast was a lot for what it was. But, it seemed to be the only place to get a breakfast in the middle of Glasgow.

Outstanding cafe - once we found it! Bit hidden down the steps. Managed to luckily get the last available table. 2 superb full Scottish Breakfasts. Set us up for the day. Good coffee too. Lovely staff. A gem.

Came here after looking at tripadvisor reviews and we weren’t disappointed. This is a proper cafe with a friendly atmosphere. Staff were lovely and service prompt. We both enjoyed the food we had which was the French toast and a Scottish breakfast and would definitely come again.

Proper breakfast. Full Scottish with lorne sausage, haggis, black pudding, potato scone the works. Tea served in a proper teapot with tea leaves. Staff smashing, all just a great find.

I chose to have breakfast here after reading that they served Lorne sausage (Lorne sausage seems to be very hard to find!) The cafe is down a small flight of steps into a basement so it is easy to miss from the street. The staff were friendly and the prices were good. it cost me less than £5 for the Lorne sausage in the bread roll and a mug of tea. The sandwich was divine! I will definitely return when I'm in Glasgow again.
