We came upon this wee cafe as we wandered along Byres Road. Not many tables but an enjoyable cuppa watching the hustle and bustle of a busy street and pavement. The cafe is part of of a Waterstones Book Shop and only boasts a few tables plus limited seating outside. There was not a huge range of snacking options but service was quick and friendly, prices were reasonable and we enjoyed our visit. Only negative, a 'shoogly table' but this a fairly common feature wherever you go

Small but great food for the price and not what you would expect. It is basic but has a strange quirky feel. This is not 1 of a million of the same and is clearly run by a girl who over to serve simple basic but v tasty coffee and sandwiches. We need more places like this. Not ripping people off and people that care. People who like great blue and honest food will live this place

Away from the hustle and bustle of Byres Road sits Waterstones - a short walk from Botanic Gardens and across from the subway. They serve good coffee, and a limited range of cakes but very pleasant and staff always very friendly and polite. I never feel rushed, just a good spot to stop and sit watching the world go by, oh and they have a loyalty card 😉

Defy anyone to find more pleasant, more helpful staff anywhere. Small space but it’s a refuge and haven in these dark days.

Incredible coffee, lovely lovely staff. Nicest people in west end. Such a welcome relief from usual west end cafe staff. Pleasant, helpful and kind

A compact space but a good choice of hot drinks, sandwiches and sweets - and great staff. Dog-friendly. One can see people sitting there for a couple of hours to work but most times of the day is really busy.

I met a friend here for coffee and some very nice cake. We sat at a table outside and were not rushed and were able to sit for as long as we liked. Staff very nice. Coffee and carrot cake recommended.

I regularly pop into Waterstones on byres road for a browse and sometimes to purchase. I visited their lovely cafe today for the first time. The staff are very nice. We decided to have the soup of the day which was mushroom. I love mushroom soup but am sorry to stay that it was a bowl of tasteless water, as well as being tiny baby portions. So very very disappointing ...I won’t left this put me off going in because it’s such a lovely venue with lovely big windows to watch the day go by....

We use Café W as a good meeting point when over in Glasgow as halfway between the University and our student daughter's flat. It may be a small cafe, but is perfectly formed with a good coffee and a nice selection of cakes, including the ubiquitous Tunnock's range. Being at the front of the Waterstone's Bookshop, it is also a good excuse to go for a browse amongst the books, rather than people watching over Byers Road.

Nice enough place, good offer and good standard of the normal stuff. Love books, probably would recommend new Sauchiehall branch though, massive offer & they've obviously spent monies and two good cafes.

Really nice bookshop with small cafe. Good selection of cakes and tragedies to go along with fresh coffee. I had a freshly made sandwich and tea for a quick brunch nicely served and not expensive.

Found the books I was looking for and much more. Very friendly staff and good advice on what to read. Had tea in the small sitting area but did not try the snacks. Great place to chill!

I found this a wonderfully intimate bookshop for a Waterstones - seemed to be more comments and although small, had a nice feel to it. Café was nice, small and perhaps a little detached - but a nice combination. Wish it was somewhere I could make home.

A few tables beside the tills in what is a somewhat cramped branch of Waterstones. Gets an extra point because it is a bookshop and bookshops should be a high street essential. Slight problem is that Waterstone's coffee blend isn't very good but if you...

Great coffee, great surroundings, friendly efficient staff and pleasant but unobtrusive light jazz background music. Great soup, sandwiches and scones. Oh, and it's also a proper bookshop. What more can you need?

The cafe area is small but adequate. My pastrami sandwich was very good, my coffee was good, the service was good. The staff are so good they donate their tips to charity. That 's really good.

Easily the best coffee in Glasgow. Actually, the best, most coffee-y coffee I've ever had. My partner is a coffee aficionado and we are always on a mission to get a great cup of coffee on our travels and at home, and this is a place we can heartily recommend.

We had a set menu and everything we ate was delicious. Good alcoholic and non alcoholic options. A must is getting some of the snacks with your meal. Beautiful restaurant to sit in and staff helpful with dietary requirements. We will be back to experience the full menu.
