No pienso volver.

Alas this place after a promising beginning went down the plug hole. The website and pictures should be taken off as there is nothing left of the goodies. Not even one star is good enough for this place The service is appalling only the apple strudel still remains, valiantly made by Rudi the wonderful pastry chef who no longer produces anything else there. I hope his talents will be appreciated elsewhere.

I had planned a Visit to this Cafe for 1 month due to my love of Vienna. I checked online and it stated it was open 9am so I trecked down just after 11:35am on a Saturday (yesterday). It still wasn't open so I went to visit nearby V&A Museum before heading back when I arrived I was able to walk in but was told by a man we are closed I was somewhat confused when he said come back after Monday I told him I was visiting for the day and He said they would be open later for the next 3 days. I asked him what time he just said later. I found him very rude and unhelpful. Kind of glad the cafe lived up to the numerous bad reviews but this cafe should have had a sign up as I cannot help but think this man was just not ready to serve as milk and delivery was still sat out the front after 10:40am in the morning when we drove past. I am glad I chose another Vienese restaurant in Marlybone Hight Street with very friendly and accommodating staff and the food was lovely. Personally speaking as someone who has visited Vienna on many occassions Cafe Vienna really puts shame to that name and is not worthy. I certainly will be writing a brutal and honest review about this place. I have never experience a bad experience anywhere but here they are just not worthy of your money so I personally think you should shop around for alternative Vienese restaurants.

I can only assume that Vienna cafe is under new ownership. Gone are the friendly and attentive staff from the past. Gone too, are most of the traditional items from their menu. Well, they are still on the menu, however, you cannot get them. Pretty much everything we asked for was not available, but clearly listed on the menu presented to us at our table. Gone is probably the best vegetable soup I have ever eaten, gone is the apple strudel and vanilla ice cream, gone is the ham and cheese croissants...The sandwiches that we settled for were very good, but not exactly we wanted. Service was good. But the "new" Vienna Cafe should consider either updating their menu to reflect items that are actually available to their patrons. Do not waste your time or money at Vienna Cafe.

(MY HUSBAND WROTE THIS ON BEHALF OF BOTH OF US.)In 15/9/2015 my wife and I have visited the “new” Café Vienna. If you imagine green fields with beautiful mountains and amazing chocolate Sacher-torte that capture your heart, think again. If you think that you have a sense of good taste and like cakes, Do NOT EVER go to this café! EVER! And the reasons are:1. After entering the Café a waiter of Tunisian origin has greeted us with very poor English from behind the counter. I would expect an Austrian, German or at least a European person to be instead of him and represent the café called Vienna (at the end their site which is obviously old and left from previous owners, it says “authentic” Vienna café). 2. We were alone in the shop with very dark /gray atmosphere and hip hop music was playing in the background (again, not very “authentic” Viennese atmosphere).3. After choosing the cakes a second waiter shouted to my wife from behind the counter, as if he was selling hotdogs on the street somewhere: “Hey, like some crème with the cake?” Later this man, again with very poor English and also of a Tunisian origin, introduced himself as the owner/son of the owner.4. The Sacher-Torte and Apple-Strudel were low class cakes that tasted as if they were few days old. Anyone with a European family that bakes cakes MUST have tasted better cakes in his life.5. An American girl that entered the café, was already about to take a seat but ran away after seeing the price list, we were again alone in the cafe. Few more people looked inside but when they saw the staff and interior they turned away.6. The young owner of the shop kept trying to flirt with my wife.7. The café next door was packed with people. It had great lightning, unlike the cave next door which we were in, the music was soothing and we also noticed that the American girl was sitting in.8. Prices displayed nowhere to be seen, no menus unlike the Café next door.9. After my wife and I have arrived home we search the internet and found out that the café was sold to Middle Eastern Group in April 2015. But they kept the old site with old pictures of staff, interior, cakes… That was amazing and we are really disappointed we could not be there before April 2015. AVOID!!!!

We love Vienna so when we saw this cafe we just had to go in!We had sachertorte and apfel strudel with ice cream, a coffee and a hot chocolate. The cakes were nice enough but the chocolate was just Cadbury instant and the ice cream was Walls and tasted refrozen. The cost was £18 which seemed a lot. The Delaunay does the Viennese cafe much better I think.

Unfortunately putting tons of sugar, butter and cream and putting the price high, does not make a cake Austrian. My partner and I stopped at Cafe Vienna for an Austrian High Tea after a busy day spent walking around London and had a very enjoyable experience here. The cafe is quaint and cosy with very attentive staff (our server even checked to see if we had any food allergies) and a high tea that is perfectly sized for an afternoon snack stop to refuel ones engines. We were presented with a two tiered tray where we had a selection of four bruschetta-type open sandwiches with a variety of toppings on the bottom tier and a selection of delicious sweet treats on the top tier- the sacher torte was my favourite. We were also offered a glass of Austrian Sekt to accompany our high tea which went down really well. The shop itself smelled delicious and they had a wide variety of sweet treats in their displays which all looked amazing. My only criticism is that the bathroom is unisex with only one stall which I think is a bit awkward. We will definitely visit here again though as we had a wonderful experience.

Four of us stopped here for a light snack just after lunchtime. The menu wasn't extensive (apart from the good range of sweets) and leaned heavily on Austrian/Hungarian food which provided an interesting alternative to "normal" cafes.. Although the sandwiches were quite small, they were very tasty and the bread roll was delicious as was the coffee. I thought the price was quire reasonable too, given the cafe's location.

Wonderful food, but was very shocked to see foie gras on the menu. The production of this "food" is very cruel (force-feeding the bird till the liver becomes diseased) and is actually illegal in this country. The restaurant should take it off the menu! Bread was delicious but sandwiches sooo tiny. The cakes were even smaller. I've been to lots of afternoon teas and for the first time I left hungry. Also, there was not enough tea. We just got one cup and that was it. It was all a little bit disorganised. I wouldn't go there again, unless to buu cakes, which unfortunately are not part of the afternoon tea. We were delighted to find this new cafe near our hotel when we were in London last Spring and we were even more delighted during our Christmas visit to learn that the quality has continued. We enjoyed several meals there and look forward to returning, There are many items to recommend, such as the beef goulasch with spaetzle, goulasch soup, vegetable soup, speck dumplings on sauerkraut, any of the yummy pastries, excellent coffee, and sparkling Gruner Veltliner. The room is tiny, but charmingly designed with clean modern lines and touches of the Old World with Klimt reproductions and dark wood counters. Even the white china with the logo is lovely. Not the place for a long lingering dinner, this is a super stop for a good breakfast, lunch, tea, or a sweet and coffee. Everything is well-planned to offer a respite from the bustle outside on Brompton Road. The wait staff is cordial, welcoming, and efficient. Prices are reasonable and there is a wide selection of food, especially for so small a place. The only small fly in the ointment is that the manager typically wears a sweatshirt or bulky sweater with an untucked shirt and looks out of place beside the crisp young women. To keep the elegant tone, surely a plain white dress shirt neatly tucked in would be more appropriate. (This is a tiny point and it may not bother anyone else at all. I also hasten to add that the manager is quite welcoming and accommodating,) This cafe is a real winner and we recommend it highly.

It is a gem of a little place, for seating for approx. 16 or so inside and two tables for two just outside. We tried many of the cake slices, but will say right now that the Sacher Torte is a real winner here. It is as close to the real authentic Sacher Torte from Hotel Sacher in Vienna as can be. Perfectly dense and beautiful layer of Apricot preserve. The pastry chef as we found out, is from Austria, so he knows what he is doing!!! I also enjoyed the Goulash soup on one of our visits and it was so well done and the beef was braised beautifully. Of the other cake slices we tried the other one that was as close to the real thing was the Linzer Torte. Thank you for bringing "Austria" to London!!!

We came here for breakfast and the food was very good. They serve authentic Austrian pastry, cakes and good coffee. The owner is an Austrian guy and the eastern European waiters are friendly and efficient. All was good but not outstanding.

As an Austrian I adore Austrian cuisine, but the food at this cafe was appalling. The Frittatensuppe (Austrian Pancake soup) was inedible and came at the same time as the main course. The chicken salad was just average and the Debreziner (Austrian Sausage) were too. The prizes are quite high for what you get, so save your money and eat at one of the many nice restaurants in the area.

Pequeño y chic. Tomamos 2 Apperol Spritz (no fácil en Londres) y seguimos de paseo. Buena atención y precios bajos.

We stumbled upon Café Vienna whilst looking for a nice looking place to enjoy a sandwich. We were offered the last table available and the staff promptly attended to our needs with menus and drinks. One of the staff (or probably the owner) came over to explain that they’d just opened and they hadn’t got their card machine in time – no problem! Our baguettes were delivered in good time and were delicious. The location is in an ideal spot for footfall, but there didn’t seem to be many tables – let’s hope that they can cope.We wish them all the best for the future - they deserve to succeed.

Poor food, poor service, pretty bad experience and high price. Don’t go.

Food is tasty. But they have the weirdest booking system where you need to confirm their confirmation email. We thought we had a table but turned out no. We then sat at a small table and the service was very rushed as they wanted to free up the table asap. They forgot one of our sides and then brought it when we finished. They need more staff to cope with the busy times.

The food was good. Portion size was good. I would suggest go early in the day. That’s when there’s more options, some food would be sold out. Mac and cheese is good. If it’s later on day, potato is a bit dry.

This might not be the cheapest felafel in London, but it is certainly among the best.
