I absolutely love cafe vegu. I have been a number of times and every dish I have tried has been delicious. Their menu is extensive and changes frequently. The hot dishes are generous portions and all super tasty, and the cakes are lovely too. Only downside is that it’s quite small so it can be hard to get a table however the wait is worth it! Staff are all really friendly and accommodating and service is fast.

Probably the best coffee I’ve ever had - Black Sesame Latte - amazing, memorable in the best way. Oozy warm mushroom sandwich with spicy slaw - satisfyingly delicious and a generous plateful. Enjoyed the music choice too (indie along the lines Metronomy / Lamb Chop / Eels). Airy & comfortable seating, WiFi. Enjoyed leafing through the stack of Korean vegan recipe books and food magazines. And the freshly made Korean cakes and savoury buns are great. Post-pandemic Lewes streets look a bit bleak - which makes Vegu all-the-more special and worth coming into Lewes for. Lovely.

Brunch for 2 adults and 2 children. We all love Asian food. We each had 4 different dishes. 3 rice dishes and 1 ramen. All 4 dishes were super delicious and fresh. The chilli tofu udon ramen was one of the best I’ve ever had. Despite being very busy during the holidays the service was still quick and friendly. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

A good spot on the high street near to the bus stop and other things, a good amount of space for individuals or groups to have more than coffee, or just something to drink. Have been a few times over the past few months and hopefully would be coming back to this soon.

Friend and I stopped here for a delicious lunch (neither of us is vegan though the menu is). It's oriented towards Asian - Korean light lunch items such as soups, veg on toast, baguettes and brunch options eg bibimbap. She had a noodle soup and I had mushrooms and crushed peas on sour dough. Absolutely delicious and definitely freshly made. There's a selection of teas, juices and smoothies. All good value. Served in light airy premises with a contemporary feel. Would definitely visit again. Worth making a detour for. It's on the high street.

The table service is efficient, matter of fact and punctual but not warm, welcoming and friendly. The menu is extensive and the food is good with good portion sizes for an all you can eat venue. The restaurant is not particularly well themed one half being modern and the other a mock Jocobean experience. Annoyingly when you order more than one set of starters from the menu you keep the same used plate. Previously I went to eat here and had to leave before ordering as it was so cold in the restaurant, but the heating is rarely on or is not working as there was a gas bottle type heater in use, I think they rely on the number of occupants dining and their body heat to heat the dining area. They win the award for the most expensive bottle of beer I have ever purchased at £9.60 a bottle! Same size at Sainsburys £2.55!
