Alway excellent service and great value for money. This is a firm favourite of ours 😀

Although buffet style food. Ordered and it will be delivered for a fixed fee. Only one plate (2 pieces) of pandai kai served for a table of 2 people. And only one aromatic duck for two. We can't order more! So, although its meant to be 'Eat as much as you can', some food is restricted. Secondly, half the menu is starters. And most if not all is battered. Heavy crisp batter neither healthy nor tasty. Main meal was better when ordered. It wasn't like this. Over the years and decades prices have doubled but quality of food (mainly starters) is no good. On top of that, there is an additional service charge of 10% without my asking or permission. I'm not sure I want to go again. Too pricey and food is not as good and restricted. Sorry.

Fantastic staff friendly and helpful food amazing

Hadn't been for a years and was hoping the quality and service was good, we were not disappointed, for a all you can eat buffet, friendly service and the food tasted great, hot and fresh, loads of veggie and vegan options alongside all the meat and fish dishes, will definitely return

We picked up a take away menu and wanted to eat in thus booked a table. On the menu it mentions "all you can eat" but not clear eat in option is ONLY all you can eat. When calling in to book a table the "all you can eat" is not mentioned hence didn't know otherwise. So, my husband booked the table with a friend for my birthday. I have a gastric band (not thier fault) so i eat less than a toddler portions. I asked if i can have a childs portion and was told no. I offered for them to check the amount i was ordering and they stood fast on the no. So i said no i would go without rather than paying for what i knew i couldnt eat nor would they allow a doggy bag for me to eat a bit more later. We was made to feel awkward with them watching everything we did to make sure I didn't "steal" any food from my friends / husbands plate. Now, it gets better - my husband left a review mentioning the above and the answer from the restaurant on trip advisor... "you should of asked if an all you can eat" My answer to this... We didn't know they only did all you can eat and i have never known a restaurant to only do an all you can eat when not advised at time of booking... As it was your wife's birthday you should of just paid for it... My answer to this... I was the one who declined to eat (he was offering to pay full price) and what an incredibly rude thing to say!!! So all in all my review is to tell management... Your staff make customers feel awkward when we still spent over £80. Staff should mention it's an all can eat only when eating in. Management should accept feedback with grace and not accuse customers. It's a shame as we have orderd delivery and the food is decent but now we will spend our money elsewhere

Unwelcoming service. Outrageous price (£8.50!!) for a bottle of 660ml beer. As an Asian, I’ll have to say the foods are below average. Thai curry kit that you can get it from a supermarket is better than the red Thai curry we had. We wouldn’t recommend

Nine of us had a great time at Thai 2 last night. Full marks for the food, service, staff and atmosphere. We were looked after really well and thoroughly enjoyed all the fabulous dishes. The food was hot, the place clean and had a relaxed feel to it. Looking forward to returning for another treat. Well done to all who work there. I don't usually do reviews but this deserved to be put out there!!

Thank you for a brilliant time. My friends and I got together for a joint Birthday lunch. We had a great time. The staff here are always polite and helpfull and as a disabled person, they accommodated me and my disability without even having to ask. Thank you so much for making me feel included and not a hindrance.

Another fantastic dining experience. Been going there for maybe 25 years but rarely make it past starters soup and desert. Might have to just select mains next time.

Just dropped in and had a very pleasant experience with very flavorful food a big variety to choose from everything fresh made from the kitchen and brought over by very friendly staff which are always somewhere nearby if you need anything Very clean and a pleasant atmosphere Had to get some curry to take home as the little one requested it

The restaurant have an 'all you can eat' menu. They then make every item and cheap and measly as possible. Virtually empty wontons. Watered down soy sauce. No spice. Green curry make with cornflour instead of coconut milk and two miniscule pieces of chicken. Tempura prawns in about half a centimeter of heavy coating. I have had better in terrible pubs in the 1980s. The table was sticky, the prawn crackers are left out and although clingfilmed, they are slightly. It was absolutely diabolical.

Have been to Thai elephant many many times over the years, always absolutely loved it and the fact that it’s all you can eat is a great way to try new foods! However this time I was served RAW chicken twice! First time was in one of those leaves, as soon as I bit in to the chicken I knew, I immediately spat it out. I showed a waitress who apologised and took it away. Thinking it was probably a one off I had some satay chicken obviously still wary I pulled it apart first and it was pink inside. I again showed the waitress who told me it was the flavouring they put on it….. now I know the difference between raw meat and flavoured meat and this was definitely raw. I explained that I felt that this had ruined the meal and that I didn’t want to eat any more….. we were on starters! Hadn’t even got to the mains! I asked to speak to the manager who I was told was “To busy” and I was asked what I wanted done. I explained politely that I wouldn’t be paying in full and the most I would be happy to pay is half. This was accepted but I am extremely disappointed that there was no apology from management and that they didn’t even acknowledge by speaking to us. I only managed to get one picture as the waitress took the first piece away that was much worse very quickly.

Very welcoming staff. Excellent choice of dishes cooked to order. All arrived hot and fresh. I would definitely dine here again.

The food was not too bad , Fried food was so heavy and greasy but other than that the food is tasty and rich in flavour 😍😍, too many options but still taste the same , it’s good to try

We have been to this restaurant many times over the years. I just am left feeling quite deflated about the service and the food. From the initial welcome of ‘yes’ to the rather uninspiring offering of dry food to at did not seem to be freshly made. The egg fried rice was even a little burned. I think many things can be forgiven, if the service is more friendly. The place is not really value for money, unless you intend on eating A LOT. In summary we won’t go back.

Did not inform us it was £25 per head "all you can eat" when we booked the table resulting in the "birthday girl" eating nothing due to her gastric band (which she can evidence) meaning she can only eat a tiny amount of food. Refused to sell her a child portion or individual dishes (despite individual dishes being available on the take away menu). Very limited choice of Thai food considering its a Thai restaurant. Lots of Chinese food on the menu Very disappointing experience.

Absolutely brilliant, love this place, personally I find the staff charming, speedy service and delicious food. The Thai Elephant is a excellent local venue.

We had a lovely evening. Very clean, atmosphere great, all the staff were helpful and efficient, food was fast but amazing quality, buffet prices but restaurant quality, love the numbered menu really easy to order. Really great if your unsure of which asain food you like, its lovely to order lots of little bits for the table to try. I honestly loved this place will be back again soon

Just ate here again this evening and tried some different dishes such as Ajak from their extensive menu. Absolutely love dining here and have done regularly for over ten years with various family and friends. Eric and all of the staff provide exceptional customer service; they are attentive, polite and professional. The food is delicious and freshly cooked. Highly recommend on all levels and really hope to support this local business for many years to come.

Authentic food in a nice setting with friendly staff

We went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Everything was wonderful. Our waiter Sean, was extremely helpful, helping us with choices and suggesting dishes that would complement each other etc. We all agreed that the food was the best Asian food we have had in the UK. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and hot. Served promptly and with a smile. We ‘somehow’ managed to fit in dessert and they brought out the Temurpura ice cream with a candle in it, singing Happy Birthday. We will definitely be back!

I love this place and have been coming here for years to celebrate family events. The food is lovely and plentiful, we ate so much that we could hardly move and that was just the starters ! Very polite and helpful staff. Good value for money and a variety of dishes. The restaurant has had a makeover with new carpet and newly decorated walls. I would highly recommend.

Been many times over the years, always very good food, served fresh and fast to the table as much as you can eat - so many dishes to choose from, have never left unsatisfied.

We have been here before and it’s never failed us, this time we brought a friend. We wasn’t impressed the food service was slow but they was quick to offer replacement drinks. Understandably this is likely how an all you can eat restaurant makes its money. We was after another round of food but the waiting collected our plates and brought the bill round and then it took them a further 20 mins before they came around to collect payment. Overall wasn't impressed

Visited with family just before New Year. 4 young children and it's become a bit of a tradition every year. The staff are excellent and the food is great!

I am an Asian who had a very bad experience served by two of the staffs. When I entered the restaurant, a male staff walked towards me and I let him know clearly I already placed the order by phone. However, he went to do other tasks and asked me to wait (but later I know that I just need to pay and take the food immediately at the cashier where another staff is there). After waiting for about 3 minutes, a female staff came. Although she saw I was standing inner than another local man, she chose to serve him without clarification. Luckily that local man is a gentleman and he showed the female staff I was the one who arrived first. The only staff (perhaps is the owner) giving some respect to me is the one who received payment.

Been going for years, the starters are fab and good variety. Don't move onto a main until you try all the starters you want. No doubt due to people taking the Mickey, there is a 2 hour time, more than enough time for most. Highly recommended

I have been to this place multiple times and had no issues at all. However tonight was absolutely disgraceful. Me and my family went for a birthday dinner here, food was great but on multiple occasions we had to wait for food even when other food we had ordered was out. So as you can imagine we had people waiting for their food whilst others were enjoying their meal. We reminded the staff that we had yet to receive our food and was told “It’s on its way” then another 15-20 mins passed and was still waiting had to remind them again and then we finally received the food. Finally, our bill came they were asking for a £40 service charge! We asked if we could change this and give individual tips which the staff responded with “no we can’t change it”. One of my family members had politely asked at the counter the same thing in which one of the staff rudely said “well only if it’s 10% of the charge, if not don’t bother”. We were then constantly receiving dirty looks whilst sorting money to pay off the bill. And as we were leaving one of the staff said to us “Bye for the last time”. I think the staff are out of order and very unprofessional and not polite at all. Will not be returning again.

My family have been going there for over 17 years and it's has been going down hill for a long time. Tonight they had put £37 service charge on our bill so we asked nicely if they could take it off so we can all give our individual tips and we got told if we give less than 10% don't bother leaving a tip really rudely. Finally as we left we got told to never come back. They have had thousands of pounds off of my family over the years, I Really cannot believe how rude they where.

Normally come to this place quite often . I won’t be coming back here again as staff was very rude and service was very poor . I have a kid who had to wait a long time for her food which I especially wasn’t Impressed with . Disappointed.

Been here a few times now food is always good but tonight came for a birthday meal there was 10 off us all started fine. While some dishes came out we were waiting some time for the other dishes to arrivel by the time they did the other food was food to have with it but this wasn't much off a issue the issue is the staff. Are bill came to over £200 and there was a £40 service charge. We asked if we can remove it and provided are own tips individually as we have done before. The first answer we got was no we like to keep it on there. my partner went to the bar and asked politely can we take the service charge off to which they did but then the guy behind the bar responded with 'in less it's more than 10% then don't bother leaving anything' we were quite shocked by his reply so no in the end we didn't leave anything once we gave over the cash for are food we were getting dirty looks by the staff and when we were leaving the guy behind the bar said see you for the last time Will not be coming back ever again discussing behavior AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE RESPONSE BELOW we have a reply but with false information as we asked multiple times were are dishes where and you have clearly just shown how rude and disrespectful you guys are Within that reply we never refused to pay the service charge we just wanted to pay are own as I quote above would have come to more as we always have done Everytime we have visited in the past

Great food, Love the Crispy Duck!

The all you can eat option is ridiculous! I've tried twice because there was a set of food (starter or pad thai) that I would fancy but I gotta pay £26 to eat that. Its so stupid and never seen anything so ridiculous in my life, no wonder it's empty.

Food is OK, don't over order on the starters as you won't get mains if you don't eat it all and don't let one person order for a large group in case they order tonnes of stuff you don't like (that's what happened to me!) Also, pricey considering the food quality.

Absolutely love to eat in here. But the takeaway is such amazing value for money. You have to collect, but OMG it’s worth it. So much food. We get the meal for 4 for 2 people lol! But we freeze the rest for another dinner and still have leftovers for lunch the next day! Thank you Thai elephant. Only started ordering the takeaway a couple of months ago and been going to Thai Elephant since it opened.

Surprisingly, this is a very good buffet restaurant, plenty of choices to choose from. Starters and desserts are best here, some unique and tasty Thai and Malaysian dishes that you won't find elsewhere. Services were polite and super quick, food were prepared and cooked per order. Definitely 1 of the best All You Can Eat Restaurant. Highly recommended and will visit again.

My favourite restaurant. Been there numerous times over more than 20 years. The main waiter actually recognises me now. Food is fantastic especially the hot and sour soup. A normal local Chinese takeaway just can't match the tasty food. My son really loves the toffee banana dessert.

I enjoyed the whole experience a lot and would definitely recommend trying at least once. We paid £25ish each for food and could order whatever we wanted from the menu. The portions are small enough to try a few different things and the food was nice enough, though not exceptional. Best choice: Tom Yum Soup Worst choice: Anything with chicken All in all, we we had a lot of food, desserts, and 2 drinks for around £40 each. It was a novelty to be able to try new things that I wouldn't normally order and the staff are so lovely, so we'll definitely return.

Over the many years of eating at the Thai Elephant the food has always been great, and still is. The service was excellent and once you've ordered the food arrives quickly. The only disappointment was that they don't currently sell alcohol free lager for us designated drivers!

Always a fun meal, lots of variety. Assam Prawns (Not on the menu) are worth the visit!!! A firm family favourite for 20 years, marking Birthdays and Celebrations.

Lovely place. Most staff really friendly and helpful. Others staff there were young and still in training, but great to be giving young people experience. Very generous all you can eat menu, although next time I'll skip lunch and make the most of it

Felt slightly rushed - food not the same standard as previous visits … most food on the menu is fried. Not the worst, but definitely not the same standard as once was. Still worth the money if you eat enough - cheap for little ones (one year old FREE, 3 year old £6-7).

Very good service and great food. Chicken Red Thai curry was different from what I'm used to but otherwise the food was delicious. Recommend the chocolate roll for dessert.

If you like seafood this is a great buffet restaurant. Set price menu with all you can eat ordered off the menu and cooked fresh. Drinks reasonable priced. Great choice of starters and mains and it includes desert. Fantastic for a group/family night out. Service excellent and no long waits. I've been going here for many years and have never been disappointed.

Been going to Thai Elephant for years with family and friends always had a great experience lovely food and service.

Always plenty of great food. Been coming for years to be honest, but we don’t like the sittings. We always choose the second as the first is too early, but the last time we felt rushed and were hurried into choosing our dessert meaning we missed out on more main dishes that we would have ordered. A shame.

Went last night to Thai Elephant Two for the first time and I have to say, the quality of the food and service was absolutely outstanding!! Everything was just fresh and delicious! Highly recommend this place, well worth every penny!

As a family party of nine we went to Thai Elephant 2 on 17th December 2022. All of us found the generous portions of authentic food from a very varied menu very good. Great flavours and very well cooked. Service was excellent being provided by efficient and attentive staff. We would all recommend this venue.

Have been using this restaurant for many years and never had a bad meal. Service alway good. Even use on the few times i travel back to south East having moved to Cornwall. Eric and the team are fab and chefs never let me down

I don’t have a problem with the food but the management the staff should realise that we are paying over £26 per person so the food should not be restricted! I think they have changed management at some point and they were watching our table all evening. And this is because my niece asked if she could take her left overs home as she was feeling unwell and couldn’t eat. She had her own plastic bag but they caused a scene and said no! And we asked what they would do with the left overs and they said throw it away! As that was company policy. The way they made such a fuss made me think that perhaps they kept the left overs and used them again! Also when we went in all the staff was sitting at a table eating and even though we was given that time, they were not going to hurry their food to cook and serve for us. We didn’t like the atmosphere, they made us feel Like we couldn’t even put our hands into our bags incase we steal OUR OWN FOOD that we paid for. One more thing, the alcohol was very weak and I suspect could have been watered down. I would never go back there again.

Went with a couple of friends food was terrible chicken all chewy and the chicken skewers so small and like rubber, the green curry very mild and not much taste would never go back worst thia I have ever had

This place used to be my favourite, I’ve been a customer for 10 years but it has gone downhill. I had a takeaway yesterday (2nd Dec) for the first time in 9 months, it was hideous. I threw half of it away. I had their new ‘mix box’ starter, it was a load of scraps thrown in a pizza box; not fit for human consumption… barely fit for wild pigs. After 18 hours I was violently sick and had diarrhoea for about 4 hours.

Well, what can I say? I'd actually rather take a 'number 2' in my hands and clap - than return here. Customer beware! If a member of staff gives you the incorrect bill (and you don't scrutinise it) therefore you end up inadvertently paying the incorrect bill plus a tip - they will call you and leave you a very sinister and threatening voicemail stating that they will plaster your faces allll over social media and also ban you for life. (believe me, would not go back here if my life depended on it!) Honestly, it wouldn't have mattered so much if the food had actually been any good (it was mediocre at best, and this is being kind) barely cooked "chicken", limits to certain items on an all you can eat menu, and most definitely not authentic "Thai". They should rename this place "Terrible overpriced Chinese Elephant that gives you the number twos" - or perhaps "definitely not Thai - expect two star satisfaction if you are lucky (and a threatening phonecall too)". No idea where these five star reviews have come from, clearly people with no taste buds who believe that (and please don't take offence to this) McDonalds is 'the best place ever' (although i'll admit, i'd have definitely rather had a big tasty than go through this "experience" again!) It was honestly very bland, lacked any texture and all in all just plain nasty. If I were you, I'd avoid this dump and spend your hard earned cash elsewhere! The only good thing about the evening (apart from the wrong bill - which, by the way - thanks for that!) were the friends I went with. We definitely lifted the atmosphere (or lack of it) by having a good laugh despite the cruddy excuse for food and service. People of Sussex - AVOID AVOID AVOID. OR, if you do decide to grace the doorstep of this "fine" establishment, hope that you too also get the wrong bill so it costs you a bit closer to what it is actually worth... (although minus the sinister phone call when you are half way home!)

We have been coming here for a couple of years, the food varies from ok to average but it’s a relatively middle point for all our friends to meet at as we are not local. This was our 4th visit this year, On this occasion we had our food and requested the bill, we never hang around to chat as we have children , pets and baby sitters to get home to relieve them from their jobs. We were gutted to find once we were seated that you are now limited to only having one serving per table of certain dishes ( even though this is an “all you can eat buffet”) this was not mentioned to us when we booked our table the week previous We requested the bill looked at the total, rounded it up to the nearest £10 to tip , split it between the number of us there, and handed it to our waiter as we left. Polite as always we made a point of also thanking the bar staff and left. Frankly with how rude some of the staff were we shouldn’t have tipped especially as they added a service charge to our bill anyway The only thing we enjoyed was the company of the friends we brought with us Upon arriving home my friend contacted me to my horror and disbelief that she had received a rude and threatening voicemail from the restaurant without explanation at the time. They had provided us with the wrong bill which we had paid for in full and tipped on top of- and all we received after poor service and average food was aggression, rudeness and terrible customer service ! Would not recommend and definitely will never be returning !

Was previously a firm favourite regardless of how rude certain members of staff were due to the food but there's been a major shift since our last visit. Limited on dishes, the quality of the food we were allowed was questionable at best. Chicken jelly like, the spring rolls had a taste which I can only describe as resembling cow manuer. As always some of the staff were just as rude but worse so on this visit as they gave us the wrong bill then called and left threatening voicemails!! There's obviously a training need for staff. Perhaps a major attitude transplant too. You might not be too bothered to hear that we definitely won't be back but keep this up and you'll lose a lot more custom.

Went for the "eat as as much as you like buffet" Only to find that we were restricted on certain items and only allowed to order one of them. To be honest the food was not good and definitely not authentic Thai. The staff were not very welcoming and the atmosphere was not good. For the standard of food that we received, I would say that it was also very over priced. I am glad that I do not live close to this restaurant, so I won't be eating there again. Anyone else thinking of going to this restaurant, save your money and go elsewhere.

Really shocked at the poor quality of the food. I love Thai food but this was reheated, dripping in oil and and a real disappointment. The staff were not particularly friendly. In addition the buffet was supposed to be ‘each as much as you as you like’, but when we did the staff restricted us from having more than one plate of certain foods. To be honest the experience was extremely poor, the night was spoiled by poor customer service, and I would not recommend this place to my pet dog!

Wow!! this was my first experience here , and I absolutely loved it. Their menu is extensive and full of delicious choices . It is a great opertunity to try dishes you havnt tried before . The quality of the food was excellent and soo incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly and very happy to help and explain the dishes . They made us feel welcome and relaxed. A great choice of drinks both soft and alcohol. The very reasonable price for the eat as much as you like menu just made the entire experience even better . I will most definitely be going back . 5stars all the way .

Food is always delicious, however they have a limit on duck and pancakes now. Service is great but the atmosphere is cold and chairs are uncomfortable.

Usually eat as much as you like options (order not buffet) are limited, but the menu was huge and varied. Most dishes were nice, with only a couple of dishes letting us down (runny curry and deep fried prawn had about two prawns and just loads of batter pieces). Take nothing away from this place; overall, this was truly blissful! I just wish table service was a tad quicker.

Unreal food and fast service staff are lovely aswell

They now have sittings which isn’t so good. We couldn’t do the 6.30 so booked the 8.30. All was going well until just after 9 we were told that the kitchen would close soon and could they take our orders for mains. These we placed but were not really ready to do so as we were still finishing our starters. So I picked mine at random, in a hurry, and when it came we ordered our desserts. The food remained excellent but we did feel hurried, which spoilt the evening, and we didn’t feel we had time to order more desserts.

At nearly £30 a head when you include drinks - what a load of absolute rubbish. Really poor quality food.
