Cafe @ The Green Pavilion in High Peak

This place is always busy as a testament to their fabulous food. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw, quite a simple dish I thought. However, when it arrived it totally exceeded my expectations. It was presented very nicely with a fresh mixed salad, kimchi and rice too, altogether a lovely, tasty dish of food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

On a chilly day last week, I asked for Hot Apple Juice and although they had never tried this before, they experimented with the steamer through the cold, fresh apple juice and created a lovely warming drink. Thank you for going off-menu for me - I hope this is now on the menu!

Really good cafe, very busy but worth the wait. Not over-priced either. Toasted sandwiches recommended. Good coffee as well.

Called in for lunch with our wee dog and were made very welcome. A good selection of light lunches available and even our daughter who is very fussy found something she was happy to order AND enjoyed when it arrived.

Hadn’t booked anywhere for breakfast on a Saturday morning so everywhere was either full or very busy. It was busy here but I e managed to get a table outside. Nice menu and lovely service. We ordered food and drinks and were told there would be a bit of a wait on food. I don’t mind waiting if you’re warned, so that was great. Coffee was lovely and the food was fab. Unfortunately as soon as the food arrived, we were attacked by wasps, so the team kindly loved inside so we e could enjoy our breakfast without the stress 🤣 Would definitely recommend a visit here.

I am a regular here and love the food, the ambience, the warm welcome. go for Breakfast or lunch, you won't be disappointed. also delicious cakes and excellent coffee.

Decided to try a new lunch venue after being disappointed with our usual venue last time in town first appearance was ROUGH + READY my it was so busy... heaving in fact when our order came , WE KNEW WHY Wonderful food, portion size...coupled with a refreshing tea talking to others, this was their regular haunt in town.... it will be our first call in future

Called in for breakfast after reading other reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Fabulous coffee, delicious food and friendly staff. Chef cares about what she produces and they couldn’t do enough for us. This will be our go to place when we next visit.

Piping hot, delicious food, homemade marmalade accompanied by a high quality cappuccino (packed a punch like a proper coffee should). Lots of space and friendly, efficient service. Maybe you can find a little cheaper in a worse location but you won’t find a better breakfast I promise you.

Didn't expect too much here, when we stopped in for an off the cuff lunch. Had steak, onions and mushroom which came with a variet of homemade sides. Very impressed. Prepared by someone who knew their trade very well. Very nicely done and very satisfying. Would return in a heartbeat.

I’ve eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed it. However I was disappointed today. I had the goats cheese and onion tart and it was pretty small and tasteless, and at £10 although it was not the most expensive meal in the world it just did t feel worth it. It would be good if customers had some choice in the types of salads they receive too. The choices I had today weren’t really to my taste whereas my friend’s looked much nicer. The service was good but today’s meal left me not really wanting to return.

The cake slices were ridiculously expensive. £4.65 for the smallest slice, wafer thin. Won't be going there again. The staff member that I complained to was very flippant.

This is a lovely café near the centre and places of interest. Wooden floors, comfy sofas, and shabby chic vibe makes the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Excellent breakfast choices, freshly cooked and delicious, and excellent coffee. Friendly staff as well. Recommended.

We went to this place today as we wanted somewhere dog friendly and pleasant. It looked lovely on reviews. It was an average place, sadly they have extremely poor ventilation and as a result the whole cafe stinks of cooking. A greasy smell that lingers on your clothes. To be honest, the food was not that great, basic food for the high price points. The drinks too were very pricy and not anything special. Customer service was good. I just found the place a bit too chaotic as well, in terms of the interior, table layouts and decor. I personally wouldn't recommend it or go again myself, I had to buy a body spray to get rid of the lingering smells on my clothes!

Lovely food with generous salads, tasty cake and comfy mugs of tea and coffee. Friendly attentive staff making space for a wheelchair and not rushing us.

Ate the best ever sandwich with salads at this cafe! Everything was so fresh and tasty and we were spoiled for choice with the menu. Our only disappointment was that we were unable to visit again as we were only in Buxton for the day. Would very highly recommend.

We enjoyed some lovely cakes and coffees. The staff were very friendly, the decor was nice and the toilets were clean. We would happily visit again!

A welcoming stop off for a spot of lunch. We were looking for somewhere dog-friendly and this Café certainly is. The food is great, especially the jacket potatoes which came with a delightful array of salads on the side. Coffee and cakes were good too. The service was excellent and the it felt a relaxed vibe. Unfortunately, we are not local but when we next visit lovely Buxton, we'll certainly drop in again.

A really quirky place with a great vibe. Great to have a House Burger with a healthy salad and not a chip in site. Everything is fresh and all the food looks as good as all the reviews suggest. Really enjoyed ourselves and Polly the dog loved it.

Still our favourite. Absolutely gorgeous breakfast and perfect cappucino as always. Just can't beat Cafe at The Green Pavilion for beautifully cooked food and an overall friendly atmosphere.

A fabulous cafe / coffee house catering for all from coffee and cakes to breakfast and lunch .. the service was a delight and the full English breakfast a winner .. situated in the centre of Buxton if your peckish and want value for money this place fits the bill

We come to Buxton a lot and can’t believe we’ve not found this place before! Cake for brunch with the dogs. Really cosy cafe with friendly staff nice large spacious tables and also sofas if you’re just having a drink. The coffee was so nice and we had a breakfast and veggie breakfast which were both delicious. We’ll definitely be back

Absolutely amazing food! The salads that came with the sandwiches were very tasty. Kitted out for children with boxes of books and toys to keep them happy! Thank you to all the ladies that were very accommodating with 2 little, active boys! We will definitely visit again when we are on holiday up here again!

Lovely cakes, lovely coffee and tea. We had carrot cake and coffee a walnut cake. The slices were huge and very fresh and homemade. We also had a sausage roll which was so big we shared it. The cafe was very homely and service was very quick.

We had a really long wait for our food and unfortunately the wait was not worth it The sausages were so so but the scrambled eggs were the real disappointment it seemed to be in slices We won’t be back

We were exploring Buxton and dropped in for a coffee. The smell of food was too good, so my wife had a breakfast bagel and the bacon was really good. I had fried eggs on toast and the eggs were delicious and cooked perfectly. We’re tempted to go back tomorrow just for breakfast. The staff were friendly and the cakes also looked great.

Excellent service and prices. I visited here with family and my mum and I really liked the coffee. I would’ve had a vegan cake but sadly the only vegan cake available wasn’t what I liked (banana). I can tell this was a family place and it had a cosy feel, but the toys and books around were not to my taste. Would come again though!

A highlight of our few days in the peak district - we came back via Buxton where we were extremely impressed with the Green Pavilion Cafe (opp the steps up to the Pavilion Gardens). Good menu with lots of veggie options, really delicious food, very friendly service - and dog and child friendly too. The salads that came with my beautifully baked potato were so yummy, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger. The cafe was busy but the staff there were lovely, proactive, friendly and smiley with a can-do attitude! Definitely plan to return even if it means a detour on a future trip!

This is a nice, rather rustic little place with a very relaxed ambiance. Lovely old traditional building features (especially the old mirrored sign on the entrance) with nice views of Buxton. The staff were friendly and attentive, if rather busy (which is a good sign) so there was a bit of a wait for my order, which was no problem at all. I opted for a fish curry which was certainly worth the wait as it was a generous portion of fish, and other seafood with a side of healthy brown rice, bread and salad. It was absolutely delicious (as was the Goat curry I had some time ago) For £6.95 this was an absolute bargain. Suffice to say I will be eating here in the future
