Cafe @ The Green Pavilion in High Peak

A welcoming stop off for a spot of lunch. We were looking for somewhere dog-friendly and this Café certainly is. The food is great, especially the jacket potatoes which came with a delightful array of salads on the side. Coffee and cakes were good too. The service was excellent and the it felt a relaxed vibe. Unfortunately, we are not local but when we next visit lovely Buxton, we'll certainly drop in again.

A really quirky place with a great vibe. Great to have a House Burger with a healthy salad and not a chip in site. Everything is fresh and all the food looks as good as all the reviews suggest. Really enjoyed ourselves and Polly the dog loved it.

Still our favourite. Absolutely gorgeous breakfast and perfect cappucino as always. Just can't beat Cafe at The Green Pavilion for beautifully cooked food and an overall friendly atmosphere.

A fabulous cafe / coffee house catering for all from coffee and cakes to breakfast and lunch .. the service was a delight and the full English breakfast a winner .. situated in the centre of Buxton if your peckish and want value for money this place fits the bill

We come to Buxton a lot and can’t believe we’ve not found this place before! Cake for brunch with the dogs. Really cosy cafe with friendly staff nice large spacious tables and also sofas if you’re just having a drink. The coffee was so nice and we had a breakfast and veggie breakfast which were both delicious. We’ll definitely be back

Lovely breakfast, very popular good quality local produce, took a while to get our breakfast but it was super busy when we arrived, wife enjoyed the porridge but it wasn’t as nice as the breakfast 👍good tasty coffee too

Was asked if 1 or 2 shots of coffee but forgot to mention at an extra cost. Paid £8-30 for 2 medium/regular cups. Rip off, won’t be going there again plus we’re local😡

Absolutely amazing food! The salads that came with the sandwiches were very tasty. Kitted out for children with boxes of books and toys to keep them happy! Thank you to all the ladies that were very accommodating with 2 little, active boys! We will definitely visit again when we are on holiday up here again!

Lovely cakes, lovely coffee and tea. We had carrot cake and coffee a walnut cake. The slices were huge and very fresh and homemade. We also had a sausage roll which was so big we shared it. The cafe was very homely and service was very quick.

We had a really long wait for our food and unfortunately the wait was not worth it The sausages were so so but the scrambled eggs were the real disappointment it seemed to be in slices We won’t be back

It’s a cosy relaxed atmosphere in the cafe . The staff are friendly and the hone made cafe is fab .

We were exploring Buxton and dropped in for a coffee. The smell of food was too good, so my wife had a breakfast bagel and the bacon was really good. I had fried eggs on toast and the eggs were delicious and cooked perfectly. We’re tempted to go back tomorrow just for breakfast. The staff were friendly and the cakes also looked great.

Excellent service and prices. I visited here with family and my mum and I really liked the coffee. I would’ve had a vegan cake but sadly the only vegan cake available wasn’t what I liked (banana). I can tell this was a family place and it had a cosy feel, but the toys and books around were not to my taste. Would come again though!

A highlight of our few days in the peak district - we came back via Buxton where we were extremely impressed with the Green Pavilion Cafe (opp the steps up to the Pavilion Gardens). Good menu with lots of veggie options, really delicious food, very friendly service - and dog and child friendly too. The salads that came with my beautifully baked potato were so yummy, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger. The cafe was busy but the staff there were lovely, proactive, friendly and smiley with a can-do attitude! Definitely plan to return even if it means a detour on a future trip!

This is a nice, rather rustic little place with a very relaxed ambiance. Lovely old traditional building features (especially the old mirrored sign on the entrance) with nice views of Buxton. The staff were friendly and attentive, if rather busy (which is a good sign) so there was a bit of a wait for my order, which was no problem at all. I opted for a fish curry which was certainly worth the wait as it was a generous portion of fish, and other seafood with a side of healthy brown rice, bread and salad. It was absolutely delicious (as was the Goat curry I had some time ago) For £6.95 this was an absolute bargain. Suffice to say I will be eating here in the future

In fairness the food tasted ok. Just wish we hadn’t eaten it when we saw the kitchen staff. Their white tops were far from white. Light grey in fact. And dirty into the bargain. The young man needed a shave and a hair cut. Anyone’s guess how clean the kitchen is. Disappointed.

A delicious lunch with interesting menu. Great range of options on menu, good service and very reasonable prices. Grilled Mushroom sandwich on sour dough with cheese and pesto was delish. After not being able to visit since 2018 we were really looking forward to visiting. We were definately not disappointed. Our sandwiches were delicious and my son who is 2 demolished his lunch. The staff were polite and helpful and even though it was extremely busy they were on the ball and very attentive. We will definately be back! X

Only called here for a small lunch meal. It took much longer than I was expecting to be served - staff seemed really overworked - but the food when it arrived was really good - tasty and I thought the portions were reasonably good value. It was a nice day and I sat outside which was nice, but the tables were a bit unsteady and could do with something doing to them to make them more stable as my glass nearly got smashed when someone knocked the table.I also made the mistake of ordering a cola which meant I was terrorised by several wasps throughout my meal. Maybe sit inside if you are consuming sugary drinks which attract wasps!

Delicious lunch last Friday. Delighted by the choice of food and the different accompaniments were a pleasant surprise. Staff were extremely pleasant, despite being understaffed with one member being ill and very busy. We will definitely return.

My husband and I had a late lunch here. Both had hot sandwiches and we shared a portion of cheescake. The cafe was very busy both inside and out but staff worked really hard to ensure everyone was well looked after. The food was delicious, good portion sizes, very tasty sourdough bread and we thought very good value. Although we had to queue for a table it was worth the wait , wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

Well. I’ve never had a lamb burger with Hummus and 2 olives as a garnish , and several “adventurous” salads on the side, some of which were decent, others not so decent. As for the chocolate Orange cake, my 5yo cake expert, took 2 mouthfuls and pushed it away, well, it was more than the 1 mouthful my 3yo took…….. I tried it myself and could understand why. Very hard and dry with a strange texture to it. I’ll be honest, it was far from great. The place had a nice enough atmosphere and the girls who worked there where friendly and catering, but I think it’s safe to say, we won’t be back.

I only had a black Americano, a coffee with ‘no where to hide’. It was excellent as was the friendly service. The cafe was clean too. I’m in Buxton for a few days f sad o I hope to return and try more.

Lovely friendly place but a bit disappointed in our breakfasts.One small oatcake with cheese no garnish and very small plate of scrambled egg.Also the coffee blend was not good .Sorry but this is the second time we have not been happy.

So the positives : great staff and excellent food - however as a lover of good coffee £3.45 for a Flat White plus Oat Milk is expensive - ( London rates) and more significantly either they are using a cheap blend or the barrista needs training on how not to 'burn' the coffee - so I recommend that they review their coffee product range and compare it to other venues that have a better blend / better quality tasting coffee

Nice to sit outside in the sunshine and as always enjoy a pleasant lunch. Service was top drawer , very covid compliant , the food was fresh , well prepared and tasted great.. look forward to returning again...

Since the end of lockdown my friend and I have been meeting here regularly, often on our favourite sofa, drooling over the salads. We have said one day soon we will come not just for delicious coffe but for lunch too.Saturday was dreary and we decided that this would be the day. We didn’t mind waiting in the rain for a few minutes because we know that this is the place to come for fantastic customer service and amazing food that, incidentally, Simon told me has no calories! I always believe the chef!We were not disappointed. We both chose the frittata and salads. The frittata was amazing filled with sweet potatoes and feta and the salads were fresh and varied with unexpected flavours to treat us with. I needed gluten free salads and there was no problem or lack of variety because of that. We avoided the cake, I’d love to know if that has no calories too! However, my friend bought a slice for her husband who enjoyed it.Cake here is a must if you are having a treat. My family had two cakes made here during lockdown and they were both a big hit.Two hours passed and we couldn’t believe how the time had flown by. We left after enjoying a scrumptious lunch and amazing service that makes this place feel like home.
